A quiet nice supermarket, even this Safeway has been here for decades, but been renovated few times, it is very much updated!They got almost everything things you need for a household from bakery to fresh produce to fish and meats, to floral to frozen food items!Store are clean and clearly marked but it is very hard to find a person to ask questions!Also the price are not the most friendly in the neighborhood!Parking is easy, there also a bank and pharmacy nearby which added convenience!

Born & raised here & to see this Safeway downgrade more & more is disappointing. As a previous supervisor this is unacceptable. The Cashier’s attitudes get worse & the products are not fresh. A lot of homeless people around begging.Marty was my most recent cashier. She didn’t greet me & rudely grabbed the kiosk to give her a self a 10 star rating. Cashier Marty I Rate you 0! Horrible service!I will not be coming back & giving my business to this store & will spread the word of their other great locations than this one.Hope they close it down due to the disgusting service. We are hard working families who don’t deserve this treatment. Safeway you need to retrain your staff or get some new ones because they aren’t up to customer satisfaction. 👌🏼

I usually shop at this Safeway whenever I want really great meat or Seafood selections. Quality selection that is. They have a wide range of meat, poultry, fresh produce, lots of sweet treats in bakery department, deli, all short of juices, drinks, and many fresh and beautiful flowers sections, everything you need for all of your Grocery shopping!They also offers Online shopping, Curbside Pickups, and Delivery Services as well. They got my favorite Cioppino Sauces and Great Prime Ribs here which I definitely liked that!With my Safeway membership, I Absolutely enjoyed these great Savings with everything I purchased!

This is a smaller Safeway store but is stocked fairly well. The larger Safeway just down the road is nicer and busier. This location always has a broken entrance door so you are required to walk to the right side of the store. And something that bothers me is when the associates gather and talk about gossip and things when people at the self checkout need assistance. They don’t respond fast enough. Customers have to ask them for help rather than the staff seeking them to help.

This is a very busy Costco location since it is in the heat of Silicon Valley.Staffs are friendly, store environment is clean. Best time to shop at this location is before 3pm.Recommend this location, will shop again!

As a positive point, the choice and variety of food is quite large and the store is clean. The cakes look very tasty.As negative point, the choice of cheese is quite limited (very important for a French girl ;-)); and the personnel is very limited... leading to 15 minutes to get somebody at the customer counter. A bit disappointing when you want to be quick and effective.

I am leaving this 1 star review with regards to my online order pickup today. The lady who brought my stuff in my car showed me an attitude. When i rolled down my window to show my code she asked me where to put and i said in the trunk please, I wasnt done talking yet but she turned around already. And i saw her in my side mirror that she made face and the body language wasnt really pleasant. Then after she put my stuff she closed my trunk hard and left. Not even saying bye or thank you? So i saw her walking away already and me i cant just let her go without saying thanks so i said thanks but she didnt even looked back. What a weird and rude lady. Thats not a good customer service there! She seemed not happy with her job.

This location can be a hit or miss. Love the fresh roses they offer compare to other Safeway locations, I also like there mini bday cakes. One thing i hate its there long lines, super long seems like there under staff or they dont want to hire more employees..My husband surprise me with another set of beautiful flower for Mothers Day on 5/10/18. He loves going to Connie, she always does a beautiful job, I dont know her schedule very well because when i go I always get someone diff. They do a good job but not as well as Connie. My husband goes after work 2pm and I tend to go in the mornings..

Terrible Safeway. High prices, limited selection, and products on the shelf past the best by date. Just bought 2 12 packs of beer, Elysian variety and Lagunitas daytime IPA. Elysian best by is 1/12 and Lagunitas is 9/22/22! I should have checked before I left. Ugh. Also all the beer is a SLUSHY! Ugh.

I was shopping tonight and a young man whos working in the meat department was sitting there yelling at a customer and yelling slurs and other things. Not cool if youre an employee at a job you should be upholding yourself to some higher standards then that because if that doesnt change you will not get far in life. Typical Safeway, generally clean and stocked to expectations for its small size, but they just refuse to staff the checkout lines and would prefer their customers wait 30 minutes to pay for merchandise. Last time I was there, only three lines were open and the number of customers waiting was somewhere between 30-40 people. Ridiculous.

