This place has an amazing deli, not just for the great variety but for the fantastic customer service. Overall it’s a super market with good quality food, vegetables are usually fresh and it’s also usually well stocked. The bakery is also good and love the smell of freshly baked bread every other day, very clean too. In short, a well managed store.

I purchase my items for pick up, and most of the time they always forget an item. I also purchased garlic bread (the kind in the bag), took a bite and realized it was filled with mold. Absolutely disgusting and definitely not made daily.

Ten stars for Jose in the bakery, Erica for the balloons, Jason and Ingrid for the excellent customer service. They went above and beyond to accommodate me for my son birthday party. I’m please with the perfection of the cake details performed by Jose. From the beginning he was understanding of my vision and executed with delivery. Super thankful for this Safeway. From the chicken to the cake and cupcakes everything was fresh and on time. And I must add very delicious!!!! Thanks to all of you for the wonderful day y’all made for my son, family, friends and myself!!!

This place was the worst job I ever had. Full of mean old managers who yelled at me during the interview for not having enough money for a red tie. They made me take showers of chicken blood in the deli when you lift trays of raw chicken into the high up oven. All that for minimum wage. I actually lost money working for Safeway because of the union fees and dress code. Also, Safeway is known for having the ugliest stores and longest lines. Life is a lot better without Safeway!

Ruth was so nice and helpful. Thank you Ruth!Update…today (8/20/22) I went by the Starbucks to get a coffee…it was 6:59pm. I honestly didn’t realize they were one minute from closing until I left. I am not one of those “last min” people but…I waited for about 2 minutes about the associate finish someone else is drinking passed it off to them. At 7:01 she informed me that she was closed. If it were me, I would have just made the drink. 😔

I am in walking distance of this Safeway, but prefer to go to the two other Safeway’s in Walnut Creek instead. I used to like this one until they remodeled it. Everything that use to be on the left is now on the right, but once you get used to that then you realize they don’t have the things they used to have. I was told they are a “premier store” so now you can’t get regular donut you get premium donuts. (Donuts piled high with Captain crunch, cereal, and glaze poured over. ) for you guessed it a premium price. The self checkout and here is my biggest complaint, it is small cramped space with over hovering staff or no help in site. I was ready to check out when I couldn’t find the bar code for an Item and asked for help after the clerk was done helping someone else. I proceeded to scan items and she came over an grabbed the nectarine I had just scanned and scanned it again, started to walk away and I said that wasn’t what I needed help with. She found the bar code and walked off. I realized the nectarine was scanned twice, and pushed the help button and no help came. I already felt uncomfortable and so I just left everything there. I don’t like the attitude of this store and will consider this location closed. Sadly, it used to be a very home town vibe, now it feels like strangers came in and remodeled it with smelly rude over priced airs. I don’t like it when people think they are better than “others” and this is not the kind of store I want to shop at.

This Safeway is on my way home from work so easy to stop at. But also its a clean store easy to navigate with the usual signs ect. Has good inventory ect not much else to say besides the store is pretty clean and easy to shop at usually short to no line for the self check out....They r now going through a whole remodel with more self checkout stands ectThe store looks pretty nice after the remodel was alil difficult to get used to but once you do you can quickly get what you need and make it a quick stop

Just about a month ago I sent a review outlining deceptive display tactics in the meat department along with a package of tortillas that had one (1) usable tortilla in the entire package. I did receive a response from corporate thanking me and they would inform the store. Things went well until last week when I was shocked to see the steaks we purchased were again trimmed about a quarter inch of fat one the front side and very close to an inch on the back side. I am drafting a letter to the health department as well as weights and measures. With meat and poultry prices astronomical, an honest trim would seem to be in order.

Terrible experience today at Starbucks at Safeway, employee, Rebecca, who normally is a cashier, was rude and disrespectful towards me as a customer! She raised her voice when I said the coffee doesn’t taste good and was rolling her eyes and whispering something to the other employee in front of me! She should be banned from Starbucks and interacting with customers before it gets worse! Safeway doesn’t need people like that showing the store in a bad light!

