This must be the best grocery store florist in the county! Floral, organics, fresh meats, seafood, great bakery, and a fabulous selection of produce. But wait, STOP EVERYTHING! Ive never been a couponer or done much beyond buying a different cut of steak, as in a Ribeye instead of a Porterhouse, if one was significantly on sale versus the other. But lately, with mortgage interest rates hitting well over 7.5%, Ive been doing a series with my would-be home buyers involving how to save for a down payment, home affordability, yada yada.So, I bought into utilizing the store specific apps and taking about 7-10 minutes to pre-game my shopping trip. Items that are on sale are extra on sale if you use the stores app. As evidenced by the pictures I attached, during this shopping trip, my total went from $151.91 to $67.81, a whopping $84.10 or 55.4% discount. Thats ridiculous savings! It took me a few times to get good at navigating the app but I found the store staff to be helpful also.

Well stocked on a Wednesday 2 pm which is great since Wednesday is their ad special day. Manager specials should be 50% off and not 30% though. $10 a pound for short ribs is not a special and neither is $4.99 pork chops. Be sure to use app for additional savings.

They have reorganized the whole place and its so much better now. They took around half of the items off the shelves to cut down on shop- lifting. Smart, very smart. The employees are always helpful and friendly. My family has been shopping at this Safeway for about 50 years. We love it!

Well this used to be one of my favorite Safeways to shop at but currently the Dewey Drive location is my favorite. I hate to single out anyone, so I will not use the employees name... But the male manager that closes the store at night a couple times a week is and has always been very unhelpful, condescending, arrogant, dismissive, and rather self-important to put it mildly. And even though his attitude and the way he converses and addresses some customers has been an ongoing problem.. specifically a couple of months ago I was really very embarrassed whilst in line with almost an entire grocery cart of groceries when I was informed that they could not manually enter my CA EBT card number into their system for payment... not only my EBT card but apparently any card ever period! I can still hear him now saying, we do not accept nor does our system allow us to manually enter any type of card ever! So no card, no payment! Which is a flat out lie. And I tried to explain that I was not completely out of line for asking such a thing because I had previously asked the checkout clerk at the Safeway location on Dewey if this type of transaction was even possible since I was still waiting on a replacement EBT card to arrive via USPS but I needed groceries now to feed my family and without hesitation and with express permission from the manager at the Dewey location I was able to pay for my groceries without actually having my EBT card present, but instead having a photograph of my EBT card that had been stolen with my name on it alongside my CA drivers license which also has my name on it--- but before I could even explain myself I was cut off rather curtly. And again I was informed very loudly and rudely that this was not possible and sorry I would have to go somewhere else...and AGAIN I stress that even though I have completed over a dozen transactions in the same manner without a second question and most importantly without being judged or looked down upon at the Dewey location, I was being turned away and now every customer in line was now looking directly at me and my almost full cart of groceries that I had to leave behind since I did not have the cash to pay for any of it. Needless to say I left the store in tears and rushed out to my truck as quickly as I could because I was so so mortified and embarrassed! I just feel that the situation could have been handled with a little bit more discretion and a little bit more compassion. And I do understand that there are different store policies from location to location but I do know that it was not necessary to purposely draw attention to me and my inability to pay for any of my groceries whilst also speaking to me as if I was a child and almost laughing at my preposterous query. As if to say, Oh you silly little girl, you. You didnt know the store policies at this particular Carmichael Safeway location?And all the while I really did need to feed my family and as far as Im concerned theres nothing worse than leaving the grocery store empty-handed after spending almost an hour filling up my cart!And yes Ive taken into consideration that this type of incident would never even occur if I was, in fact, a responsible EBT card holder and had obtained my replacement before attempting to purchase groceries... But in my defense, and how ironic it is...but it was in this very parking lot at the Safeway in Carmichael, that after spending only 10 minutes inside and parking only two spaces away from the front entrance, that my driver side window to my truck was smashed in and my purse, which was so carefully stashed underneath my seat, was stolen which did in fact have all of my bank cards, credit cards, my CA drivers license and last but not least.... my CA EBT card!So whether it be the terrible management of this establishment or the apparent crime in the immediate area I seem to keep having some sort of issue with the Carmichael Safeway. And its very disappointing because this location is within such a short proximity to my home.

