I’ve been a customer of Ron’s auto shop for about half a decade and I’m genuinely grateful to both him and his staff. Every time we’ve been in a serious emergency, they’ve always taken us in. As well as for regular maintenance. They have been very understanding, flexible, and kind to us. They have always provided quality service too. They even thoroughly explain what’s going on with our cars so we’re always well informed with the issues that come up. I won’t take my cars anywhere else unless it’s something they cannot take care of, like getting new tires, which I’m fine with. We also enjoy hanging out with Sara and Dozer when we visit. They’re a very busy shop most of the time like many other shops and we do not live in a perfect world, so other people really need humble themselves and keep that in perspective. I’ve noticed a pattern with the negative people complaining are usually ignorant, making assumptions, don’t understand how the process of complex auto repairs works, are emotionally immature, have unreasonable expectations, etc. Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt, because I certainly wouldn’t be taking my cars here for as long as I have if I felt those reviews were truly honest. As far as I’m concerned, they’re my mechanical angels who have saved our lives literally countless times. I always recommend them for this reason :)

From my initial call and the promise to take me in same day, arrived and maybe one other car there I was in and out in like 20 min, maybe 30 max. Price was right and discounted $10 by mentioning the online coupon. People working there, very kind and the greeter, a sweet older dog, made my wait very easy and best of all the waiting area was clean, smelled nice (candle burning) and it was nice and cozy warm on a rainy day!! This is definitely my go to smog shop from now on. 10 stars!!!

I’ve been going to Rocklin smog and auto for about two years now with different requests of service, and they’ve never disappointed. Extremely professional, timely and overall just give you a great experience. I recommend them to all of my friends and family, it’s not a shop that tries to get over on you, they have fair prices and always have your vehicle running in tip top shape!

Smog test on 2010 Dodge 3500 diesel. This was the first time I used their services and I can highly recommend them for smog test. The office person (a woman) is knowledgeable and professional. I was able to schedule an appointment and I was out of their in 30 minutes (passed). Their price was very reasonable.

Had to get a same day Saturday Smog Certificate. They scheduled me for an hour later (and I had to drive an hour to get there because of my location). They got me right in, done and on my way. Im definitely a fan.

Sara was super nice and helpful, especially when we weren’t able to do my smog that day cause of some technical issue she was able to reschedule me and even gave me a discount for the inconvenience! I have an old 1992 Toyota so it was nice that they were able to do the smog for me. The smog technician was very quick and even gave me some recommendations on things my car needs to get done. Sara was helpful in getting my smog test done. She was able to accommodate me even without an appointment this time (but for sure Ill make one). Very quick service and didnt spend too much time waiting. The cost is good and comparable to other test sites but the $10 off coupon was great. I have been using this place for several years in getting my cars smog certification when needed.

Great service!I walked in just prior to 3:30 pm on Saturday and wanted a smog test. Sara had her 3:30 appointment arrive just after I did. I did not know that they closed at 4:00 pm and 3:30 was their last scheduled appointment. In spite of that, she worked me in.With her help, I completed in 20 minutes.Definitely will be a return customer!

Wish to give another shout out to this small business owner. I have been going to Rocklin smog and auto repair for a little over 20 years for anything major on my vehicles.They took our Dodge Durango two weeks ago when it leaked fuel and fixed it up for us. Unfortunately, last Friday we smelled fuel in our garage and it’s been with them again ever since.Got the clearance this afternoon that they can’t find anything they’ve put it thru a multitude of test, driven it, garaged it to sit… and nothing! AND no charge since we were there the week prior 😳They are going to garage it one more night to be sure and I pick it up tomorrow. A+They could’ve easily replaced the fuel line and we wouldn’t have blinked twice if they did. Love honest people ❤️😊

I had my Grand Jeep Cherokee repaired today by Rocklin Smog and repair on Pacific Street. This place is so great! Made an appt. a few days ago and they replaced my thermostat and I had oil change while having work done as well.The owner, Ron was great to work with and had my car done by the end of the day. I first learned about this place while getting a smog test done. Friendly, fair pricing and great people do an awesome job. Just wanted to give a shout out to this place. I highly recommend them. No more check engine light and Oil 100%.One day and have my Jeep back, I am very happy!Second 5 star review. Love this place. Posted this on Neighbor Next door as well!

