Being in glasses for 8+ years, and contacts for about a year, it became an everyday thing for me, specially night driving. I had a decent prescription and a an astigmatism in both eyes. I had a consultation and was told I was a great candidate! I decided to finally get the LASIK surgery and I could never be happier. I am currently one week post op and was seeing 20/20 the morning after. It was such a painless and easy process. I went back to work right after my post op appointment and resumed everyday activities. The whole team at Saddleback Eye Center is great. I am very happy with the outcome and wish I did it sooner!Thank you to Dr. Manger and his whole team for making the process as smooth as possible!

Initially I was hesitant to do LASIK procedure due to my age (63) but I was willing to do in depth eye exam and see if Im candidate at all. Front desk and staff was so friendly and welcoming that I immediately felt relaxed and was ready for next step. Each team member put time and effort to help me understand every step that needs to be taken in order to move forward. Knowledge and expertise of Dr. Nguyen made me to decide to do same day procedure. During procedure I felt that Dr. Manger as well the nurses who were assisting with procedure were able to read my mind ( my need to move/blink ) and guide me what to do at every step of procedure, making me very relaxed.I drove home same day without my progressive glasses. It has been only seven days since I had procedure, I can read and see in distance without glasses. Its just amazing feeling that after 10 years of wearing glasses Im able to write this review without them. I recently had LASIK surgery on both eyes same day as the eye examination on 5/29/24. The quality of care exceeds far more than any rating can provide because there isnt a number sufficient to changing a life with vision! My vision went from 20/60 wearing glasses for everything (driving, reading, working, near/far sightedness) to now, needing no glasses for everything 20/20 In addition to this life changing surgery, I was met with the most caring, competent, patient, and organized individuals part of the incredible TEAM that guided and helped me through the entire process. Along with the team, Dr. Manger worked with me and crafted my eye surgery plans in which included the newest laser technology, and his expertise. I appreciate that I was able to learn a great deal about my eyes and what exactly the procedure entailed. I was going through the surgery procedure, and before I knew it; this amazing fast procedure was complete. I was finished - New Vision !! Dr. Manger and the Team were very hospitable. I was well cared for after the procedure, since I took myself in for the surgery, I was provided transportation and hotel accommodation for same day to rest and be ready for the next day check in. It was a great experience as I was provided guidance on how to take care of my new vision every step of the way including after the procedure Another important takeaway was that I was working the next day!!! Saddleback Eye Center made getting LASIK feel like one of the easiest things in the world. Everyone who worked there and worked with me was extremely nice, caring, and answered any and every question I had from the moment I walked in. They were extremely professional and took me step by step about the entire process. They made sure I understood what was happening and what each step was going to be like. They took care of me every step of the way. For the LASIK itself, they made the whole thing super fast and easy and made sure I was well taken care of and had everything I needed for the procedure. The procedure itself was so fast and painless that I couldnt believe it. Ive wanted LASIK pretty much my whole life and getting it done was one of the best decisions Ive ever made in my life and I wouldnt of wanted it done anywhere else except Saddleback Eye Center. I didnt really know how it was going to go walking into this, but I couldnt have asked for a better experience. Everyone there went above and beyond my expectations. I have already told all of my friends and family who have wanted LASIK to go to Saddleback because they actually care, and they will take care of you. Everything was great. My partner did laisk here and it was easy and his eye now can see 20/20! They are nice, informative and friendly. You will do 24 different tests to see if you are a good candidate and it is free. If you do the it the same day, you will get some discount. Whole expenses come out $5000! They provide you a brief lunch, a night accommodation in a nice hotel and the ride to come back the next day morning! We definitely recommend this place.

I went to Saddleback Eye Center a month ago for a consultation, I needed to get lasik done quickly because my poor vision was about to keep me from getting a job. I have heard of Saddleback Eye Center and Dr. Manger through their ads on KFI AM640 pretty much my whole life, and let me tell you there is a reason they have been around so long. Dr. Manger and his staff are professionals in every sense of the word. I had consultations at competing eye surgery centers, and Saddleback is just in a league of its own. They have the best pricing, the best availability for surgeries, and the most comforting and assuring environment.Eye surgery is a delicate thing, you want to make sure you have the absolute best performing the procedure. Dr. Manger is a legend when it comes to Lasik. Hes done an insane amount of surgeries throughout his long career, something like 90,000? They really spend a lot of time with you informing you of the process and you can tell they are really passionate about this stuff.My vision was immediately better after surgery, its the biggest night and day difference, its very jarring actually. How did I live so many years of my life with blurry vision? I can see details I never knew existed before its amazing! I cant recommend getting Lasik enough, and if you decide to do it, make sure its with Dr. Manger!Thank you!

Today marks 14 days since my procedure. Ill keep this brief but start from the beginning. Ive worn glasses since I was 9 years old. Im 48 now. I have no memory of being able to see without glasses really. I wore contacts in my late teens through 20s and into my 30s but my eyes are dry and they really bugged me. Ive been terrified of Lasik because I didnt understand the procedure. My husband and I just recently relocated back to CA (his hometown) and we were listening to John Kobelts show and heard his commercial and his own testimony.The exam was free so I decided I had nothing to lose. I want to be in the water more AND be able to see clearly. Honestly, I wasnt convinced Id be a candidate. I made my appointment for two weeks out.I was amazed to learn they did same day surgery and that that would be an option. I started the exam process and for two hours of testing I wasnt sure I was a candidate until they finally confimed that I was. AND I had my surgery that day! I was scared but they have amazing staff that walk you through EVERY moment of every step happening through the entire process. They keep you calm. I felt so cared for and so at ease with the entire procedure once I was on the table.My vision was blurry for the rest of that day and when I woke up Saturday morning and started putting my rewetting drops in I COULD SEE 20/20! Im still not quite convinced its real. Im living a whole new life now. Im no longer dependent on glasses to drive!My heart is so grateful.

I have been thinking of getting LASIK for several months and more so since it was time to get another eye exam in order to get more contacts. I started doing research on the procedure and how its changed over the years. Through google I found Dr Manger and had remembered hearing about him on the radio. I read through his bio and then read all the amazing reviews on Yelp and thought this is the doctor that I want to have my procedure done by. I made an appointment for the next morning and was so happy I did! I decided to have the procedure done the same day and from the start of the exam, to see if I was a good candidate, to finishing the procedure, it was an incredible experience. The whole staff is amazing. They really take good care of you and make you feel comfortable! Now I can see my phone and read text and emails without having to put my glasses or contacts on. My vision for far away is great as well. I ended up choosing to go with Mono vision and so happy with my choice! I have already mentioned it to my friends on how happy I am now that I can see so well and now they want to get LASIK by Dr Manger! Do it! I cant believe I waited so long to be able to see this freely. I never even imagined that this kind of vision was possible. I walked into the doctors office seeing 20/1000 and by the next morning, I was seeing a perfect 20/20. The staff was so educational and very thorough in explaining what the procedure is and all the steps to make sure its successful. Dr. Manger is truly phenomenal. From the second he walks into the room, you know youre in the best hands. The entire staff is so helpful. Sarina and Mimi, who were in surgery with us, are the kindest souls. Not only did they make sure I was comfortable and felt safe, they also gave me continuous support and guidance throughout the entire procedure. I thought I would feel more nervous than I did and thats because they were there to take care of me. If youre going to get Lasik, it has to be at Saddleback Eye Center. I was super nervous about getting LASIK, but have wanted to get it since I was a kid. After checking out a few other places, I settled on Saddleback eye Center due to Dr. Mangers stellar reputation in the area.I could not be happier about my decision. The process was easy and everything was explained in detail, and its small enough that you get individual attention. Dr. Manger was very professional and although the surgery was nerve wracking ( no one likes tools coming towards your eye) I made it through with no pain, and relatively little inconvenience. I could tell my vision was improved the second I sat up from the operating table, and a quick 3 hr Valium nap later it was pretty clear!Today I went back for my post op appointment to get my contacts out and a checkup, and 4 days after surgery I CAN SEE 20/15!!! As a 23 year old, I am so happy I am able to see clearly without the need of glasses Ive worn my entire life. The experience I had with Dr.Manger was fantastic from start to finish. I received LASIK here on 8/21/19.After a few years of tossing around the idea of LASIK, I decided to come in and get it done. While I expected the process to take much longer and be more involved, I was happily surprised to learn that there was virtually no steps I needed to take beyond taking eye-drops for the next few months.I can honestly say that getting LASIK was the best choice I could have made. I was SICK AND TIRED of contact lenses (taking them out, cleaning them, not losing them, being careful when in/around water, ETC!) and glasses were no better (distorted view, always cleaning them, trying not to lose them, ETC!). The idea of LASIK was too good to be true - get rid of all that and have better vision than before? Unbelievable! Except...it is believable... Every morning, I wake up with perfect vision, no contacts, no glasses, NO HASSLE!If you are reading this review since you are unsure if you should get LASIK, I can say that (assuming you are qualified etc) the answer should be a resounding YES! And if you are reading this review to see whether you should get LASIK here or elsewhere, let me tell you about Dr. Charles Manger.After 86,000 procedures (which checks out! 26+ years allows for about 10 a day), Dr. Manger should be considered an expert in his field (an expert in this sense being someone who has mastered their craft after 10 years of practice). The process of the LASIK procedure was so quick, so simple, and so painless, that there is no other doctor out there who could provide so much information while remaining so calm and relaxing, and also provide 20/15 vision! Maybe that last part is rushed, but rest assured that a decision to get LASIK here is a decision that is the best one you can make given the comparable options in the area. Thank you!