A grocery store that charges premium prices for regular products. But I guess you just have to love the savings you get. Wait, opps! Thats not right...They drop the price down to the prices you would pay at any other grocery store so your savings are basically limited to them selling the product to you without the safeway mark up....sorry I dont usually get so worked up over pricing but Ive been thinking about it why do we go to Safeway? Just because its 2 minutes away rather than 5 minutes to another store? I used to love going to Safeway, namely this store, but now they even want to take the little savings you do get with no savings at all. The Safeway app really shows how stingy Safeway has been. Last year I was able to get ice cream as many times as I wanted to while receiving their saving prices but now the savings are often limited to 1 item at saving prices and all ice creams(of that brand) after that get the super special premium Safeway price! All thanks to the awesome app. The app is a whole other story, but its not fair to blame the store for the app functions. Come on, Safeway, dont we spend enough that you have to limit the savings now? I really think Im going to start driving the extra 3 minutes and get unlimited deals at the other grocery store. I also talk a lot, so hopefully, I dont drag too many people down with me.

I’m not sure if this Safeway cares enough to read this or do anything about it, but their service is horrible. It used to be somewhat decent with great customer service staff, but it’s just horrible now. They are not helpful, not friendly, and not courteous. Taking my shopping elsewhere

I understand that the public is in a hysteria right now. But going to Safeway, shopping for my weekly meals and getting home to find several of the items I purchased are not in my bags in very upsetting. I paid for eggs, chocolate covered raisins and several items and they were not bagged and put in my cart. Safeway this is unacceptable. Maybe Ill just start shopping in other stores not owned by your company.

Horrible customer service after going to several different stores to find press on nails this store was the closes near me to have acrylic nails. After waiting for customer service to arrive no one came, but they came to help other people I hate to even say race becuase as a black women and minorities we go through alot of mess and now they choose who they want to help. Last but not least when I walked to the door the wheels locked I didnt have anything in my basket the doors frightened my son and I Noone came to help. I wont return horrible

This was okay for a Safeway. The store was fairly well organized and clean. The only issue I have with Safeway is the price. The price doesnt really seem worth the value you get. You can get cheaper groceries at stores such as WinCo and if youre looking for higher-end items Safeway is not the place to be. I would go to nugget or whole foods for that. Safeway is basically an overpriced WinCo.

The Store is Always Clean, sometimes it’s hard to find a person in the department of the store to help with Finding Products. My daughter and I Love going to the Starbucks Inside the Store to get our Favorite Starbucks Drinks and Treats! Products I purchase are usually IN-STOCK!! A few months ago I had a Problem with finding the EGGS I wanted, but there are a VARIETY of EGGS now IN-STOCK Now, which was Wonderful To See! I had to travel to Further Locations to buy Eggs for awhile, and that was More Expensive to get there and Inconvenient. I ended up spending money in a Different Area of Town as a result. Last week a man in a Wheelchair asked me and my daughter to help him reach a product that was hard for him to get at This Location Store. We helped him. He was happy and we were happy to help him. If you need assistance, just try to ask a CASHIER for Help if you Can’t find a Staff Member in that department and they can talk on the Intercom to try to get a Staff member to go to the Section or area you need help in, or help to find a product, etc. The Cashiers I’ve met there are very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. This Safeway Location is One of my Favorite Locations to shop at!

I normally only come here for some chicken or laundry soap, rarely anything else. Today I stopped in to attempt to get a money order. No one came to the counter after waiting for 10 minutes. They were calling for someone but no one ever came. I walked out. The poorest customer service I’ve ever seen in any Safeway location.

My wife and I went to order a sandwich and they bairley had any deli cheese or bread. When we went to pay they did not know how to give us the savings for the chips and drink. So they had us walk back to the deli to ring it up. He said that he couldnt do nothing and that I would have to go back to the front. At this point I was very frustrated, thoughI remained calm. Im disabled with a cain and I was being told to walk all around the store. Once i got back to the front they called the manager Tracy who was very rude and unprofessional. The cashier explained to her what was happening as well as my wife and she rolled her eyes and walked off. Tracy didnt say if she was comming back or nothing, which was very unprofessional! Luckily Dylan then came once Teri called him! Thats the only reason Im giving this 2 stars. Dylan was extremely polite and professional. He apologized for the wait and was very attentive. Thank you Dylan!

