I like shopping at Safeway. This store is on my way to work or go home. Getting off the freeway and back on the freeway is easy without additional traffic and time. However, I have come to Safeway less often in recent years due to safety concerns regarding the parking lot!The store looks nice and very organized. They have security guards and cameras at the entrance. So the safety inside the store is good. The workers are very friendly, and the prices of all products are reasonable. I am still shopping here, but I am just trying to avoid the time after sunset!

Safeway located on Alhambra Boulevard on the edge of East Sacramento and Midtown Sacramento, They have plenty of parking with security and the cashiers are friendly and helpful, they also have fresh salads 🥗 a pastry section, deli, money 💰 orders, Western Union, Starbucks and plenty of groceries to choose from, and the inside is well stocked and clean, I highly recommend for your every day needs, 5 ⭐s hands down

Nice clean store and very friendly employees. Prices are a little high especially for milk and milk substitutes. We also rarely buy produce here. Meat and seafood has some good deals though. Be sure to use the Safeway app and club card to save more. Todays special was jumbo shrimp for $4.99 a pound and London broil for $3. Also dont be fooled by buy one get one deals and always do the unit pricing.

This store gets worse over time. Store security follows you around. Most registers are closed, with several closed off with random shelving. Management cares more about shrinkage than keeping customers serviced.There are several one way gates, including when you first go inside and then after self-check. You have to scan your receipt to exit. There are warning signs all over about alarms sounding. They do a great job of making you feel like a thief as soon as you step foot inside and that doesnt stop until you leave.You can try to avoid this by using online ordering, but my family has never had an order that wasnt messed up, late, missing items, etc.The only reason I shop here is because the area corner stores are more expensive with less selection. And even that isnt as much a barrier anymore, given that this Safeway has literal barriers all throughout.Its a dystopia, with a produce aisle.

The security woman working on the morning of Jan 28 2024 was out of line. I understand I came in with a backpack on but Its what I carry my medicine and supplies in. I have stage for mouth cancer and came in to pick up some ensure. I even smiled at her as she greeted me at the door. As Im walking through the store looking for the ensure as well as looking around for other supplies, I noticed her following me around. When I got to ensure aisle she had the nerve to rudely ask me, are you going to buy anything, or are you just looking around in front of other customers. I couldnt respond back due to the cancer taking my tongue from me. So I just pointed at the ensure. Picked it up and headed straight for the check out line. She had the nerve to say Im just making sure, have a nice day

People have fun working here. There is a generational generative community feeling in shopping here. I enjoyed finding and purchasing Safeway Signature Items often best quality and price!I wish there were a place to sit down and rest some.I love these prices that makes it A OK to slow down and attentively look shop and endurance relax.

False advertising, checked out at self checkout only to find that it was 8.99 for one bowl so I went and grabbed two more bowls to take advantage of their deal only for it not to give the discount! I notified the employee working in self checkout and she walked over to the stand and read the sign saying that the deal is only for 4.99 bowls and I let her know that the sign says mix and match and their is no other sign indicating that their was another price so all that is in the display should be honored for what the sign is advertising. But in typical fashion she just shrugged her shoulders saying that’s the price. Honestly this is not the first time I’ve witnessed unprofessional behavior in this store, I’ve seen an employee cursing out an security about not doing his job but that’s neither her or there. Management what’s your store policy on false advertising?

I was followed by the security guard today as I shopped. There are quite a few homeless people in the parking lot, yet they follow a middle-aged English with a bunch of bananas around the store. I live in the 40s, so Im in the store often, so its astonishing how people can be treated at this particular location by the security staff.

The store is well organized and clean. However, every aisle I went down the security was visible, which (at first) made me feel safe. However, when I went to check out all three were right there as if I stole something. There were not many people of color in the store. Needless to say, the store visit was a bit uncomfortable to put it lightly.

I picked up cupcakes from the Safeway bakery for my daughters birthday.They were amazing vanilla with white vanilla icing they tasted just like a Twinkie!They were amazing!Also the lady in the bakery gets a five star ad well she was very helpful!