Ive gotten two procedures here. One was a LASIK when I was 18, and honestly my experience was pretty great. My vision vastly improved, and the results lasted me almost 20 years. But recently my vision started fading again, so I came back to see what they could do. They recommended that I get a PRK procedure, and gave me the impression that I was a good candidate. However the results didnt last. 2 years later I am back in glasses. Granted that I have given this business about $8K across the 2 procedures, you would think they would stand by their work, but no dice. They wanted to charge me an additional $200 just to see whats happening. I get that I am older and it is natural for my vision to start having more issues, but I really would have preferred to not have wasted another $4K on PRK if the results were so unreliable.In short, they may recommend an expensive procedure regardless of whether you are a good candidate and not stand by their work. Buyer beware.Edit: Since they can reply to me, but I cant reply to them publicly, my nearsightedness had returned and I had continued to use the lubricating drops (and that is what they were supposed to have fixed), the original point stands. They waive their fee to follow up only if you go through with another more expensive procedure. No standing by their work, and they deserve to be publicly called out on it if thats the case.

They said same day review and surgery but that’s not the case. They advertise that on the website, on their ads, on the video they have you watch, and during the call to schedule the initial appointment and it’s a total lie.The surgery time available was 2 months away from the eye review appointment. They said the review was done by Dr Manger, but that was not the case either. I arranged my entire week around getting the procedure done that day. Took the day off from work, placed my dogs in doggy daycare and kept my work appointments light for the next 2 days, canceled my training session at the gym and canceled a tee time for Saturday.

I had the best experience here! Everyone from the office staff to Dr. Manger was incredibly kind and extremely helpful. They answered any and all questions I had. I loved how thorough the exam process was. Including Dr. Manger, there were 3 doctors who checked my eyes to make sure everything was consistent, which gave a ton of confidence in the safety of their whole process. My vision went from 20/400 to 20/20 in essentially a matter of minutes. I never felt nervous at any point in the process, and Im extremely happy with how everything turned out! This was easily one of the best decisions of my life, and I recommend anyone whos thinking about this procedure to go here.

Ive had bad and increasingly worse vision since I was 12 years old. My brother pushed me to get LASIK at 31 because he was going to do it. He did research and found Dr. Mangers office as the highest rated and we both got appointments for our surgery. I got LASIK this past September 2021, and it was amazing. I went in for my exam and had the surgery immediately after, so was only in the office for around 2 hours total. Its crazy - you can see immediately, though then you go home to recover. After nearly 20 years of wearing contacts and glasses, with immense near-sightedness and astigmatism in both eyes, this has been absolutely life-changing. My quality of life has improved immensely. I went back for my 6 month checkup today and I now have 20/15 vision. The staff and doctors and Dr. Manger himself are all wonderful, kind, helpful, approachable, and knowledgeable. They give you so much info on a speedy and healthy recovery, and I could not imagine a better place to get such a delicate procedure. Thank you Dr. Manger and everyone! My life is changed.

I had a great experience with Saddleback Eye Center! I was originally seeing 20/400, and the next day after surgery I was already seeing 20/15! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! They make sure you know whats going on and are very accommodating. They also sell polarized sunglasses at a discount, now I have some cool new shades that I can actually wear now 😎 Dr. Manger is definitely someone you can trust. I couldnt be happier!Update—Just had my follow-up exam after 6 months, my vision is still 20/15! I forget that I even had to wear glasses, very happy!

I have to tell anyone who has been turned down by every 1 hr hack cheap eyeglasses place, who told me I would never qualify for any kind of corrective eye care procedure, to not give up ever !!!!!!!! I found Saddleback Eye Center through a radio show. I went for a consult and was treated with the utmost respect and honesty too. You are a person in the eyes of the staff at this establishment, and when I was told I qualified I cried all the way home. I wore glasses/contacts most of my life too. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, the procedure is simple, it goes fast and when I got up the first thing I did when I found anything written or typed on paper was I read it for the first time with no blur, I didnt squint or strain my eyes!!!!!!!!!!! I have been blessed with getting back my 20/20 vision! I followed all instructions I was given by the staff and I have never been so pleased and happy! About 30 days ago, i had lasik eye surgery. I did post this review about a week after surgery. I wanted to wait a little bit longer for my google review. Similar to my lasik journey. I looked into lasik 3 times before this ar different eye centers. Im so happy I chose Dr. Manger. Choosing the right Dr. really does matter.Knowing it does take 6 months to a year for my eyes to fully adjust as told to me by Dr. Manger and his staff, I am 100% so happy I decided to have the monovision lasik. Best decision i made.I only wish i wouldnt have waited so long. If you are seriously considering it, go to Saddleback Lasik Eyecenter. I had Lasik surgery on both eyes with astigmatism. He corrected everything and my vision is great. I am so excited to be able to see my phone without cheaters. Dr. Manger and his staff are very patient, kind and professional. They did over 15 eye tests to make sure everything is correct. I had the absolute best experience with Saddleback Eye Center! Dr. Manger and his staff were professional, accommodating, and so supportive. Since I came from out of town and was by myself, they paid for me to stay in a local hotel after the procedure. Getting a hotel shuttle to and from the office the day of and the following morning was no hassle at all.Now for the important part - my vision. I had an astigmatism and went from seeing 20/800 to 20/20 the next day. I am one week post op and constantly amazed throughout the day when I remember that I can see clearly without glasses or contacts. When I started telling others a couple weeks ago that I was having it done, I was shocked to learn that so many people I know already had the procedure. They told me it is the best decision they ever made, and that I will be so happy with it. They were not wrong! My only regret is not doing it sooner.If you are at all worried about anything touching your eyes (let alone lasers!) - I get it! After being very hesitant to do any surgery I came in skeptical about how good this laser surgery is, but even before my free eye exam they sent me videos about the process and results of laser eye surgery and Dr. Manger himself. I had been contemplating getting LASIK for a while. In the age of COVID-19, I got extremely frustrated that my glasses kept fogging up while wearing a mask. No matter what I did, my glasses would fog up, and I would have to clean them constantly. I made the decision to see Dr. Manger and it was the best decision I ever made. My experience at Saddleback Eye Center with Dr. Manger was amazing and worth every penny I spent on the procedure. I definitely recommend going to one of the seminars to ease the nerves and receive you all the information needed. You can also ask any questions you have and meet the staff even Dr. Manger. The office staff is so welcoming and makes you feel like you are part of their Saddleback Eye Center family. The procedure is fast and takes only 20 minutes but the variety of eye tests is what takes the full 2-2.5 hours. They throughly look through the tests by three physicians and then Dr. Manger does the last check to finally make sure the physicians did everything correctly and it’s perfectly good to go at his perfection. Dr. Manger is honest and like everything to be perfect. He communicates with you before and after the procedure to tell exactly what is going on and will give you all the advice he has to be successful so won’t ever feel like you are clueless. When I was done with surgery, I was able to right away read the road signs and read numbers from a distance (but was not driving on my own). My visions was 400/20 and now my vision is 20/15 (which is better than 20/20). I am 26 years old and I will be free from glasses and contacts for the rest of my life because of Dr. Manger. Overall an amazing experience and Dr. Manger definitely shows why he is the best in all of Southern California!

