I recently shopped at Safeway in Bollinger, super sized big store with lots of daily deals under $5 going on. Amazed to see well organized mini india they have setup in Asian section.Many things we don’t get in Indian store but here they have stocked some of the best items from ParleG to Maza. You feel so connected ❤️Store has maintained the hygiene and staff is friendly. Worth coming here

Old lady working new years eve night declined selling me alcohol because my wife who went shopping with me only had an expired license on her and she is older than me. Whats next theyre going to need Identification from everyone that lives in my house? Completely ludacris. I never felt so disrespected and Im still upset about this that I feel like speaking to the store about this.

The Safeway on Bollinger Canyon is modern, clean and well stocked. If Safeway is your regular supermarket, I highly recommend the Safeway App. The app allows a shopper to get coupons and savings not available if you only are a member. My last trip the app helped reduce a $100 total by $14 to $86.

This store has the best produce staff by far, but only the morning crew I went in the evening once and the guy working wasnt very helpful. But I give 10 stars to the morning crew and how fresh their product was and helping me with something outside their department. The lines were moving slowly but the cashier explained that they are under staffed and the number of applications are very few. I was more understanding of the lines after that.

Love this Safeway. Can usually always find the things I need. Theres one employee that I always see there (usually at the self check out) & he is very friendly, helping me when needed. Sometimes the prices at this Safeway are cheaper than other local stores. Also great to get those gas discounts, just for doing something I need to do - buy groceries. This store is clean as well.

The best Safeway in the Bay Area. The clerks are super friendly and customer service focused. In the store, there is a Jamba Juice, Starbucks, Pharmacy and an active Florist in this store. They have huge produce, meat, deli, wine and liquor and bakery departments.At the bakery, there is a large display of custom cake samples you can then order.This Safeway has a large gas station on the side and in the huge parking lot is filled with the tallest palm trees.

Theyve done a beautiful job remodeling the store. Absolutely beautiful. They have have everything and beautifully displayed.Weve been going there for over 20 years. A few of the people who first started out there bagging are now managers.My only gripe? They need to update the credit card/ATM computer system. The system throws a fit and wont read card with chips sometimes. The checkers have to deal with it all day long. We had to run ours four times. You know how much patience people have these days.We do shop other stores I admit for some other items that are not carried or just ridiculously expensive to buy there.We do love the staff. They are very, very sweet and kind. We are trying to get a group together and go to a As game and tailgate to show our appreciation. Theyre that nice. We always try to be nice to everyone.

Great store minus some bald white tall guy with blue eyes who likes to randomly follow people around the store pretending he is on the phone or just acts like he is shopping. Spoke to the manager about this a few months ago only to see the same guy following people around again. Keep an eye out for this guy, confronted him after he followed me for a bit but he ran out the store. Very creepy, stay safe bad vibes from him

I love this store. Great layout with the Fruits and Vegetables. AWESOME Deals and Meat Department that always has the correct amount of Lamb Chops waiting for me. This location has a nice Starbucks inside with the latest new drinks like the Iced Apple Crisp (I think that is the name. This new Iced Apple Drink is on their newest sales flyer).

Went to get propane gas. Waited 20 mins for someone to come help. The only person with the key was actually outside collecting carts and couldn’t hear the announcer calling him. Everyone else said they didn’t know how to do it😂. My business was done in less than a mins once the expert with the keys showed up.

I go to Safeway ever week, and its always amazing! They have amazing deals, and great products. I wish theyd add a bike/scooter stand indoors, as there are lots of people who come via Bike/Scooter. Also, the Starbucks in Safeway is always understaffed, and is always out of stock of something. In fact, one time they were out of coffee! Other than that, Safeway is great!!

Big Safeway store. On the left side of the store, a Starbucks shop next to the bakery and deli area. My favorite spot on the store. Has the little sushi maker spot where they make fresh sushi where they have a grab-and-go case. Standard Safeway deli counter with the usual selection for hot and cold food. Nice selection of bakery goods and I love their artisan cheese selection. The wine and liquor is also in this corner of the store.Every part of the store is well appointed and stocked.

Oct 7th. Gas is climbing and it’s ridiculously priced. From $6.05 to $6.39 a gallon and diesel is $6.42. Not the state of California fault but greed of the gas and oil industry.I have been a customer for over 25 years in the Danville area. I have always had an excellent experience at the location. It is always been head and shoulders above the rest. The only disappointing reason that they don’t have five stars is because their inventory has diminished. Many of my favorites have disappeared and more importantly, the quantities of diminished they recently did a remodel which seem to take forever but now the day are done it is a beautiful, elegant isles are wide, and the grocery store is coordinated in a way that makes sense.