Ive been shopping at Alhambra Safeway for over 30 years now, and had worked there for almost 7. Its a love hate relationship with this store lol. After many of years of issues from theft, to fighting, homeless, and drug users, and mentally ill, they finally got security (3 at that) and a Sacramento PD at night. This used to be one of very few open 24hr locations not only for Safeway, but also Downtown Sacramento in general. It finally closed its doors at night to help reduce in a lot of its crime issues and the police forever being called to deal with incidents that forever take place here. These images are nothing new to this store as you can see always providing the freshest frozen food available for its customers. Always a helpful hint, check the dates before you buy.

Safeway has gone so down on the freshness ladder its sad. I should have taken pics but was in such a hurry and frustrated, I was just shocked. In the produce section, I found 3 bags of lemons that were moldy, packaged green beans that were clearly rotting, bags of salads with slimy pieces of lettuce in them already with expired date on them. Then in the dairy/cheese isle, they were selling the cinnamon rolls with a reduced price of 25% off with an expiration date of 4/20/2023. It was already the 26th. I just couldnt believe it. I always found freshness when shopping here, but not anymore. The service was great and friendly.

They got rid of shopping carts for customers. I have gone in a few times to do my weekly shopping and can not complete because they have no carts. Employees just say oh well I cant do anything about that. I understand the homeless take them maybe have staff to clear the lot more frequently or have the 2 security guards do more than stand there on their phones.

I visited days ago. Realized I was overcharged when I arrived home. I called, returned & was reimbursed.Process was seamless.The deli makes great sandwiches and ribs friday were a special price and taste was great. This is the largest grocery store near our house. So we can get a variety of things - food, pet food, alcoholic beverages, frozen foods, and there is much more! Oh, there is a Pharmacy, Starbucks, Bakery, Delicatessen, & some others! This is nice to have all this close to our house!!

Recently two stalwarts of midtown domestic nightlife have shocked its community by offering one service less. Safeway and Rite Aid will no longer be open 24 hours. Safeway is now closed nightly from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m, Rite Aid 11p.m. to 7a.m.Asked about the reason for this change a Safeway employee said he had no idea. “It comes from on high,” he said, meaning it was a decision made at Safeway Corporate.A security guard working the now uneventful graveyard shift said he believed they made the decision based on all the theft at night.From having had a Safeway store manager as my partner, this author is aware of the difficulties and frustration experienced nightly by employees whose duties include restocking a whole store while also attending to customers using the Safeway method of extra customer service, there will be no regrets about the new hours by those employed there.It was strange to see the doors barred and lights out on a recent attempted store run.As for the stores themselves, theyre pretty good overall.

The Safeway is a nice Safeway but the reason why I give it 3 stars is because every single time I go in there I see thieves stealing their products so it makes it a semi unsafe place to be. I cant Believe the number of times that Ive seen people filling a backpack or a cart full of stolen items and walking out of the store. The Safeway executives do an incredibly poor job of protecting their employees and their items from thieves.

I had ordered delivery through Safeway. The girl brought it to the wrong address even though my address is 2241 she brought it to 2237 I verified my address on my order to make sure it was not my fault it was not. I did not get the groceries at all that night they did refund my card generally speaking I like Safeway stores I think they produce, etc. is a little more than OK. I will never order again from them.

Safeways prices are definitely on the higher end of the spectrum, but their late hours are THE best! Theyre the ONLY grocery store chain opened past 11 PM, with some being 24 hour, like the one on Fair Oaks. Luckily this location is the one closest to my home because theyre open all the way until 1 AM 😻!!!

Parking lot and walkways never cleaned or powerwashed. Litter everywhere. A third of parking lot lights burned out...really dark if you try to shop after work, especially during winter. New self-checkout registers are already dirty; partly a fault of manufacturer who left a 1/4 gap all around glass scanner, which is now filled with gross stuff. 1 or 2 homeless people (not as many as a year ago) in store and in parking lot. This week saw a guy walking around with his sickly-looking dog following him through the store OFF-LEASH. Staff unfriendly. When i asked where a product was that Ive bought for years but couldnt find, the employee just shrugged. Zero help. All these problems could be solved by better management.***Issues with blight are a symptom of extremely poor city government. Hundreds of cities throughout the U.S. are breathtaking and beautiful...this doesnt happen by accident! The people that live in those cities arent magically neater. Attractive cities with beautiful thoroughfares are the direct result of diligent planning, strict design codes, strict landscaping requirements and aggressive enforcement of city codes. Unfortunately Sacramento with its hundreds of run-down buildings, broken sidewalks and weed-filled lots is now as unattractive as Stockton.

