I needed a dresser and stumbled onto this place on furniture row is San Marcos. I am deeply anti-MDF and wanted a true, fully wood piece. I found this shop to be brimming with authentic wood pieces that are unique and fully customizable to your taste and aesthetic. Ash was wonderful. I found a piece that was lovely, but lacked the whitewash finish I was going for. Ash customized the piece and it came out fantastic.Two weeks later, again, I was looking for a complementary piece to the dresser for my bedroom and again Ash accommodated me in whitewashing the piece. I recommend this place highly! You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I were looking for a custom table for our kitchen nook and we stumbled upon Rustic Homes. Ash was incredibly helpful on what type of wood would be good for us and helping us determine the custom measurements. We could not be happier with the final product. He even helped us customize a mattress pad for the bench that matched the upholstered chairs. We are so glad we went to Rustic Homes!!! We even went back to grab an entrance table to match our table.

I needed a fully custom bench & cushion to fill a nook, provide hideaway space for my electronics, and be a beautiful piece to add value and comfort to my home. I had very specific dimensions to build to for height, width, depth, and features, including location of the feet due to floor molding. Rustic Home was the right choice for the job!! A perfect fit!! They listened carefully to my needs and requirements and in a matter of weeks produced a gorgeous piece that my wife and I absolutely love that fit perfectly. Thank you Rustic Home! An excellent collection of eclectic tables, chairs, tables and assorted large and small furniture items. Definitely not cookie cutter name brands. Big woods. Some products can be custom ordered or modified in store. The owner Ash is a n extremely nice guy. No pressure sales. Great experience. We spent a solid hour looking and taking pictures.

Rustic Furniture is different from the minute you enter the doors. If you want something unique, a ‘stand out’ piece that will be noticed, this is the place to visit.In addition to a showroom, the store also does manufacturing which allows customizations.My husband and I wanted a special piece and the owner, Ash, worked with us to create this gorgeous dining room table. This store has hundreds of great pieces. Many with the old world look and most are beautiful solid wood pieces. Not the usual particle board poor quality pieces seen at most furniture stores.We have purchased furniture at Rustic Home and we had a custom TV unit made. The owner Ash is great and super friendly. You have to give this store a look.

Rustic Home is a beautiful shop with amazing hand crafted real wood furniture. They have an open gallery with product in-store already made and available to take home. You can also sit down for a consultation and have something custom made to fit your exact request. My wife and I had a completely custom dining set made for our RV. We picked the wood, stain, leather, and features. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect! Ash was easy to work with and delivered a product that are very happy with.

We were looking for several pieces to replace the old furnitures in our home. Ash greeted us right away and asked us what styles we like, the pictures of our living room and gave us suggestions what color can fit the living room perfectly. We ordered dinning set, sideboard and coffee table from Ash, every furniture is made very well, in such high quality. We went many different furniture stores before we walked into Rustic Home, the sales person always use many different words to describe the materials used in their furniture, and made us so confused, but I still believe the solid wood is always the best material for furniture. Ash made it very straightforwardly and no confusing at all, he only uses solid for every furniture he sells, and furnitures we received can prove the promise he made. We love very piece we purchased from him. He is first class in customer service and offers excellent crafted pieces for a fair price.

Ill start by saying the I rarely ever write reviews. Thats b/c rarely ever do I find a product/service/experience compelling enough to spend the time to do so. That said, Im compelled to give Rustic Home and its proprietor Ash a top score - 5 STARS WOOHOO!! - and to take a few moments detailing our experience.First off, let me just say that his showroom is absolutely gorgeous. Not too often that you find furniture stores filled with so many beautiful & unique pieces as Rustic Homes. In fact, I shouldnt & wouldnt even call it a furniture store b/c that sells it short... Its more akin to a gallery of one-of-a-kind collected pieces (presumably from different parts of the world!) that just feel like they have a story to tell from a previous life. In fact I regret that we only just recently stumbled upon this place as we most certainly wouldve acquired more from here when we were in full on decorating mode!!So we headed in for the first time a few months back with one specific piece in mind. We needed a 5+ foot long buffet type table, not too tall and not too deep, to fit behind the longest portion of our sectional couch. And we didnt want another more of the same type piece from Big Box places like Pottery Barn or Ethan Allen... We wanted character! So were looking around the store and a beautiful side table catches my wifes eye... The distressed look/coloring of the doors, the chunky heaviness, the old feel to the wood accented by heavy duty rusted hardware... It was just what we were looking for! The only problem... We required super specific dimensions, (the coloring beautiful as it was, was also just a touch off from what would fit best in our home. My wife then gets talking to Ash saying that gosh wed really like something likke that night stand but in more of a buffet type piece and without hesitation Ash said no problem, Ill make one for you.And that was it!! Ash created a custom piece for us (see pic!), right down the the exact specifications and finish work that we wanted to have a show stopper! As I mentioned at the beginning, it is rare to find a combination of both superior product and top notch customer service, and so I had to take a few minutes to give kudos to Ash & Rustic Homes!!

Rustic Home has unique and interesting pieces. I found a piece I loved but the size was wrong for my needs. The proprietor, Ash was friendly and helpful explaining how I could order exactly what I wanted at a fair price! It did take longer than suggested to receive the furniture I custom ordered but worth the wait! Ash had it custom finished to my preferences and it looks wonderful in my home! In addition, the delivery service Ash chose was excellent!

