I was in the store yesterday picking up a coconut cake I ordered a few days ago. The Baker was already gone for the day so when I picked it up, it wasn’t what I expected. I stared to get very upset!!! I expected it to have coconut all over the outside, but it looked like a basic white cake. (Long back story about the coconut cake… too much to type) Anyway, I started to get upset with the nice young lady so she got the manager… Serena (spells it differently). Serena listened to me complain and she calmed me down! Since we were not sure if it was a white cake or a coconut— she gave me the cake for free! Great customer service!!!Update— it was coconut 🥥 and it was delicious!!! 😊🎂

Went in to get some fresh made sandwiches at the deli. The lady was telling me what I want and don’t want and questioning what I’m putting in my sandwich. And my first time hearing they charging extra for a toasted sandwich!? Is that true !?

Food is often left expired on the shelf in every department, new employees what feels like every other week means theres a lack of customer service and experience, and whatever else. Walmarts cheaper, Costco has better products, not really worth coming here except very rarely for genuinely good sales. Really. Non member price will be lets say 15 bucks, and then digital is 10, so wowza, what a deal! But then you look at literally any other store and their regular price for the same item is anywhere from 5-8 bucks, so youre not only getting ripped off, youre also handing over your phone number to boost some metrics a desk jockey will assuredly pleasure himself to later.

I would love to just live here if they would only allow it. I truly cant compliment the professionalism consistently shown by every single person that works there.My favorite part is how instead of forcing you to wait in a super long line behind like 5 people with full carts, the checker will actually use their little telephone and call for extra help!Its a definite pet peeve of mine to be stuck someplace else in a line with 2 dozen customers, 1 slow checker, and a half dozen or so of the senior staff just standing around watching the irritation of customers grow exponentially while all they seem to be doing is playing pocket pool.

I’ve been having to doordash due to becoming disabled…i had problems with this safeway before with expired food before i became disabled and was able to be at the store looking at the expiration dates. They keep things on the shelves that are expired for months and the meat is always brown. This is the only safeway close to me. It’s disgusting to keep expired food on the shelves. Now that i can’t go to the store it’s harder to shop here when shoppers don’t know to look at the expiration date because most grocery store wouldn’t put expired food on the shelves for customers to grab. Do better you’re gonna get people sick.

Edit: Today I stopped by to grab water. I walked by the bakery and i was suprised they were stocked on fresh cakes. I was finally able to grab my birthday cake.Out of all the Safeways around, I would have to say this location has the worst bakery. No one is ever at the bakery, and after pressing the button for service I still have to go searching for an employee. But the part that bothers me the worst is the selection of cakes, they are very sloppy. I went in on a weekday looking for the strawberry cake I always get and they didnt have it. They had a strawberry cup but they were only halfway filled and they didnt look fresh at all. So I skipped on it. Went on Saturday thinking they would have a better & bigger selection and they had the same cakes out. Disappointed.

I came in with my mom today and I was very happy to see that the staff were being safe and wearing face masks. :) The cashier who served me was Linda, and she was so lovely!! Amazing customer service!! Also Cody helped us bag our groceries — he was very nice as well! Wonderful job, HIGHLY recommend!! :)

A little high priced but if you get ad items you cant lose also the 5$ deals in bakery. Beautiful produce, bakery, deli. Deli clerks need to be a little more personable and only one clerk when I was there around 10am or so making customer sandwich but 2 ladies in front of back window never looked up from what they were doing one yelled at clerk who was trying to get his hotcakes set up. Then came out another customer had been waiting longer than I had. Might want to schedule more when close to lunch time. Overall nice looking salad case and fresh fried chicken delicious. Put iceberg lettuce for sandwiches also make available. Thank you.

Great location, clean store, friendly staff . I am rating a 4 due to product shortages..I am in Kings Beach, Ca few times a month to to visit & pick up a few groceries for my college age son and frequently have to travel elsewhere for popular items. ... however I was in on Sunday to pick up shrimp that was on sale they were out of the product and were great about finding a similar product to offer at sale price ..

My all-time favorite place to shop. Great variety in all departments. Gourmet deli that is second to none in our area. A bakery that offers such an outstanding variety of sweets. The meat dept. Is always so helpful and nice with great value items. Cant forget the product and liquor departments always willing to offer suggestions and specials. So with all of the great staff led by the best store Mgr that I have ever met Its a great place to shop and visit. The Best.

I like Safeway in general this location is convenient it’s on my way home from my office and so they seem to generally have plenty of everything in stock. The only downside to this location is they don’t have a fresh sushi location like the one at sierra college. But overall the staff is great no problems. Would recommend Safeway 100% over Raleys or Bel Air in a heartbeat.

