One of the best stores for daily shopping for what the housewife and the rest of the family need, the goods and everything that is offered there are of the finest varieties. They have a special section for making all kinds of salads, as well as a distinct section for making fresh sushi. I did not find a donut or bagel tastier than what is made and displayed in the special bakery section goods elsewhere. I recommend visiting it at least three times a week

They overcharged me for a birthday cake, the Associate who supervises the cashiers, or the front area, I believe Samantha (white lady with tattoos on her chest and short hair, in her 50s but pretends to be a young girl) is rude, incompetent and nonprofessional to handle customers issues. The store manager, the young lady, supported her that she is good with customers, that tells me even the store manager is incompetent and nonprofessional. Hey, I got my money back! You dealt with the wrong customer who holds two degrees in management. I can offer a free training for ya ladies.

I asked a worker if i could use there bathroom and they gave me a dirty look for merely asking? why? a common fear of mine is asking customer service a question and then annoying the employee even though their meant to help customers. never ever asking to use the bathroom again.

Sold me spoiled milk. & also their fresh cut fruits are under the amount they claim to be. They chop it up in large pieces so you only get one cut of each fruit. Disappointing.

This store has the worst service Ive experienced in years. They dont care about their customers. The app shows an item is in stock, then instructs you to ask an associate. When you ask where it can be found, the answer: I dont know . Employees dont memorize everything in the store . Bad treatment isnt an isolated event. My first couple of trips there, I wrote off the lack politeness/help, thinking it might be bad timing on my part. However, every single time I go there I am surprised again by their disdain for customers. I happily now drive miles out of my way to go to Raleys where you can always count on employees who are eager to be helpful.

So, Im walking through Safeway with an associate to show me something when my sandal broke and feel of my foot as I was walking. So embarrassing. She was very kind and she showed me where they had flip flops to match my sun dress Im wearing, and on my way to church. Thank you God, I didnt have to go into church shoeless. I usually stop by for a few things after work. Great bakery. Tasty bao buns and other last minute dinner items. Starbucks kiosk inside. 4 self check out registers. Safeway select items are good. UPDATED: Korey was super helpful in self-checkout. I only say this because in all my years of self-checkout, I usually have to flag someone down (at any store, not just here) but he was paying attention and saw I had 50% off items in my cart (we all need to save where we can in this economy) and said let me know when you get to the discounts so I can help you out. So I did and he was fast with the editing. Super star employee. He deserves a raise!

I like Safeway..if you have their app..it is amazing. Today I got large packs of pork chop steaks for .88 cents a pound. I got 3 pounds of thick bacon for 7.99.They give you special coupons and savings for having the app.Today my total was 67.14...I paid only 31.96. I saved more than I spent with all the coupons...woohoo.Last month I bought 60 dollars in groceries and bought only the save u more sale items...I only paid 28.00. Regular items are very expensive...but you can get amazing deals...Thank you Lord...If you shop there...download the app and get the Safeway card...they will give you exclusive deals.

This Store is very clean and the employees are efficient and courteous. The courtesy clerk Mark is very kind and goes out of his way to help us out every time we visit and he is working. The store security seems to be very effective as I feel very safe as they follow Me around the store I its like having a Crew of Body Guards. I like this store, and I often visited it, when the doctor was taking this area. Its nice and clean, fresh goods, there is a place to relax, sit inside the store and outside, which is very important where you can eat soup or drink coffee, and its great. But I am contraindicated to go by car, I go here my foots alone for almost an hour, so I can not be here as often as I want.04.09.2024. They destroyed the hot soups and what was a cozy place with tables where you could sit and eat, both inside the store and outside. And became too expensial, and it is not better than the Walmart on Manzanita Ave. But the store is cleaner, nicer than other stores of the same brand.

8:30 at night. 1 checker .. 8 people in line. 1 was disabled. The young man was doing a really good job but he had no help..not a bagger or another checker. People were asking to please put on another checker but it fell on deaf ears. Of course there were 2 employees chatting aand laughing over by the self checkouts. You can tell thruout the store that the employees who were there are not happy.. a few downright grumpy.. GET THEM HELP!

