Stayed at this hotel as our stop from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Room is a bit dated but clean, I have no problem with it. The room is huge, with sofa, complete kitchen amenities, and dining table. Fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher, pans included.Plenty of parking outside with a cost of 12$Free buffet breakfast in the morning with very good selection. They got waffle machine which my kid love to try.They also have washing machine at Level 2 so it’s a very good addition for us!

Im so upset. I live here locally and the reason I occasionally stay here is because of their Jacuzzi and Pool. I wasnt able to use it this time and If the cashier person should have advised me that both the pool and the Jacuzzi are out of service. I think it should get some money back. 220.00 for one night with no oil hardly any channels for TV its just like renting a room at Continental Motel. Lol

I usually don’t write reviews, but this hotel did not meet the Marriott standard. There was sauce of some kind splashed on the curtains. Crusty towel left in the bathroom. Coffee stains on sheets. Phone was broken. We reported issue but not fixed. Tried to find another hotel, but everything near Monterey was booked. Clerk offered $50 at check out but we declined. Would not stay here again.

Awfully expensive for the room we received. I would have paid 10 times less for this kind of room. Dirty bathtub! As a “bonus” a laundry room next to our room, where the washer and dryer were on up until 12pm and again at 7am and made an awful noise, that made the impression there is a earthquake. Always dreamt of waking up on a Sunday at 7 am because of a loud noise! Thankfully our 3 year old was too tired and fell asleep between the “earthquakes”. Never ever staying there again!

I had a 2 week stay at this Residence Inn for the first time. I am a rewards member (Gold Elite) with Marriott and I have stayed at other Residence Inns’ in the past and was upgraded to a suite. When I inquired twice about upgrading my room to a suite I was told I cannot do that and it wasn’t allowed because my reservation was by a third party (the company I work for). Makes no sense! As a rewards member I should be able to have an upgraded room! The room they put me in was very small. It did have a kitchenette which was nice. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because the customer service was great. All the staff were very kind. They cleaned the rooms every other day which was nice and they had a breakfast buffet every morning. They share a fitness center with the Courtyard hotel next door.

The manager of this location is a liar. She told me one thing, and then when I opened a case she said she never said that and I am now stuck with paying for the hotel instead of using points. Her apology was, Im sorry you thought I said that which is completely unacceptable.I would not trust this location strictly due to the manager. Im extremely disappointed in Marriott overall, and will be using the remainder of my points and cancelling my Chase Bonbon credit card, cancelling my rewards account and finding a new hotel chain to give my loyal business to.To the manager, I hope nothing like this ever happens to you. This is deeply concerning that you can lie like this and think it is ok. I worked hard for what I have, and this unnecessary bill puts financial pressure on me and my family. You should reflect and understand the impact of your actions - not to Marriott (theyll be fine) but to the hard working people that stay at your location.All of this is within a case number Im willing to share and discuss.

Melody the GM and her team are fantastic and accommodating to making your hotel a comfortable experience.The rooms are very clean and smell great.I enjoyed the BBQ Grill and the gas fire pit outside.There is a cool duck pond right next door.The hotel is in an excellent location if you need a Walmart or some great dining.

The worst Marriott stay I ever had. Thinking it’s the Marriott property I thought it would be good. But unfortunately I am shocked to see this type of low standard property. This property is super old and the TV is dead slow. It does not respond to the remote. If you press for long time then it starts working. Even if it works the TV itself is very very old and very slow. Even though they said it’s a king bed it’s not the king bed. It’s very tiny and the bed’s headrest is rock solid wood. No cushion whatsoever. So if you want to read something while laying on your back you will hit the rock solid wood frame. It’s definitely not the kind of Marriott property I stayed all these years. The breakfast they served is not good as well. Most of the stuff feels like 2-3 days old and they are just heated and served. I wish I could give ZERO rating to this property. It’s definitely definitely not the Marriott standard. I will not recommend this property to anyone.

Not quite sure why the negative reviews at all. Stayed here for a couple weeks. The staff was awesome and welcoming. Even allowed a really early check in. With that I figured things would be missed but no, room was clean! Only got to use the kitchen once but room had a dishwasher which helped. But the bed and pillows were comfy. Room was pretty big. One of the biggest I stayed at. The shower DID get HOT! A lot of people were talking about no hot water but it got really hot. Could have used a new shower head but I NEVER set unreal expectations like most. At check out the staff were really nice and made check out very easy. Pool was under construction but that’s unfortunately the theme these days. The ONLY reason not a 5 star is yes bugs do get in the hotel and sometimes the room but they are located next to water and wetlands and it is Salinas. But I do recommend!