8/5/23 Edit: I give 5 stars to some of your late afternoon/evening staff. Galina(sp?, She works customer service), Stanley (customer service), Robert, not sure what his title is as he does a bit of a lot of stuff, cart roundup, helping customers find stuff, answering customer questions and so on. There are a few others, Ill add their names here when I remember them (Im horrible with names, Im lucky I remembered the above 3 names...lol).Now the reason I have yet to bump you up to 5 stars is:Homeless are still a problem outside, your security does do a decent job keeping most trouble out side, but then the customer has to deal with the homeless right outside the door.Parking: You redid the front row of parking but you put the disabled parking furthest from the door, with regular parking right by the doors. And your employees often take up those spots including one of your security guards with his Porsche (Im not hating on the Porsche, they are my favourite male of cat), but clearly hes able to walk. He should leave that spot open for customers or better yet, turn that into a disabled spot as its right by the door and by a ramp entrance. (Im not disabled, but had family that were and recently have a friend who was temporarily disabled, and still is for a month or so, shes healing from surgery, now saying that, thats why I notice disabled parking more.)Deli: now I know this is due to staffing issues, but Im still going to complain, it would be lovely if the deli would remain open until 8pm at least. (again I know its staffing, but its still annoying if you get there at 7pm and its closed because the staff already started to clean up. I know I could get their earlier, but in the summer, I like shopping later in the evening due to the heat, because I walk, I need to wait for the heat to die down a bit)Free promotion stuff: this I blame more on corporate, unless its head store management? But I know corporate knows about these free promotions ahead of schedule, it would be lovely if they sent extra to stores with a memo, this is for free promotion on such n such weekend only unload them and only unload a certain number a day. That way everyone has a better chance at trying stuff. Its a bit messy outside in the parking lot in a lot of homeless people hang out there I dont know what theyre doing maybe theyre shopping too its convenient because its the only thing thats open in midtown area at that time of morning the hours are very late they close at 1:00 a.m. everyday Monday through Sunday and theyre open very early in the morning I think at 6:00 a.m. I never been there that early but they are most of the things you need there usually stock more than I can say for most other stores and the staff and the employees are very friendly they also have a Starbucks inside the place so if you want some coffee you got your favorite

I was in store today (8/20/18) and the staff was so friendly and helpful. The BBQ pork fr the Chinese deli is very good. Was there at about 12:30 an only waited about 2-3 minutes before I was waited on. When I went to check out there was no wait time. Staff was so helpful and knowledgeably about where products are and the quality of the products. I will be returning as often as I can. Store is very clean and is laid out very well .

If you survive the homeless gauntlet you will be greeted by a very unhappy staff. Prices are a rollercoaster from day to day. When you finally make it to the register prepare to wait and wait and wait because they never have more than two lanes open at a time. The self checkout only takes credit cards so thats helpful. As a former career grocery associate, I probably see a supermarket differently than yall. I have the choice of 2 different Safeway stores within about a mile each. I choose the smaller and perhaps more diverse clientele store. I find this store mostly clean, partially well-stocked and a staff as good as any*. I regularly shop about 3 times in 2 months, so a pretty good sized shopping cart full. I go over my receipt line by line and occasionally have an error, but its not worth the time or effort to bring it up to the store. It is usually in their favor though. They recently did a reset so Im not used to getting around the store yet. *The biggest complaint Ive got is their pharmacy. What a joke. As I prepare to dump this pharmacy for good, I still have anxiety brought on by the way this pharmacy works. I said it once, and Ill repeat it.... this pharmacy is a joke. There is a Rite-Aid next door, do yourself a favor, skip the Safeway pharmacy. Did I mention they are a joke?!

