One gets a great wine tasting experience under scenic surroundings at the Retzlaff Vineyards at Livermore. We relished their different varieties as part of the Wine Tasting. We also bought some Isabelle’s Blush, Chardonnay, Cabernet and Sauvignon Wines. The staff are very helpful, friendly and great. Weekends have large visitors and reservations may be necessary. One can also enjoy lunch cuisines that time.

Friend had a birthday here! It was a great place with live music but the weather was a bit cold! Had great wine and food from the vendor on the property was awesome! Very nice grassy area and the scenic views were nice🤩👌 Definitely a good spot compared to your larger vineyards in the area.

Splendid venue for a celebratory picnic and to drink a variety of wines. The catered sandwich lunch was hearty and the jazz band excellent.It does get exceptionally hot in Livermore in the summer (it was over 100 degrees the day we went). They supply lots of water and umbrellas for shade, but I recommend you wear a hat and bring sunscreen.

Nice setting but felt a bit like a production line. You stand in a long line to get your glasses, then you stand in another long line to get your wine, then you sit down for your prescribed amount of time, then you get out in time for the next seating. I think they have set times at 12pm and 2:30pm, and everybody arrives together.We had reserved a table for a picnic and bought a bottle of Chardonnay (which was tasty but a 2023 vintage, and for $42 I would have expected a bit more time in bottle for it to gain a bit of weight). They didnt have time to tell me anything about it as the line behind me was going out of the door. We tasted it, but I wanted to taste a few other wines as well just to try them (they have a tasting for $30), however they said I would have had to reserve this, so it wasnt possible.I think Ill stick to Napa & Sonoma from now on. You get more personal service, its a lot quieter, and the price is much, much cheaper if you know the right places to visit.

Great local winery. Visited on July 4th for a picnic event. Live jazz music in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Reservations were required for this event but easy to set up and check in. We have visited several times when they have live music. Delicious wine and perfect summer setting.

Attended the futures wine preview today. Bold selections. Terrific offerings. Knowledgeable, entertaining (family) staff. Live music. Did I mention the weather? When the high is seventy it doesnt matter if you are in shade. An experience to cherish with friends. Cheers!

Great place to hang out with nice wine! Large spacious outdoor place with lots of picnic tables.They had a pop-up food place when I visited with great food including tamales, sliders, etc! They didnt have openings for picnic tables online but when I called, they said we could come in and check if they would have picnic tables available. So definitely call and check if you cant find a reservation online.

Beautiful vineyards, beautiful winery and tasting area. Some seating under a roof, some with umbrellas, so everything is shaded. Outdoor plumbed bathroom.Wines are lovely, more reds than whites. All tastes are different, but I generally found them to be smooth and flavorful.

This was my familys place to go. I have been a customer since 2018 and have gone to this winery a lot. Unfortunately, my wife was treated poorly by some of the staff. She was getting some water and was told not to get too much. Mind you that we had spent over $300 on that day. There are plenty of nice wineries in Livermore and unfortunately this is no longer one of them. Avoid this place unless you like to be treated poorly.

Sweet little vineyard, clean nice unpretentious grounds with plently of room for visitors to spread out and enjoy picnics while sampling delicious wine. Family, children and dog friendly too. Music today by Jackson Rohm was great. Well be back!

Retzlaff is quite a small winery compared to many others in the area. The office / store is, shall we say, an intimate affair! We visited on a warm, sunny day, and we were able to sit outside on the front lawn. Very pleasant!To me, the wine should be at least as important as the location, and Retzlaff had a couple of wines in their tasting that hit the spot. Id say that one of them (with one of the reds in the Rios Lovell tasting) are better than all the others Ive ever had in all the Livermore wineries.

At $350.00 for our party this was a major disappointment. We were placed at a ugly cob web picnic table that was weather beaten and splintery between two shade trees that provided no shade. The wine was terrible, we were suppose to get some Chardonnay but they only had four cases left, I was told to by a bottle untasted, judging from their other wines I declined. The music was good and the service was good, we were served a little box of cheese, fruit, crackers which was good. Will I ever go back, No. There were several people there, they seemed to enjoy the wine, service, music and food, so each to their own taste, but this was not for me.