Acoustics can really go a long ways here... And being on the first floor... Not such a good idea... Room was big and spacious with a kitchen as known with these hotels, easy to cook on and using the vent fan with the microwave wasnt too bad! Service was very friendly and helpful in recommending where to go and even driving times to get there! Its a shame noise was a big problem here, known walking sounds and jumping were prevalent with the people 1 floor above us and i could even hear a conversation through the vents (no among us imposter here :p) not to mention the large road noise coming from 101 nearby even with windows closed (which was easy to open or close) but i would come here next time, but a different room.

Would not recommend staying here Hannah front desk agent changed my Marriott number to Hera resulting in giving her my points for my extended stay. Informed Melody Urquidez about the issue she did nothing about it. Also being charged for parking while the GM’s mother is parked in the parking lot for free in her van is ridiculous, not only is is a joke but security sits next to her van all night and does not conduct any safety walks. Not the place to stay. Will contact Marriott

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There was some sort of strong fragrance that was used in common areas, which is definitely problematic for people sensitive (or allergic) to scents. The outdoor trashes were full for the entirety of the visit, and the dog poo stations were empty of bags as well. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The room was clean and nicely appointed. Overall we are happy with our stay here, and would stay again.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The breakfast is fine. However, during our stay, the whole third floor smelled so heavily of marijuana smoke it was unbelievable. We complained to the management. Later, they slid a form letter under our door and all other doors on the third floor reminding us that it is a nonsmoking hotel. We talked to the front desk and were told that although they knew who was smoking the weed all day, they put the reminder notice under all doors because they did not want to make the offenders feel singled out or uncomfortable. That was yesterday. Today, we just returned to our room and once again the smell is strong and present. In their quest to be nice and not offend, all the other guests have to put up with this. This is not acceptable and not family friendly.

Staff was friendly and helpful, for the most part, except for one really bad incident. Checked in one afternoon, put some things in my freezer, then went to work. Guy at the front desk must have made a mistake, because while I was out, they checked me out of my room, took my things out of the freezer and put them downstairs in the breakfast area fridge (where they thawed out). I came in that night at midnight locked out of the room I had checked into, and had no room. When I asked the guy at the desk what happened the next day, all he said was, “Yeah, there was a big snafu.” 25+ years of staying in hotels, I have never experienced anything like this. Only person who apologized (or even approached me about it at all) was the sweet young lady on the pm shift that night who had to find me a room. Thank you, Hanna! :)It’s an aging property, and there were issues, breakfast table had really wobbly legs, outlets with no power, stained bathtubs, no pots for the coffee makers. The phone in my room looked pretty beat up, and it didn’t even work. In certain rooms of the building, you have to run the hot water faucet in the tub for about 15 minutes (in drought-stricken California) if you want to take a warm shower. I will say, though, that they did correct the issues that they were able to correct.Rooms could have been cleaner. Top of the fridge didn’t look like it gets cleaned very well, and the windows in my room were too dirty to see out of.For a Residence Inn, it was a disappointing experience.

She just had such a positive vibe that made us feel very welcomedThe gentleman in charge of maintaining the breakfast buffet was very hard working and made sure he addressed any needs.Room was subpar. The hotel is ill maintained. While the front desk staff is nice, the rest of the hotel (hardware, cleaning) is really depressing. I found a spider in the closet 2 hours after checking in ! At night I started hearing loud noise coming from the floor above, most likely due to its reaidence moving around and taking shower..I also found some stain on the bed sheet. This is just gross.

I would like to begin by saying the two people at the front desk were very pleasant to deal with, unfortunately our experience was horrible.We had booked a room directly through the Marriott app for a trip beginning October 6th 2021. When we arrived we were told they were completely sold out and couldnt figure out how we had a reservation. This should have been our sign to leave. However, we questioned how this is possible and they came up with the solution that we somehow booked a room that was not supposed to be available. They said someone took the cables from both television sets in the room. In hindsight this was another clue that we should get out of there. Unfortunately, being tired after driving all day up the coast and 11 oclock at night, we asked what are we supposed to do? They said they would call the manager and see what could be done. After they spoke with the manger they said they could give us a discount and send maintenance to the room the following day. We said fine since we just wanted to shower and get to sleep.Once we entered the room we noticed it was not very clean. We found a used soap bar in the bottom of the tub. Hair on the floors, counters, and sink area. Dust on top the fridge and most the flat surfaces. Something that looked to be hair dye or soda splattered all over the bathroom door and walls. The shower was filthy. The drawers were disgusting. And when we attempted to open the sofa bed we found crumbs under the cushions and on top of the folded pull-out bed, meaning the sheets were obviously not changed. If this is their special covid cleanliness procedures I cannot imagine how awful their normal cleaning is.Needless to say we left and will never be returning. Because of the cleanliness and upkeep of this hotel, we were left with finding a room in the middle of the night and ended up having to drive another 30 minutes to a decent hotel. Horrible and absolutely disgusting.Im sure the hotel will reply with their standard response that they apologize for the inconvenience and look into the issue. However, they have probably continued to rent out this room.