Great having a Safeway Alhambra and 29th area and Del taco and McDonalds close by as well. Safeway has been a favorite of mine for their floral department, and you will not be disappointed to give it a try. seriously gorgeous and its always something different so I love to wander around and its a great way to brighten my day each time I shop at a Safeway.

Dirty, unsafe, and unwelcoming environment. The store contracted security is aggressive and I once witnessed them following a person off the property. The persons scarf fell as they were leaving and the short security guard kicked the persons scarf into a puddle and stepping on it preventing the person from picking it up. 0/10.

Love this store, even the late night hours theyre open, but I absolutely hate the guy (kid) in the check out who works the midnight/late shift..... I have never been treated so badly!!!! One evening shopping there, in line to pay, the line started growing & growing, and he flipped out because he was the only checker. He starts to be aggressive with my groceries, didnt give me a receipt, cussed like you would not believe, was mad I left my groceries in a BYO bag!! Now I cuss too, but, to a customer!? Not my fault the lines long, so dont take it out on me. I cant believe how Rude someone can be. Ive stopped going to this store, unbelievable worst customer service ever ........

Well the deli woman (older blonde who apparently blew cigarette smoke in my daughter s direction meaning she smokes by the entrance) isnt very friendly and ignores customers and lied to a customer about it only being two people when there were at least 3 (bit of a bit pick but the chick has an attitude problem) we were telling her things we wanted (plenty of food in hotbox my daughter can confirm) she aggressively squeezed the JoJo potatos and after serving us the 16 piece she proceeded to walk away and came back some time later (not sure the amount didnt keep track of time) then acts surprised that we were still there asking if we needed something else I responded that I was trying to tell you what else but you just walked away she responded if I dont cook no one eats with a rancid attitude behind it ..I dont appreciate being met with malice whilst trying to feed my kids

Safeway is the bombwith five dollar Friday. I almost forgot until this review reminded me. last Friday I had their rib tips for $5 those were the best ribs I have tasted in a very long time but everyone is fond of their $5 Friday.I always find a good parking space when I go there. customer service is great

The parking lot is not the best. Spaces are tight and avoid coming here if its rush hour. This coming from someone who gets really bad anxiety and wants to run out when its overcrowded. The deli counter could probably use more employees as it seems like it takes a while before someone comes out to help. I actually avoid getting sliced meats and cheeses because of it. But I do have to say that the security staff is very courteous. They seem like they actually enjoy their jobs. And while lines can get long, usually cashiers are very friendly. A few days ago my large raspberry container slid out of my bag and spilled all over the floor. Mortified and sad at the loss, I started picking them up right away, apologizing profusely about the mess. The cashier immediately let me know I could go grab another container, no problem. And someone who looked like a manager helped me clean them up and assured me it was ok to grab another container. Things may not be perfect, but I feel like theyre doing their best.

Never had a bad experience here. Although you cant bring your dog inside or carry in side. Until 4-4-2023 I never had a bad experience with any employee. Today at 1:43 pm, I was checked out by checkstand #3 With the employee named Sameca. She was in a bad mood or something. Very disappointed. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay away from that lane. She is a mood killer. Thank God for employee named Susan, she saved the day with her knowledge of coupons. Angelica helped us with a bouquet ( even though she doesnt work in floral anymore) that we needed In a rush.. She was about to end her shift and leave for the day but was extremely kind and stayed back to get us probably one of the best bouquets ever that we have got done this far. She definitely is an epitome of what it takes to keep the customers happy and her Do what it takes attitude is just awesome. Went there yesterday and experienced some horrible customer experience and it was from a manager. If it wasnt for some of the employees being friendly and helpful Id probably rate it 1 star. Honestly if you want to shop at Safeway do yourself a favor and go to the location on 19th street. They have a better selection of items, a full meat counter, and you wont have to deal with the same rude manager that I did.

I generally enjoy shopping at this store, it’s a great location & nice staff. I bring my service animal each time I go, but today was stopped by a manager and told that I wasn’t allowed to have my ESA animal inside :/ I understand some people think it’s unnecessary but it changed my whole shopping experience. Since I walked to the store I rushed through nervous & upset trying to get my items so I could get back out to my animal before going home.

