The hotel was super clean and the staff were very friendly. My toddler LOVED the enclosed courtyard that had a giant chess board, ping-pong table, mini put, and corn hole. They also had a pool, 2 fire pits, grill, outdoor bathrooms and tons of comfortable seating. Its close to the beach and the zoo. 10/10 would recommend, and we will stay there again in the future.

This hotel has everything you need! Very clean! Super friendly staff! Very convenient to the airport. However, not loads of stuff really close by. Excellent breakfast choices! I would highly recommend staying here as you are going to/from the airport as it is one of the nicest hotels near an airport I have ever been at!

This hotel is amazing! The location is quiet despite being by the airport. The details and decor are so stunning, it feels like such a high end experience. All the staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. The manager Francine was SO helpful in getting us the proper accommodation we requested and she is a gem here!

I left an expensive cashmere sweater behind in the room on mistake and they never “found” it. I also checked in at around 2am and waited at the desk for about 15 minutes because there was no one there. I kept calling the hotel, which kept ringing right in front of me. Afterwards, this man who had been eating to the right of us at a table gets up and helps us. I understand he needed to eat but he definitely should have let us know he’d attend to us instead of pretending that he was not on the clock. I also called to ask for toothpaste in the morning to which a man said he’d send it over…well 30 minutes had passed and there was no toothpaste. I went down to get it myself and the man at the desk was apologetic and did not charge for the snacks I purchased the night before. Still, I’d suggest staying elsewhere; there are better places at better prices.

So, I always read the lowest reviews of a business because they are often an honest insight of what to expect.This is one exception where I have to ask, did these reviewers stay at the same hotel I did?I arrived in Goleta toward the end of November for my job. I was only supposed to be there for a week. My hotel reservation was kind of last minute, but I was able to get a nice room without any problem. At the last minute, my job assignment turned into two weeks, then three; all at the last minute. I had no problem extending my reservation.I travel A LOT for work. More than half my life is spent in hotel rooms. Hands down, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff was chill and greeted me by name every day when I left for work and returned. They were beyond helpful every time I had to extend my reservation. And the room was really nice. I don’t really care what my view from the room is, I am only using it to sleep. The airport didn’t bother me either. I live next to a Navy base, so I am used to hearing jets take off and land all hours of the day.And for breakfast, they use real eggs! Not the powdered garbage like many other hotels offer.This is a bitchen hotel. I will be working in the area again next year and look forward to staying there again.

I stay here twice a year for a week each time. My partner is a titanium member. We noticed there weren’t a lot of people this week but we didn’t get automatically upgraded. I hope this was because they were booked, not because the person was just being lazy. Their rooms are always on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Their rooms are updated and clean mostly. There was a maid who came into my room without my knowledge since I was in the bathroom and my baby was sleeping. When I walked out, we both got startled. She apologized lol but luckily my baby didn’t wake up. It also took her forever to get to our room because we were the last room in the hallway. The lobby is really nice and they have a cool courtyard with fire pits and a mini golf course. I’ve been in their pool and hot tub in the summer; it’s really nice. Although last summer, I saw birds pooping in there so I got turned off and didn’t go in lol. Anyways, we will always come back, and I definitely recommend this place!

Near the airport but not much noise. The room and facility are nicely maintained. The courtyard has a fireplace, a mini golf, a pingpong table and a pool. Breakfast is great as well. Its a little far away from Santa Barbara downtown (15min drive). Overall we enjoyed it and would stay here again.

Enjoyed this place because it is in a peaceful area, no parking hassles. Love having a kitchen to make breakfast and snacks. Had a couch to watch TV. Pool is nice and warm, exercise room in excellent condition. Easy to get onto the 101 and also close to Goleta amenities.They have breakfast included but we preferred making our own.Very comfy!

Was a little disappointed with this property. Although the staff was nice, they seem untrained and didn’t communicate between each other.Using a suite night upgrade I got a really big 2 bedroom suite which was nice until it was clear the climate system was broken and didn’t cool the room down. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk they assured me someone would come look at it. Around 6pm I realized no one had looked at it, checking with the desk again…the girl had not even passed on the message and maintenance was gone. We ended up being moved to just a standard room, which was fine until we slid open the patio door. We were greeted with TONS of bird poop, their attention to detail and cleanliness was overlooked in both rooms.They charge $15/night to park and their lot is enormous, what a rip off…should be complimentary.I’d look elsewhere when I’m in Santa Barbara next.

