The Safeway on Stevens Creek Boulevard in San Jose has long been a go-to for my grocery needs. Despite some shortcomings, particularly in terms of its physical appearance, the store continues to deliver in terms of product range and customer service.Firstly, its worth addressing the elephant in the room - the store could greatly benefit from some remodeling. The exterior and interior both show signs of age and wear, which is somewhat disappointing when compared to other newer or recently refurbished supermarkets in the area. The lighting could use an upgrade and the store layout, while familiar, seems a bit dated. In todays world where shopping can be an experience as much as it is a necessity, a makeover could significantly enhance the overall ambiance and feel of the store. However, aesthetics aside, the Safeway on Stevens Creek Blvd has much to commend. One of the most notable strengths of this store is its staff. Every visit is made more enjoyable by the friendly and helpful employees. Whether its a question about product location, needing assistance with heavy items, or checking out at the register, the staff is consistently courteous, professional, and eager to assist.Furthermore, the variety and quality of the products on offer are impressive. The store boasts a wide range of groceries, from fresh fruits and vegetables to a well-stocked bakery, deli, and meat section. The shelves are regularly replenished ensuring fresh and high-quality items are available. Ive often been pleasantly surprised at the availability of certain hard-to-find items. In conclusion, while the Safeway on Stevens Creek Boulevard in San Jose could indeed benefit from a remodel, it remains a reliable choice for grocery shopping. The staffs commitment to customer service and the wide array of products available ensures a satisfactory shopping experience. It is a testament to the fact that sometimes, its not just about the packaging, but whats on the inside that counts.

I went there to get fried chicken from the deli (which had already closed), and there was plenty on the shelf in the deli section along with other forms of chicken; strips, rotisseries, baked, shredded, and fried. The terrible part about this is that it was ALL dried out. Some parts of the chicken was soooo damn hard, that it looked like jerky!!! I thought that this only occurred at the store on West San Carlos and Race Street; but apparently not. I know for a fact that the Safeway in the San Antonio Shopping Center in Palo Alto/Mt. View doesnt have this; so tell me... WHY do these stores keep their poultry in such unhealthy, dissatisfied and extremely unsanitary disarray? Its not only an eyesore, its unhealthy!!! I DO NOT recommend eating these products. Buyer BEWARE.... If your stomach starts hurting and youre going to the bathroom, and youre feeling as if you have to throw up... You know why....

This Safeway At the West Valley Fair Mall on Stevens Creek Blvd and Winchester Blvd in Santa Clara is the best Safeway Everme and my family been shopping here since 2001.The produce always have the freshest fruits and veggiesSometimes their berries dont look too fresh but I still buy itTheir lunch meats selections look pretty goodthe meat department Has the best meat selectionsThe deli department has the best roast chickens and deli food love the staff of the deli department they are so friendlyAnd the cashiers are friendlyI always looked out for Some items on the 50% off rock and the bakery 50% off rack And 30% off of the meat and seafood section and also this Safeway does not have a bakery department but They do have a Little bakery Area in the florist department. They have very limited Bakery itemsBecause its small store/limited items. All bakery items come from another store. Im not very fussy about it I just get whatever they have in the little area but overall I like this Safeway ill do regular shopping and last minute shopping here

Grew up shopping at this Safeway in the 60s, still have an affinity for Safeway. Maybe its just me, but for my money Safeway has the nicest grocery shopping experience overall from all of the traditional grocers. This particular store is slated to be torn down eventually so Safeway admittedly isnt willing to put any money into the store....its a bit tired and an old store, but its well stocked, fully functional and a sure bet. You can shop at Walmart or Lucky, but you wont find the same quality produce or meats, Safeway one ups them.Parking here is often busy, and especially during the holidays. I was the lucky recipient of a towing episode last year for parking in an area I thought was ok, well behind Safeway, so watch yourself carefully and mind the towing areas....they get aggressive during the holidays. If fresh fruit, great meats, breads, flowers, deli and a broad, dependable selection of your favorite food items is what your after, youll find it at Safeway.

This Safeway is the worst, its run down, the shelves arent stocked, the lines are long, and its totally run down and decaying. The produce isle is especially disappointing.I spoke to some of the staff about why after all these years this location has received zero maintenance or renovation and they said Safeway corp renovates the stores that arent profitable, and because of the location and the lease they signed long long ago, theyre killing it here.

Been coming to This Safeway for years the building itself is very worn down. But I like the convince of how close its to my house. You can find some really good deals along with the coupons, and the app. Hopefully they remodel this building. But dont move this Safeway to another location.

Posted limited (1 hour, I think) parking, although unlikely strickly-enforced. There was quite a few people loitering in the lot, but the store was pretty empty. The building is old and dated, especially considering all the developments in the area. The staff was friendly and they had a good selection of beers/wines on the shelves.

Good service & products. Beautiful flowers. A bit pricey though.
