I was really expecting a wonderful experience at road runner sports, however I had a horrible experience multiple times.When I first came in, we were told to wait for a bit, there was an interesting machine that analyzed my foot, and gave some suggestions. Cristobal who was my fit expert, just kind of stood around and watched as I tried on the two pairs of shoes without giving any feedback, he never asked how anything felt, it kind of felt like he didnt want to be there, and also seemed like he hardly knew anything about feet in general, the whole experience was quite awkward. We got the 90 day perfect fit package, because he said it would only be an extra $5 total with the discount, so bought the shoes and left.A week later my feet were hurting while running, so we decided to go back and try on different shoes. We came in about an hour and a half before closing, were told to wait, Cristobal again was our assigned foot expert, he didnt remember who we were, and just asked if we were looking for soft or neutral cushioning shoes. No one helped us for a whole hour of being there, finally we were randomly brought out three pairs of shoes to try (based off of some random brand names) ten minutes before the store closed, and then we were to come back if we didnt like any of those another day. Both times we were given hardly any feedback, or asked any questions. It was a really poor experience. There was just this really prominent feeling that the workers there wanted to get out, didnt care about your experience, didnt care about you as a customer, and didnt care about understanding what you were going through or about your situation.After that, we found out that we also were randomly added to a VIP subscription, that would auto-renew at the end of the year (by looking at the bottom of the receipt), Cristobal failed to mention this we initially signed up, and we decided to cancel immediately.

The fitting process is great but I wouldn’t be able to recommend this location because of the person who did my fitting - Susan.I understand people have to make sales but the way she did it felt sneaky? Like she asked me what color socks I prefer and after I answered, she just put a pack in my pile of things to buy without asking if I wanted them or telling me how much they were. I had to ask for the price and tell her they were out of my budget. Similar situation with the custom in-soles. I told her initially that I did not want to buy in-soles today (because I felt like she was gonna try to make me buy them) but she said I could just try them out. Later, she just left them in the shoes I wanted to buy and right before purchasing, she asked “So we’re going with the in-soles then?” I panic-said okay but when she told me the total was when I found out they were close to $100 and I had to ask “are these like $100?” and tell her they were out of my budget. THEN the membership. She didn’t tell me that it was a paid one and she was starting to sign me up for it without asking me if I wanted to. I ended up signing up because I was tired & just wanted to get out.The whole time I felt like I was being tricked and it was uncomfortable. I like the shoes I got but they might be a little big since I had to take out the custom in-soles AFTER i bought them. I want to cancel my membership but I also don’t want to go back there…

What a great place to get fitted for the perfect sports shoe! My husband and I had our first visit and were so impressed with Lexi our sales advisor. We had our feet analyzed as to what size we should wear, our I step and arch a, our stride, what support our feet needed to help us walk better and cause less damage to our bodies! She was so thorough and the provided several different styles that would offer us the best support. We ended up with custom fit insoles which we could easily place in our new shoes and even into our old shoes. We highly recommend road runner sports! And their 90 day warranty is great!

Great store great help and find the best shoe the workers here are really patientI was able to get my work shoes for work I needed last minute originally I was going to get a hookah but the DirecTV towards these Brooks go snacks and so far so good

I visited the Newport Beach/ Costa Mesa location I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly person, Ezekiel. He was quick to help and accommodating. Its a great place to find the type of running or athletic leisure shoe for yourself.

Hannah and Bruce were amazing helping our family with technical fitting then selecting the right running shoes and custom insoles (which you can see in my Brooks 23 in the photo). After trying a variety of brands/models we all ended up choosing Brooks (never considered this brand previously) for their comfort and fit - better than my Nike and Hokas (yes I tried them as well as ASICS). The level of service and patience was extraordinary (it was way past closing by the time we left!) as we literally spent over 2 hours there - their expertise and professionalism are top notch and We will be back!

Great store and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The only downside for me is that the store is very busy, I waited for 20 minutes and no one helped or even acknowledged me. When I went to the register to ask for help I learned that you must check in first and a salesperson will come to you, like the Apple Store. There should be a greeter at the door explaining that you need to sign in or at least a sign so you know to do so. Other than that, I had a great experience.

I had an extraordinary shopping and shoe fitting experience. The representative Bruce, was superbly professional and profoundly knowledgeable about the shoe inventory. Beyond that, Bruce was a patient expert in finalizing a great fit for both shoes I purchased. Bruce is a major asset to the Roadrunner Sports organization. I was extremely fortunate to have had a perfectly positive experience at Roadrunner because of Bruce’s patience, thoughtfulness and expertise.

Road Runner Sports helped me run my first marathon! I have been shopping at this location for the past year and I absolutely love the Korsa clothing and gear I buy here, not to mention the customer service is top notch every time I’m in the store. It’s always great to see Hardy, Zeke or Bryan when we are in the store and they give knowledgeable info on their products.I ran the Surf City Marathon this past February and got my uniform, shoes, and gu’s/electrolytes/salt pills from here to support me in the race. I tried on several different pairs of shoes until I found the right fit for my needs and purchased the custom insoles as well, all of this with the help of the team in the shop.The atmosphere in the store is welcoming. I have spent a couple of hours or more in this store just having fun trying on gear and learning products for running and recovery, and the employees are attentive to my needs helping me choose proper gear and narrowing down decisions. They have more products and gear for running than I find at other major retail stores. They give more diagnostic information than any other store I know of. You can check how your balance ratio is and what your pronation is like when you run, what type of cushioning and stability you need in a shoe, etc. all of this for free and sent to your email! I have several products for recovery, like a foam roller, massagers like the pressure point rocker and trigger point massager, so you can find lots of gear to assist and support you in your running goals.I’ve shopped at a few other locations but I love coming to this particular store because it’s always great to see familiar faces we trust!