If yall remember the deli kinda being subpar its cause it was. It has improved a little on food quality but that new kid has definitely put a friendly customer focused attitude forefront and makes the experience substantially more appetizing. The Safeway on Granite Drive is not good in a lot of things. I only go there for some stuff when I run out of time to go somewhere else. The produce department is dirty, mold on the fruits. The bakery is dirty where the donuts are and the cooler with the cakes is underneath so dirty I bet you can find all kinds of terrible bacteria in there. The salad and chicken fresh deli omg dont get anything 😩. Outside is everything dirty nobody sweeps and nasty bugs running around. So if the manager reads this, time to kick some a... and clean up the mess inside and outside.

Its a pretty alright store. I realize they cant carry everything but theres a stark lack of bagel chips. We found them there once. Guess they just dont carry them anymore. The staff is always friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to the self checkout machines since they can be a little difficult at times with items in the bagging area. Expensive, would recommend getting the member card to save a few dollars.

I can never recommend any Safeway to anyone! Theyre overpriced, the only way to get a sale is yo be a part of their membership, they have no self checkouts, which is a huge thing for me, and to top it off, theyre casheirs are the rudest cashiers Ive ever dealt with, it doesnt matter the location. Get some self checkouts so I never have to deal with your rude cashiers! The only reason I had to go here was because they were the only place in the area that had what I needed in stock....probably because other people also hate shopping here!

Amanda is a racist. Its an okay place. Not the cleanest or organized. I have been a customer for years for the lack of other nearby stores to go to. With the pandemic going on I wish they would be more strict on people wearing mask inside the store. They put a sign outside but dont reprimand people who arent wearing it. I dont remember seeing any signs stating that this is the case if using your own bags, but maybe thats the case. I did bring my own bags. I have been buying their All America Sub every couple of weeks for least last 2 years.Yesterday I purchased one, and it no longer has roast beef, yet they are charging same price. Took it back, assistant manger said, because of price, they were told to not add it....yet no notification to customers..it is now false advertising.2/12/2022 (was there again, 2/11, still no roast beef added to the All American sandwich (see attached pic is what Safeway advertises, notice there is a layer if roast beef) still priced same...continued false advertising

I HATE giving this store 1 star. Ive been shopping at this Safeway for decades and even though its now inconvenient for me to shop there, I still go a couple of times each month because Ive been a regular customer for so long, until today. On several occasions I have used Safeway Gift Cards to pay for my groceries. Its extremely easy and convenient. All the clerk has to do is some simple keystrokes and then scan the barcode off of my phone. Takes less than 5 seconds, I know because Ive done it several times before. For some reason, today it was a problem. The clerk wouldnt even read the instructions on how to use the card for payment. Instead, she called a manager or supervisor who also, didnt know how to use the card and refused to follow the simple instructions (see pic). Instead she left the check stand and left us waiting for several minutes until another manager/supervisor came out. Suffice to say, the people in line behind me were upset at me because they thought I was being unreasonable. It took the new person less than five seconds to process the sale which she would only do this once and next time I needed to bring in a printed copy. So, even though I have never had a problem before, suddenly this Safeway would prefer I waste paper unnecessarily. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT BUY THEIR GIFT CARDS IF YOURE HOPING TO USE THEM ON YOUR PHONE. THIS SAFEWAY WILL ONLY ACCEPT PRINTED COPIES BECAUSE...I dont know why. Its stupid and backwards and it means I shop at Raleys and SavMart from now on (WHO ACCEPT CARDS ON THE PHONE NO PROBLEM).

Worked here for almost 3 years and cant say I regret it because it got me through college. But let me just spill some tea and say there is some underlining abuse that goes on that no one talks about. Specifically management. I was lit on fire due to a gas leak in the deli department in which I burned my lashes and parts of my eyebrow and hair off. Management specifically told me I couldnt file a claim because I didnt seek immediate treatment to the emergency room. At the time I was underpaid and couldnt afford proper medical attention and addressed my own injuries. Thinking back on it I most definitely should have sought out legal penalty for making me work in a closed space with a gas leak, which turned into a literal explosion.

Store is beautiful well stocked DMV kiosk here but the help at the service deli was horrible very disappointed. Younger gentleman and older gentleman neither acted like they wanted to wait on me. Lettuce was wilted so I asked if they had iceberg lettuce, they said no(HELLO ITS A GROCERY STORE???) THEN ASKED IF THE HAD FREZH LETTUCE AT ALL AND OLDER GENTLEMAN NOT HAPPY I ASKED FOR BUT DID GET. I moved to the area recently and this happens to be the closest grocery store to me. So far I have been fairly disappointed with the produce - moldy peppers, berries, just not fresh overall. Anyways, I now drive further to the Raleys as their produce has been wonderful. I will try this store again in the future to see if it improves, if not I will just make Raleys my go to store.

This is a typical safeway. They carry pretty much everything I usually buy except truckee sourdough bread which raleys does sell, prices arent that bad, and the cashiers are nice. Bad is like most safeway they never have enough cashiers, customer service clerks, or deli clerks to help when they are busy.