Nice people . I have been shopping here almost my whole life at this location . I love the employees here especially the manager she is kind hearted person . But I have to warn everyone who is shopping at Safeways or any other places that have the kind of scanners at checkout please be very careful when punching in your passcode to make purchases especially with ebt cards . I noticed a few times people trying to watch me punch in my code . Set of two people working together all Asians people peeping over your shoulder so please be careful . It’s pretty low when some try to steal your ebt

2 open lines during afterwork/dinner time rush, both longer then the isle running behind them. After waiting over 10 min and not getting even close to the front of the isle, my disabled body could no longer keep standing. So I had to leave without the food I needed to make dinner that I had came there for. Instead I am now physically exhausted, hungry, and having to go to bed without eating dinner.

Still need to add more Cashiers after 5pm. Self check out is not helping with the large crowds. Prices for veges are double what they used to be. I shop veggies at Indian and Asian stores only. Your monies not safe at Safeway unless you shop some sale items or go a certain day when they give you a short amount of time to shop for certain advertised sale items. Buy one get one free is the same price as if you bought 2 at regular price. NOTHING IS FREE.

Came to get balloons filled and pick up a cake for my daughters bday. The person that was normally there to fill balloons wasnt there at the time so I asked a lady at the opposite end of the store at customer service. She cared enough to look for someone else who had done them, when I know many folks would have just said sorry try coming back another time. Also the lady who filled the balloons took her time with the finicky style balloons to get them done right. Much appreciated customer service, thanks!!

Had everything I needed and more. Check out clerk was very nice. Only self checkout and 15 items or less was available for checkout, with big lines, however after a few minutes another checkout opened up. I like the variety in bakery but would like more items made this morning instead of 3-4 days ago. Overall good experience, nice staff and some good Safeway club card savings.

This isnt my favorite Safeway location, but it is closest to home. The store is clean, organized, and well-lit. It gets pretty busy and weekly sale items tend to fly off the shelves pretty quickly. Everyday prices are higher than the competition, so I only drop in to score a deal on sale items or on $5 Fridays. Their bakery and deli items are better quality than other supermarkets. Their private label products are of good quality and value. Produce and meat quality are average.

My experience at the Safeway was not a good one at all although Ive shopped there before and had no problems today there was very short of Staff only two cash registers open and a Express line. There were two young men cashiering I bought an item that was marked at one price and when it was rang up it was another, triple the amount I told the cashier that that was marked down he went to check on the price he took a little bit long so I went to go see what was going on and when I got there there was no price at all on the items and I asked him clearly did you remove the price? He laughed and said no... I said well the price was just there and all the item are still there but theres no price. I ask to speak to a manager who was another young man who was not helpful at all no customer service skills whatsoever. so I asked to speak if to another manager. She just happened to go to I spoke with a very nice lady who was a managerI spoke with a very nice lady who was a manager of the booth next to the deli and she was very kind very understanding she listened to me and I really appreciated her. She ended up giving me a $25 gift card for my troubles. I think that was very nice. The two young men made me feel stupid, made me feel like what I was saying didnt matter, and made me feel like, I was lying.. I honestly left the store and tears. I just think if your assigned a job no matter what it is you do your best, if you cant answer the question or cant help somebody find somebody that can. I honestly was never going to go back to that store again only because of the manager will I return to that store and hopefully things get a little bit better.

The renovations done in 2016 were helpful, but overall its in an undersized parking lot while still being an undersized Safeway, and the fresh fruits and vegetables arent as good as other locations (like the one in Milpitas), and the aisles are less spacious, which means youre running into more people. It works because there arent a lot of traditional American grocers in the area but its just not a great store.

This location is ok. Long lines, rude custoners. The parking there is horrible! Customers also are notorious for plowing right through the stop sign to make the traffic signal. Close to being hit on numerous occassions. Can barely find anything at this location anymore. This location doesnt have a lot. They even ran out of ice!!! I went today and they didnt even have corn chips!😐. Theres a shortage on everything these days. Just stopping to pick up a few things after work has become frustrating.

Safeway as usual is a good place for groceries. It has adequate variety but isnt exactly cheap but convenient though. This one has a nice bakery but well that is usual too with most of the Safeway branches I have visited. We had ordered a birthday cake for a child and it was nice. Maybe not as great as the speciality bakeries but then not as costly too. Last time we had picked up a chocolate cake in ready stock and that was good too.