I had been considering LASIK for many years now and I was recommended to Dr. Manger by my sister who had previously had a successful procedure here. Prior to meeting Dr. Manger, my sister was very sad because two other centers said that she was not a candidate, but Dr. Manger was able to successfully bring her to perfect vision. A well oiled machine!! If you are considering LASIK then look no further! From the moment my husband walked in the door the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place is spotless. Almost immediately after checking in and viewing a short video presentation, he was taken back for the free eye consultation where he endured a multitude of exams to determine if he was an eligible candidate for LASIK. After finding out he was a candidate, of course he took the opportunity to complete the procedure the same day to shave off a couple bucks from the overall price. He went into Saddleback practically blind with 20/800 vision, and Dr Manger turned it into an amazing 20/20!! This experience is Absolutely life changing and worth every penny! I walked in for an exam, and after their evaluation I didnt even have to contemplate whether or not I should go ahead with the LASIK procedure. I went ahead with the surgery, which is painless. 1 day after surgery and I already felt like I was seeing things in 4K. The recovery is progressing exactly as they explained to me, and my vision is only getting better. The only way I would be happier is if I had gone there sooner. Everything about Saddleback Eye Center was amazing. From communication leading up to my appointment to all of the staff on the day of my procedure and the follow up day. Everyone was polite and informative answering all questions and easing any anxiety related to the procedure. The technician doing pre-tests were very personable and assuring. Dr. Nguyen was very informative on questions I had about my eyes and the anatomy of all eyes themselves, as well as how the eye operates. Dr. Manger was amazing. He went over results of all of my tests and talked to me about how the whole procedure would go. He made sure I was comfortable and informed. My results were amazing to me, my good eye used to be 20/250. My vision is now 20/15 and better than I ever saw with glasses or contacts. We had a long drive to get to the office and we received a complementary stay at a near by hotel. There is a variety of food places to choose from nearby. The following morning the care instructions and support were amazing. Dr. Manger and his staff went above and beyond my highest expectations. Hell everyone, first of all let me start by Thanking Dr. Manger and his amazing staff they are very professional, caring and very attentive to your concerns and they answer your questions very clearly. After so many years of debating whether or not to get Lasik and just being extremely afraid and nervous of the procedure. I did a lot of research with a variety of Lasik Dr.s and finalized my decision with Dr. Manger from the Saddleback Eye Clinic. I wanted a Dr. that had the reputation I needed to feel comfortable in moving to the next step. So, I scheduled an appointment to see if I was a candidate, and I was so Happy when they told me I was. I was very impressed with all the staff putting me through a series of different preliminary tests. They even had two different Doctors who do an independent eye exam before Dr. Manger makes the final decision. Once this was done Dr. Manger re-confirmed all their test results and he himself did another one just to make sure everything was up to par. This made me feel little better but still nervous about the outcome. They are very informative about post-op and pre-op. They tell you exactly what to do every step of the way, you have two people right next to you telling you exactly what to do, which was comforting. Soon after surgery they do another eye exam, and I was little skeptical of the results and I was immediately at 20/20. The follow up the day just makes sure everything went well and its the way its supposed to be. Dr. Manger removed the two protective lenses they put in during the surgery. He looks at your vision tells you how it went. They are a very thorough practice. Im a Firefighter and I was so tired of always wearing glasses, you have glasses to drive, glasses to read. Now I only wear my sunglasses. I wish I would have done this sooner. FYI I wrote this review without glasses!!

I just had my Lasik done 6 days ago, I was already seeing 20/20 my 1st day after Lasik. My vision is better now than it was then and every day its getting better. Getting LASIK with Dr. Manger was the best decision that I ever made. Im in my early 20s and am farsighted. I never wore glasses before in my life. In college, I started having major headaches, which got worse after a long day and even worse towards my junior and senior year. I thought something was wrong with my brain! For years Id been told I would not be a candidate for Lasik. Im almost 30 and have been wearing contacts for almost 20 years. My vision was pretty bad and having to wear contacts really put a strain on my life because I also suffer from bad allergies. Im also extremely active but more often than not, I always have to carry extra contacts or prepare to have dry eyes while doing any of my activities. Ive had my contacts pop out during volleyball, surfing or at work if the weather is extra dry. I came across Dr. Mangers office from an instagram ad and something in me decided to try them out. Turns out I was a great candidate for Lasik and they were able to get me in for a same day surgery. My healing process has been absolutely amazing, I have no pain and I was able to get back to normal life almost immediately (albeit with some restrictions to ensure maximum healing). But people have been absolutely amazed at how quickly Ive been healing and being able to open my eyes and see immediately has been such a blessing. I almost cried at the eye center because I was so happy with the results. The nurses are so nice and the whole time during the surgery they were right by my side reassuring me and Id never felt so comfortable in a surgery center in my whole life.If you want quality care and maximum results, I highly recommend Dr. Manger. He has truly changed my life in ways I never thought possible. When youve been having eye sight issues as bad and as long as I have had, something this simple is truly sheer happiness. Keep in mind, 90% of the healing has to come from you. Ive been using the eye drops as instructed and following their VERY thorough after care instructions to a T and Ive had no complications thus far. Any surgery or doctors treatment requires patient active participation when it comes to the recovery. Dont assume you get lasik and then youre done. We are responsible for what we do after the surgery.What was impressive about Dr. Mangers office is that they are extremely patient and communicative of expectations before and after surgery. They also provide most of the eye drops you need following the procedure and they provide you with all the tools to ensure you follow the post-op instructions. Ive been thinking about LASIK for a long time. Ive always had bad vision and dont remember ever being able to see without my contacts. I began wearing contacts at the age of 10 and I am now 34. My biggest fear was not being able to help my children in an emergency because I literally could not see without my contacts. I also couldnt wear glasses. I heard about Dr. Manger through KFI AM 640 everyday. I finally knew I wanted and needed the surgery and booked an appointment. I have had glasses since 4th grade, contacts since 6th grade and am now 56, so I have had to deal with them for a LONG time! My vision was pretty bad. I have wanted LASIK for quite some time. Ive worn glasses since the 5th grade, about 20 years and my eyes were just gradually getting worse as I got older. I wasnt able to go without glasses and contacts irritated my eyes, so they were essentially my lifeline. I was apprehensive about getting lasik but decided just to bite the bullet and see if I was even a candidate. The whole process of being awake during the operation always turned me away from seriously looking into getting it done. I was pleasantly surprise by how accommodating and lovely the staff was during the whole process. Watching the webinar really calmed my nerves about considering to get it done so I ended up agreeing to get it done same day. It is such a blessing to be able to see without needing glasses and Ill actually be able to enjoy activities like swimming and hiking with sunglasses! The procedure didnt hurt at all. The worst of it was some discomfort from the pressure during the procedure, but the staff does a great job talking you through it and calming you down. I am so glad I got it done with Dr.Manger and Id be willing to recommend him to anyone who wants to get it done as well. Even my mom will be getting hers done at the end of the month. If you want to feel safe and taken care of, you need to get it done with the best. I wont take my eyes for granted and the feeling of being able to see on my own is a real gift. Thank you!