Sac PD constant presence is required to maintain order, which at first I was worried about. Honestly, I feel more comfortable that an officer is there watching everything. I have reported shoplifters but they just let them go. Theres always a loophole for losers. Dare I ask them to earn their meals like the rest of us. So much of the clientele is sub-par. But I will say that most/all employees are outstanding. That in itself keeps me coming back.

I prefer not to go to this Safeway unless I really need something and its on my way home from work. There are always panhandlers and homeless hanging out and often inside. On this trip, I got the benefit of seeing what appeared to be a homeless couple inside in a shouting match and the woman spit in the mans face. I have had staff lie to me in order to keep from helping me find something, which I eventually found myself. When I reported to the assistant manager, he just shrugged it off. On a separate occasion I called the store to ask a question and was hung up on. Lines are always long because there are never enough cashiers so be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. Its much nicer since they did the remodel, but if you look at Safeways history they have a shady past. I agreed, and then before I left I decided I needed a couple more items including some AAA batteries. I go through a lot of those with my flashlight so I like to buy in quantity item or discounted price but I figured I would spend locally.Well Im back in our use the restroom having had a cup of coffee which is a great laxative I know what I like shopping the security guard and the cop followed me everywhere. Now I must admit, I do exist something semi irregular Behavior being manic bipolar type 1 OCD and latent adult ADHD, but I dont think its right to the shopping and giving money to Safeway. so, Im going to call the management and tell him that because they asked me to leave and not come back for 24 hours. I said I appreciate your professional Behavior but I dont think Ill be back if this is the way Im going to be treated.

Generally, I like Safeway. This one is in mid-town near my job and has more than a bit of an inner-city vibe, so I steer clear except for emergencies. Its a small store, gets a lot of foot traffic, and they tend to pack a lot of stuff in there for the small size to make sure they carry what customers need. Parking can be bad during peak hours so plan accordingly. If youre used to a suburban Safeway and cant find what youre looking for, I recommend asking the staff. They are friendly when you dont approach them yelling and looking cross-eyed. Otherwise I notice many of them tend to avoid eye contact with customers.... nothing personal.

Ordered coffee from very nice Kyle at Starbucks in store. Told him I would be back after checking out my groceries. Went to self checkout. Not working. Went to ONLY checkout lane open. 7 people in line. 3 more people added to line. I finally walked up to checker and asked if he could call for help. He did . No one came. May I point out that this is the time of morning when people are trying to get to work or as in my situation Im here from Spokane, Washington, caring for my friend who is very ill. Some girl finally came up. Instead of picking up pace and getting customers taken care of they bitched back and forth about who was supposed to be there. Why is self checkouts working etc. store has signs hanging everywhere saying more than 3 people in line we will open up more registers. My suggestion. Pay for employees. Not misleading signs. I will come back for coffee while Im here from the excellent people in your in house Starbucks. My groceries. Im going down the road.

It is a convient place to shop for groceries, while living downtown where there is a lot of social, business and leisure places to go and visit, you can also stop by this location to do the necessity shopping for your home. I gave this location a 4 due to shopping for a particular wine, that this location did not have, I had to get on my knees to find something close to it. I didnt like that at all. Safeway is a chain that thrives on customer satisfaction and I didnt see why I couldnt find my particular wine, or why I had to bend down on my knees to find something close to it. Love the customer service.Ok I loved the customer service but ever since the security team took over the business I will probably never think about shopping at there store or even stores ever again all I want to do is shop not feel like a thief or whatever they think everyone is that walks in there store trying to spend money.

Lines r long. Only 2 lanes open at 4pm the rest of the checkers were stocking shelfs. What happened to open a lane if 3 R in one line?The were 7 in my line and i stood still for 5 mins. Not one employee asked if i needed help while I was shopping instead they cut me off without excuse me. Not 1st time either. 1 star for the store.