I really enjoy coming to this Safeway. It’s clean and their staff are very friendly. The one thing that I tried recently was their pick up and go. The first time it went very well, but the second time not so well (never got it). Luckily, they called the next day to cancel and refund me the money. But, I feel their outstanding services overall didn’t warrant one less star.

Much the other Safeway stores I come across in my travels,this one is no different. Obscenely overpriced, cmon,a Marie Callenders Chicken Pot Pie for example,$5.47. But,if you are a member of the Club, you can get them at the low,low price of 2 for $9, which is still about $1.50-$1.75 more than just about anywhere else I happen to shop. The only reason I gave 2 stars? The gentleman working the little store that services the gas portion of this place. Incredibly friendly and it was a genuine pleasure to be greeted and to bat the breeze for a few minutes with him. I will end this by saying,if you dont mind taking out a title loan on your pick-up for the weeks groceries,then this is a good clean store to do it at.

Great customer service, clean well lit. They always have the best flowers in floral dept. Roasted chicken in the deli is the best chicken I’ve bought, always fresh and so full of flavor. The deli workers go above and beyond. Cheese bar has plenty of variety and the olive bar is always fully stocked. Sushi bar always fresh.

Would be better if they had more than 1 check out from 9-11pm because there is usually a flux of customers and I hate waiting more than 10 minutes. Clerks are good just doesnt seem to be enough around to do check outs.Also me or someone else having to ask management to open more lanes during those times is ridiculous it should already be open.

I will never shop here again. The last 5 times Ive shopped I found expired items and none of the staff seem to care. The deli is awful and I feel bad because they are always understaffed. The meat Ive gotten from the butcher spoils very fast, and is not good quality. Im tired of trying to talk to the store and havent seen any change or improvement in months. Not even a sorry for turning in a basketful of expired yogurt and salad dressing. I do not recommend coming here ever.

Valentines days 2017 - In the past Safeway has always has great quality Flowers. Like for every occasion. However this Valentines day not so much. All roses were small and not fresh, not the usual quality Flowers provided by Safeway. I will say the floral staff is remarkable and very accommodating. 3 stars for great staff but lower quality Flowers.

This review is in regards to the pharmacy. A few days ago I filled out the online questionnaire and made an appointment for my 49 year old husband to get his second Covid booster. I got a confirmation for him and all looked good but then after checking in to his appointment and being told to wait for his name to be called for the vaccine,, one of the employees came out and said he could not get his shot because he wasnt 50 years old! There was literally no one else waiting and when I made the appointment, there was tons of availability. In other words, not many people are lining up like before but they are discriminating against people that want a second booster?! Just terrible. My husband works in an environment where he could easily be exposed and I think it is really sad that Safeway pharmacy/Albertsons is not more pro-health for everyone at this point regarding COVID! Also, I answered the online questionnaire correctly and it validated he could go ahead and make an appointment so why did they not give him the vaccine?!...

A REALLY HUGE “SHOUT OUT” to Jordan in Customer Service, who assisted me when I missplaced, of all things, my WALLET at self check out! I didnt realize it until 30-45 mins after i had left the store. Totally in panic mode, Jordan was a calm and friendly voice and made eye contact with me when i walked into the store and asked if I was the woman that had just called! Someone did turn in my wallet, all contents intact!! Thank you to the anonymous shopper who did the right thing and brought my wallet to customer service! Jordan & Anonymous made my day & I will be forever grateful!This has been my neighborhood Safeway for some time now (love the gasoline perks especially NOW!), but this has made me a Bollinger Safeway loyalist for life!

I would give a 5 if they had enough staff to fill the checkstands when needed. Ive been living here for about 10 years and this has been an issue 85% of the time I have gone to this Safeway. As for that 15%, I have gone in the early mornings when hardly anyone is there so having enough checkstands open isnt an issue. Im giving 3 stars for their customer service and products. They have great staff and I can always find what I need here.

The manager is really rude. The cashier needed an override for something that was on sale that shed had someone do a price check on already. She explained that to him but he still wanted to check again, he didnt care about the people waiting in line. He made some snide comment about how he didnt care he was on the clock, I was in line and said well were not getting paid to wait in line, he told me Safeway was hiring if I was interested. I couldnt believe how rude he was. He took a verbal dump on customer service skills.