I scheduled a free eye exam with Dr. Mangers office to be curious and to see if I qualify for LASIK procedure. After I passed all the exams that qualified me to be a candidate, I was sure I would just window shop and not buy anything that day. However, when I was told I could have the 20 minute procedure done that same day, and for the very reasonable price they told me, I could not pass it up. I have wanted to get a Lasik procedure for so long but was always apprehensive as I wasnt sure where to go or which doctor to choose. I chose Saddleback Eye Center because not only have i been hearing their ad on KFI for years, but I have heard so many great reviews about Dr. Manger. So this year, in 2020, i vowed I would have 2020 vision and Dr. Manger would be the doctor who would make this happen, which he did. And I couldnt be happier with the results as I have finally been set free from the bondage of years of having to wear glasses and contact lenses for nearsightedness with astigmatism. I was told by many optometrist that because of my astigmatism I was not a candidate for lasik. As my eyes got worse each year the cost of new glasses was getting ridiculous. I heard an ad on the radio that Dr Manger would give a free consultation. So I set an appointment to see him. I was informed that i was a candidate. I was very excited. During the consultation I also spoke of a blurry spot in my vision. Before the LASIK he sent me to a retinal specialist and I did indeed have blisters on my retina. They were the result of steroids. I told the doctor in did not take steroids but then he asked me if I take Flonaise. Witch I did. After stopping the Flonaise I rescheduled with Dr Manger and went in with 20/60 vision and after the procedure I am now 20/25. Not perfect but I am pretty old. And I no longer need prescription glasses. Readers work perfectly. What a superstar team Dr Manger has assembled. I could not be happier with the entire experience.

