Horrible communication. I called a few days ago because we cut a significant amount of palm tree leaves in our yard, the person on the phone kept stating to take the items to the landfill instead of scheduling a bulk pick up. She also states we are able to schedule free bulk pick ups but it would be easier to take the leaves to the landfill ourselves. The leaves are too large for the green trash bin. We take the leaves to the landfill, wait 1 hour before being told the items cannot be taken.What a waste of time, someone should at least give us the correct information. The “supervisor” states employees have had proper training, I disagree completely. We ended up having to take the items to Fallbrook and were charged for disposal.

The hours listed on Google can be confusing. It keeps saying the business is verifying that theyre closed on the weekends. I think this means the customer service is closed but the dump is open 7 days a week and only closed for four holidays

I went twice in the last couple weeks, both times on weekdays. There are 3 parking spaces for drop-offs - the first day I had to wait for a space, the other day there was 0 wait time (I would possibly avoid coming on the weekend because my guess is with only the 3 spaces it probably can get busy sometimes). Guys working there were very nice and friendly, I was there for e-waste disposal. I unloaded my car myself and took it all to their dump area using their flat rolling cart but they were willing to help me if needed, they can help you if you have something bulky and have any difficulties. Happy this service is available and free to Carlsbad residents.

I had a coupon from Eco to drop off one load for free before 10/31. I had loaded my van with my husband but when we tried to go last week the line was huge. I decided to go this morning tho I was on my own. Got in the short line at 7:45 and it went pretty fast. Everyone was helpful and friendly. When it was my turn a man working there helped me unload everything. Which I needed, definitely stuff I couldnt do myself! I really appreciated it. Cannot thank him enough. I was out of there by 8:10. Thank you!

This morning the Republic driver somehow managed to dump our recycled materials into his truck along with our full-size blue recycle cart. In further incompetence, the replacement cart wont be delivered for over a week. Republic Services doesnt come close to meeting the quality and standards we expect (and pay for!) in Carlsbad.FOLLOW-UP:Good news! Republic notified me a new cart would be delivered today! Yay!And sad to say, I actually believed them. . .NO CART WAS DELIVERED.Dishonest and inept, this company doesn’t belong in Carlsbad.THE ENDAfter one more phone call, Im happy to say my cart was delivered. . . but why was it all so difficult???

Customer service at the actual transfer station in Carlsbad is good. I would say the only downsides are increasing prices. And the fact that the website states it opens at 7am, but you cannot dump into at least 7:30am.

As other reviewers mentioned, since beginning service in Carlsbad, Republic Services has been absolutely terrible. Originally, they brought the incorrect size waste container. I opened a ticket with them to replace it with a different size. They did promptly bring that size as promised, but failed to collect the incorrect one. I immediately called and they scheduled a day during which they would collect it. That day passed, so I called back and they scheduled another day, which also passed. Every time I called to inform them it wasnt collected as promised they told me the ticket was closed as completed, prompting them to open a new ticket. This has been ongoing since June (its now mid-August). So far, they have promised to pick up the extra waste container 7 different days. So 7 times, Ive dragged my container out; dragged it back in (which is frustrating, because I dont really have the room for it); and called customer service to sit on hold for 30 minutes to schedule another time for pick-up for which they didnt appear. I would be fired from my job if I worked with this level of incompetence.

Our neighbors and I have had our recycling bins out in our front yard for 3 weeks and we are still waiting for recycling to pick up. We’ve called 6 times and yesterday, they missed us again. We’ve contacted the City of Carlsbad who were no help. I’m thinking of packing up my recycling and talking it to the City office for them to dispose of. We obviously have no room left to recycle. Will also have to submit a refund from the city, since they’re charging us for trash pick up. So much for the city and their concern for the environment, when I can’t even get my recycling picked up. Republic Services needs to be fired!

Be aware that trailers must be tilting trailers, but you can manually unload your truck bed. Very convenient and the line move relatively quickly.