I can only give two stars due to the following:Pros - location and the fuel station. Had a bit of a problem with the pump but the attendant was very friendly and helpful.Cons - grocery carts were dirty and had wadded up paper and trash in them. Need cleaning!Produce Dept. was adequate but I had to search every section for a produce bag. All rolls were empty except for the one I finally found.Aisles were roomy and seemed to be well stocked.I had to track down an employee to go in the back of the fresh fish dept. to find someone to help me after I waited 5-10 minutes. Nice young man helped me.Deli salads and take home dishes appeared to have been in the case for several days. Didnt seem fresh. I decided to buy packaged deli meats.Checking out was an experience. A friendly young girl (Sam on the receipt?) did the check out but I would have never known she was an employee. No apron or name tag, just a black t-shirt. It may have been her first day as she didnt appear to have any experience. Asked me what are these? when she looked at my red grapes. Hmmmm . . . . she did, however, have it together enough to chat with the high school aged guys ahead of me and make her evening plans.I guess my recommendation would be for the manager of this store to visit the Danville store located at Crow Canyon and Camino Tassajarra and get some tips on how a store should operate. Yes, Ill visit the Bollinger Canyon store again but just to get gas.

I placed a order online for toilet paper and paper towels over a week ago recieved a email saying my order would be arriving on time the day of the delivery. At the last min of delivery time I received another email saying your order has been canceled. Shame on you for acting like you can fulfill our orders and dont. Some of us cant be there at 6 am to fight with people to get one roll of toilet paper. Shame on you as a company not being prepared for this crisis.

This is a nice grocery store to visit, always clean. Choice of products is very good, produce is usually real good quality, same for fruits etc. There is a Starbucks, and Jamba Juice. Thumbs up to the bakery, the bakers do a good job with custom orders. Sushi has improved a little, is ok but not as good as a sushi restaurant. Deli is good, but over the years it seems the deli employees are the least happy. Sandwich options are good. The hot food quality is ok, but fried chicken is good. Meats are packaged well, and quality is generally good. Seafood is usually ok in quality, sometimes doesnt appear as fresh as it should. I wish they would bring bak the machine where you can make your own peanut or almond butter, but its been a long time they havent. Minus one star for prices across the entire store. Regular price items are over priced in comparison to Target or Wal Mart. Ample parking.

5 stars to Michelle L. Im not putting her full name here because Im not sure if she would mind for privacy reasons if I do so. she was my cashier the other day. Im Chinese and have been reading so much in the news since the outbreak of the virus about the discrimination, hate, xenophobia against Asian Americans, as well as tensions between the 2 countries and thousands incidents reported throughout the U.S. in only the past month. Michelle may or may not realize what Ive been struggling, anyway, she helped me with a very supportive, encouraging tone during check-out. Ive met tons of people who seem to be always ready to be kind to other people, but Michelle is way beyond that and thats why I believe she meant to give me the extra kindness to let me worry less about my ethnicity. or maybe shes just a super kind lady and she meant nothing more than just being nice, no matter what, I would like to make a review here and wish Michelle would know that Im deeply grateful for her kindness, and I learned from her how much we can brighten someones day by just being kind to people, and Ill remind myself in the rest of my life to be kind to other people, too. People like Michelle are the great people making the world whole lot better.

I had a cake special ordered for my sisters bridal shower from another Safeway in the area. It was beautiful, but a number of factors (not being refrigerated, the cake being dried out and cracking in half, the cake still being assembled while I was at the store at my designated pick-up time, not giving the 2 tiers time to set) led to it completely falling apart in the car on the way to the party. Disappointed, I set on my way to get a replacement ASAP.I walked into this Safeways bakery department, found a decent looking cake in the display and asked for it. The gal working said it was a little old and had been sitting in the display for a while, but I told her it was an emergency cake disaster and it would have to do. Karen dropped what she was doing and handled it like a pro! She asked me what flavor of cake and filling I wanted and whipped it up in 10 minutes! The cake she made was more beautiful than the first and she didnt charge us, saying I had already paid for a Safeway cake, so I was going to get a dang cake! She added sparkles and edible pearls as finishing touches and my sister was so delighted. Karen is the shining example of kindness and I wont forget her going out of her way to make my day and save my sisters bridal shower.

This safeway at night is run very poorly. Watching staff be disrespectful to customers and throw their items when scanning them was extremely unprofessional (This was Steve on 2/21/20) . People were also walking around barefoot, and teens were getting into shouting matches with other safeway staff but general all around chaos in what is usually a very well run store. Hope this gets attention and these issues can be addressed, until then dont visit this place after dark.

Good bakery. Decent bagels and other goodies. Overpriced vegetables and fresh produce. Ready to order food can be expensive when measured against product delivered. For vegetables, stores like Vijetha or Sikandar, both Indian, and Ranch 99 (East Asian) are much better options. Still god to have this Safeway available for emergencies. There is a Starbucks inside the store.

Consistently terrible service! I’ve gone here multiple times in the last couple weeks for my lunch break and not once have I received what I ordered or been charged the right price. Employees at the deli counter are either rude or do not speak enough english to understand me. I’ll be walking twice as far to Nob Hill and the walk will be worth it.