So beautiful! The courtyard was so fun! We got to play cornhole from our cute little patio. Breakfast was great! Only complaint was the mattress on the pull-out bed was so thin and you could feel the springs without even laying down on it. Definitely not usable even for a child!! The full moon was gorgeous 🤩

Great experience staying here overnight during the floods around the SB area this week!!! Very nice and clean King size Studio, that has a great kitchen, a large glass enclosed shower, comfortable bed and pillows.They also have an on-site laundry room which was an added plus, along with a small area near the lobby desk where you can grab a small selection of snacks if you want to munch on something at any time of day or night. The price also includes a nice breakfast bar in the morning, which has a lot of various options to eat, which I really appreciated.Overall, this was a very great experience staying here, especially in comparison to a different well-known hotel chain that I had stayed in the night before.

Breakfast was very bad. I have stayed in cheaper or as-expensive hotels and have had a better breakfast. They had the same frozen microwaved biscuit on three food dispensers. You would expect better from a hotel that seems luxurious.The air conditioner sounded like a truck. It was very loud. My mom could not sleep on the first night. Because she only slept about an hour on the first night, she managed to sleep better on the second one...Had to pay $10 on parking per night but on similar San Fran and LA hotels parking was free...I stayed in 4 hotels during my California vacation. All except this one had every-day room cleaning and towel change. This one had a towel change every three days.Room was ok. Building is clean and architecturally pleasing.Staff is friendly.I will not stay here when I come to Santa Barbara again!

This was probably the best in-room kitchenette suite Ive ever stayed in. Very, very clean. No rust anywhere. Nice big desk space, very well maintained kitchen with a breakfast bar. Loved the swivel tv that can turn from the living area to the bed.The courtyard is very cute and kid-friendly. Not only is there a pool, but a large chess set, a tiny mini-golf area, pin pong table and a fire pit. Theres also complimentary breakfast. The bed was comfy and the bathroom spacious and clean. I only stayed a night but it was very cozy and quiet. You will have to drive to get to all the sights around Santa Barbara but youll get there within 20 minutes or less. Totally recommend!

This is a hotel that you would like to avoid. All the rooms are not equal and the view could be catastrophic at the point that you prefer to keep the curtains closed. The noise of the AC prevents you to keep it ON at night. The airport located across the street remind you that an aircraft is very loud. Most importantly the service is not oriented to the customer even if you are like me a titanium elite member. I will never book again and will never recommend it, even if convenience is at the top of the list. That hotel is not welcoming, and it will give you a headache with bad memories.

The customer service at this Marriott location is the worst. The front desk staff almost seemed bothered when we asked them for any assistance. When we asked to use the shuttle to get to the airport the lady at the front desk informed us it would be 15 minutes. We waited 20 minutes in the lobby them asked again if we could have an update on the shuttle and the front desk gave us a card for the shuttle and said that we need to call the number ourselves and ask for status. When. We called the driver said he would arrive for another 10 minutes. (We then decided to call an uber). We almost missed out flight because of the miscommunication of your staff. The property is beautiful and the only kind staff was the people serving breakfast. Everyone else felt so dismissive.The room was spacious and clean.

I seldom stay at a Residence Inn or a property in an industrial area, but I gotta say this place worked out great for us.Staff was both very friendly but also savvy/efficient. Got a bottle of wine as my market item welcome amenity.Breakfast spread was impressive compared to most “free continental” offerings.Hotel is 3-4 yo and in very good repair. Rooms are very clean and quiet.Given the pandemic, we loved being able to play games and eat in our rooms (was visiting with my retired parents).If you plan to spend your time in Santa Barbara proper, keep in mind that it’s a solid 15-20 min drive from the property.Was too cold to use pool or outdoor areas, but they seemed nice.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. My wife had a small dental issue and the front desk staff went above and beyond in helping her find a local dentist. Also, being preferred Marriott members we got an upgrade. Breakfast was good and in the evening there was a mixer with some free food, beer and wine! The one tiny ding was that there was no EV charger for my car, but thats a first world problem :)