I went to Rocklin Smog and Auto Repair to get my 1990 Corolla smogged. It was originally a California vehicle, so had all the C.A.R.B. required equipment on it, but it had not been smog tested in 15 years due to me having moved to Oregon. But now I was moving back to California and needed it smogged. It failed the first test, due to high levels of hydrocarbons. They told me the issue was that my intake tube had several cracks in it, which was letting unmetered air into the intake, which was throwing off the correct mix of air and fuel. I fixed that issue, and it passed on the second try, just barely. They further investigated and discovered an exhaust leak. I decided to take it as it was, and to deal with the exhaust leak myself at a later date. I found the people at Rocklin Smog and Auto Repair to be friendly, honest, reasonable with their rates and efficient with their time. Their office was clean and comfortable, and their 18-year-old dog, Dozer, was a real plus. I will be back when the time comes for my next smog check. Thanks Rocklin Smog and Auto Repair!

I have a 1998 Ford Ranger that would bog when idling down after revving the engine. Brought it in and they were able to resolve my issue and continually gave me updates on what was being done to it as it was being worked on. I’ve used them for a different car in the past and I’ll continue to come here for any of my vehicle needs. Awesome local shop! I have took many of my vehicles to them in the past so when I got a new used truck I had engine light go on and took it here. Most places would have went crazy when they hear warranty and find a bunch of problems. They were honest and also saved me a lot of money by having a flush before replaceing a sensor. It worked.

I absolutely love this place! My dad used to get most of his car work done here when he lived in California and he introduced this place to me. Ron is very fair and a great guy. His employees are good at their jobs and friendly. Everyone here is nice and polite. They get the work done quickly and they always get it done right. Whenever I have work that needs to be done I take my car here. I recently had my car go down and I couldnt figure out what was wrong. I got my car to Ron and they had the problem figured out and fixed within a few days. Now my car runs beautifully again. Im definitely a customer for life.

I can not say enough good things about this business. Cesar and Ron are amazing. I have been having A/C issues since I owned my vehicle (third owner.). And since I bought it in the winter I had no idea the AC didn’t work…. When I buy a car it will now be the first thing I check. You hear horror stories about how you drop a car off at a shop and issues pop up like ghosts. This is one of the most honest businesses I have ever worked with. I had great service here! I got in and out in a very reasonable amount of time. They were friendly and didnt mess around. I know nothing about cars but I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of like some places do when youre a woman. They brought my car right back to my same parking spot when they were done and even helped me back out as there were many cars around when I left and it was a tight squeeze. I would never recommend this repair shop and will make sure anyone and everyone I know and speak to will NEVER go to this shop and deal with what I have. The mechanic was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful to me in front of my children and the manager continually spoke to me like I was a child. I brought my vehicle back in the day after they “fixed” it and all I needed was a new alternator. They dented my hood, my driver’s side window was messed up, my radio wouldn’t turn on, and now my car is making a horrid sound. The manager told me “we didn’t touch it, it wasn’t us. My mechanic said he didn’t do it so I believe him.” My car DID NOT have any of these issues before these people at the shop touched my vehicle. After paying the hefty bill, I brought it back less than 24hrs asking them to please fix whatever they did, they refused. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL! Save your money and go to a trustworthy shop...I will never recommend this place to a single person out there.