Went there today to pick up pork chops on sale for 0.88 cents a pound. Did not have any so I asked for a rain check from manager. She took the ad a slammed it on the counter and said we dont have rain checks because we have no meat I said that is why I asked for a rain check so I could get it at the advertised price when they get it in. She was totally rude to myself and mother of 83 years of age. Need to re-train management or hire ones that help customers instead of yelling at them.

Just an outdated store in need of updating. On my last visit, had to wait about 10-15 minutes for the butcher to show up. No bell to ring for service, so had to track down an elusive employee. What a joke. And then theres the check out lines. I have never been here when there wasnt a line. Obviously this place is understaffed. If that werent enough, parking is always difficult. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because they have a decent selection of food.

We go to this store quite often. It does not have the product availability of some of the bigger Safeways, but the staff here are very friendly. It is along the lines of a neighborhood grocer; they recognize you as you come in, & sincerely ask How have you been?. Generally it is a pleasant shopping experience.The only issue I have with this particular store is there is a female staff member in the bakery who apparently REALLY likes a particular tank top that I wear occasionally . I am NOT homophobic, but EVERY TIME she notices me (it doesnt matter if shes waiting on other customers at the time or what is going on) she will stop and yell Where is your tank top?. It has gotten to the point where I avoid the bakery area as much as I possibly can.Only because I have told management about this repeatedly, and it has not been curbed at all, am I giving this store 3 stars. This lady clearly could be taken to court for sexual harassment. I wont take it that far unless she really does something insane, but it sickens me to the point that I almost just avoid the store in general because of her. And to add insult to injury, she does this (almost proudly) when I am hand-in-hand with my husband. YUCK!

Nice clean store with Safeway expected level of products on the shelves however avoid this location at all costs during peak hours. They have 2 standard checkstands (non 15 items or less) open at 5:30 in the afternoon. Been waiting in line for 20 minutes and there is still 4 people in line ahead of me. Lines are always long. They never have enough checkout stands open. If you shop here from 4pm to 8pm, expect to stand in lines that go all the way to the back of the store. It is way too small for the area. Owners have not remodeled or tried to expand. There is only 8 checkout stands. We need a Safeway that is twice as big with about 16 checkout lanes. Deli always runs out of food. The customer service desk is basically non-existent. Parking is a nightmare as it shares parking with the rest of the strip mall. Definitely worth driving to a different Safeway.

The lady named Marcia that has a broken arm is the absolute worst. She has a major attitude problem. I was just there shopping and I needed help with a gift card. She had already gotten irritated that I needed her attention and she had to stop talking to her friend. She immediately yelled at me that they dont accept it there. She refused to let me use my gift card and wouldnt let me talk! I went to ask her what I should do and she yelled at me again saying the same thing we dont do that here very rude and terrible service! I cant even call support... Average grocery store contains basic needs. They have good selection of soup and pasta (I find myself drown in the section for >10 min). Check their weekly ads specially Friday has some good deals: ex. Fried chicken and subs!!!!Few issues:1. fried chickens usually take >20 minutes to prepare (if u buy them during the Friday deal, recommend go early morning and avoid lunch or dinner hour).2. They often have ad price, but when that item ring up expensive, regular price, even when I read the price on shelf, it still rang more expensive price at cash register. Racial discrimination too. They told me the one particular sea food on sale was sold out, or they didnt have it. But told another person to came back next day, promised that person at a lower price. They said that in front of me. I heard it, even though I was not facing the employee.

Id rate it a bit higher than most -4.5 stars if I could. An abundance of choices nearby doesnt take away the fact that this place offers most people most of the things they want, and at an extended hours. They can be pricier, but people are willing to pay for the premium for convenience, thats just how the economy works. To (mis)quote Hedi Lamarr, those that are cheaper arent as convenient, and those that are more convenient arent as cheap. Compare this to, say, 7 Eleven, Costco and Ranch 99, youll see there is a niche for Safeways existence.