This Safeway is one of my neighborhood favorites. Its in a convenient location, and itll they dont have what you are looking for, they are conveniently located close to other comparable (if not differently priced) grocery stores. Pros: Ii believe there are 8 self check outs, and minimum (1) 15 items or less regular check-out line with a clerk. Spaces in parking lot are ample, meaning wide enough to park and lots of spots. Cons: apparently their are more parking spots than shopping carts, to be fair they ran into of carts last time, and the parking lot was also full, so...

Ive shopped this store for awhile no problems at all I would of gave 5+ stars then they found out that my girlfriend and I was living in our car there service changed like night and day because of the way they changed up on us I know take my money else where which causes me to loss out on the great deals and money saving rewards that Id use putting gas into my home 2 maybe 3 times a month its all good though were I shop now they keep a smile on there face and even give us leads to community resources thanks but no thanks Safeway on Dewey

As a vendor who frequents several Safeway stores daily, this store, in particular, is one that truly stands out. Kelly is the epitome of excellent customer service. She goes above and beyond, works very hard, but always has a positive attitude and super nice. Its these little things that can truly make an impact for a business. All the Safeway employees in all the stores Ive been in have been wonderful and quite helpful, but Kelly truly exceeds expectations.

Quality of everything is always pretty good, but price gouging seems to be a thing at Safeway now. Its making it really hard to justify making a trip to this store when all i need to do is drive 4 more minutes down the road to a different grocery store and pay almost half of what Safeway charges. Definitely more of a neighborhood store. If you’re not a regular Safeway shopper than the prices for not having a membership are a little high, so wouldn’t be my go to for a quick trip kinda thing. The selection of product was pretty decent and I did like the floral department it was well stocked and maintained overall a decent store. Heads-up the self checkout system in this location is a little dated so just pay attention to the options on screen and you’ll be on 😂

I went into Safeway for beer and a kielbasa...the store is always clean and never crowded, the shelves are always well stocked, they have some items that you cant find anywhere else... the clerk was very friendly and helpful. Its a nice place to shop for groceries

There was a man waiting on line for longer then 30 plus minutesThey told him there was only one employee that could help him and helped everyone else in line after making us wait for 15 min. I have a soft spot when it comes to going to Safeway for my needs. They may be a little higher priced than most of your grocery stores, but their quality outweighs most. Particularly in their meat department. I have been going to Safeway stores for over 30 years, and have never been disappointed. If you have a problem in any area of their store, guaranteed they will make it right, be it in the grocery department or pharmaceutical. Its Safeway all the way hands down!! So customer service is good when you talk to a manager. So I did a online order for a pick up time. That time came and went never got a notification that I was completed or that it will be completed. Called the store spend 20 mins trying to reach someone, I was placed on hold and transfer so many times I lost count, finally got a manager and they were able to assist me. I got home and they made substitutions I didnt approve and they never notified me.i called again to try and get this resolved and again I was placed on hold transfered to different departments including Starbucks, finally got to a manager I had to drive back to to store and return the items that I didnt want again the manager was very nice.... NOW the reason for the 2 stars I go to get the bakery fresh bread I got from this store yesterday not even opened and there was bugs in the bag it was small bugs in it. I checked the bag it was brand new never opened.

This is a well stocked grocery store but it is terribly managed. They shut down the self checkout before 9 pm every night and then will only have 1 check stand open (2 if the express is open). There are never any hand baskets no matter what time of day you come in. The checkers are great but clearly whoever makes the schedule is no good. Maybe offer better wages so you can get more good people in.