The hotel is okay, nothing too special but the staff was not nice or helpful.I booked two rooms, and it took them 5 hours before they could confirm if the second room was clean up or not.We kept checking and they kept saying they will bring the second key to our first room but they never bothered to call us or bring it up. Eventually we had enough and went once again to check on it and they finally checked us in.No apology no nothing, definitely was not treated like a paying customer.This hotel is too pricey to be giving this kind of service.

I had the most amazing time at this location. The staff is amazing! The grounds are amazing. There are BBQ pits outside if your wanting to throw something on the grill. The staff makes sure the pits are on and hot. 4 1/2 foot pool and jacuzzi. There’s also 5 hole punting Green. While relaxing how about a game of chess? The is large so you can walk the board. Friendly or highly competitive game of ping-pong. Enjoy the out door patios and fire pits. This is a highly recommended location if you like going to Santa Barbara and neighboring cities. Enjoy the gym for a full workout! The indoor fireplace was lit the entire time we were there and the seating near the fireplace was very comfortable! Parking is plentiful.

Traveling with a dog, this was an excellent choice for us. No, its not on the beach, but the room was spacious and we were able to work, using desk and free Wi-Fi. Close to Santa Barbara Airport and UCSB; Santa Barbara is about 12 minutes drive. Breakfast included was delicious with decent variety. Very friendly staff. Clean workout room and pool. Overall, good value and well return.

I was surprised at the issues with this Marriott. In my experience they are usually very good. That was not the case with this location. They charged over $300 a night and their elevator was broken. I have arthritis in my knees and I had to go up and down stairs with my luggage. I went down to breakfast at 8:30. It closes at 9:00. When I arrived, they were out of eggs. They only had a biscuit with sausage, which I dont eat. I ended up eating a muffin that I bought from a grocery store. They told me to come in the back entrance because it was the closest to my room. Everytime that I entered the building there was someone who didnt have a key, but grabbed the door as soon as I went through. I didnt feel safe. I havent lost faith in Marriott, but I wont be back to this location. The one bright spot was the great service from the lady at the desk.

Stayed at this residence inn using our Bonvoy Marriott points. Traveled to Santa Barbara for a charity event luncheon for the Dream Foundation Flower Empower.Hotel was clean, great parking and friendly staff. Needed housekeeping to bring additional towels and bath items. Brought to our room promptly after calling the front desk.Room had nice kitchen and dining area. Liked have a walk in shower and larfer workspace area. Enjoyed their free breakfast, cooked well and delicious. I was late 1 morning to pick up my entrees, (630 am to 9:00 am) and staff was kind enough to provide me access to quickly pick up a breakfast sandwich, fruit and a yogurt. Saved my hunger pauns and morning meal.Only downside was the $10 pkg fee per day. As a Gold Elite member, unable to have it waived. Seemed odd it was requested for this hotel facility in SB, but I suppose times are changing as they say. Everything else was wonderful about our stay. Waiting for my 500 Marriott points to be added to my account that were offered for our reservation at this hotel. Recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in Santa Barbara.

The best quality of this place was the interior of the rooms, how each room comes with dishes, silverware, etc. Also, ring style video and audio answering system is very advanced and safe. Try finding a cheaper place in town with more energy if you are here for vacation purposes. Perfect for business trips.

Fantastic hotel! Friendly staff, clean room, comfortable EVERYTHING! First floor room had taller ceilings than other floors. The hotels stock photos are true to the actual room. The kitchen is great with GE profile appliances and logical and easy layout. The grounds were well kept and the pool was heated (its winter). Oh! The front of the hotel even had a garden area to walk around that had little plaques that identified each plant and tree! The gym was nice and clean with newer machines. Monday thru Wednesday mixers in the evening were awesome with good food and drinks. Wednesday mixers had featured local chef. Breakfast was great and they offered small to-go containers for us to use when we were in a hurry. One of the best Residence Inns Ive stayed in...coming from a person who is on the road 90% of the time and prefers Residence Inn to other hotels.