Been coming here for years. My last straw was when I used the CoinStar, I had about $160 worth of quarters I saved up. The white lady at register number 1 who wears glasses is a fake, bias, racist hater. The coinstar machine is right by her register btw. So, after I was done dumping my coins and received my ticket, I waited patiently in her line has she checked out a white couple. She made customer service conversation with them, took about 5 whole mins to check them out. Once its my turn, I hand her my ticket. She says NOTHING to me. She scans the tickets, says she has to call a manager to clear the transaction. Not even a whole one minute after calling for a manager, she looks at the white man behind me waiting and says LOUDLY, SORRY FOR THE WAIT, ITS A COINSTAR ISSUE. Like??? She didnt tell me sorry for waiting a whole 5 minutes while she checked out the white couple and made fake conversation. She made me feel as it was an inconvenience to her because of the coinstar transaction. The white guy behind me wasnt even bothered, nor was he acting impatient. She was just being a racist hater! Also, another employee there who is an older white man seems to think its classy to cough without covering his mouth whenever I walk by! EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I hate this location! Dont come here if youre black/brown.

The store is great . Just dont like being followed like a thief. I have never stolen or been a thief so maybe the store can find a better approach to catching or scoping out shoplifters. Instead of profiling people that might look a certain way. Or whatever the reason to pretty much standing over my shoulder the entire time Im trying to shop . Its creepy and uncomfortable. Theres just something about the atmosphere at Safeway. I usually find that my mood has improved by the time Im queueing for checkout. So much so that Ill strike up small talk with my fellow shoppers and am looking forward to interacting with the cashier. Because the cashiers will usually pass on some little nugget of information that will turn my groin into a full on smile as Im exiting the store.

Theyve improved quite a bit since Corona. Im glad that they enforce the mask policy. The store is really nice throughout.the bathrooms are gross but overall I dont use the restrooms there it looks a lot cleaner.You will though run into really selfish horribly disrespectful customers.As a whole, they appeared to have added a few open registers during the day.Im glad because for years, they were always under staffed. And it effected customers.But now, the employees seem friendlier, and theres much better service.4-19-2023After some time . Id say. Its a mixed bag. I took away two stars for the attitude of quite a few of the employees. In the morning especially, there are some rude register ladies. You know, that resting face.They see you waiting by the display case that says wait for help. But dont acknowledge you . So I just leave.To bad, its like a cycle with the employees they hire or the management is bad.The deli girl is one of the rudest people is seen. She usually wears a red shirt. Avoid this one. Ive also witnessed her talking down to an older guy working with her. .Sunday is gross in the produce dept. Almost like they just let half of the stuff thats left is well past the expiration sit. Deli staff made my sandwich without gloves in and the kid that made it kept running his hand through the front of his hair each time he looked up and asked me a question. Tried to be cool and let the manager (Tracy) know about it and she rolled he eyes at me and said thats not my department.Wow.... I try to be nice and cool about things but Tracy was incredibly condescending and could not care less about getting some feedback from a customer. She should not be working with people in any way, shape or form.

The folks that run this store dont seem to care about customer service or consistent quality. I tried to order a several cases of products on a few occasions. Never has it worked out for me. Last time I was here, I was over charged on several items. After bringing it to the checkers attention I was told I needed to wait in line as he was already helping the next transaction. Line was six people deep. As per usual only two check stands open. This was 6pm on a Friday. I called the corporate customer service number regarding the five items I was over charged for and they offered me a 10.00 credit. I was told store manager would call me back. Nothing. The two saving graces in this store? Marisal thats works in the deli and Suzie up front.