It was very crowded and there were no carts to be found. I took the last hand basket but my purchases made it to heavy for me to carry. Thankfully a woman in line with me at the pharmacy gave me her cart because she said she wasnt going to buy anything. Then on the way out a half hour later a woman approached me outside when she couldnt find one and asked if she could have my cat once I loaded my groceries into the car. So I took a start off for them not collecting carts but I did appreciate the checkout guy separating my groceries from 2 bags to 3 when he noticed I was having trouble lifting one of them. A little nicer than the average Safeways Im used to. Its clean and organized, so they either take pride in the store, or are just overstaffed. Clean bathrooms. Went to pick up my COVID-19 test kits. And did a little shopping. Was looking for bear claws for breakfast tomorrow but couldnt find any they only had the cheese ones. And I hate them. They had a lot of baked goods on the shelf that were expired or would be expired today. Was not happy about that. Dont understand why a big store like Safeway would leave expired baked goods on the shelf. This was the store on Dewey Street in Citrus Heights. Just check the dates before you buy anything.

Most of the employees are rude, the guy that works customer service is great but Kathy that works the self checkout is very rude and has said i was stealing multi. times I have been in there and I spend a lot of money there. The store manager is very nice but some of the other managers are very rude and act like they dont have time to help you. There are always people out front begging for money and the homeless problem has got really bad . people are all ways stealing and nobody stops them. Lately the shelves are all ways empty so you cant find anything and the prices are very high. Only reason i go there is its very close to my house.

There were so many staff working here. Product selection was excellent with lots of good options for everything I was looking for from more affordable choices to really high quality stuff. Everything looked really fresh from meat to produce to perishables to deli and bakery. Displays were full, store was clean. No wait at the registers with plenty of checkatands open. This is the Grocery store that I shop at the most due to distance and available items they carry. The deli has good selection from Boars head and friendly staff. I really appreciate the Safeway Floral Departments, what beautiful arrangements and top of the line quality on flowers and house plants. I can honestly say Ive only had ONE minor issue. They were always out of chocolate frozen yogurt. When I asked If I could submit a request for it. I found out you have to be ordering a flat of it before they can submit an order. Their distributor has a minimum order requirement. That wasnt really Safeways fault, it was the distributors. Other than that, I LOVE shopping there. The people are friendly, and fun. They actually remember your name and say hi when they see you. Theyll stop and ask you how youre doing, ask if you need any help. Or if they arent busy theyll walk with you through the store, talking and listening. Offering helpful suggestions on cheaper pricing on products. Or helping lift things or find things. As a disabled person it makes me feel like they care about me. Not just as a customer, but as a neighbor.

We had exceptional service at the pharmacy. Fast courteous and so helpful. After leaving the hospital we had to pick up a few things and they were great. The store was clean and well stocked. Decided to give this place a try again yesterday as I got some coupons in the mail from them earlier in the week . Most coupons did not match what sales they had in the store, bathrooms seemed to be not tended to all day which is embarrassing as there restrooms are public, employees seemed to be in a daze as there was no work to be done ? I will never return to this Safeway as both times Ive been here I feel as I wasted my time and as mangers / supervisors must not care about there store . We travel past our closest Safeway to shop at this one. The store is clean and always well stocked. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. He has EXCELLENT MANAGERIAL SKILLS... His customer service is beyond Excellent!You also have a woman in the late evening... My favorite Safeway. You can usually find everything you need here, the store is usually very well stocked with everything. This store has an awesome bakery and it also has a pharmacy. Huge selection of wine and beer as well as hard liquor. Their deli has some delicious sandwiches as well as different hot foods from fried Chicken to mac and cheese and different types of salads. Forgot to mention that this store also has a butcher shop inside of it that has mainly beef and some seafood items.

Ice maker broke in fridge. Needed ice cube trays, niece said try Safeway. We did and found the trays quickly and easily, asked an employee for the coordinates. Still couldnt leave with just ice cube trays. Got kitty litter, hamburger buns, naked juice (blue machine), toilet paper, and banannas. Great folks working here, spotless inside, quick checkout, friendly, engaging cashier who made it fun at checkout. Im going back, tired of Costcos impersonal service (but great prices).