A great place to stay if youre planning an extended getaway. Staff is super friendly and the rooms are nice. Great bed, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the pool was closed. Outdated residence Inn. The place isnt as clean as other Residence Inns Ive been to. The staff are pleasant and welcoming, but the hotel isnt as well kept as other ones. Stay was fine until the day of the checkout... They were doing fire alarm testing in the hotel and didnt inform our floor. The manager said they slipped a note with our bill under our door but that was not the case. He even said there were supposed to be staff on each floor telling people. Again not the case. Lastly, we requested a late checkout by calling the front desk. Housekeeping apparently didnt talk to the front desk because they came by 2 times to my room to ask about my checkout. Clear lack of communication between the staff.

After a long drive and getting into Salinas rather late, my family and I were looking forward to some much needed rest. I had requested a crib for my baby when booking the room and was told by the front desk that it should already be in the room for us but to let them know if it wasnt.There was no crib in the room, and the one that they brought us would not stay locked together when unfolded and smelled like vomit. We were told that the hotel had no other cribs available, and that we would have to wait for them to go buy one from the store. As it was already well past my sons bedtime, we had to make due with what we had in the room.Right outside our room window was a basketball court, with people playing on well into the night. Combine that with an uncomfortable mattress and pillows, plus an apparent stampede going on in the floor above us, sleeping here was a bit difficult.The front desk staff were not very good at multitasking and could have had better communication skills. Overall, it was much too much money for what we experienced.On the positive side, the breakfast in the morning had a decent selection and at least the AC worked in the room. Regardless, I think next time well opt to stay at the Courtyard next door.

We just had a massive storm that hit our town last week and unfortunately that storm has left my home without a roof, its flooded, without power and completely unlivable. Fortunately, our homeowners insurance company has provided a fully loaded suite here at the residence inn for myself and my two teenage kids for the next month and a half. Ive been here for five days and I could not be happier! I have worked in the hospitality industry for over eighteen years now and I really cant find anything that theyre doing wrong? The service is excellent, the place is immaculate and whats even more awesome is that they are dog friendly. I dont know what wed do if we had to leave our baby girl behind? I know Id definitely be heart broken. We spent two days without her leaving her behind at the house and it really affected her. Now she couldnt be happier nor could she feel any more safe. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is expiring a hardship and also those who happen to be traveling on through who are looking for a place thats worth the money where theyll have no worries. For whatever reason it may be that life has brought you here, its a good thing. Relax. Enjoy your stay. I know I will.!

Sorry too say there were some issues with this hotel. Although the room was remodeled, the plumbing was not. The tub was badly stained and looked very dirty even though Im sure it was cleaned. The bigger problem was the very moldy smell of the water from the tap. It was so bad i was uncomfortable thinking about showering in it, and I dont think it is safe to drink. I believe the cause is very old pipes, boilers abd/or filters.Having stayed at a residence inn in San Bernardino the night before, I was also a little disappointed with the smaller size of this room even though it was essentially identical. Instead of a king bed it had a queen bed. The bathroom was significantly smaller maybe 1/3 the size of the one in the first residence in.If a night at this hotel wasnt more expensive than some Ritz-Carltons Ive stayed in I wouldnt have as much to complain about, but at these prices I expect a lot better.

The bathrooms in this hotel are gross. Nothing drains and rusty. Housekeeping doesnt bother a great job either. They put our pillows on the lamps and didnt replenish tolietries. Breakfast However has been decent and the pool is nice as well as the staff.

Sheets had hair on them, and even our face towels had some left over beard hair from a recent trim. We asked for two different sets of extra towels and both were also stained. Kind of gross.