Since we moved to Sacramento this is our new neighborhood Safeway. It basically has everything we might need food wise. Nice place to shop and plenty of room to walk around for a Disabled, walking with a cane guy like me. The staff there are friendly and helpful to us. I would recommend this place to all my family and friends. 😁

So appreciative of the checker that opened a register tonight for my 94yr. Old grandma and I.It was coupons day and Friday specials. And we had quite the list. LolMy grandma is quite savvy with her couponing .She has skills !. A coupon pro. But,....Often the checker is so busy and in such a rush, that they forget there customer service skills.But not today! .The clerk today was wonderful,took her time and had amazing customer service skills. And acknowledged every coupon of my grandmas .Thank you very muchI recommended shopping at this grocery store.Ps. My grandma saved over 50.00 tonight with coupon skills.

DO NOT ORDER A SANDWICH FROM THE DELI COUNTER. Regular sandwiches (6 inches) are $8.99 and a Large (12 in) are $17.99! And they dont put that much meat on them. The people who make the sandwiches are pretty slow as well. I went in the afternoon, after lunch time, and they were out of a lot of ingredients. They only had one type of bread left, they were out of ham, and they had to go get a couple ingredients before making my sandwiches. I paid $51 for 3 sandwiches. The premade sandwiches in the fridges by the door are cheaper, bigger, look better, and require no wait, so just get those.

This store is clean, bathrooms remain open, the staff at large are helpful. There have been times when there are customers wandering around without a mask and I dont know exactly where the onus falls in those situations. There is usually parking available and a gas station nearby so it is a good place to get a few errands done at once.

I love this store I go there for all of my grocery shopping. They make it easy if youre on a budget. All the staff are super sweet and genuinely kind to everyone. My only constructive criticism is that there is not a self-checkout Lane, And sometimes there arent enough Check stands open so sometimes you end up standing in a long line for a bit. But its my favorite place to shop.Theyve got a GORGEOUS floral & balloons/gift section.

Safeway, is an Iconic grocery store brand. Located on a busy intersection, Manzanita and Fair Oaks. The interior of this location was clean and staff ( though they appeared to be only a few) were attentive. The parking lot is very busy as it is shared by a Riteaid, animal hospital, and the Safeway as achor stores.My personal experience inside started with not being able to find a cart near the store as the storage area near the building was empty of them save a cart which was not in good repair. Prices, though high everywhere seem particularly high here. I routinely shop with family and friends at severy different stores and this appeared to be, at least, on this occasion the most expensive.I have some mobility issues and when ever I can utilize the motorized shopping carts. The only one I found in the store was locked up with a bike lock, and the customer service desk was unmanned.All that being said they had a great selection of most items. If your are looking to save some money, Winco in Orangevale, or Walmart locations maybe easier on your wallet. Location also includes a gas station with a small mini mart. Again the price point is higher than its nearest competition, An AM/PM accross the streetAll in all, I would say there is a premium price for premium emenities. Which there is nothing wrong with, as you get what you pay for.

Its a Safeway. Generally speaking, the store is clean, staff is helpful, and the produce fresh. The butcher will gladly cut meat the way you want, upon request. Only complaint is whiskey is kept in a locked cabinet. You push a button to request staff, which is announced. Seldom do they arrive in a timely manner. Sometimes, not at all. Just ask for anything out of Premium Cabinet at checkout. They will put someone on the job.

This is the main store where I grocery shop. The store is kept clean & everyone is professional, friendly & helpful.There are times (due to my health) Im not able to get out. Safeway has a delivery service, I am so grateful for. Whose delivery drivers are equally clean, professional, friendly & helpful.There have been a couple of errors, but Customer Service was quick to make it right.If youre wondering why I didnt give them (5) stars? They may well deserve five stars, but I rarely give anyone that fifth star b/c I believe there is always room for improvement. And to me, five stars means perfect. God be with you! 😇

Today I was in your store and lost my house key I was completely blessed by this young man DeShawn who went completely above and beyond helping me to find it..we had walked the entire store and he even checked through swept debris to assist me..well I had just about given up and had my 90 yr old mother with me and groceries in car when he suggested we look in parking lot and low and behold there was my key..I cannot tell you how relieved I was!!! Then this beautiful soul grabbed my hand looked me in the eyes and told me sometimes we just have to calm down and let it come !!! I just had to share how much of blessing he was to my frazzled self hahaha I will NEVER forget him and he will be my reason to become a faithful Safeway shopper!!! Thank you Safeway 😊

They put a worker at the entrance now who told me his job is solely to disinfect each shopping cart/basket before giving it to a shopper. And the young employee was very thorough, I watched him. He had a good attitude too. I appreciated this being done to protect the people shopping in their store.