Wine is tasty but they are too pretentious. I would have probably ordered more wine but we decided to go elsewhere due to the attitude. The website says they are family friendly, however when we visited with my sleeping 3 month old in a stroller, we didn’t feel welcome. Initially we were told we weren’t welcome in the tasting area (despite website stating otherwise) and that the other tables require a two bottle minimum. Once we admitted to the tasting area after talking to them again, they poured without asking if we wanted the red or white flight. Food is also not permitted at the tasting area. I understand some wineries don’t want children, but don’t say they’re welcome and then act curt. There are much better wineries in the area.

Nice winery with good wines. Weekends are lively as they have live music. Catering booths are present with good food. Tasteful catering is awesome. Just wish the winery banned foods to be brought in when catering is present,puts a damper on their business.

I was charged about $15 for a picnic table reservation on a weekend, which I assumed meant I could bring my own food given that I was charged money for a picnic table. However, got there and was told I needed to put the food away and only buy food from their onsite vendor. Being charged multiple times to eat at a picnic table made the experience felt a bit nickel and dime-y.

We used Retzlaff to host our rehearsal for our wedding. We enjoyed working with the staff to create our special day and watch everything come to fruition. Their contracts and policies were very straight forward. The venue/space fit our vision of a relaxed outside vibe to a T.

I love, love,love this place!! They treat all these guests with respect and courtesy everyday of the year unlike most of the other wineries in the area who do this only if you buy a special pass or if you spend a boat load of money. With Retzlaff, they treat you right if you buy one bottle, a case, or nothing at all. I cannot emphasize how much the people working there are great. Now the wine themselves, are just as wonderful as the people. Honestly, I cant recall a wine that I didnt enjoy tasting. The price you pay for the wine is such a great deal. This is a beautiful place to spend a joyful afternoon.

Had a pretty awful experience here.Not only do they charge (non-refundable fees) for reservations, but they also have a 2 bottle minimum and don’t allow food when their caterers are there. On cold, rainy/windy days, they do not have heaters for outdoor seating. We will never return to this winery. The service and accommodations were awful.

Beautiful grounds. perfect for a family picnic, very kid friendly. They had a live band, these lil mini scooter things kids could ride around on, just awesome for families.My 6 year old was well entertained for hours. A nice amount of families there with their kids which was great.Wine? Mediocre, Tasteless, no complexity. I had a tasting of the variety of reds they presented they are tasted the same exact way. I couldnt even drink it to be honest, but instead shared a bottle of something else that another family brought in. I would go back but sadly not to drink wine but instead, bring picnic basket, lay out on the grass, buy a glass to be gracious but not somewhere I would seek out.

The winery is cute and small, mostly lots of outdoor space. The wine itself is nothing special. Everyone in our party was not impressed. I have been here twice so I have no intentions to revisit. There are many other wineries in the area so I would say to skip this one.

Called in for a walk-in tasting and was told we were ok to come right in.. got to the hostess, Danielle, and was then turned back. Wasted 30mins getting here. Horrible customer service and a nasty attitude by Danielle.Noticed other minorities getting turned away while other walk-ins were being serviced. Extremely fishy, discriminating treatment by the hostess... take your hard earned money some place else in Livermore.Its 2022 Retzclaff... get with it. Diversity and social media...

This was a great stop on our bike ride tour of wineries and I really loved our host(a french gentleman I sadly cannot remember the name of). The outdoor seating is very pleasant and shady which is a great relief from the blazing heat of summer.

Headed over for a morning beekeeping workshop from Gerardz Honeybees which included a few tastings. The grounds were beautiful, a nice relaxing place to spend a morning. As we were wrapping up a few different groups arrived for picnics and we will be back to try it out. Between the tastings included in the class and the two we purchased separately we tried five and all were nice. The 2006 Blend (65% cab, 35% merlot) was superb.

Incredible 2016 Sauvignon Blanc! If you like Reds to the point of only keeping a White on hand for guests, buy a few of these! Beautiful balance, rich flavors, fine for Appetizers AND will follow through to, say, a mild Chicken entre. Also fine for sipping.