So I wanted to give this hotel, the benefit of the doubt and ignore the lower reviews. I also really wanted a hotel with indoor pool which they had or it said they did. So I booked.I checked in and they give some song and dance about the indoor pool being closed.The hotel is run down and old. I honestly don’t know why anyone would pay almost $200 a night to stay here.

Great place only 30 minutes from Monterey. The breakfast is OK. The service was nice. Hot tub was a bit more shallow than Id like (6 ft tall). Guest bed futon was bad....but at least its the size of a bed. Coffee machine was on the fritz and leaked coffee everywhere. One HUGE bad thing to make note of: be sure to check if your room DOES NOT have an outside street light because they are basically 2 feet away from the window and no amount of blinds can truly make it dark in your room. Overall though, for a VERY reasonable price, its worth it. Lots of parking. Friendly location. Would go again for a CHEAP get away for Monterey.

Great breakfast. There was Scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, waffles, pancakes, yogurt, fruit yogurt parfaits and cereals. Along with juice and coffee. Great service. The rooms are clean and kept very nice. Each has a small kitchen complete with all utensils, cups, pots and pans and plates. Coffee makers are the rooms and a full size fridge. The couches turn in to pull outs and the room was spacious, we stayed in the one bedroom. The hotel was quiet and staff was friendly.

As far as we could tell, the cleanliness of the room itself wasnt bad, but the hallways (of the entire building) had large crumbs, cereal pieces, ponytails, etc that made you wonder how often they vacuum. The bathroom faucet leaked pretty bad and we had to jiggle it for a while to get it to stop/drip slowly. We never received roomcleaning service as well. We used a Marriott credit card free night certificate to stay here. The actual room price is quite expensive but the room is very clean and nice with a seating area, a small dining table, a work desk, a kitchen area, and a spacious bathroom. The complimentary breakfast is quite extensive with several cereals, oatmeal, muffins, toast, bagels, fruits, and juices. Let them know at least 24 hours prior to your arrival so they can accommodate your special dietary requests such as being vegetarian. On Monday and Tuesday evenings they have a light dinner and on Wednesday evenings they have a small reception. The service was great & they accommodated our late checkout.

Excellent place to stay personal here very nice and fraindly, remember your name at first glance with out even knowing your room number. They keep the place clean and in good working order. Kitchen was fully stocked with all cooking and eating utensils when we walked in and checked the cabinets. Large grassy areas to walk your dog. Good complimentary breakfasts everyday three to four nights complimentary dinners, plenty of parking also with security walking around. I have stayed at many Extended Stay hotels and this Residence Inn by far surpasses I would definitely recommend.

Management was very rude. They charged me and my sister’s debit cards twice, and said they both were declined when nothing was wrong with our accounts. We both had to call our banks, and have the representatives confirm that the charges were made on the accounts. Now we both have to file disputes with our banks, for these excess charges. After these conversations the manager did not apologize, for the inconvenience that he has caused us. If you choose to stay here make sure to check your bank account statements, they should only charge the deposit hold fee once. Be aware of all the fees they charge you!! Pay very strong Attention!!!!!

For long term tenants, they will only service the room once a week. You are required to schedule a time to have that done. They won’t arrive at the time scheduled and management will make excuses why they don’t. There doesn’t seem to be a reason to schedule room service, but they won’t do it at all if you don’t schedule it. Very poor service from both housekeeping and management.

I stayed here from Jun 12 - Nov 4 and overall, it was a great experience! Ayden is very nice and helpful. I really missed Denise because she took great pride in her job and it showed. Very nice easy to work with staff..a great location by the interstate as well as a strip mall with Walmart and Star bucksWalking distance. Close to Fishermans wharf. The hot tub has 5 settings and the best jets at any facility I have ever been to. There is a silver button that is almost invisible you have to push to start it..but they have nice couches in the pool area and an outside grilling area off from the pool as well. Very nice establishmentRooms are a bit dated..but has nice homey feel.IBreakfast is the best buffet style, the ladies truly work hard putting it together. Several hot and cold items to choose from.Over all great experience. Nice and quiet too.

Used this Residence Inn to explore the Monterey area for 5 nights. The location is about 30 mins from Monterey and the coast so priced better. The property is OK and appeared clean. Rooms and the kitchen contents in need of some work (e,g, broken light fitting, not much in the way of silverware or kitchen utensils, and crockery mismatched). Service was fine (no housekeeping unless requested) - we requested extra hand towels and soap due to the 5 nt stay. The room we had didnt have an oven but the hotel has a BBQ grill which we used. We noticed that at least the 2BR rooms did have a full oven so if this is important to you I would request specifically. We assumed our room would have one after calling to check... Breakfast was poor during the Covid pandemic (a paper bag with dry oatmeal to cook in your room? This would be a good choice for Monterey f the reduced cost is worth the 25-30 min drive each way.