I love the neighborhood shopping experience. Every employee lives in my community and is a personal friend of mine. Friendly, helpful, courteous, and concerned about your needs. I usually buy my center of the store goods here. The products on the selves. Compared to the other stores around town, they have the best deals if you are a club member and generally lower prices. Lets take today, I went in without looking at the weekly mailer, but with a list. I saves 50% off of my purchase and I got everything, with a bit extra, I went in to buy. The staff are also generally kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. However, they are not as easy to find as one might think.

Since they were bought out a few months back things have gone down hill a little. Never seems like they have quite enough staff working at whatever department or check out line you go to. Otherwise, I have been coming here for 2 decades for my vast majority of shopping and the workers are friendly and helpful. Done a decent job increasing their organic and gluten free but its still more of a get what you need usually, not a ton of gluten free options yet.

I stop by here on my lunch breaks whenever my route allows me to. I find that their sandwiches are better than any others Ive found, they usually make them quick, and I get served with a smile each day.Overall I just think this is a nice store with good people and Id rec commend it to anyone.

Ive been going to the Safeway on Manzanita since I moved back to Sacramento 3 years ago. This last week it seemed like a different store. I didnt recognize any of the cashiers, Im 81 and had to bag my own groceries yet there were Safeway employees here and there yet no one was bagging. It felt like I walked into a whole different store. Ive been a loyal customer to Safeway my whole adult life but Im ready to go across the street to Bel Aire or somewhere else. Im not happy with Safeway service anymore. They must be under new ownership or management and replaced the regular staff. Too bad.

A great grocery store in Carmichael. They also have the best florist department in town. Their florist department have been my go to store for all of my flower arrangements (for Valentines Day, Birthdays, etc.) at a reasonable price. I have no complaints about the service, except I wonder sometimes what the hold time is on some of the food in the deli section. We like the produce and the store is clean. However, the store does not have signs indicating that masks should be worn by customers, nor do signs indicate that any enforcement of face coverings or social distancing is made. I have seen many people without masks in the store despite the governor and county health office stating these are required for all indoor spaces, the corona virus is not going away anytime soon, we do not want to shop in a store that does not care about their employees or shoppers. It is a pity to lose customers because they need to protect themselves. We go where the company cares.

Safeway is a good grocery store. What does store requires masks for entry it surprises me when they have cashiers with face shields on.A face shield is NOT a mask and does not filter out infectious organisms. Theyve done well getting rid of the face shields. Today was an experience. Came to Safeway at 11:30 checking out at 12:00. About $200 of groceries. And the only stands that are open are self check and the less than 15 items. There is no regular check stand open. I dont like the self check here although I used it. I needed help approximately four times because the scale is very sensitive and if you just bump it with your leg it freezes the whole system. Very frustrating today.

