Mold on store made burger buns. On same day, when we got home and opened the pack, a few had mold on them. See the photos. This is from the Safeway in Livermore on 1554 first street. Very very surprising

I am mostly writing this review in response to the dozens of times I have seen inappropriate conversations from management and employees in front of the customers. I was ready to leave when I over heard this check say he didnt feel comfortable filling out a survey for a customer than the next thing I hear this from someone I could only assume was the manger argue back and forth with the employee that its part of the job of customer service to do the survey. I think forcing customers to fill out surveys all the time is annoying, so I dont blame anyone for not doing so but to hear the mangers talking about writing up an individual loud enough for me to hear it and cause unnecessary drama as this store always does is unbelievable. I really felt bad for this check as he was on verge of tears over it. Its something that needs to be side behind closed doors. The amount of times I have seen checkers get written up, talked about termination or warnings while in the middle of my transaction is unbelievable. Its too much drama for a by stander and I am not going to this store again because of how management seems to treat the staff here.Ps. When I asked for the mangers names later they were Nakita and Chirsty so if you seem them dont even bother asking them for help because from what noticed they even give customers attitude too

So apparently if you are Hispanic you cannot be there with a shopping cart full of items without them asking you were are you going with that. I was not even exiting the store I was just going to get bags of ice but this Safeway employee thought that because I am hispanic I look like I thief. She literally said that to me in front of another employee.

NAKITA gave my $150 drive-up order to the wrong person and then took zero accountability for said actions. Told me to take it up with the “IT department.” Spent 45 minutes arguing with me instead of replacing my order or giving me a refund. Whether it was her error or the system’s error, she still gave my paid order to someone else and refused to make things right.NAKITA and CHRISTY MALDONADO have no business working in customer service, and no business talking to others the way they do. I will take my complaint about these 2 women across every social media platform possible, so that others can be warned of the humiliation they made me feel as a long-time paying customer of Safeway. Store director Brad is AMAZING and so is the drive up manager Robin. If it weren’t for those two I would never return to Safeway. NAKITA COMMITTED BLATANT ROBBERY OF GOODS AND THEN PUT THE BLAME ON THE LOYAL CUSTOMER.

My daughter wedding was in Livermore right after valentines, I was a little nervous when I ordered flowers here for the event. Blanca & Iris in floral department exceed my expectations! Not only the arrangement and bouquets were beautiful, it was so fresh that its still beautiful after a week. The design was exactly as I ask for & was ready as promised. Who would have thought that Safeway floral would be so beautiful & not to mention the price was way better than other florist. I would definitely recommend ordering your wedding or event flowers from here.Big thanks to Blanca & Iris!

Service isnt exactly all there regretably. No one greeted me which isnt a big deal. The problem is this, I used my EBT card and it looked like it was accepted until the clerk told me to cancel, in which I did and asked if it was accepted being confused and she told me it was. And it truly looked like it did since the screen showed the difference, so I paid the difference and went on my way. When I got home, my receipt showed the entire purchase was charged on my debit card rather than the EBT split. My checking account confirmed it.I dont know if it was an honest mistake, but its a costly one to me. Not going here again. Be warned.

Im not a huge Safeway shopper because I usually find a lot of things cheaper somewhere else. Trader Joes and Walmart are where I do most of my shopping. Safeway is where I go when I need something I cant get at the other stores. Today I went to get a few things that were on sale that were in the just for you app. The place is clean and staff very friendly. I usually dont have any problems going in and finding what I need.If you consider shopping at Safeway I highly recommend you get the just for you app and clipping the coupons. Sometimes they have really good deals and You can get multiple coupons that add up. One time I went in and got four boxes of taco shells for free and even got 1¢ back. I didnt plan it but I am so glad I clipped the coupons.The photo attached to this review shows how beneficial the coupons are. You will see how much each product cost with and without the coupons.