I took my car in for smog check. They called me to indicate a problem with my car prior to doing the smog test. I was very pleased with the way they approached the issue in such a profession and timely manner. Not a very friendly place. I took my Dodge Viper in for smog check and they refused to smog it because they could not see the catalitic converters. If you’re looking for an honest and reliable mechanic, DO NOT trust Rocklin Smog and Auto repair. After giving them many chances to make right of there wrongs, I’m here posting to warn others of what happened. Do not let them screw you over as well. After originally going in to have my front break pads inspected and changed for about 60 dollars, I received a call saying I would need new rotors as well and that would bring the price to over 400 dollars. I told them to go ahead with the repairs and I had no problem paying them. When I picked up my car (after hours because I worked out of town full time) I found that damage a mechanic caused was still present. When checking my mileage the mechanic pulled my key out in front of me and the entire ignition switch came out with it. That had never happened before and I voiced that to him. A couple months after the repair was done my breaks were not working correctly and my car would shake violently when breaking sometimes. After consulting with other mechanics it came to be known that Rocklin Smog and Auto repair had only replaced my break pads and left me with ruined rotors, even though I WAS STILL CHARGED over 400 dollars for rotor replacement too. I have video footage of the tire being taken off revealing old rotors that were not replaced. My self and my father have tried to resolve this problem multiple times and the store owner has no interest in helping us or giving me a refund. I’ve even went as far as contacting the BBB and they Rocklin Smog had no interest in resolving the issue that way. They not only practically stole money from me, but also put myself and any passengers I had in my car in danger and that is not okay. We Tried to communicate multiple times even at the shop and the owner has instead yelled at my father and walked away from him and cursed at him. They took advantage of a young girl because they assumed it would never be found out. That is disgusting. I advise all of you to take your business elsewhere.

THIS PLACE IS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. They take my car in for a brake problem, charge me 1300 dollars and claimed they fixed it, just to find out they fixed nothing. So we take it back in for them to actually fix it, they have the car for a week before they even call back. We go to pick the car up for the second time and this time it doesnt even start. They tell us we have to jump start the car so we do and as we are driving home we notice ATLEAST 3 additional problems, AND THEY STILL NEVER EVEN FIXED THE BRAKES. They have good prices with coupons but other than that they are not very good. Office smells like body odor, most of their employees have a bad attitude and desperately need customer service training. They are not careful with your vehicle and have a high probability of scratching or denting your car. I was not impressed with how they drive my car into their garage ramp. My car is low and they were going too fast. They need to be more careful but their biggest problem is their workers unceasing bad attitude. They need to fire those guys and get some nice guys to work their. I HOPE THE OWNER READS THIS. Pay attention or you will lose business.

We had purchased a 1995 Chev Blazer w/ missing cat converter, we bought new one as it was for the car, and 3 smog shops would not even look at it. all they saw was new cat converter not matching up to the cars Family number Rocklin Smog was the only one who did smog it, (passed smog) but failed it for cat not matching up. We made an appt. to see the REF and 2 weeks later we went. With paperwork in hand and a new egr put in, we again went to Rocklin Smog. A gentleman who worked there stated that the family number, I said the ref approved it. I called the regional director of the BAR and handed the Smog tech the phone, during the conversation I heard the tech say no sir, I will protect my customer, the shop and me. I smiled to myself and thought Bless this guy, he truly has a pure heart. We left that night, car not smog. later that evening (after they were closed) Alex called (Alex, person who writes up work orders) and said, Leslie bring your car back tomorrow, will take care of it. We did, It passed. What more could anyone ask for! a Company that goes the extra mile to make sure that their steps and understandings are correct, and that the customer is protected. My car was having a starting issue. It was dead. I took it to Rocklin Smog on a recommendation from a relative. They fixed it but several days later it was dead again. I took it back a total of 4 times, even left it for a weekend. Every time I came back there was no effort to even apologize. After the 4th failed attempt I found Lehr Auto ElexElec in Natomas. They diagnosed it as a faulty reelay switch with the A/C. It has run perfectly ever since, no problems.

This place WILL try to take advantage of you. They are a very sketchy place. For example, they replaced some old,hoses on my truck because they were worn for me. They used vacuum hoses; however, those hoses arent meant to withstand high temperature gases that were going through them. My truck failed smog due to this. Heres the thing.