The area businesses were appropriate to what you may consider ad being in is a nicer, safer, neighborhood.The security guard stood by the front door, outside, for the entirety of my visit and everyone was very pleasant, the only reason I am not giving it five stars is because I cannot.A 5 star rating to me is when a business goes above and beyond what a normal business would naturally do on a day to day basis. Earlier today I made my way up to my local Safeway Foods Store, where I proceeded up to their in store customer service desk and was just blown away by the level of kindness and helpfulness I had received. Lisa, the store employee that helped me load some money on my Visa pay as you go card was great! She treated my transaction as if I was loading a million dollars onto my card. Usually 1 to 2 registers open with no true fast checkout option. After 9 theres usually 1 cashier and the line goes deep into the aisle. Have bought expired cheese which was sitting next to fresh cheese from their cheese kiosk. The bakery manager is horrible. On Tuesday our baker informed us that she had Covid and was unable to do my nephews wedding cake for the following Saturday. We all frantically called every bakery we could think of.. online Safeway Advertises a three tier wedding cake starting at $117. I went into the store and ordered the 3 cakes... a 5in... a 8in... and a 10in chocolate wedding cake and their associate told me what to pay.. the price was cheaper then what I nline said. I made sure to give them clear directions and the associate took a clear picture of the cake we wanted with her cell phone. They were only making part of the cake. I was doing the two other layers and all the gum paste flowers. Plus the grooms cake. Not only did they frost the cake with whipped chocolate frosting instead of the white butter cream I asked for since the wedding was outdoors. But when I asked how the mistake happened since they had a picture. The bakery manager was snarky, rude, and blamed me for the mistake. Telling me I left before they finished filling out the order form. Which was untrue I wrote wedding cake on the prder form myself.. I didnt try to get over in anyway.. She tried to insinuate I tried to cheat them on the price. Saying to me that even though I didnt want them to do any of the flowers because I was making them myself and even though I didnt need them to provide the stacking hardware I should of been charged for those items. She stated that wedding cakes needed to be ordered four months in advance. All I needed from them was 3 chocolate cakes covered in white butter cream. No decorations... no tip work.. Why would I pay for things I wasnt asking for. Safeway requires 24 hour notice for any other cakes. The cake traveled 3 hours. When the five layers were stacked, the safeway layers failed and the cake started to collapsed within minutes. I had to take the top two layers off the cake and set them aside. I believe the manager did the cake wrong on purpose because she is vindictive.

I tried to pay for my Dodd three times people behind me were rushing me the self service help was busy. She was taking the slowest of time and as a disabled person for me to say that you should picture a robot that is without oil. I look at her and say can you please help me pre trigger and I then told her I’m sorry I have a panic disorder CPTSD. One of my multiple mental illnesses. She then LAUGHED in my FACE there were people everywhere. I was embarrassed humiliated and then triggered to the MAX. Mental ILLNESS IS REAL. The store is not following the county mask mandate set in place July 31st. The first time I was in the store on the 31st they were a lot of people not wearing mask no one asking people to put on masks. At the front of the store was a small sign taped to the outside of the door that was flapping in the wind so no one could see the mask mandate notice . I went back today and same sign except taped better and again no one asking people to wear mask. When I asked somebody if they were enforcing it they stumbled over their response and said they didn’t know. I think it’s important that Safeway corporate understands that their stores are jeopardizing their customers health.The mandate is not an option which Safeway fails to understand.. Safeway says they will try to get people to wear their mask. They’re being reported to the county.

Went to Safeway today to see what they had for lunch.Theres a nice selection at the deli counter if you want a good lunchtime special.I opted for a baked chicken plate.The baked chicken was moist and flavorful.The jojo potatoes were warm and crispy.I took a chance with the macaroni salad and was not disappointed as I usually am.The macaroni salad was simple and tasty.Most times pre made macaroni salad is too vinegary and the veggies are limp.Not so with this salad which left me pleasantly suprised.I will definitely return again for this delicious lunch meal, and I urge you to try it yourself!

This location has extremely long lines most of the time because they have only one checkout open and 20+ people. There is no self checkout and the employees put the baskets away after 8 pm because people steal them. I suggested many times that they should put security tags on their baskets like Target does. I nearly tore my thumbnail off at the checkout while put my items on the conveyor because the checker was motioning me to hurry up. Im disabled and shopping is difficult at times so rushing me makes it more difficult. I called on Monday March 6th and placed a order with the bakery for a Birthday Cake. I was told they only needed 24 hours notice. I gave them 72 hours notice. Its a nice store. It can be hard to find help unless you get some one from the front check out area. Carts can be hard to come by or at the door thats closed off at the other end of the door that is open.

I only go to Safeway to buy off-brand diet cola — something Bel Air doesn’t carry. At least Safeway finally installed self-serve checkout registers. Their Monopoly game is a waste of time, and needing a free membership (card) for lower (but not low) prices is annoying.

Not one of their better days. Dairy case had a lot of expired yogurt. The meat case had a completely empty bin where the chicken normally is. The checker was whining and complaining. Perhaps tomorrow will be a better day.