This is the worst managed Safeway I’ve ever been to. From the way they talk to their employees in front of customers, to the way the the managers just stand around talking. I genuinely have never been so disappointed in a store. The workers for the most part are amazing but the mangers need a lesson in customer service and common decency.

5.21.24 Bathrooms were filthy last couple of times weve been here. Whether employees are not actually cleaning when they periodically check or theres a constant stream of disrespectful customers coming through, these bathrooms need more frequent attention. (Bathrooms werent busy when we were here both times.) Biggest concern is that the same employees who are stocking produce with their bare hands and staffing the large ready-made deli are using these filthy bathrooms as well. It should be no surprise unfortunately that many people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. And if they do, many make a very cursory attempt when others are watching them. Then, even if employees or patrons do wash their hands thoroughly, many touch various objects in the bathroom, recontaminating their hands before or as they leave. Ive seen deli employees put gloves on without washing their hands thoroughly with soap and water first. They are cross contaminating as they literally put on their gloves. They seem entirely unaware of how to prevent contamination or they just dont care. I would rather wait while they wash their hands properly with soap and water than watch them violate health code by not maintaining simple, basic hygiene. Sadly, none of this information ought to be newsworthy. When other employees come in and are complaining about how disgusting the bathrooms are, management ought to remedy this issue & consistently maintain higher standards.This is a beautiful, clean, Safeway with a great bakery & Deli. Pharmacy, gas station, Jamba Juice & Starbucks all inside. Produce is expensive, but competitively priced - meaning all produce is pricey now. Good sales on major name brands as well as Safeways own brands - Lucerne & Signature are 2 examples. Our family has eaten lunch here at the deli, tables & chairs available inside. Bathrooms are reasonably clean - could be better maintained.Update: 09.19.22 Frustrating to have frequently come expressly for advertised sales on fruits only to find that they are out of stock no matter what time we come. I spoke with an associate in produce who said that they dont know why stock didnt come in or why theres not enough to replenish stock. This has happened four times this past month.

Bakery and my wifes birthday cake. The good: the staff was very helpful with ordering an 8 cake and suggesting cake decorations.The cake was ready when requested and looked beautiful.The bad: the cake. The cake portion flour part was on the dry side. The frosting was to be a cream frosting. The frosting, the flowers, and decorations tasted like the cheap frosting out of a can. So disappointing.There was to be a layer of real strawberries mixed with the cream frosting in the middle.It appeared that there were only 2 - 3 chopped strawberries. The layer was so thin it was barely worth having in the cake. We have another birthday this weekend. We are definitely NOT ordering a cake from Safeway ever again. So sad.

Management doesn’t seem to enjoy their jobs. Rarely present during regular business hours; when they are ‘available’ they are extremely disrespectful to their staff -in front of customers- and are always so inconvenienced by a customers needs. Thank goodness for the ever polite Ms. Robbie for helping my daughter and I this morning when a member of management was no where to be found at 9am.

I must say Im giving the store this high of a rating only because of the amazing employees they have there. They are hardworking, always polite, and are always more then happy to help out if you have a question or need help finding something. Now if I was rating the store on it own it would probably be about a 2½-3 stars an thats mainly because they always seem to be out of products and when it actually comes in they never order enough of it so i cant tell you how many countless times things have ran out the same day especially with certain sales items. An not to mention I dont agree with how some of the upper management the Store Manager & Assistant store manager treat an talk to there employees especially in front of customers. I dont care what the situation may be but I dont think its ever ok to tell at one of there workers in front of other employees and customers. The only point of that would be to try and bring them down and/or embarrass them, because any proper type of management in my eyes would handle the situation properly and pull them aside if theres an issue, but thats just my personal opinion I suppose. Lol

I like the deli they have decent food Their home made sandwiches are pretty good. Also the chicken buffalo 🦬 wings combo special $8 bucks is a good deal with two side orders the potato wedges are really good its nice to know you can get a good meal at a fairly lower price. I know Buffalo wings are very expensive eat restaurants I cant believe they charge $25 or more for an order for buffalo wings.