I went to Dr.Charles Manger at Saddleback Eye Center last week to see if I qualified for the Lasik surgery. (Since I was over the average age for the surgery) It was very clean and organized. They put you through a lot of tests, and if you qualify, you can actually get it done the same day! -and get a discount for it! I actually got a lunch there too! The surgery went well - not gonna lie - its a little different having someone work on your eyes while theyre open. The team in the Laser room (he does the surgery with lasers!) helped keep me calm while it was going on. Overall, it was a great experience and I cant wait to see how my vision ends up!...... The next day I was rechecked - I drove myself there - and I just have to follow directions well and keep putting in eyedrops! I had LASIKs done by Dr. Manger one week ago and I couldnt be happier. The staff there was incredibly friendly and helpful. From offering me lunch while I was awaiting my procedure, to getting me a warm blanket in the OR, and finally ordering and walking me to the door of a complimentary car ride home, the experience was far more pleasant than I had expected. When I returned home the day of the operation I went to sleep for about 6 hours and when I woke up I could already see so clearly, I walked outside and looking off into the distance nearly brought me to tears. I have experienced no pain whatsoever this last week only some light sensitivity which has gotten better with each day. Dr. Manger made me feel comfortable the entire time during and before my operation and made sure to explain the process to me. Saddleback Eye Center gave me the gift of sight! I had gone to one consultation at a different center before deciding on Saddleback Eye Center. I have a very high prescription and was concerned that I might not achieve 20/20 vision. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome and at ease. Their entire staff and Dr. Manger were kind, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. They answered all of my unending questions and I was so impressed with how thorough they were with preoperative exams. Each member of their staff was highly trained, which put me at ease when I finally decided to have the surgery. They offer SAME DAY LASIK; however, I chose to wait two weeks as it was more convenient for me.They were extremely thorough in their preoperative and postoperative care, giving detailed instructions for home and providing a video that you can watch to make sure you are following the proper precautions. During the procedure, they had a person with you to keep you calm and help walk you through the steps. My one day postop appointment went well and I found that I can see 20/20! My left eye will continue to improve with time, and with proper use of eye drops. Dr. Manger impressed me with his expertise, professionalism, and his attention to detail. He spent time with me and reviewed the importance of lubricating eyedrops to get the most out of surgery. If you have any doubts, talk to their staff and they will answer all of your questions. So I wanted to confirm all the hype, and I read A LOT of the good and bad-rated reviews that I could find online about Dr. Manger. At the end, I was just so convinced. During the eye exam, I was told my vision could be improved from 20/90 to about 20/30 after LASIK. I had my LASIK procedure done 12 days ago and it is life changing. I have been wearing glasses and contact lens for 18 years and suddenly now I dont need any of those. I went in for a consult and ended up doing the procedure the same day. Dr. Manger and his staff are very accommodating. I just had Lasik done 4 days ago and I am very pleased with the results. I am farsighted so I need readers which I hated. I was very skeptical and nervous about getting lasik. Why did I wait so long?! I had heard about Dr. Manger for years on KFI. I dont know why I thought that my optometrist would recommend Lasik if I was a good candidate. I had been struggling a couple weeks ago with my contacts and was so fed up...I told my husband thats it, Im getting Lasik. He told me to contact Dr. Manger because when it comes to your eyes, you want the best. I immediately went online and scheduled an appointment. I was excited there was one available within two weeks. I was so nervous and when I read they offered same day appointments, I thought thats perfect! I wont have time to get scared and back out. From the first communication with the office the staff was friendly and helpful. The day of the procedure came and I was super nervous. The moment I arrived everyone was warm and welcoming. As they took me through all the steps and testing to ascertain if I was a candidate, they were all kind and reassuring. I was sitting there hoping I was a candidate. Dr. Nguyen finished up my testing and when he said I was a candidate I was so relieved. And then...I was nervous as heck!! Fortunately, I was scrolling FB while I waited and some of my friends that had Lasik previously were telling me it was the best thing theyve ever done. So rather than call it off, I decided to tough it out. Each person along the way was knowledgeable and did everything they could to put me at ease. Dr. Manger assured me he could correct my vision...and off we went. The procedure was a little uncomfortable. Not painful, just weird sensation and worrisome that I would move my eye and mess everything thing up! But I had my coach in there and he was AWESOME! He guided me through the process and encouraged me the entire time. Afterwards, they took very good care of me and once they were sure I was okay, they made sure I got safely to my hotel for the evening...and even offered to send a sandwich with me for dinner. They went over the aftercare instructions in detail so that I would be able to effectively start the healing. The next morning they had a car waiting to take me back to check to see how I was doing. Dr. Sciarra first checked me out and answered some of my questions and gave me additional information. Then Dr. Manger came in. And Ill tell you...it was great!! 20/20!!! My only regret is not finding Dr. Manger and his team, 10 years earlier!! Ive been a registered nurse in the ICU for 13 years and found myself frustrated on multiple occasions, that I cant see my patients or their monitors. Now more than ever, in a season of full-face PPE, I cant get through a 12 hour shift, without my glasses fogging up or falling off. Ive thought about Lasik for a long time, but was told on many occasions, that Im not a good candidate. I was also held back by my own fear. I had the lasik eye surgery done by Dr. Manger and I am so glad I did. He and his staff are very nice, caring, professional. They have 8 lasik machines and 2 additional doctors to make sure they give you the perfect fit. They have a very nice office in a great location. They fed me lunch and put me up in a nearby hotel by shuttle and provided dinner all complimentary. I have followed the after care instructions almost perfectly and continue to have perfect eyesight. My procedure was done on Sept. 19, 2020 and am in my 3rd month. What an amazing technology this is. Love that I dont have to wear glasses, can see first thing in the morning, can wear fun sunglasses. I was scheduled to have Lasik eye exam on May 6th, 2021. My girlfriend called the eye center on Wednesday the day before. The next thing you know I received a call and asked if they had any last minute cancellations. And I was on my way to get an exam. Once it was determined I was a good candidate for lasik I did it. I was the third child in our family to go to Dr. Manger to correct our vision. We returned so many times because of the excellent experience we had.The first visit you a put through a very comprehensive eye exam; I had chosen to do the surgery in the same day, and I saw three doctors and a variety of other (extremely kind and attentive) employees before going through the procedure. The amount of waiting and test may seem tedious at first, but I came to appreciate joust how dedicated the entire staff was to giving you the absolute best vision through the Lasik procedure. I came to this center for a free consultation as I have suffered from vision problems since I was 10. I was greeted by a phenomenal staff who were very sweet and helpful. They explained the process I would go through to determine if I was a good candidate for LASIK. Where do I start? I am so happy that my husband & I chose to come to Dr. Manger! From the moment we walked through the front door, we were greeted with friendly smiles and caring people. The entire staff was great!! They explained every test they were doing. Dr. Manger met with us and explained in detail why we were both great candidates. Our original plan was for my husband to have his done the same day and I would come back the next week. They explained I would be able to drive us home, so I also chose to have the procedure done that day. During the procedure (which was less than 20 minutes) there was someone sitting right next to me telling me what was happening, and how many seconds were left. When it was over, I was surprised how well I could see immediately. About two hours later, we were on our way home! I was completely confident in my vision. I had my surgery three days prior to this review. Starting from the initial phone call for the appointment, and through the entire experience, the staff was positive, helpful, professional and incredibly pleasant. It was probably one of my top customer service experiences in any sphere, especially with medical appointments.On the day of my appointment I arrived early, but they were still able to take me and get the eye exam in right away. I was an excellent candidate and opted to the procedure the same day.I had been told several years prior at a different location that because I had astigmatism I wouldnt be able to have the procedure. I was very happy to hear that is no longer the case.They explained everything they were doing and I never felt rushed. They also answered any questions I had.The facilities were very clean and organised.The procedure started with one laser procedure to allow the second procedure to reshape the cornea, then a wait of about 30 minutes, and then the second lasik procedure to actually correct the vision.I took advantage of the free hotel stay. I had arrived around 0800 and left to the hotel after the checkup post-surgery around 2:30 pm. The hotel was very nice and it was very seemless and easy.The following morning the shuttle took me back for my 745 am appointment. The instructions and post-surgery care was very clear and my vision was already at 20/15!I came here because I had numerous people recommend Dr. Manger, and Im very happy I did. Ive had no pain post-surgery and my eye sight continues to improve by the minute.I happy and wholly recommend Dr. Manger for LASIK and Im very excited for my new vision!Update 6 mos. later: my eyes continue to heal and I have 20/15 vision. 3/5/2021After 25 years of wearing glasses, I finally got tired of constantly cleaning perspiration off of the lenses, repairing broken and bent glasses. I decided to research Lasik. After studying about the procedure, and talking with people that have had it done, I decided to go for it. Several people mentioned Saddleback Eye Center and Dr. Manger, Even though Saddleback was going to cost a little more, I decided that Dr. Mangers experience and advanced equipment would be worth the cost. Here for my 6 month follow up, and I could not be happier with my vision. It honestly feels like a miracle to have 20/15 vision compared to how poor my vision was before. After the consultation it was determined that I had 20/200 vision and was a prime candidate for Lasik. I opted to do the procedure the same day. The surgery went great. With that being said, I recently had LASIK surgery here and I initially planned on only doing the pre-op exam to see if I qualified. I had inquired information about LASIK only a few days before setting up my free consultation exam to ask them about the general procedures and such. When I came to my appointment, they did a series of tests and exams. I was incredibly amazed at how the staffs and assistants were highly professional and knowledgeable. They were very nice and answered all my questions thoroughly. After the series of exam, I was told that I qualified for LASIK surgery and they even offered a same-day discount (AND I LOVE DISCOUNTS!). I went on to get the surgery and right off the bat, I could already see CLEAR! My eyes went from legally blind (without my glasses) to BEING ABLE TO SEE!!! And after the surgery, they even offered me to stay at a hotel and/or uber me to the place or back home. I got to say, this has been the best decision of my LIFE! I have been wanting to get LASIK for nearly 5 years (ever since I turned 21) because wearing glasses as an active person is very inconvenient. You guys!!!!! Its only been one day since my surgery and my vision is amazing already!! This guy is legit!! If youre thinking about getting lasik surgery, @saddlebackeyecenter is the way to go!! They are thorough, kind, gentle, and so supportive! This was a big decision for me and they walked me through every step. I can see clearly now!! I cried HARD when I called my mom to tell her how well I could see on my way home from my post-op appointment the next morning. Wanna know what the process is really like? Went in for testing and hoping to qualify. I did, and it went like this ... Testing moved fairly quickly, not rushed, lets say a good pace! Dr. Manger reviewed the tests and himself performed a few more. He then showed me what my sight would look like after surgery. Seriously? Without glasses???!!! Dr. Manager proceeded to delve into an extensive and thorough explanation of the procedure and their process. I admit ... I was a wee bit anxious because, well, its surgery on your eyes, but gotta say my gut told me everything is going to be okay! PLUS, staff. Yes, staff! They are AMAZING! They are with you all the time, though I barely had a moment to call Mom to tell her I was having Lasik! Every step of the way someone was with me. They brought me lunch, put numbing drops in my eyes and about 30 minutes later Dr. Manger called me in. Here we go ... They sat me on the cushioned table, leaned me back, and put more drops in my eyes. Dr Manger and two assistants told me to be very still. Yes, Dr Manger has a very calming voice, actually so do his assistants. One eye done at a time. The thingy they use to keep your eye open is uncomfortable, but only when he puts it in. My sight gets blurry and then I begin to feel a little pressure, still, no big deal. Be very still. The best part? Dr. Manger and his assistants are talking to you the entire time. Very calming as they walk your through the procedure and timing. Breathe. Yep, I quickly found concentrating on breathing slow and steady worked. Sure, my nerves were a bit on edge but if you listen to Dr. Manger and breathe slowly -- its OKAY! I think we counted to 60. Second eye. Same process. Next, they took me to a recovery room --I took a nap, with one of those warm blankets, nice! About 30 minutes later I was back in the exam room and Dr. Manger is examining my eyes -- surgery was very successful. I drove home, followed medication instructions and rested. Next morning met with Dr. Manger, he examined my eyes again and we went over the medications again. YES, I think having me repeat the instructions back to them is a bit excessive, but, Im thankful they take surgery and healing very seriously. Theres only been one other time I posted on YELP, I think this post is too long, but figure you ought to know! Its been 6 days. Gotta share with you -- being able to see without glasses is freeing. Because the subject is so complex, I’m sure some people may just ask how much LASIK costs and the technology used. Wow! What a great experience! I have been so nervous about LASIK for several years but finally decided to go through with it after I wasnt able to wear contacts for a full day. I looked up on the website and came in for the seminar. I was so impressed with the staff and experience of Dr. Manger that I set up my appointment the same week. TLDR - If you wear glasses it is worthwhile to get Lasik and Dr. Manger is probably the best doctor to do it with. I have been wanting to do a vision correction procedure for about 10 years now. The only thing holding me back was finding the perfect doctor and procedure. After extensive research in different vision correction procedures and doctors, I decided to go with doctor Manger. The amount of good information on doctor manger and his staggering number of prior operations played a big role in my decision. The short video/webinar he has on the website was particularly useful. Being the skeptic that I am before going in for my complimentary diagnostic visit I was not sure if all the hype around doctor Manger was just good marketing. However, the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff won me over right away. After going through the entire process, it was clear from every interaction and step of the procedure that doctor Manger has been doing this for a VERY LONG TIME and has perfected his craft over the years. After the diagnostic test I chose to do the procedure the same day. Well my boyfriend went there to get his eyes done unfortunately for him he was not a candidate and lucky for me I was. First let me say nothing in this place takes a long time no times wasted not even a minute. All the staff are so sweet they know their job and they do it very well. If nothing else i would go back just for that reason. But that is not all. I got my eyes done as said in another review, as soon as your a candidate your in and recovering all in 4 hours or less. Dr Manger is a very kind awesome doctor and he has to awesome helpers one of which helps him and the other of which helps him by helping the patient. He talks you through the whole thing, comforts you, if you had any thoughts of backing out you wont because once you know that its you they care about not your money it changes everything.. all the love you feel from every one of his staff is unbelievable. I asked my friend a month or so ago and asked him if he had to do it again would he. He told me without a doubt. Then told me of three common friends that had had the procedure done. He also told me not to mess around and use the best in Orange County that he did all the research and sent me Dr. Manger information. My friend is part of my brain trust and I trust him completely. I went to Dr. Manger met his staff the spent several hours testing my eyes and never pressured me into a decision. Because of my schedule I was unable to have the procedure done right away. Yesterday was the day. Dr. Manger completed the procedure. I was treated with respect as if I was his only patient that day. I was amazed at the results. He put me up in a local hotel and I came back in the morning for a follow-up and it was another great experience. Just wonderful. I have researched lasik eye surgery for years and was told by several doctors that my eyes couldnt be fixed. I have 20/20 vision but now that Im older I could not read anything up close anymore. Two years after my last appointment and several thousands of dollars on prescription glasses I finally went made an appointment at Saddleback Eye Center. I went in just to see if there was something they could do. Their commercials on the radio sounded so promising and sure enough, after about an hour and a half of extensive testing, they showed me HOPE. Dr. Manger and his staff showed me how they could solve my vision problems. That very same day I had surgery! They put me in a nice hotel, feed me and i followed up the next morning. I drove home without glasses and could read my car dashboard and the radio channel without reading glasses! I could finally read my watch again without squinting! I was very skeptical and I had looked into getting corrective eye surgery a few times over perhaps the past twenty years. My vision was awful; I wasnt able to recognize someone sitting across the table from me if I didnt know who it was. I wore thick, heavy glasses, which would leave a mark on my bridge by the end of the day. But I did the research, met with Dr. Mangers staff, and decided to have the procedure a couple of days later. The results are absolutely miraculous! I can now recognize my friends across the room, I can watch tv without glasses, I can see a movie without glasses, and just recently, I sat with my boys in the backyard at night, and pointed-out some of the constellations to them -- all without glasses! Its a joy to be able to run around with my boys without any glasses slipping down my nose! Dr. Mangers expertise and have the procedure performed in his office has changed my life. I was a total skeptic but now I wonder what my life would have been like if I had the procedure sooner. I only have to wear glasses now for reading and other close-up tasks but now I spent 80%-90% of my day glasses-free (before I would have to wear them 100% of the time for just about everything). This was a painless procedure. It took about 4 hours total but the surgery itself on each eye was less than one minute on each eye. Good staff great Doctor. I had my lasik procedure done a few weeks ago and I could not have been more pleased and excited for my new vision. I was referred to Saddleback Eye Center by a cousin who had his Lasik done. So far Dr.Manger has given 3 of my family members 20/20 vision. I had Same Day LASIK!!! I am ELATED with my experience with Dr Manger and his staff. I have heard his commercials on the radio now for almost 20 years. I finally decided to go for the free 2 1/2 hour exam. My first thought was if the exam is that long then they must be very thorough. And that it was. Now to get to the point. Your there for quite a few hours after exam, they do even more testing with an eye dr. Then you see Dr. Manger himself. He talks to you about what is involved and What kind of correction he can do. Ive worn glasses since i was a child so when i went into my appointment my hopes werent high my prescription was -6.5 so i was rocking some thick glasses and i thought because my vision was still changing every year I wouldnt be able to but, Dr. Manger the god send came in and said your qualified would you like to do it today? There was no pressure or gimmicks or salesperson breathing down your neck that traps you there you can say no and go at anytime. I said hell yes i couldnt sign the paper fast enough lol. The thing that really sold me Dr. Manger has never had anyone loose there vision...NEVER. The staff was so accommodating they check on you, bring you lunch, they can provide you with a hotel for the night aswell. The procedure took maybe 10 mins i felt nothing and theres always someone talking to you making sure you know whats happening and making sure your ok that was very comforting. I just left my 6 month check up 20/15 i was 20/700 i couldnt believe 20/15. The best decision ive ever made and would encourage anyone looking into lasik look no further then Dr. Manger he is the best. I heard about Saddleback Eye Center through the radio and although I’ve heard of it for a while, I was waiting for my vision to stabilize. When I finally decided to come in to see if I was a candidate, everyone was so nice, especially Carol, and it felt like a family. It felt like my family was taking care of me and always reassuring me. The facility itself is clearly state of the art. The procedure itself was so simple and the doctors and assistants were very assuring. I got a free hotel stay at the Hills which was pretty sweet cause I didn’t have to go all the way back home. Not only will they take care of your eyes but also your stomach, they feed you too! For anyone considering LASIK, Dr. Manger is definitely the person to go to because he is the best one. Just by attending the seminar and doing the same day LASIK, I saved myself almost $2,000. My dad told me about a place that was $900 but I was so hesitant because it’s not like I’m buying shoes or a coat; it’s my one and vision so there was no way I was going to go to a discount place. Lastly, just trust that Dr. Manger is the best and that every penny you will be spending is more than worth it. Six months ago my vision was 20/600 and today my vision is 20/15 (better than 20/20). I am so happy I chose to get LASIK eye surgery at the Saddleback Eye Center with Dr. Manger. My 80 year old Father got Lasik eye survery with Dr. Manger five years ago. My Dad recommended that I attend Dr Manger’s seminar to learn more about LASIK. Before attending Dr. Manger’s seminar I assumed I would wear contacts for the rest of my life. I had been wearing contacts for 17 years already. I am an UltraRunner. I run very long distances in the mountains (50km - 135 miles continuously - in one shot). I rely on my eyes to see where I am running (especially at night on wilderness trails with a headlamp). Some of my races are 100 miles nonstop, my longest race was the Badwater 135 mile in Death Valley in July (128 degrees F). At a few of my races I lost a contact lens or it tore or became dirty from running on dusty wilderness trails all night & all day. It was becoming more & more of a problem to train & race in contact lenses. At the TransRockies 120 mile race in Colorado, I was running 27 miles to Vail and my contact lens tore while I was racing. I had to take out the contact at mile 8 and run the rest of the race with one eye closed. That was not very fun!! This type of scenario where a contact lens would fail me during a race was becoming more common throughout the years.I was nervous about getting Lasik until I met Dr. Manger at his seminar. Dr. Manger is the best LASIK eye surgeon in the world. The procedure does not hurt a single bit. It feels like a little pressure on your eye for 30 seconds. Zero pain. The actual surgery is very fast. Recovery time is extremely minimal. I was able to go trail running and cycling the day after my surgery and I went swimming 10 days after my surgery. You must follow easy instructions such as wearing polarized sunglasses & using lubricating eye drops daily for the most optimal results.Thank you Dr. Manger and the Saddleback Eye Center staff for the amazing attention to detail and genuine care. I could not be happier with my results. My training & racing is so much more fun & stress free without worrying about tearing a contact lens. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. In not having to wear glasses to wearing them non-stop after 40, and getting worse as the years passed - I began to tire of them. Ive heard about Lasik, but fear my eyes being tampered with. Then listening to KFI & Tim Conway Jr., speaking about his experience and results, I went into Saddleback to see if I would be a good candidate. Thank goodness, I was. With Dr. Mangers expertise, as well as the entire Dr.s and staff, they put my mind at ease with their professionalism, kindness, and caring they extended throughout the entire time. Everyone there is beyond exceptional. After the procedure, and follow-up, I was amazed that for the 1st time after 20yrs., I could actually see/read without glasses I was in pure disbelief and astounded with excitement!! First of all I am SO SHOCKED I actually got LASIK. There I was just scheduling a consult and BAM! I had it done the same day. I went in on Friday morning and I am back at work same day able to see my computer with out my bottle cap glasses or itchy contacts. I cannot stress how happy I am with the outcome. The staff was friendly and gave me all the info upfront about the surgery. The DRs were all SO NICE! a couple of the staff members checked and rechecked items and made comments about how Dr Manager likes everything to be perfect and rechecked and that just made me feel SO CONFIDENT in the process. Did it feel like I was in a LASIK mill? kinda yes, but to be honest if thats how they make it perfect then I am ALL FOR IT! They have PERFECTED their process and there is no shame in that. When I traveled to my best friends home in Texas this last year, I had to take contact lenses, glasses to wear with them while I drove at night, sunglasses, distance glasses for when Im not wearing contacts, and reading glasses. I am an eye doctors nightmare! I heard about Saddleback Eye Center & Dr. Manger on a radio station and I called to sign up for a free consultation. They were so kind, so efficient, so thorough and so professional, that by the time my exam was over, I chose to have the surgery right then and there. That was yesterday....and today, post op appt over, I have 20/20 vision!! I chose to have one eye corrected for distance, & I kept the other eye in its natural state to use for close up...so I have mono-vision; which I used to do with my contacts. BUT I NEVER SAW THIS CLEARLY!! Im sitting in my car at Kohls (my home away from home), waiting for covid curbside pick-up, and I can see everything in the entire giant parking lot with a clarity that I never even had with my glasses!!! Shamefull lasik sales factory...Its been over 2 years and my vision never fully repaired (20/40). I still have to wear glasses at night. When they bring you in for a checkup, its as if theyre expecting you to complain because theyre well trained sales staff has a rebuttal for everything.Update a few years later. Vision never got better. This was one of the beigest regrets of my life. Do your research and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.Update again several years later. Both my husband and I got the procedure done over Thanksgiving week. I was able to drive home about an hour afterwards. They offered to let me leave the car there and get an uber or a hotel room, but we only live 5 miles away, so I felt comfortable enough to drive home. Since I was the driver, I didnt get to partake in the valium, but my husband did. The vision has been getting better every day. With all the terrible crazyness in this world, my terrible vision want helping any. Being Limited with activities with my children, especially water sports, I debated it once or twice way back in the day Yet, with the (what I thought were) inevitable complications such as, halos, less than preferred night vision, spotty vision, etc I said NO Way will I trust anyone with my eyes! If Contacts fit the bill and correct my -5.75 in Both eyes well, Atleast I can still see 2020. Until, I knew I Had to do something about my Next to blind Vision. So I did. I caught an Am radio station about Free Consultation mentioning their add, so, I signed up. Just so happend World Renound Lasik surgeon, Dr Manger was only 5 miles from my neighborhood at Saddle Back Eye Center! I had the eye exam done, I was an eligible candidate and then came down to the math(but of course) The staff worked with me on the Financing as it isnt cheap (should eye surgery be) no groupon deals for me on this one. Anyway, I cleared the funds, and After Only expecting a Consult, I ended up with Perfect Vision Correcting Decision! and absolutely Painless! All In about 15min process!?? Ah yes! 38yrs horrible sight literally turned around in minutes. Now frees me up that much more with Water sports, heavy workouts, trail running, no more fogged up, falling off glasses, or jacked up dried up, scratchy contacts! My Vision is Now truly Seeing 20/20 in 2020! My wife had used Saddleback Eye Center and Dr. Manger about 10 years ago to do LASIK monovision surgery (i.e. one eye predominately for distance and one eye for close-up). My wife is a veterinarian that loves to do surgery and therefore her eyes are critical. She is still seeing quite well without glasses but I think she will probably go back to Saddleback Eye Center next year for her first touch-up.I had both of my eyes done on 12-17-12. This was my wifes Christmas present to me. On 12-15-12 I attended a one hour free seminar at the Saddleback Eye Center. Anyone thinking of doing LASIK eye surgery in the Southern California area should attend one of these seminars as part of the decision making process. Before the seminar I was undecided whether to use another doctor in Newport Beach or Dr. Manger. The part of the seminar that made me choose Dr. Manger was how Dr. Manger specifically talked about the condition of each of three recent patients who were sharing their experiences at the seminar--he really appeared to be interested in their condition and demonstrated to me that he cared. In addition to getting my question answered about monovison, I received a $250 certificatte for attending the free seminar. I highly recommend attending one of the upcoming seminars.I cannot say enough positive things about the entire staff at Saddleback. I am the CEO of a business that also deals primarily with the public. I hope that our clients are treated as well with the we care attitude as I was treated by Saddleback Eye Center.I chose to have the procedure done the same day as the exam. I was really comforted to know that Dr. Manger had a 99.7% success rate of 20/20 vision or better for his clients (something I learned at the seminar). My procedure went well. I unfortunately had a Board meeting that same night so I finished up the procedure around 3:15 and I was back in my office by 5:15 and went to my Board meeting at 6:30. I think it would have been better to go home and keep my eyes closed for a few hours and just relax.The next morning I drove to the post-op exam and had no problem. The exam showed that I was reading better than 20/20 and I was seeing distance at 20/20. It is my understanding that my vision will continue to improve for the next several months and even up to a year.. My vision was not too bad before the procedure in that I used over-the-counter reading glasses for reading but no other corrective devices. However, it is amazing how much more you see with better vision. I was tired of things not being clear. Now they are sharp!Two days after surgery I am having absolutely no complications. I personally had no problems adjusting to monovision. I went to the gym this morning and had my workout with my personal trainer without any problems.I highly recommend that you consider Saddleback Eye Center and Dr. Manger if you need/want LASIK surgery. Being a physician working in a hospital setting, I know how important the supporting staff and physicians attitude mean to any patient. I came in for a consultation and was not sure if I would have the surgery right away or same day, but after having a very thorough examination and consultation, I decided to have LASIK the same day. I had heard about LASIK but was very scared. However, hearing how excited KFI spoke about it, I began to get curious. My husband has worn glasses for more years than I and when I heard him complain about his glasses, I thought it was a good opportunity to have him come and get an exam. This was the second of three LASIK centers I visited when I decided to get the surgery for myself. I ultimately did NOT choose them because 1) they made me uncomfortable, and 2) I found another doctor I trusted more.1) The hard sell. Throughout the consultation members of the staff tried to convince me to do the same-day LASIK surgery. I had to repeatedly tell them no. It was uncomfortable how pushy the people were to try and convince me to get the surgery right then and there. I understand why it was easier for them, but I had to tell several people several times EACH that _I_ was not comfortable with doing the surgery the same day as my consultation. Yet, it never seemed to sink in.In addition, one of the front office staff unwittingly insulted me twice when she complained about the difficulty of spelling my name and ridiculed my unusual choice for an email address. That did not endear them to me.2) Dr. Manger may indeed be one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in OC, but that doesnt necessarily make him the best. I ultimately went with another doctor who has not performed as many surgeries, but has a lower percentage of patients with complications after the surgery. For me, the quality of the surgeons experience is more important than the quantity of his or her experience.I cannot comment on their performance with the actual surgery since I chose to get LASIK somewhere else. But if you are considering it with Dr. Manger, do NOT feel that same-day is your best option. In my opinion, there are better practices in OC.