We opted to stay here instead of Downtown Santa Barbara. We loved it! The courtyard view was nice overlooking the pool, jacuzzi and fire pit seating areas. The common space in the hotel was delightful and the food was excellent when we did not venture out. It is on the flight line for the local airport; however, most of the planes are small private jets. It did not bother us at all. Ample parking!

One-liner: Poor Service Negates the Positives of this HotelLocation: Near Santa Barbara Airport. Good for those arriving through that airport and need a place close-by with accessibility to the airportParking: Self-parking around the facility. Daily parking fee, even though there was plenty of parking. I did not notice any security that is paid to help watch over the cars too.View: Not much. Surrounded on three sides with factories. My particularly view was of a trash bin for a commercial building. One side facing the main road with a view of some trees that help hide the airport facilities. The rooms facing the courtyard is probably the best view.Overall Room: Layout is not as good as other Residence Inns that have the bedroom and living room divided by a door. It is much smaller than most Residence Inns. I did appreciate the small details such as providing a small salt and pepper shaker for cooking. One time I visited a Residence Inn near San Diego and they did not provide salt and pepper.Kitchen: Refrigerator with freezer. Stove that was electric. Enough plates and utensils and bowls for 3-4 people. Strainer and mixing bowl provided with cap.Bathroom: big and easily accessible. Clean.Bed: I reserved a room with a king size bed. It was on the firm side but comfortableAmenities: Gym, small pool with Jacuzzi, oversized lawn chess board, very mini mini-golf, ping-pong table, two outdoor gas grills.Service: The biggest failure of the whole stay. I was informed there would be a water issue during my stay about 1-2 days prior to my trip. This was for my wedding anniversary and I wanted it to be nice but to find a hotel last minute right before the trip was not possible so I decided to keep my reservation. I thought it would not be so bad but I later found it that there would be no water from 10pm-6am. That meant toilet use was limited to at most 1-2 flushes overnight. I thought I could survive but I realized quickly that I could not wash my hands when I used the bathroom overnight. They did provide complimentary 2 regular size water bottle for the inconvenience, but that does not easily solve the sanitary issue. I brought up the issue with the hotel staff and at most they were dismissive about my concern. That is what caused me to give a 2 star rating, when it could have been a 4-5 star rating. I did not expect 1-2 star, motel level, service from such an overall nice facility.

We took the middle kid to college and stayed there overnight. Amenities were very good, including outside entertainment for the younger kids. We had a wonderful experience after a very stressful time. Our daughter, a student at UCSB, needed to stay at this property for 8 days after being in the hospital. Susan was extremely helpful and caring and made sure that our daughter was able to stay for the entire time even though it was a very busy time in the area. We truly felt like someone was looking out for her. The room and ground were very clean and well kept. We will definitely stay here whenever we are in the area to visit our daughter.

The hotel is located right next to the airport. Its about 15 20 minute drive to downtown area which isnt too bad. The amenities here are really nice with some outdoor mini golf and a pool and jacuzzi which close at 11pm. The breakfast was included and you can make your own fresh waffles. I dont often leave reviews but I was very impressed with the service here. They were having a busy night and our room wasnt quite ready, but the employee at the front desk, Jesus, was very helpful and held on to our luggage til we could check in, so that solved that problem. He was obviously swamped with phone calls and different guests needing attention, but he was very polite and friendly with everyone. I really appreciated his service. The pool and grounds are also very nice, and the breakfast is good.

Fantastic spot to stay! Easy ride to Santa Barbara proper, and a quick 15 walk to the Goleta beach from the hotel! About a mile or so from the UCSB campus and hangouts, so if you are a parent or prospective student, this would be a great place to stay. Fun amenities include a mini put-put area, spacious cabanas, pool, and hot tub. Breakfast is good too! Soccer field right adjacent to the building, and grocery store is less than a five minute walk! Nice trails a quarter mile away too!

They need to take cleaning service up a couple of notches. A glass shelf in the bathroom was barely hanging on the wall, the sleeper sofa mattress was stained and should have been replaced...skanky. There was mold and soap residue around shower doors. Very disappointing for the price point.