We recently purchased a corner TV cabinet from Ash and Rustic Home. I could not be happier with the service and the cabinet. Ash is a patient and helpful person and made my wife and I feel very comfortable from our first meeting. This occasion we had a book shelf made into a TV cabinet and it is a thing of beauty. We were looking for a Victorian Era sofa and visited every store in San Diego. We were not getting what we had in our mind, finally we were about to place an order with Ethan Allen in San Marcos; they said that they would charge us big money and I would have to wait for at least 3-4 months to get the sofa. We decided to walk into the store next door called Rustic Home and thats it, it was our final destination.Rustic Home is the nicest place in San Marcos as far as classic custom furniture are concerned. This is not merely a store, I would call it a museum rather where you feel tranquilized the moment you enter. You can have a glimpse of world class hand made stuff chiseled with extreme perfection and to your level of satisfaction. The ambiance is soothing, worth experiencing and the best & sincere customer service that you could get by Ash.I was enthralled by the assurance and commitment that I received from Mr. Ash, the man who commits and delivers to the best of your expectation and beyond. I placed and ordered for an artistic sofa which we saw online. Rustic Wood is a hidden gem!! They were recommended to us by another furniture store. What a surprise we had when we walked in and found exactly what we were looking for. Rustic Home has an amazing selection of quality and unique furniture. We found the perfect table and chairs the first time, but the tables color was alittle off. Ash worked with us to pick out a new stain and a week later we had a new table, bench and chairs. When we wanted a china hutch to match we asked Ash to make one for us. The first one was not quite right. Ash worked with us to make sure we got the hutch we wanted. While it took awhile to get the second one, when it was finished it was perfect. If you are looking for real exotic wood furniture that will last for generations visit rustic homes.

Had some odd shaped walls in the master bedroom. Needed two night stands to fit into the odd shaped area on both sides of the bed. Found Rustic Home on the internet. Went in with a rough sketch and some measurements. They were able to manufacture two night stands that fit perfectly into the areas. They also matched the stain color on our bed frame. The owner (who is very personable) even made cost saving suggestions before making the night stands. Very happy with the results and would highly recommend Rustic Home to anyone wanting quality custom furniture.

The furniture speaks for itself. It is beautiful, top quality, unique, amazing furniture. We now own several pieces. What truly makes the experience however is the staff. We explored the store without any stress or interruption but when we decided we needed help... it was way more than we could have hoped for. Accommodating would be an understatement. They only concern was our happiness. They were willing to do anything to make sure we left satisfied (from customizing pieces to providing replacement pieces while we wait for our custom pieces to be completed). Going to Rustic Home in San Marcos and working with Ashwani (Ash) Khanna is always a good experience. When my husband and i moved from Oregon, our new home had some unique challenges in finding the furniture that would fit the layout and our sense of artistic East Indian style.Ash has a very can do perspective; if what you need is not readily available in the store, he has the connections to either locate it overseas, or have it custom built overseas, re-work something he has on the floor to fit, or have it made on the premises in San Marcos.Our home contains many pieces of furniture from Rustic Home; the desk i am writing from now is from Rustic Home. Everything is beautifully handcrafted with care, and is very solid and sturdy. We were looking for a solid wood, distressed/country dining table and bench, counter height, that could sit at least 12 people. This is hard to find short of putting a dent in your 401k in order to have it custom-made. And to add to the requirement, we needed it before Thanksgiving that very same month.We walked into Rustic Home and they worked with us. I want to share my story and tell you how Ash and the magic makers at Rustic Home made my dream come to life!My home was on the market and in tip top shape to sell. It is an older home that had been renovated over the years to update and expand. Two hours after going on the market we received a full price, cash offer but when the buyers saw the kitchen they felt it was too small for their gourmet cooking lifestyle. So sad! We realized that we needed to do something to stage the kitchen and utilize the space in the adjacent nook area to expand the perceived kitchen area. I knew that todays modern gourmet kitchen includes an island and a place for friends & family to congregate over a glass of wine and delicious food.I imagined how I might be able to add an island that would incorporate these elements to my kitchen by combining the food prep island with a bistro height table. I searched the internet and found some lovely designs but they looked portable & very limited. I drove around to the commercial furniture store to no avail.Refusing to give up on the fantasy piece of furniture that would transform my kitchen, I found myself at RUSTIC HOME in San Marcos.As I stood by a lovely table made from some magical wood, Ash approached me with such a light that I felt compelled to tell him my story. As I spoke, I could see in his eyes that the creative process had already begun. Within a day, Ash had sketched a rough draft of my fantasy island complete with diamond slots for wine bottles; built-in wooden wine glass holders; two wooden shelves for storage of cutting boards & knives and two large cabinets with plenty more storage. The pub table side features room for at least 4 chairs. You really have to see it to believe it!The design process was fun & exciting!Ash listened to my idea, transformed it & enhanced it into a workable design and then with grace & determination, made it happen in time to get my home back on the market! I can’t even imagine my kitchen without this stunning Chop & Chat Gourmet Island. My only challenge now will be to decide who will gain custody of it when I sell the property!My husband says it is the nicest piece of furniture that we have ever owned!Update! We sold our home & they absolutely love the custom island that Ash & I designed together. It will stay in the home a be a legacy to Ashs thoughtful design! I stumbled upon this gem while on a search for a bookcase. I had been going store to store to replace the one the movers had broken. From the moment I walked in, I could tell it was a magical place, immediately captivated by the artistry of these pieces...I was sold with the history of the wood but more so by the service.
