We had a great experience in this store. The customer service was exemplary. Ruth in the deli quickly answered our call, we asked about what was is stock over the holiday weekend and she helped and was friendly. When we arrived she continued to help and was so nice. I have gotten so used to bad service that she was a big breath of fresh air. I will return because I feel like a valued customer.

AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICEI live in Atlanta, Georgia, and I was ordering treats for my great niece and nephews for Halloween via phone. I attempted to do it online and website is not user-friendly whatsoever.I spoke with Miss Nikki this morning in the bakery. She took everything down that I requested to make the 3 orders extra special!Updated the pictures! So if you like dog butts in the cart where your groceries go then this is the place for you. A lady had her pitbull in a grocery cart and was shopping. I understand people love their animals but it is a health and safety issue. I would rather not have tapeworm or pin worm eggs mixed in with my produce. Told the grocery store clerk and he acted like he could care less, too bad for that attitude. Not to hard saying excuse me maam no pets in carts where food goes.

Safeway is always good, if not overpriced. Safeway is like Raleys. No one goes there for the prices, they go there for the experience! Its like having two stores in Hollywood. Department stores. They are side by side. One? Sells the same brand items, the same clothing lines, the same jewelry as the store next to it, which seeks everything priced low, they choose the lower price model and volume sales, over high prices and fewer sales, but those sales net them even more than the other. Where did everyone go? The now expensive store! Its the in, the place everyone talks about. Its all the rage! Go figure?

The food at Safeway is the best, unless you go to a little, boutique, store that closes at 5. Beautiful produce, the best meat, every brand of everything! But, MY GOD, are they expensive! I saw a steak, ONE steak, for $51.00. That is just stupid, in my opinion. Honestly. So, if you want the best, go to Safeway. But, youre gonna pay for it!

This is my favorite Safeway in the area. I know it gets a bad rep from all the homeless people around, but honestly MOST of them are respectable enough and dont bug you for money. What really sets this Safeway apart from the one on Cypress and Anderson Safeway are the employees. Employees come and go, but I have NEVER had one employee be rude or dismissive in any way. They go above and beyond.

Ive been going to this store my whole life shopping, grabbing sandwiches, and my favorites the breakfast burritos. Trudy is the only friendly person in the deli department. Anytime I go when shes not in Im blatantly ignored, I waited today for 10 minutes to get breakfast with my daughter and was made eye contact with several times, and never once acknowledged. I understand if theres a ton of other customers, but Im literally the only person in the entire area. This has happened 3 times in the last 3 weeks in the mornings. Im just saying all you see is smug old ladies with the grumpiest looks on their faces like they hate their lives and helping you is the biggest burden ever if actually helped. Its insane, if you hate your existence that much than leave the position for a person that actually wants to work, someone who needs it to support their families, someone who will put in effort. Thank you Trudy for being that person and Im sorry you have to work with such unhappy people that dont want to pull any slack. This would be a zero star if it wasnt for you.

Its a nice place to shop just make sure to steer clear of the homless people outside at night. They have a very good selection of products and now they have a mochi bar near the self check out. I thought that was pretty awesome but the prices for each one is a little high when you can get them at another store for cheaper but great idea though.

The beautiful thing about this place is that you will find more organic products. And things are well arranged so much that you will easily find all you need in good time. Prices for some things are a bit higher, and some are cheaper compared to other places.The staff are nice and effective.The entry is not the exit, so watch out, so that you wont merry go round.

I love this store... Theyre only closed from 2am-5am for restocking. They have great prices and they have the cat food I use and they have a lot of lactose free items that my grandma loves... They have something for everyone. Their coolers in the front of the store have delicious sandwiches and other ready -made food.