Update Sept 2022: Since last review we had started going to the Safeway on Greenback because it is more spacious but recently noticed despite it being big it seemed to have less variety. Came back to this Safeway and see that even though it is smaller it seems to be better stocked, strange. The wait on line was relatively short. Parking is OK, you just need to be on the lookout for people driving too fast. My husband was walking around the store with a full hand basket. He still needed a few items so he headed to the front to get a cart. A store associate was walking in and asked if he need something and my husband said he was thinking about getting a cart. He said would you like me to get one for you? and my husband said no its okay Ill get it. He walked to the doors since all the carts are out front by the door. As he approached the door a different associate that said he was a manager snatched the hand basket from my husband and said get out, get out now! Leave! My husband replied whats going on? What do you mean? He told my husband to just leave and he walked away with the basket. My husband walked out and then came back in for an explanation and the associate told him he was a shoplifter. He had not stolen anything and had not even exited the store. My 2 year old and I were at home waiting for for these groceries. I called the store and spoke with the manager, Brandon, who said he knew nothing of this event happening just moments before I called. So, Im not sure who told my husband they were the manager. Brandon took my contact information and said he would give it to the store manager in the morning to contact me. I can understand being cautious for shoplifters, but my husband and I are regular customers. We come in there almost daily. All they would have needed to do is put my phone number in to see our activity. I was bewildered and shocked by this associates attitude and lack of customer service. He embarrassed my husband and denied him services off of a suspicion of possible shoplifting that hadnt even occurred. My husband is a disabled veteran and would never shoplift. Im not sure what kind of manager they have in the front who cannot even assess the situation and immediately goes to insulting and presuming inaccurate situations. No one asked if my husband was stealing or if he was going to purchase the items; they just kicked him out. We do not feel comfortable going back here and this is our neighborhood grocery store that we loved.

Just left this store with my bf at 10:37 pm after hearing Brian ( who appeared to be manager or staff) yelling down the aisle at the blonde cashier that the only people who should enforce the 6 feet apart social distancing guidelines are those who believe the coronavirus is real.Are 200,000 lives joke to your staffers, Safeway?

Very poor costumer service! No metter what time I whent to the store to send money Western Union I had to wait to be serviced because the personal it is in lunch time! And nobody could hepl me!???I ask for a manager and the answer was that I cant be helped by a manager because no one has the cod Nr for service. I been told to wait for 30 min! It is always a problem...no person to assist, no card reader I have to get gum (or something)so they can give me money to be able to make transactions.I would like Safeway to have a sign saying personal in lunch...not just having people wait and wait...My time is precious...to just like the worker having lunch....

Good selection of dry goods and produce. I have been able to find several odd or uncommon ingredients on the shelves. Store is clean. Lines tend to be long on weekends, however.

I always shop at the Safeway in Fair Oaks. They have good selection and good sales. Recently they rearranged everything... Im not too happy about it, but Ill learn to like it.

Its close and easy to shop in. I particularly like the pharmacy. Its helpful and convenient and they take our insurance. Their bakery is outstanding. I could go on and on.

Always super clean and well stocked. I just wish it wasnt so expensive. The staff is great tho, and honestly its almost worth the extra money.

I go to the Safeway on Dewey because of all the Safeways in the area its one of the cleanest and best filled with the types of foods that I eat.

The fold of the apes the way the story set up the fresh produce a peoples kindness helpfulness the way times the price especially if you go in like $5 day meat always looks fresh I have no major complaints at all I was very happy to be there today

This is my neighborhood grocery store. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I love the pharmacy staff, theyre always helpful and professional. The sandwich bar is awesome.

This is a really nice Safeway store. Comes across as a fully stocked, high-end grocery store but actually is a nice store with moderate prices and amazing selection. Awesome deli inside.

Safeway on Dewey is awesome! Always fresh vegetables and fruit. The store personnel are ALWAYS helpful and pleasant. I can find one of a kind items too.

I call this location MY Safeway! Its my favorite location in the area. The staff is super friendly and their shelves are always stocked. Highly recommend this location. They work hard and provide stellar service!

Its Valentines Day and still this Safeway was great. The employees were still incredibly helpful and nice, and the store was still not incredibly crowded. In and out, good trip.

Used to love Safeway but 3s a crowd is long gone and I often spend more time now in line then I do shopping. Plenty of managers with too few crew.