When entering the register to purchase my food, there were two people ahead of me, i put my 5 items on the conveyer belt. Another cashier called to the line that she was open on 3 and that she would be there in a moment. I felt she should have taken then next in line, who was a man that only had a bagel. She rang up her 3 customers and then moved on to self serve. While we were still in line waiting for the first customer to be completed, now,normally this wouldnt have bothered me, however, I had a broken toe and standing there waiting was not good. I would have used the self service but they were not open when I got up to the register. The one good thing is that the gentle man that helped me was friendly.

The posh Safeway is on 19th Street. This is the East sac neighborhood store where the its more of a mixed bag of clients, seniors, homeless, and teenagers. But security is very visible and only occasionally does someone run without paying. I shop there twice a week and the staff is very responsive to your needs. Its a friendly place.

I walked here on my lunchbreak today despite having had issues ordering from the deli there in the past trying to get a cheese and veggie sandwich (I dont get why, but its a problem every time but only at this location) today I thought if I just ordered something from their board exactly as it came there would be no problem. Smh. I ordered and she kept asking questions even though I asked for it exactly as it normally came. I was in a hurry on my 30 minute lunch and had to just pay and run back to work where I found that my hot sandwich had not been heated and the bread it was on was hard as a rock. I just dont get it.

Well since they closed the Safeway here in west Sacramento, we come to the one at Alhambra ave.its nice and clean,always have a variety of items we need..produce section is so colorful.. Nice people too...its always nice and cool when youre walking in from the heat outside...

I am constantly disappointed with both midtown Safeway stores for most of the same reasons. My biggest issue being they are both understaffed during heavy volume times of the day. Two registers open plus the self check does not cut it. Seriously, living in midtown, it is faster and less stressful to drive to Save Mart in east Sac than it is to shop at either Safeway. I will say at least the Alhambra store has a decent parking lot.

Clean and extremely well presentation of items to buy and its not saying hey come buy me, I was able to concentrate well on my items that I wanted to buy and that impress me to go back again and again. You should try the Deli the chicken is delicious. The service is great and they (All Safeways) will go as far as touching the item you asked for if its something you cant find and dont forget Safeway has already built a name up for themselves concerning quality and service.

I was going to give this place Zero stars, but the employees are nice. No waiting 3 people or less? lol try 10 people or less. i live right by it. I go there 3-4 times per week. Never ever enough checkers open. the last 3 times i was there, there were 13+ of us in line. yes actually 13+, on 3 separate occasions. this was at 830 pm so maybe they didnt have a full staff, but 830pm? cmon. it was sill light outside.but thats not even the worst part. Very rarely do they have hand baskets by the door, i usually have to go hunt them down by the registers, apologetically sidling up to people in the checkout lines. But hey, they do have the convenient self check-out. Hey great, quick and easy right? wrong. you will usually have to wait 2-5 minutes to find an attendant to give you a bag(s) ..which now cost $0.10. the price is fine, going on an attendant hunt, trying to find someone to access the highly secure 10 cent paper bag repository, is a MASSIVE pain. Look out, Someone might try to steal a 10 cent paper bag... not all the more expensive stuff next to the paper bag repository, just the paper bags. Make sure those puppies arent going anywhere. still not the worst part though. at least once a month I have to return or throw away something that has been opened on the shelf by someone else. The seafood section is slimy looking and smells like it looks. So i stick to the beef section. MISTAKE. For the 2nd time in 6 months Ive gotten food poisoning from their meat, though it may have been their chopped fruit bowl. I was in southern mexico for a longer period of time and didnt get food poisoning at all. This last bout of BAD MEAT sent me to Urgent care. The Doc said it was Listeria likely from contaminated meat. Which makes sense cause 2 other people ate the meat with me and got ill as well. Good times. felt like I was going to die.That was the last straw for this place. Other Safeway stores have always been great. Must be the management.BTW if you decide you want to experience the ride yourself, bring change, youre gonna have to pay off the numerous homeless people as you make your way from the parking lot to the store..that is IF you can find a parking spot., and you drive a sub compact.Whomever manages this place should ashamed. I never want to see people fired from there jobs, but this is flat out, blatant, flagrant, repeated dereliction of duty.I hope no-one else gets sick. Im done with this store.