This Safeway is pretty good. It is comfortable, generally well stocked, though items in short supply are no better than other stores.I find the meat department above average and the bakery is generally excellent. Staff is very helpful and prices are usually better than other stores I visit.

I like this location. Its not the biggest, but the restrooms are right at the entrance and they actually had the Butternut Squash Bisque unlike the Tassajara Rd Safeway (boooo). Cleanliness is alright. Could use a bit of tidying, but its not terrible and will do for someone just making a quick grocery run.

Its just another big grocery store with items that I just dont buy. However, I was told by the manufacturer that they had it. Good news, I finally found it. Bad news is that it was on close out. I purchased the last of them. They have facings of coke, Pepsi, etc..all laced with corn syrup and artificial sweeteners. Coke already destroyed the Hansen natural sodas. Now, it appears that Zevia is on the same path. Looks like the only alternative is Sprouts.

At this Safeway, online orders have horrible fill rates! 2 out of 5 of my online orders were more than 30min late!I drove across town to the other Safeway and received a 99% fill rate from a brand new employee on his first day. On time too. I prefer ordering online for double gas points($.70/gl), but I am now rapidly looking at having to shop in store.

It’s a grocery store. It’s pretty hard to mess it up. Price is the price. But where Safeway goes above and beyond, is their work in the local community. They EMPLOY individuals with special needs. They train them, work with them, and provide structure and a sense of purpose. I witnessed it today, first hand. And as a result, I don’t care what the cost of a loaf of bread is. I’m writing to share my experience with Brenna a checker. O have been a Safeway customer for over 20 years and have never in all that time received such poor customer service. Brenna was rude, surly and on obnoxious. I was helping my wife who was doing the bagging at the end of the counter. I was right opposite the credit machine towards the end of the counter and I reached across the counter to get a bag to help. Brenna in a very surly and rude manner said “ don’t reach across my space”. I was at least 6 feet away from her and was trying as was my wife to help. People like Rena treating customers like that should not be a part of the Safeway team. I was shocked and stunned at her behavior. On top of that she was incredibly slow and never acknowledged my wife’s help. I hope this is not the image that Safeway wants their employees to display.Again the most rude experience of my life in over 20 plus years at Safeway.

Terrible experience with safeway livermor cashier, refused to give discounts bc online apple didnt matxh with account phone number, told me she refused to help bc than she would have to do it for everyone..i told her that it was the first time a cashier said that, other never said a word, just provided discount..she didnt care. This review is regarding the Deli. Safeway Deli has a special for less than $20 you get 4 pieces of chicken 1 side 4 small cokes and 4 Hawaiian rolls. It seemed too much for 2 people sonI purchased 4 pieces of chicken. Those 4 pieces costs $20. Outrageous to say the least. Never again. On top of that, the worker was upset he couldnt get the tag to print out.

I ordered a 1/2 sheet white cake with a strawberry cream filling and a whipping cream frosting for my wifes birthday party. It was ready on time. The cake decorations where fantastic! Deli department promotes hot Fresh Chicken. The last few times I got it from the heating window and it was Nasty, Obviously old mixed with new. I complained and on time they credited me, the second time they never responded. So I thought I will just ask them to cook up a fresh batch and I will be happy to wait.I have been there 3 times 4:30pm on a weekday was the latest. Every time they refused to make a fresh batch and tried to push the window Chicken on us.We asked the Safeway at the other end of town and they said that was Not how they should be operating!!!!They said to always come to Safeway by Chili’s and they will talk care of us and Cook up a Fresh batch anytime!!!!!Do not waste your time with store by Ace hardware unless you like the OLD product.

This Safeway is consistently clean and well-stocked, especially with great produce. They also offer lots of low-sodium options, which is important to me. The butchers have been very helpful, making special cuts for me many times without charging extra for the service. Unfortunately, its such a great store that its usually busy and, despite their Threes a Crowd rule, it is still quite normal to have to wait in long lines.