Always can find what I needed from every day food and drink essentials to specialty foods. I love the fresh produce, meat department and the large variety of ethnic foods. I must say, i was a little disappointed first time I arrived here and stopping in my favorite grocery store for supplies . for some reason, this store or maybe area doesnt carry veal which all other Safeway stores have where Ive traveled for work and have always been able to purchase it from many cities in the Central coastal areas, Bay area and other cities in California .

I have never found pizza sticks a single time that I have gone there with the sole intention of getting them. This is my neighborhood Safeway! Its so great to know your way around a store at be able to run in, run out! This Safeway has a very nice deli that has hot choices like fried chicken and cold choices like sushi, salads, meats, etc. Their bakery has a good selection of bagels, donuts, pies, pastries and The Best Custom Cakes & Frosting! The meat section is loaded with fresh cuts and butchers behind the counter. This store has a generous sized produce department with fresh and prepackaged choices, everyday selections and seasonal specialties! The floral department is great for a quick gift, flowers for your home or special occasion and balloons!

Also land o deli doesnt make a 15 oz package its a 16 oz package. Typo error possibly? Drove there to get hardly anything on my list as it was outta stock or nonexistent.

This is a fantastic Safeway! The restrooms are clean, wheelchair accessible and near the front door. Thank you Safeway! My niece is in a wheelchair and we stopped here for a yogurt parfait with berries cup for breakfast while traveling to the Bay Area. Also fueled up at the Safeway gas station next door. Safeway on cypress is the store you dont want to go to unless you have time to waste and like to watch criminals walk out the store without paying for carts full of goods. Items are often mispriced always in their favor. Mismanaged and overpriced I will never shop there again.

I order from Safeway for delivery all the time. I have the Fresh Pass and it is 1000% worth it for someone with chronic illness like myself. The coupons are amazing and have saved me a lot of money.Something I would like to add is, whoever is doing the online orders will substitute WAY more expensive things, even when I check NO SUBSTITUTIONS on the item.For instance, I ordered some ham steaks that were maybe $1.50 each, and they charged me for and delivered THREE 10 POUND WHOLE HAMS. My fiance had to take them back because it cost me $60!Other than stuff like that, I love that they are now stapling the shoppers names to the order when delivered and are including free samples like muesli and seasoning packets.

This Safeway is nicer than the location downtown in my opinion. I can usually find most everything I need. The reason I gave it only 3 stars is this location at least doesnt have curbside pick up and you cant order for delivery or pickup. I like that I can be in and out of there pretty fast. I was followed by the Safeway security guard I was treated like I was stealing from Safeway for the way I look I am a hard working man that spends $400 a month at Safeway . If you look like you are not wealthy Safe way will have their security guard follow you Safeway will have their employees follow you and they do this in front of people that belong to the community shopping at Safeway and that makes you look like a thief In front of the community . I have tried to contact this store and I cannot get through. Support them if you have no other choice but that is the only reason. Wasteful at every corner. We are in a drought, but apparently they are not, the florist just lets the water run and run while working somewhere else. It’s does not even matter if they are rinsing something, time to change our methods. If you look closely at the in store packaged goods you will see they are not safety sealing them, sometimes a little closure but hardly ever full protective sealing.Deli is slow and back employees don’t step out to assist when customers are waiting.Very sad and unfortunate, I need to go shopping!

Went to get money orders but the line was so long I turned around and left. I do have to admit that it was the first of the month and EVERYONE is paying their bills too. But there was only ONE clerk! I wanted to pick up a Mt. Dew but I forgot after seeing the chaos inside! Oh well, see u next month when I try again. The money order fee is practical because by me, I pay 3 times that for a money order. I usually need 3 or 4 at the same time.