I had LASIK done here a little over a year ago. I called yesterday because I am losing my ability to read small type and I still see halos. The receptionist told me since it was a year already I would have to pay $200 to get checked. I told her I hadn’t been going out because of Covid and was most definitely not going to get that close to someone. I asked her to reconsider and she said $200. They don’t guarantee their work past 1 year. I paid a ton of money to go to Dr. Manger and he should honor my appointment because we had several stay at home orders and I am high risk. I just got LASIK eye surgery on July 17th almost two weeks ago and so far I’ve been recovering quickly with no complications and no pain with little discomfort. My eyes felt so tired but I had 20/20 vision just on day two! Day one I felt some pressure and discomfort, mild headache but no eye pain, my vision was cloudy and my eyes felt heavy so I couldn’t open them all the way. But after napping for a few hours my vision was almost perfect but still sensitive to light. The big thing for me is I suffer from bad anxiety but they did a tremendous job keeping me calm and informed the entire time. They talk you thru the entire procedure so you know what to expect and what instructions to follow, coaching you to help you stay calm and focused. Helped a lot them letting me know how well I was doing and how quickly we were going thru it. I swear the surgery felt like it took less than 10 mins. There was a point where I felt the prongs in one of my eyes and was having a lot of discomfort and they quickly reassured and administered more numbing drops. Second application of the prongs to that eye I didn’t feel it. The whole procedure was a lot less uncomfortable than I anticipated. Amazing what your eyes can handle once they’re that numb. It was just pressure. Never any pain. It all happens so fast it’s crazy. Honesty if anything the numbing eye drops before the procedure are the most unpleasant part so if you can handle the eye drops sensation you should be able to tolerate the procedure. I done goofed cause they quickly tell you what NOT to do like squint hard for example but I accidentally did so when the tape was pulled off my cheek so... prepare for the tape removal! Lol it’s just a little on your forehead and cheeks to keep the hair net and gauze in place is all. They give you a nice little set up for after care post op. These goggles that are relatively comfortable for when you sleep so you don’t touch your eyes subconsciously. Lubricating drops help a lot with the discomfort so just keep at it with those. And lots of sleep after helped me. Strongly recommend lots of napping, really does speed up the recovery process. I really liked the doctor and his team, it was almost a stress free experience. Very calm pleasant atmosphere. Side notes they offer a mild sedative to help keep you calm which I’m grateful for cause that really helped keep me calm and still. They provide complimentary lunch, hotel stay if needed with transportation and lubricating eye drops that make all the difference. Just had to go back the next day for a follow up cause they place a large contact lens over your eyes to protect the incision which you don’t really notice and they remove them on the second day when they reassess your vision. Then just got to go back for a 6 month follow up. I’m happy. After years of living with such blurry vision and being 100% dependent on glasses it’s such an extreme life changing experience. I can see just as good as I did with my glasses and it’s trippy but feels good.