Always my primary choice whenever I need a hotel to stay at. I love the fact that you have a full sized kitchen in your room and this is one amenity that I just love. The rooms are spacious and always clean and I have plates and dishes that I can use along with silverware that I can use after making my dinner. After this, I can clean all of my dishes and silverware and just drop them in the dishwasher and Im all good to go!! You will not be disappointed if you stay at a Residence Inn!!

The dirtiest Marriott hotel Ive stayed. The bathroom smelled like urine even after I called the room service to clean it after check in. Theres a thick layer of dust on top of fridge and bathroom shelf. The dishwasher had a thick layer of white soap scum build up. The bathroom cabnit door was half hanging. The dining table was so wobbly I thought it would break when I put food on it. I ended up checking out one night early to stay elsewhere.

Fyi pool and fitness center are closed for renovations (Oct 19) but the front desk staff informed me that they would reimburse day passes for the gym across the street and they also helped me map out a running path in the area which was extremely helpful.

Fire in our neighbors condo resulted in smoke damage to our home. Having to be out of the building during cleanup we were placed in a room at the Residence Inn to accommodate my husband and I along with our dogs.The staff is absolutely wonderful here always asking how we are and how things are going. By the second day they switched our room to a downstairs suite because they could not guarantee that the elevator would not break down again. While it is a Marriott, its far removed from the level of service Id expect. We suffered through several days off near intolerable levels of marijuana smoke on the third floor of this family hotel. When we asked the front desk to address it, their solution was to slide a note under everyones door, even when they said they knew who was generating (against hotel policy) smoke on their room. This went on for two days without resolution. In addition, the main bed was uncomfortable. We determined one cause might be the sheet of plywood under the mattress. While I love the outdoors, I must say that the roosters crowing every morning at the adjacent complex might not be as well-received by others. I stay exclusively at Marriott for the consistent comfort and quality of sleep. This establishment does not meet this needs our expectations. Stay elsewhere.

The front of our room and hallway had food all over so far (Im still at the hotel, 3rd day). So you can imagine no cleaning in a common areas for a hotel for 3 days 😭😭😭My wife asked the front desk to have our room cleaned the 2nd day, guess what, when we came back in the evening, the room was not done and the excuse we were given I apologise, I told your wife to tell me when she is leaving so I can send someone. We were out all day from 10am and he saw us leave).Btw, we pay full price every night, that part doesnt change but when it comes to saving money in cleaning, the hotel is doing a great job. BEWARE! Not a 4 Star Experience!! I had an unfortunate experience staying in this Marriott. I am a frequent Marriott patron. Typically staying 1-4 nights per month. This stay was one of the worst Ive experienced. I have a list of the problems I experienced. Ill start off saying that the hotel is being remodeled. This was not a problem but the way its being handled may be. First it seemed that the construction workers were staying at the hotel not a big deal unless they contributed to the problems. The hallways smelled like smoke (Not normal for a Marriott!!) As the time got later the smoke changed to pot smoke smell. Just noting this.About my room, heres the list... First off the bed sheet looked like it had been dragged on the floor with black spotting in various places on the flat sheet. When I aked for a replacement there was no one who could change the bed and I was told that the sheets were in the wash and would need to be put in the dryer before they could bring one to me. It was late and I had to wait for them to bring it, (around 11pm) After getting my sheet I was headed to the shower. There was a OLD wash cloth from a previous guest still hanging over the bar in the shower. AFTER my shower I noticed strange, large spotting on my towel. I felt nauseous. I also have pictures of a floor that was not swept well. Then when I went to dry my hair there was not a hair dryer to be found. So I went to bed with wet hair and woke with damp hair which made me late that next morning.I made my way to the main desk asking for a refund for the room that was anything but my usual experience at a Marriott and I was told that I would get some points on my Bonvoy membership. I was somewhat ok with this until I got the points in my account which amounted to about a 14% refund.. Very disappointed. I will be contacting the manager today and hoping for a better outcome!I have have come to know Marriott as my home away from home. I ALWAYS stay at Marriott but since all their company changes Im beginning to wonder if things are going to go down hill. I sure hope not! I love me a good Marriott. Large or small..