Guys in meat department are lazy. I watched them watching women struggling to find the corned beef that was on sale for $1.99 a pound amongst all the $7.99 a pond corned beef that was not for sale. Especially the heavy set guy cuz he literally just kinda backed up out of site while women were clearly looking around for someone in the meat department for assistance. I tried to help them best I could but basically they were out of the $1.99 ones. That was pretty lame. The checker was deep involved in conversation with the bagger, and made me feel like I was intruding. He only said to me Date of birth?, and that was it! Ive been shopping at Safeway since 1997 when I relocated from Van Nuys (Los Angeles county). They can be pricey but they have really good sales. The employees are friendly courteous funny the best to be around and very knowledgeable. I love there bakery and birthday cakes are the bomb. I give them my thumb up 👍👏😘🐱💖

I have not been a regular shopper at Safeway for a few years. Today I was reminded why. I was working a job nearby and went in to get a case of water. I found a IPhone in the restroom. The cover photo was a young man in a Safeway uniform. So I took it to the customer service desk.After waiting a couple minutes. A woman named Maria came out of the security room. The entire interaction with her was very unpleasant. I walked away feeling like I had bothered and inconvenienced her. I was just trying to do the right thing.

Most of the people that work here are nice, but some of them are not very pleasant to talk with. The place is well kept and there is plenty of options to choose from to make just about any meal. I would give the place 5 stars if I didn’t have to wait in some ridiculously long lines. I really think they need some additional employees to run the cash registers so this didn’t happen so often.

The sushi and dalads were easy to find. I was literally running on fumes and getting close to a hypoglycemic episode. Being able to find those so quickly fended off a very bad experience by providing a safe breakfast, and also allowed me to prepare for lunch, which was the other reason I visited.

They have been moving things around for a while now and its all starting to come together very nicely. My visit tonight was very surprising and I left feeling very impressed. They offer cool out of the ordinary things that most supermarkets dont and they display everything in such a way that it draws your attention. I loved it. It definitely gave the down town Safeway a run for their money. Hands down my new favorite place to shop for my groceries and more.

I have addressed this issue with them several times. When you purchase stuff from this store check the expiration date before buying. For being one of the more upscale stores in town, they sure do not take the time to rotate their product and discard expired food/drinks. The worst being an expired tea drink by over 18 months, that I drank before realizing it was spoiled. That is completely unacceptable. My last pick-up order I purchased chicken and the young ladies who did the shopping, who are NOT new hires, picked out chicken that had a use by date of the date I purchased it & I was scheduled for a 7PM pick-up. Needless to say one of the packs was tossed and more wasted money with Safeway. I realize they are young woman and likely do not understand but that is no excuse. Plus one of them acts so put out by doing that job everytime I have had her being out my order. For the price we all pay to shop there you would think they would pay better mind to the expiration dates and train their employees, especially the ones who have been there for awhile about expiration dates. I rarely visit the other Safeway option on Pine Street after witnessing a rodent eating out of the bagel bin, but they do have better service than the Cypress location when it comes to grocery pick-up. I am a busy mother so calling them with my complaints, which I have, and they do offer compensation but I have never gone in and picked it up because I just dont have the time & its principle. Poor Redding is at a disadvantage when it comes to grocery stores. You either get stuck with a discount market with rotten fruit or a nice grocery store who cannot rotate their product correctly. Moving forward I will be requesting during my pick-up order that I get meat that is not on its last day of being consumed & I will now check it in the parking lot before taking it home to avoid this issue in the future and address it the moment it happens. Its unfortunate that I have such trust issues with this store.