2 Supervisors were very unprofessional and decided to serve a write up to one of their employees in the middle of a transaction. This happened today around 11am 2.2.21 while I was trying to pay for groceries. The employee was very calm about it and all because of her clocking out 3 minutes late for lunch.The supervisors in the otherhand could have waited or pulled her to the side, its embarrassing and disrespectful.

I love Safeways variety for produce, meats dairy.They need to have training updates for their employees.The manager is nice...maybe just overwhelmed by bad attitudes of the employees.My hand got burned on the rotisserie chicken warmer.I was checking out and mentioned that there should be a Caution Hit Exterior sign.The attitude was....well she was staring at me lacked-jawed..no kidding. Jaw open eyes at half mast, vacant stare.Finally, I gave up and asked several people where the manager was.After 10 Minutes....yes timed it.. someone said that I could wait until he gets back it thrity minutes. I asked if there was anyone else to talk to, any assistant manager...No reply with my Excuse me.. to several employees purposefully avoiding me.Its still my same store to shop, I just avoid the checkers that over charge and the baggers that put cans on my bread.. by bagging myself.

The store itself seemed alright, but I stopped into the ladies restroom and it was nasty. In one stall I saw their giant TP roll is stored on the back of the toilet seat itself. Gross. I did like that I found shade in the parking lot. (Important to people who travel with their dogs)

This Safeway is always clean and stocked. There is always adequate staffing so you arent waiting too long in line or looking for things in the store. There is a Starbucks and Cafe at this location and it is conveniently located next to the Old Northside neighborhood.Id happily upgrade this to a 5 star if they would do a better job of keeping the P Street side of the property clean, they regularly leave garbage and gross trails of stuff emptying their garbage cans.

Here in the morning and is supposed to be a 24 hour store but no clerk to check me out. Come to find that the employee that walked right by me and almost ran me over without even as much as an apology or a excuse me was the checker.After waiting for 35 minutes now I was finally told that the registers are doing an update and the cashier knew that and didnt bother to mention it.I have been somewhat puzzled by the strange assortment of . As you can see in my picture that I had gone to pick up some frozen pancakes and when I arrived at the frozen section all I found was waffles, waffles, waffles and down on the very bottom was a single small row of about 4 boxes and another of about 3 boxes but directly after the 3 full sections of again waffles was another entire 3 doors of waffle sandwiches of all different types... Hmmmm dont understand the preferences towards only waffles? And also YES THEY ARE OVERPRICED!

The fruit is super fresh and firm everytime i visit. Their honey potatoes sweeter than the other location, and their sweet onions huge and flat(flatter the sweeter)Good selection at the butcher, and nearly everytime theres some good things on the managers special.

7/16/13We were in attendance at a party up the street from this Safeway on the Saturday before the 4th of July. The hostess realized she needed some Greek yogurt and some sour cream, and my husband volunteered to go pick some up for her. He is a nice guy. Much nicer than me because I would have never volunteered to leave a party with so much delicious FOOD everywhere! ;) We were also asked to grab some ice - it was HOT - and the supply had completely melted in the outdoor coolers.Our navigation actually told us to go to another Safeway but we saw this one first and stopped here. I dont do a lot of Greek yogurt shopping but I was really surprised that for Plain, Greek yogurt there was only one choice we could find. There were several fat free plains, and several plains with flavors, but only one of the type we needed, and the small container was $5.99! What?! The fat free versions were much less expensive but we didnt need those, so no help. The sour cream was on sale and was a standard size for $2 after $0.70 discount.At the register we asked for ice. We were told they had one, ripped bag left. Not a problem. Upon going to check for us, the bagger discovered it was gone. We were glad they checked first. Friendly cashier. Two friendly baggers. The lines werent long and the store was clean. Thanks to it being well-organized, we were in and out and back to the party in no time. Let the consumption of good party food resume!