Just AMAZED!!! With my results!!! His whole staff was awesome, very attentive, explaining every step of the process as we went through it, very patient and always as polite as could be. Not once did I feel like I was being pressured into anything. I started needing reading glasses about 6 years ago and was so tired of it (go get them, find them, clean them, looking over them or just trying get by without them). Everyone there is so good at what they do that I couldnt believe how quickly we went through the whole testing process but thoroughly as well. I spoke to a family friend who had surgery many years ago with Dr. Manger and recommended I check him out. After going to one of their Saturday seminars (which by the way was really helpful because I got to meet the staff before my exam the following week and ask questions) I went in for my exam and found out I was a great candidate. Dr. Manger is the only option when it comes to getting lasik eye surgery. Every team member makes the process go as smoothly as you could possibly imagine. Im not a big review guy as I have only submitted two in the last 5 years however I feel inclined to write this one as I know that trusting someone to work/operate on your eyes is probably one of the most important choices you may ever have to make. If your reading this review you are exactly where I was prior to choosing Dr. Manger here. I was referred by my best friend who got it 5 years ago from Dr. Manger and he loves his results as it literally changed his life. The process is very smooth as the Doctor has created a culture of absolute professionalism in his staff and medical assistants. Its amazing to think about how many procedures the doctor performs on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis yet Dr. Manger and his staff make you feel like its your birthday because everyone is so focused on you the entire time. The environment is very clean and sterile and due to covid they have gone above and beyond to make sure social distancing protocols are enforced and all precautions taken. Staff was beyond awesome and they even set me up with a complementary hotel nearby since I was coming from so far away. I want to give a special shout out to a lady named Carol(I think thats her name). Im not sure what her position is but she deserves a raise Dr. Manger as she WOWd us!!! She literally ran out to our car as we were heading to our hotel and made sure that myself and my GF had plenty of food for the night (Organic salads, turkey croissants and tons of snacks) so that we didnt have to leave the hotel room. LASIK surgery was incredibly easy. I went in only for an evaluation but ended up doing the procedure that day. Staff was very informed and friendly. Saw instant results that same night and everything went according to plan. Looking forward to see my eyes keep improving over the next month or so.