Easy parking lot to navigate. Great fresh sea food available. I was shopping for ingredients to make a sea food chowder. The clams, mussels and fish had just been delivered, and the quality was fabulous. I like shopping at the Concord Safewsy. They also have top grade meat, fruit, veggies and bakery goods. It is a great store and excellent cashiers and store helpers.

We are becoming a bit frustrated with the store. Over the last couple of months we have experienced pork chops that were 70% bone on the bottom side. New York steaks trimmed at a severe angle, creating about 3/4 of an inch of fat on the bottom and less than a quarter in on the front. Last but not least an 18 pack of corn tortillas with 2 usable and 16 in torn pieces. Disappointed that quality control at this store is non existent. Thankfully we have other stores we can patronize.Thank YouChris Nicoles

I liked this Safeway because it was close to my job. However, the last few times I went in there I noticed one of the employees acting kinda awkward. Went in there more recently and I swear she was on every aisle I was on. After speaking to a couple other people, including employees in the store, I found out she is in fact the manager Michelle. She is rude and a bit judgemental when it comes to minorities. Such a shame. This use to be my favorite location.

I had a surprising wonderful experience today. Elsie, LEad of fresh cut department, heard and saw me drop 2 beautiful Pre made salads $10 each. She was on her break and chose to help me get a replacements for the 2 salads. I’m forever grateful to a caring and kind individual at Safeway Countrywood! I stood in front of the seafood counter waiting to be served while a young guy with long hair was rushing to put things away with headphones in. Minutes go by, he clearly wanted my wife and I to go away but after a few minutes he addresses me and says he’s closed for the night. It’s now 7:50 which seems like a strange time to close so we asked a coworker who confirms the seafood counter is open to 8. I get that grocery workers have had to deal with a lot lately but it seems like pulling teeth to get any level of customer service or a smile at Safeway. Time to go to Whole Foods (paycheck) to avoid this.

Its probably one of my favorite Safeway stores it has everything its displayed beautifully any questions you have the answer is probably yes. I cant say enough about this Safeway. Its fresh beautiful friendly helpful theres trees in the parking lot so its not baking hot when you get back in your car. Something I appreciate because I have a dog too. Luckily my dog usually goes with me because hes my service dog. But thats not always the case for a lot of people so I appreciate trees and parking lots but the Safeway is absolutely beautiful

I had the worst Customer service experience ever in US. Tahara at the customer service office treated me and my wife very rudely, non-gentle and unfriendly. She refused and tried to ski off assisting me sending two wires and told me that she will do only one because she has other things to take care of. when I insist and ask her gently to do the two wires she did but her attitude was very bad to us and also she refused to check out some other items although that is her job.I told her very nicely I will not file a complaint but she need to be nicer with customer she rudely replied “this is my best”The reason why I put this review here because even after I let that experience go and I had forgive her, today I’m surprised that one of my two wires didn’t go through,And I have to go back again to get a refund and re-send it I have a feeling that she did that to me.

When the 1 person finally came to wait on us, 1 of the other came from the back and waited on new people who walked up instead of the ones waiting. Had the worst experience shopping at Safeway this morning. Food was fine as usual, but the old gentleman cashier was very rude to us. There was a white American lady in front of us who bought a bottle of drink, and the cashier treated her very nicely. When it’s our turn, he suddenly changed his attitude and gave us a very cold look. He did not say Hi to us like he did to other white Americans, which was ok to us. But the way he treated our food was extremely RUDE! He literally threw the food very hard on the table, and some of the food bags were broken. One lady waiting behind us was shaking her head after seeing this. He did not help us at all to put food in the bags and all he did was banging them hard and randomly on the table. The way he treated us was obviously an attitude of racism and xenophobia. I know it’s hard to convince or talk with ppl who are racists, but I can make sure that I will NOT go to this Safeway again in my life and I will suggest all my Asian friends or friends with colors not shop here so that they can avoid being treated like this by this old Gentleman.