Their ad had a very good special on bakery good so I called the store to inquire about its availability and was told that it was valid and they would be upping the production. When I got to that part of the store they had a light small sign saying that the ad was incorrect. Consitently frustrating to shop here. Its usually crowded with small isles so you cant get through quickly, which you want to do because its not pleasant. The cashiers can be either friendly or completely not. You just never know. The baggers consistently have zero idea how to bag and will scramble all your groceries into the bag. Lindsey the deli manager is the greatest employee ever, i am a disabled navy vet who swallowed radiation among other ailments and she could see the horrible sickness in my face or features and has been there for me to hug to let me talk about whatever and we have a great freindship now.11-22-22, boars head meats the best of the best. And sliced your way, switching Safeways, we didnt know if they would be great at slicing are deli turkey meat the way we love to eat it. They do the best job. This Safeway is a great store! Their floral department always has the most beautiful, & the freshest flowers. Their fruits & vegetables are always fresh & nicely arranged. Their meats are always top notch, & their baked goods are mouth wateringly good!!! They also carry all the other items youd expect to find in a grocery store, & then some. Stopped in yesterday with my husband to grab a bite. Made the mistake of using the restrooms. Both the men’s and women’s restrooms were FILTHY. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a week. Dreadful! The pharmacy didnt return my calls checking on the status of my out-of-town faxed prescriptions. After a fair bit of back and forth, we thought we had it solved. Normally get gas at safeway as I worked at this one for many years. When they went to the 1 way direction they had hoses long enough to reach around your standard pickup. They they decided to put new pumps in a while ago, and for some reason they changed the numbers around on the pumps and shortened the hoses. What used to go across the bed of a tundra and be in the normal position, now barely reaches and you have to have the nozzle upside down. They might reach if you get about 6 inches away from the pump, but God forbid you have to pay at the pump. If you have a truck and cant get in the right way do yourself a favor and just pull in so the tank fill is on the correct side.

Im 30 not 13.One major recent gripe of mine was on super bowl Sunday... Someone in a position of power in the store decided to make a full display of guacamole. Only thing was that they used all the ripe avocados in the store to make it. So if you were like me and wanted a firm but close to ripe avocado to use that afternoon, you were **** out of luck. AND you had to hear whatever poor sap (whos obviously underpaid and under appreciated), announce over the loudspeaker, get your guacamole up front! Our manager made us come in at 3am to make guacamole, so please grab some!! As I walked out, I noticed that guacamole display was about the same. Thanks a lot Safeway.

I was born to a Mamma that shopped at Safeway in Fremont & it was like visiting a second home. Yesterday was not a good experience, it was so negative & about the worst customer service Ive ever had. Our Safeway in Redding has been going down hill for some time now but I think it has hit rock bottom. 51 years of patronage is worth noting to Safeway. It only take a few bad apples to ruin the whole bunch!

Safeway is a good place on Cypress to go and get most anything you want I have yet to find anything when I ask where it may be because theyve always got it the price may be a little high but it is a very good place to go to find what you want to get and the food there this fixed for you and you take it out and go home is excellent

Im disabled and in a powered wheelchair, when my moms truck broke down she couldnt pick me up and that left no way to bring my powered wheelchair home so for the second time they are holding on to my wheelchair till someone can bring me back to pick it up. That is awesome to me!!

I saw about 1/2 of customers and several employees with no masks...also a woman pushing her poorly behaved puppy around in a shopping cart. I love dogs but some people are allergic, and they dont belong in places where we purchase our food.For those who dont take COVID19 seriously, fine your business--but when youre out in public, especially in grocery store, please wear a mask. Please trust me from family deaths, COVID is an awful way to die.Safeway, please enforce the mask mandate especially among your employees.

Just about choked to death on a pastrami sandwich while employees and others looked on passively. I finally had to snatch (and of course pay for) a bottle of water to dislodge the chunk of meat in my throat. I almost died in this store and no one said a word but wet clean up because I puked a good amount up before getting the wad of solid pastrami out of my throat. Tell the deli to separate your meat or else risk death.

Very disappointed in their produce for the first time ever. There were little fruit flies on almost all of the produce in the Safeway in Corning, and the quality of the fruit and vegetables was very poor, horrible actually, on top of the bugs.

Safeway gas. Some of the cheapest in Redding.Good and lots of arrows to point the direction you need to go, but there are still people that go the wrong way. And everyone always lines up to the right side of the pump islands -please know that the hoses have a long cord so they can fit going around the car to the far side (it would help the lines they have If more ppl knew that)