Worst Safeway I have ever been to. I would give them minus rating if I am allowed. July 27, 2018. First time to feel racism in CA after living there for 20 years. We were in a leisure trip, went to the store at 11pm. We tried to ask about soda and boy, we met the rudest stocker I have met in my life. We had to look for what were looking for before she curse or hit us. Yes it was that bad. Next, Lauren, the cashier. As grumpy as it gets. However she had the case of selective grumpiness, she was politically correct with the person before and after us. We were moving along the line, my wife was pulling the cart while I was paying so we can expedite the process since there were few people in line. Just of the sudden she almost yelled at me asking me to move the cart forward. I answered firmly that my wife is doing just that. Next she asked if we need bags and I answered no thank you. She asked me sarcatically is that a yes or no. What comes next is really funny if it wasnt sad. I asked the bagger to call a manager. Her name I believe was Alissa. Waited for 7 minutes patiently. Only to find that she went home. They grabbed somebody who claims that he is in charge but not a manager. His name was Tony or Joe. He wasnt even interested to hear what I got to say. Usually, as a courtesy they say I am sorry you felt this way. Not akgnoloedging any wrong doing. Not a sorry word from him. Just said that he will let them know in the morning. That was all. The funny thing i found that the headquarters is 10 minutes away from the store. And after reviewing comments on Google, found out that I am not the only one who is treated this way. Will call or go to headquarter tomorrow to see if they even care.

I had to go on a clear fluids diet for a colonoscopy and all I could eat was jello and popsicles. I am on the South Beach diet and cant eat sugar. My regular grocery store ran out of sugar-free popsicles, so I went to Safeway. They had them. Otherwise I dont usually shop there because the prices are higher. Its a nice clean store with excellent produce and a Starbucks. Not much to complain about.

He said Yes, I requested him to give me a minute for picking a choice of cake that i can order. He just given a unpleasant look and said with an aggressive voice you are not ready? This Safeway and the bigger one on First Street are definitely the two most popular grocery stores in Livermore. If you dont know Safeway they are a pretty nice grocery store, a step up from the other chains. This is a medium size one, not as big as some of the newer ones, but thats fine unless you need some fancy make your own nut butter or whatever the other Safeways are adding as the flavor of the month this month.

I have gone to this Safeway 2-3 times. I do like the fact this Safeway is stocked well, most staff are friendly and helpful - also I believe the Safeway is clean and organized well for the space it has.I have concerns or negatives to share (2 personal experience and one verified experience from others)- The way you enter subway through N Livermore avenue, you take a right into Safeway. Immediately after, there is a stop sign. This is both dangerous and clogs the road - whoever came up with this idea - BS.- I see lot of homeless folks outside this Safeway and sometimes they try to hassle customers. Safeway does nothing to address this.- I read a post on NextDoor where a customer was assaulted inside the Safeway by a woman (powerful punch to the back) and apparently she threw a chocolate on a lady before storming out. These affected people tried to tell the manager and the staff but nothing came out of it apparently. Now the community is debating what to do and many like me dont feel safe going here.Till I hear atleast the above 2 issues are addressed, I dont feel safe going to this Safeway for my needs. Funny the name is Safeway but I dont feel safe here

I dont write reviews that often but I think someone should say something to warn the rest of us. I got cussed out by a cashier because I wanted to have someone look up the price because it was ringing up $7 more then the tag said .... And when the manager came over she refused to go look and gave me and the lady behind me in line attitude when the lady behind me chimed in about her attitude and how the cashier cussed me out ...Also its impossible to find something and theres never anyone around to ask where something is...Also they are always moving crap around which is very annoying and extremely irritating when I just want to find spinach dip and get out as soon as I can.The lines dear god are always long and it seems like the cashiers love to take their sweet time instead of getting people out fast and friendly. The lines are always to the isles unless you go late at night or early morning.Please teach your cashiers how to bag so if they dont have a bagger that they dont spend 5 min per person bagging after the transaction has been approved and they are simply waiting for you to be done.What happened to the 3 is a crowd rule?