Safeway sells a product and does not stand behind it. The sales of it “prepaid visa card”that asks you for all of your personal information including your Social Security number is not something that a person would want to buy. It is miss represented. Safeway sells it so you just lost your money. I am Not willing to put my personal information online to an agency I’m not connected to. Safeway needs to stand behind a product.

It is a nice local grocery store. The reason of 4 stars is due to lack of restocking the products for the late afternoon, evening customers. I normally go early morning but the few times I went there later in the afternoon I noticed that. Otherwise it is a good local store.

I went to buy a cake and after waiting for almost 30 mins no one came by at the bakery area. When I asked someone to help me in getting one cake from the shelf they were not ready and I was told all of them were left though that lady with whom I asked help for was standing there doing nothing. I am writing this review about the deli and specifically for Farrah R, Elizabeth R, and Lorna M in the deli. I ordered a plethora of sandwiches for a school event that was very detailed and these ladies not only made the sandwiches in a quick timely manner, but did so with smiles on their faces regardless that it was a VERY busy Saturday when I picked up my order. The customer service was outstanding and they were all fantastic to work with. I ordered the sandwiches, (50 sandwiches, 3 different varieties, cut in 1/2) and they delivered without a hiccup. I really appreciate the customer service they provided to me and would recommend Safeway on Bancroft and these ladies to anyone. Thank you Farrah, Elizabeth R and Lorna M!! You are greatly appreciated by St. Francis of Assisi School and myself.

This Store is open 24 Hours a day. The Store Employees are Friendly and helpful. When it was cold and I got stuck here since I live in S.F. they let me hang out by the bar @ Starbucks until Train Service resumed in the morning.

I would give them 5 stars for a small major chain grocery store, except for staffing. The store is clean, and nicely appointed, and they carried everything I came for. However, when I needed a staff member on the floor...none to be found. Seriously, all I needed was a half gallon of half and half, but it was so far in the back in the shelving, that even standing on the rail, I couldnt reach it. I wandered isles, but couldnt find someone to help. I was able to obtain the item, but only by asking for it at the cashier...and that means stalling everyone behind me until a bagger could get it for me. Fortunately, it didnt take long, but it was still a bit uncomfortable.

They need to check the rat traps behind the isles, it smells like something died behind the shelf. It’s not just the disgusting drains near the meat section either. It’s the smell of a rotting mouse or rat that permeates the entire store.

Completely RACIST i went to buy food with my best friend for her birthday and the lady tersa or whatever her name was embarrassed us after she thought we stole after she watched and helped me pay for food in the self check out not only that i paid for a sandwhich at the deli and showed her the reciept and didnt believe i paid for my seafood which i had to re go get and pay for in customer service. I paid for all my food and still got profiled becaise im black. My friend had a block on her ankle and the lady must have thought something like house arrest but if your smart you cany go anywhere on house arrest. They are racist and rude. She took our food yes the worker teresa and i had to re buy it using food stamps. Ive never been treated so badly in my life in a grocery store do not go here.

I hate this Safeway, the deli prepared food is gross and expect too wait a long time for a clerk. The check out clerks are rude, and I couldnt even get change at 10 pm, they are too lazy too go to there safe so the put sticky notes on the credit card machines saying no change every night. I asked if the clerk if he could make the bags not so heavy (they always cram so much in the bags you cant lift them or the bags rip and your food is on the ground) he was an ass and told me his definition of heavy was different then mine, well good for him just lighten the bags you jerk. Also no longer 24 hrs. Had to get cold medicine the other night, sign says closed from 2am to 5am. So that sucks. No longer shopping here. The new Safeway on ygnacio is much better.