High prices even with a Safeway card. Spoiled hamburger meat (they spray the outside of the loaf with red food dye to make it look fresh, but the inside is dark brown). Filthy and unattended mens bathroom. Dour and overpaid employees. They always ask you if you want a bag; they never ask you if you want a bag for 10 cents.

They have days in which you can buy inexpensive meat in replacement for a good steak. Some items can be too pricey compared to Raleys. They dont have self check out so waiting time can be 10 minuyes or more if the place is crowded. Though it is a good alternative if your go-to market or grocery doesnt have what youre looking for.

Tracy with an E is a front end manager with a very aggressive attitude. When I was checking out my groceries she was yelling at her colleagues next to my ear (not literally, but not necessary). I leave this review because it was hard to see a young lady be mistreated by a higher up. Very upsetting situation. Hopefully Tracy can be nicer to her colleagues.

Of all of the Safeway stores I have entered this was the dirtiest grocery store I have ever been in. My husband and I needed to use the restrooms and they look like they had been seeing a cleaning crew in years. This Safeway is severely understaffed. Not a single worker in sight while trying to find something. Also, this store has TWO bulk sections apart from each other - leading to a state of annoyance and confusion. Always a line at their one-and-only open check out. This store is probably the worst place to go out of all others. Granted you have to deal with homeless and drug attics at the others but at least they have enough help on hand to get you whatever you need from a locked cabinet rather than wait 10+ minutes until you finally give up on what you needed. And not only that their is only 1 register open while you watch other employees walk around just chit-chatting away. Since when was this site purchased by Caltrans! I do all my shopping at safeway, Tons of deals and there is some great employees 60% of the time. The wait can be soooo long though, this is deff not a place for a quick in and out. Usually typically on a not so busy evening you wait 15 mins in line. I love that there is gas rewards and the gas station is right there in the same parking lot. BUT at this location there is a major issue with tweakers hanging out all over the entrance area and also a lot of homeless people. A man tried and get in my car before, another time a man followed me around the store and my son in the parking lot told me he was taking pictures of us, another time a man blocked me from trying to pull out of the parking area. I advise woman try not to go alone in the evening and at night, be aware of your surroundings! At night it is very bad here. I hate that Safeway does nothing about it.

In my experience, the Safeway in Carmichael is terrible. On multiple occasions this Safeway: (1) has sold me expired food, (2) sold me items that do not match the sales price, and ( 3) constantly had power outages that causes lines to be about an hour long.Going into this Safeway is a nightmare. I try to minimize my visits as much as possible. Other Safeway stores are 1000 times better. Im a big fan of the Safeway brand but HQ needs help this store location.

Friendly people and average assortment of products. Strange that this Safeway, as well as the one on Madison always seem to have several items that are just not carried for some reason. I dont encounter that at Raleys or the Safeway in Folsom. What do I mean? What if you remember you needed an AC filter for the house and dont want to deal with Home Depot? Safeway does not have it, Rite Aid next door does. Like Blue Diamond Almond Coconut milk? No large ones in the refrigerated section, just Almond. Settle for the small boxes on the shelf.Things like that where I wonder why do they not have that particular thing. All in all an average supermarket, and as others have said they take some time to react when there are too few cashiers and the lines are getting long.

This Carmichael store has poor management, poor service at ck stand, nqever asks handicap if you need help unloading cart. Tall mountains of unopned.boxes all over the aisles..what does the night crew do? Long lines often, one checked..no extra help unless customer asks for extra checked to come from back area, this is the worst Safeway in Sac and its in a Hi End area..some young baggers are positive and try hard, but checkers are slow and way to social as patient Carmichael people just wait some silently and Rarely ask for more checkers..electric carts are often not charged.. I go 5 e tra miles to Coyle ave Safeway, a well run store All around.. District office or CEO from Pleasanton need to do audit of this store ASAP.. and why pallets and moveable mechanical inventory on the floor all hours of the day, terrible for handicapped..also, why can employee get hurt on job, write a accident report and be refused access to Dr repeatedly...OSHA and your Union needs to be involved here