I want to commend the staff! They were very helpful. We called late at night because our neighborhood was under mandatory evacuation orders due to a brush fire. This review is during Covid 19. I am an platinum elite member. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Do not like the breakfast box they offer in the mornings. A pre packaged bagel not even fresh, fruit and a water. What is nutritious about this? Have had better options at other hotels across USA. The checkin was not so good, the person that checked me in was rude. Yes I tried to check in early. Did not like that I also had to make reservations to use the pool, so I did not use. Had to have maintenance replace my shower head, it was spraying more water behind the shower head on the wall than on me. California rules at this time are extremely terrible.

Very uncrowded now due to the pandemic. Pool is nice and warm - by appointment only and closed after 6 pm due to pandemic. Same with hot tub. Theres bbqs, firepits, putting green, ping pong outside. We have a nice studio apartment here while our house is being repaired - it has everything except an oven. Modern and clean. Service is good. Carry out complimentary breakfast is prepared in advance, so just ok. Pets allowed. Gym is closed. Laundry room is available. Close to airport - windows very soundproof when closed.

WOW this hotel is beautiful. I stay at Residence Inns and Marriot hotels quite often and I was very impressed with this one. I believe it is 10 months old now. In any case, I wish I were staying there for more than a few nights, and even found myself calculating how much it would cost to live there! Very friendly staff and ample parking with close access to rooms is a plus. Great hotel for business or pleasure.

The lady downstairs gave our 2 beds hotel room away so these soccer boys who already had 3 hotel rooms. 1st of all, i made a reservation for a hotel room with 2 beds, got there and it was a handicap with a view of the trash can in the back of the hotel! which wasnt what i paid for. They charged my car 3 times! The lady said she could give us an upgrade of two king beds! When i went in there it was ONE queen bed and so we asked for the other bedroom that we had before and she had given it away to someone else! knowing that there are THREE people who need more than just one bed and told us to get an upgrade that is ONE queen bed! Terrible way to treat your members!

Brand new hotel. The room was very modern and had lots of plugs in all the right places and usb ports too. Bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower was huge! The full kitchen is always nice. Breakfast was great and the courtyard with the pool, oversized chess set, putting green, and barbeque area was really awesome. The Marriot Residence Inn on Hollister Avenue, in Goleta looks like it would be a nice place to stay, as it is close to the Santa Barbara Airport. The interior is nice, and has a few arty installations, but for the most part, it looks like any other nice place to rest, after a flight. The back court yard, is nice too. In fact, this part of the Inn was my favorite. It had a life sized Chessboard, mini-golfing, some toss-across type boards/beanbags. The pool is good sized, and has a Jacuzzi. For people who may be wheel-chair bound, there is a mechanism that will lower one in/out of the water! My absolute favorite things in the back, are the glass filled fireplaces..if youve never experienced these, they are beautiful when lit.

Stayed 4 nights, would not choose this hotel again because I could never get a good night of sleep. Enjoy the sound of a plane taking off at 5am and the AC/fan that runs in the room cant be controlled from the wall panel (the Off setting didnt do anything). I had to find the breaker switch to get some silence. There was additional fan or whirring noise outside of Room 219 that was intermittent and bothersome. // Otherwise, everything else as expected. Bed comfortable, typical suite style room with a small kitchen and couch. First and foremost, I was surprised beyond expectations of a Residence Inn providing an all around fantastic experience. The rooms were large, clean, modern, and quiet. The outdoor activities were fun (e.g., minature golf, ping pong, outdoor chess, etc.), and the happy hour offered free wine/beer and food. Although the food was mediocre and actually gave me diarrhea due to undercooked chicken, the following day they had street tacos from a third-party vendor that was awesome. I want to share how much impact one employee can have in daily operations. My son was having some health issues a couple weeks ago while attending UCSB. We live in Oregon and had a day of travel to make our way South. I called the Residence Inn and Susan at the front desk made the extra effort to take care of him and put our minds at ease during a very stressful time. She understood how scared we were and stepped in to get our son in a safe place until we arrived.