I have been wanting to do lasik for years and I was finally able to do it yesterday. I have never been happier!! Not only do I basically have perfect vision now (which is AWESOME) but the staff here was absolutely amazing and I dont think I wouldve been able to get through it without the help of everyone there. My only concern was that my distance vision wasn’t too bad and if the LASIK surgery was going to make that improvement. Everything and Everyone was incredibly reassuring. I did not have any fear of ‘What If’s’ because of the wonderful staff. I have thought of LASIK for over 4 years and the only reason why I held it back was because my distance vision was never bad and my reading vision was getting worse. I overheard about this place on KFI Radio and I remember hearing that once you talk with Dr. Manger, you would NOT want to go to anyone else. I definitely recommend LASIK at Saddleback Eye Center because this will change how I live my daily life. I can now freely play tennis without sunglasses or glasses!

I had a one day in-person detailed evaluation which turned out to be the day I decided to have the surgery (bilateral eyes). Do not do the surgery if you have ANY AMOUNT OF DRY EYE....even if they say it sometimes works....do not take the chance.Do not do monovision (one eye for close and one for far)if you do ANYTHING close up(even tweaze your own brows or remove a splinter in your kids foot).I can only see at desk range clearly, EVERYTHING else is a blurry. They say the monovision takes away the crispness of distance vision...but I cant even see street signs while driving so I must wear glasses to do so. Save yourself the 4+K and buy yourself multiple sweet designer frames. If you have any kind of dry eye, you will end up having to wear glasses anyway. No amount of any kind of drops help. Also, dont take any kind of solace in the fact that they will to a touch up within a year. I went for that appointment. No help.

Highly recommend this place for Lasik. A little pricier than expected but I wouldnt trust my vision with cheap price. I did the treatment the same day, they were very patient with me trying to get the finance available to do it the same day. I now have 20/20 vision and its been the best decision of my life. I used to only be able to see the large E on the eye test and now its perfect. Great place, love their customer service and everything about this office. If you need Lasik, this is the place to go to.

This place is a fraud. There is a extremely rude and miserable secretary at the front desk, Also they botched my eye surgery and I had the most painful night of my life as it felt like someone stabbing me in the eye repeatedly that night after surgery. At the eye test I snuck a peak at the report and the nurse had put that I had 20/20 vision even though I had told them everything was blurry