Pretty crowded, has the Safeway deli foods as all the others do however, because its a crowded spot, they are often out of the more popular items you want (it is depending on the time you go though, you definitely have to beat the crowd here).

Im not a fan of Safeway. My favorite supermarket is WinCo, followed by Foodmaxx, and I kinda like Whole Foods.Safeway is the most expensive supermarket I know of. Their vegetables make Whole Foods lol like a bargain.Their stores are still laid out to make our shopping visits unnecessarily time-consuming, separating the most-purchased items with miles of aisles where they hope their ADHD customers will mindlessly purchase anything at eye level. 🥰Their service levels dont justify their pricing.

Went into this safeway, i was craving one of their made to order artisan sandwiches. Arrived at 7:25 p.m. walked up to the artsian sandwich place theres was two employees standing there talking to a customer. They look up at me and ask if i needed something and said i wpuld like a sandwich please. They then told me they where closed. Wich really confused me because they arent supposed to close that section till 9 p.m. So I went to customer service to ask the manager what time there sandwich place closed. He informed me they closed at 9 p.m. So I asked him why I was turned away and told that they were already closed? So he walked me back over to the sandwich place. Now there was only one employee back there. And he asked her what time she closes and she proceeded to say 8 p.m which by then it was only 725. So I asked her why she told me she was closed and she said because she has to clean the entire deli section by herself. And I said well if it doesnt close till 8 or 9 then why are you cleaning it now. She then tells me that she wanted to get off exactly at 8 p.m. remind you this is all happening with the manager standing right next to me him saying absolutely nothing. By this time I was angry I was shocked I was disappointed in the customer service. Finally the manager looked at her and she asked me if i wanted a sandwich but she wasnt very happy when she asked me. And of course I told her no I wouldnt want you to do any extra cleaning and work on my behalf. I told them that Im going to go get a sandwich somewhere else with someone who actually wants to do their job. Seriously where Safeway Ive ever been too. Not happy!

Staff gives attitude if you asks for a rain check. Also when you come back with a rain check they give you attitude once again, nobody knows how to process it. The cashier try to scan a coupon and it didnt work, Instead of giving it back tome she pretended it worked, after chheckingg my receipt, I saw I got no discount and no coupon.They need to change the supervisor/manager.I will drive 20 min extra for Target instead of dealing with them again.I always have bad experience at this Safeway. Their stuff in sale is never on stock.

Safeway is one of my favorite go to stores especially since its close to my home. I had a craving for german chocolate cake so I got up and went to buy one. Got my Covid booster shot. Safeway has a nurse at the location where they give vaccines. Other places I have seen, like RiteAid, the pharmacist provide the shots, so they are juggling between duties of pharmacy and shot giver. Long waits are the result of that from my experience. At my Safeway, I checked, waited a few minutes, got my shot, waited ten minutes after to make sure I was ok and hot the road. Very simple and easy.

This place sell some of the worst deli food in Sacramento its never fresh they lie to your face and say was made fresh in the morning when its not. Came here to get some sandwiches the lettuce on it was rotten the meat that was hanging out of the bread had dried even though it was wrapped in Saran wrap it had still dried. I took it back in the supposed manager of twenty years gave me attitude then acted like everything was Super Fresh. they also dont wear gloves when theyre doing the deli work the other sandwich that I got had a flavor of hand lotion to it. If I could say one thing its that you should never come here always go to the one on 19th. This is the worst store in Sacramento Food Source on Broadway has 10 times the quality of this one and that isnt even saying anything

Because of security concerns, I havent shopped at this Safeway in awhile. However, the Alhambra Safeway is making a comeback. I saw security and a Sac PD officer watching outside late tonight. I felt comfortable coming in and shopping. The staff was friendly. As long as security is good, Ill be back.

I went to pick up my elderly neighbors prescription. She told me that she called and was told that they wouldnt be closed for lunch because they had enough staff and pharmacists there. when I got there the pharmacy was closed and had to wait 40 minutes to pick up her prescription. Its a good supermarket. Its a bit more expensive than some others and I havent shopped there much. Since I dont shop there much I dont know my way around but the staff is very good about showing you around.