I am lucky enough to be able to do my grocery shopping on a weekday before noon so that might affect my experience. Currently the store is being renovated so there were a lot of employees walking around and they were all very nice and offered to help if I couldnt find something (it was my first time at this location so maybe I looked lost haha). I was able to get everything on my shopping list and there were plenty of check out lines to choose from so I was in and out quickly.Side note: I didnt buy anything from the bakery but all the cakes were very pretty. The cake decorators they have know what they are doing! Even on a simply decorated cake you can tell they are piping everything with skill. I also got to try a cookie sample and it was moist and delicious so the bakers are doing a great job too.Ill be returning since it is pretty close to where I live and Im curious to see what it looks like when the renovations are done.

The line to pay here is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. I have been in line longer than it takes me to find what I need. They usually have 2-3 cashiers and they dont have back up. Ive seen lines with about 12 people each and growing. Everyone in line is upset. This is bad customer service and Im sure Im not the only customer that walks out with out buying what I need because I cant wait half hour in line. No more Safeway for me going somewhere else!

This location could use a little line management because lines get long and there are not enough registers open to accommodate them. Lines are often down the grocery aisles. I dont work there, so understand this may be a staffing or other issue that may affect this, but the other Safeway locations seem to be able to make it work. I dont see why it cant here.I noticed they took down the signs that say if there are more than three people per line, they open a new one. Maybe, because of too many complaints due the ironic message?I would definitely avoid this place during busy shopping times, but other than that its a good store.

This store is conveniently located for me which is the only reason I continue to shop here. However that may come to an end as I continue to suffer through their chronic outages of almost everything. They stock very little selection to begin with...On top of this, they have the longest checkout lines Ive seen anywhere. Regardless of the time of day there are 10+ people in line and it takes a while to get out the door. They simply dont have enough staff checking folks out.

There were only 2 cashiers open.. and they never opened ANOTHER CASHIER STATION, while employees are walking by me. Parking can be a challenge in the evenings. Always seem to be longer lines than any other Safeway at any time of day. Meat selection becomes depleted early in the evening. Im only giving it 3 stars because once they stopped 24 hour service the homeless population living in the extended parking lot dropped to nothing. The store was remodel a couple of years ago but they lost the bid to expand by acquiring the space next door to a Round Table. For me, french fries are a guilty pleasure, so if they arent good Im emotionally crushed and fall into a deep depression. The fries here are very good. This was an old Safeway that was in need of an remodeling. About a month ago, it finally happened. Still has the same small feel inside but everything looks upgraded. They make fresh bread, the seafood section looks appetizing, the floor is clean and nice looking. It feels like a brand new Safeway. Only issue is that parking is horrendous. The store is clean, organized and neatly displayed; however, getting a friendly cashier is a hit and miss.On one visit, this Caucasian male cashier didnt assist in helping the patron in front of me to clean the register counter as it was wet with some liquid. After he scanned her items, he forgot to push the credit/debit button. I saw her out her card in and heard the machine ding to remove her card. I entered my phone number into the card prompter, she rang my things up. As I began to bag my things, she did not even acknowledge that shell bag my items. Well maam, you did not because you could have killed two birds with one stone by bagging my items as you were scanning them. Oy vey.Jedda is always very helpful and very friendly with questions, cashiering as well as at the customer service counter. The Safeway on Berryessa and Capitol is one of the smaller stores and and such they dont always stock everything the bigger stores can. The upside is that its the closest supermarket. Now many categories of items are spread around multiple locations within the store to the point where even store staff give wrong locations of several specific items when they were asked, and the other half who were asked seemed to not really care. Also, the store manager was paged but after waiting several minutes, I gave up and bought only what was already in my basket. I like the company, but I will avoid this location and will drive up to the Milpitas location for future shopping. This Safeway very badly needs to be renovated or moved. As modern supermarkets go it is small, very cramped, and run-down. Parking is limited, with teenagers loitering, and its difficult to find carts as they are scattered about and seldom gathered. Everything in it (the fixtures, the checkout stands, the floors) is worn out and looks like it hasnt seen a facelift since sometime in the 80s. This is a shame, because this neighborhood doesnt have much in the way of grocery stores, and a modern supermarket would get a huge amount of business.The one bright spot is the employees. They are friendly and as helpful as circumstances allow.

The plaza and srore are not very clean. Lots of homeless. Do not shop here after dark, its not safe.

This Safeway has always huge lines. Theres only like 1 or 2 registers open and the lines go all the way to the back. Its ridiculous. So many people go here they should hire cashiers.
