I have been bringing my car to Richards Auto for years. First my Subaru Outback and then my new replacement, a Forester. Barry and company do a great job maintaining my car. Reasonable and definitely reliable.Recently, I had some damage on the passenger side of my car and Barry took care of getting it repaired. Flawless work, my car looks brand new.My son brought his Honda to Richards Auto for maintenance. My brother just had his old Mercedes fixed so it would pass the smog check.I am grateful to have such a reliable auto shop.Totally recommend.....

I’ve ordered tires and wheels from Tire Rack and had them delivered to Richards Auto Repair. Both times were very positive experiences. They were professional and provided timely and courteous service. They also did quality work with my wheels and tires. I inquired about getting my brakes changed and when they looked at it they told me that I should wait to get them done. The reason I inquired is because my cars computer was inaccurate and had warned me to change the brakes. Richard’s was honest and did not try to tell me to change them our early to make money. I really appreciate that. When it comes time to get my brakes changed I will definitely return and get them done. He also quoted me a very good price for the brake job. If you need anything done from repairs to tires please give Richard’s a try. I highly recommend them.

Barry is breath of fresh air in an industry that long lost its integrity. He is honest, reliable, and thorough. The work he does is highly professional. The shop is a little on the expensive side, but you pay for what you get. I totally recommend Richards for anyone needing a car repair.Barry inspected the Ford I bought, replaced tires on it, breaks, and done multiple oil changes. Also my Subaru got tires, oil, alignment etc... done at his shop.A+

Richards auto repair is the best ! I’ve been their customer for more than 12 years n have never had any issues with their work. Barry is honest and reliable. They say what they will do n do what they said. The price is reasonable and fair which is a plus! I’ve used them from smog checks to engine problems n all sort of other repairs like oil leaks n water leaks from the roof. I do not use the dealers anymore, because most of them wanted to do more than what I needed. When you find the best guy to work on your baby car, I would stay with them. I m completely convinced that mechanics like Barry are One of the kind. It will be hard to find someone to replace him period!

I have been working with Barry and his team now for several years. I have used them exclusively to mount and balance tires for my “track toys”. For the last couple of years, that has been a Shelby GT350R, with carbon fiber wheels that cost $5,000 each to replace! Barry’s team has replaced the tires on this car 3 times now and the wheels are still absolutely perfect. They are totally professional, fun to work with and really diligent in their attention to detail.I recommend this facility without any reservations.

I had my brake pads inspected and replaced with Richards Auto Repair on 9/28/2020. Last week(on 3/24/2022) when I went to another shop for tire rotation and oil change, I was told that they couldnt do the tire rotation because of defective lug nuts(Later I found that the front passenger side lug studs were broken too). As Richards Auto Repair was the last shop to take my wheels off, so I went to them(on 3/31/2022) and asked if they can fix it for me. They denied breaking it and wouldnt fix it for free. Why do I think they broke the lug nuts and studs? I remembered when they finished replacing the brake pads, the technician walk me through the car and told me that they caused some small damage on the lug nuts cap and it should be fine. I was not very happy but I thought it was just cosmetic and I didnt say anything at that time. I also did some research online and it seems that The most common cause of a bad or failing wheel stud is due to improper installation by tire service technicians, over torquing of lug nuts, or lug nuts that are not tight enough. THEY WERE THE LAST SHOP TO TAKE OFF MY WHEELS and I never touched OR had anyone else touched the wheels.I couldnt prove that it is their fault for sure. But the experience is unpleasant and I decided to go to another shop for repairing. It was not cheap, it cost me $448.37 for replacing the lug nuts and studs.

Ive been a client of Barrys for awhile now. I recently purchased a 2001 BMW X5 and not having it checked out by Barry before I purchased...I could have save some $$$. Long story short...Barry was able to repair what was necessary to my Bimmer...and brought new life to it. It drives/rides beautifully and Im super happy! Please, if you are in the market for a car...bring it to Barry and let him inspect it. If you are in need of a reputable mechanic...bring to Barry. Many thanks to Barry and his team. FYI..I dont write reviews for a living...and am honest with this post.

I needed a brake and lamp inspection, was recommended by a friend who owns G8 Smog and test in San Bruno, met with tech Barry H. He accommodated me on the spot gave me a discount on the service and completed the inspection while I waited all this on a Saturday with no appointment! Very happy with my first experience using Richards auto repair.

I own a 2012 Fiat 500 Pop that I have been trying to smog for the past three weeks. For the first time I brought my car to Richards Auto Repair because the price they charge for the smog is reasonable. Unfortunately due to an OBD (On Board Diagnostic) error message my car continued to fail the smog. After you pay for the initial smog check and if your car fails, Richards will give a customer an additional free check. Initially Barry recommended I drive the car. From on-line searches and from what I read on Fiat chat boards that is the only way to remedy the OBD error message. For the past two weeks I tried putting additional miles on the car and for the past two weekends took my car to Richards Auto Repair where Barry would hook up his meter to my car at no additional cost. I even took my car to the dealer due to a gear shift cable recall and asked if they could possibly reset the OBD so I could pass the smog. They told me they could not and that the only way to remedy the problem was to drive my car through five cycles. They offered to drive my car for for $400. I took my car back to Richards where he offered to diagnose the problem for less. The great news is that through Barrys expertise and DILIGENCE he was able to fix the problem. With his help my car passed the smog test so I am good to go. Barry is now my go to mechanic. Women, there are mechanics that will take advantage of you. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can trust Barry. I highly recommend him and Richards Auto Repair.

For many years now I have used Richards Auto to do my smog checks on my familys vehicles. I have also had him do quite a few repairs on our common and not so common fleet. They are well equipped to handle just about anything you can drive or tow their way.
