What a fantastic spot! Rooms were so cute, clean, and up to date. We absolutely loved our stay. The location was so convenient to a bunch of great restaurants - and just a short drive from Northstar. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The two-bedroom suite was perfect for two couples. Spacious, while being cozy and comfy. Definitely will be back!

Great rooms with beach access Mark very nice experience with close walking distance to grocery stores and restaurants. Rooms were clean and the pool had an amazing view. There was also a private dock where you can go kayaking.

Rooms are clean, spacious and stocked well for the traveler. Things like soap, hair dryer and shampoo at the ready. Staff is excellent and friendly. My personal Roku works. Fireplace is so inviting on the cold days. Kitchen utensils, pot and pans very adequate. Air fryer available on demand as well as crock pot. Safeway grocery store almost across the street. Skiing at Northstar 15-20 minutes away when the roads are clear. Excellent experience!

We had the most amazing stay at Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. We booked last minute for a Sunday night and were able to check in early to drop off our things and get out skiing right away. The private beachfront, dock, and pool area were stunning and made our whole trip that much better. The amenities in the room including giant tub and full kitchen were so perfect, and we had everything we needed to cook in our suite comfortably. It felt like a luxury location with a cozy lodge feel. The resort fee is applied to daily activities offered on site and well worth it!

I booked directly through the website as well as seeing the listing on airbnb. You should absolutely be up front about the parking situation and not wait until people have booked and paid to tell them there is only 1 parking space and no local places to park and you do no offer pay to park extra spaces. We booked a 2 bedroom suite for 6 people. There is no way to travel in 1 vehicle with the exception of a massive SUV that wouldnt fit in the given space anyway. We wouldve booked 2 smaller units had we known. This practice feels dishonest and we will not return here unless there was nothing else available or you guys made things clear beforehand.I will say, checking in was incredibly quick and easy, and the size of the unit was great for us. We loved the jet tub when it functioned properly. The jets did periodically go off for no reason for about an hour at midnight, but the bath itself was really cool.

I stayed at Red Wolf Lodge in 2022 with friends (Presidents Day weekend) and had a pleasant stay. Thats the reason why I booked a stay again in 2024. It would have been a great experience, except for the manager, Erin, who treated my mother-in-law (MIL) poorly upon check-in. Erin was full of attitude when my MIL asked about extra parking. She told my MIL that she should be happy with what shes got. When asked for a solution, Erin just responded that towing is enforced within a 10-mile radius and that if my MIL wasnt satisfied, she should turn around and go back home. I dont think we will return to stay with Red Wolf Lodge so long as Erin is there. That is not the professionalism I expect from a hospitality manager. It seemed like she didnt want to be there or like her job.

We paid $350 a night on 12/30 as peak season, but it was worth it. The accommodation is located next to North Lake Tahoe, offering a beautiful view in the back. The staff were friendly and allowed us to check in early. The unit was very warm when outside was 30F. We opted to cook at night and sourced steak, fish, lobster, and clams from Safeway, which is only a minutes drive away. There were 2 TVs with Direct TV. The best part is that the unit is equipped with full sets of cookware, utensils, cups, and plates. Additionally, there is a dishwasher available for cleaning them after use. Office has K-cup coffee and travel guides info.

The website and book process was so deceptive and I could never reach anyone by phone to talk to in order to clarify reservations and details of stay and location. We were dubbed, we will not be dupped again and will report the deceptive practices. We believed we booked in a ski in ski out location just like the website and location showed. You however deceitfully use the same logo, name, website to book Red Wolfe Inn (Lakeside) putting us in a small, distant, low amentities motel. We shall never stay with you again and intend to let others know of your lack of transparency and lack of accessiblity to follow up on important questions when uncertain or confused by your website.

A hidden gem on Lake Tahoe.This place has it all views, pool, hot tub, kayaks, fire pit, outdoor BBQ and dining areas, cute cottage suites. Yet the best feature of all is lake front beach access, priceless.A place like this books months or years in advance but If you can find a few days mid-week in the shoulder season there may be openings.

We are in unit #5. First night was no sleep due to the tenants up above our unit. A major construction fail. Who builds a kitchen and living above a bedroom 🤔. Thank goodness they checked out the next day. Last night 9/1/23 a new family checked in. So we packed up at 8pm and came home 2 days early. Other then that it was the good time we are used to having while on vacation.

The staff were so attentive to our needs, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I have always loved the quaint size of the lodge, which affords us more privacy. Our favorite spot is the lake access, which is very inviting and accessible. My kids enjoyed being greeted with cookies when we checked in - snacks are always appreciated! In addition to the beautiful room and comfortable accommodations, I think my favorite thing was the text messaging. We received reminders about cleaning services and communication via text was so easy and efficient. I cant wait to return!

Just spent a wonderful week at the Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge and we are already looking forward to our next trip back. Our extremely clean (1) bedroom accommodation was wonderful with fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace, extra warm bedding for chilly nights and Jacuzzi tub. The weeks daily activities were published and invitations/reminders were sent from the front desk. What a great place! I was visiting Lake Tahoe, and it was supposed to be just a day trip but decided to get a room last minute.I wandered into the lobby and from minute one the ladies behind the counter were so welcoming! They made me feel like we were old friends!Since I was just staying one night the room had a lot more than I needed, (like a full kitchen), but was reasonably priced for what it was.The Murphy bed in the room was a nice idea...Our room was spotlessly cleaned and very welcoming.There is only one thing that wasnt perfect in my view, its also the reason that this isnt my first 5 star review on this site.There wasnt air conditioning in the room, (or we werent smart enough to figure out how to use it, if it was there).As long as you are going to be visiting Lake Tahoe during a cooler time where a/c isnt as important, you would be crazy not to check this place out first!

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, the wardrobe in the living room next to the couch had 2 extra pillows, a blanket and beach towels. The water pressure in the shower was good, not great but got the job done, the water temperature did fluctuate sometimes while I was showering in the morning, had no issues at night. I really wish the bedroom had blackout curtains. We did not get to experience renting out the kayaks, swimming in the pool or either of the 2 hot tubs. I also loved that the room came with 2 fans as it does not have any AC, the windows were somewhat difficult to open & close.

My daughter, granddaughter and I had an amazing stay at Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. We stayed in one of the two bedroom suites on the second floor with a balcony facing the lake. Immediately upon entering the suite and seeing how beautiful the rooms were and the amazing view of Lake Tahoe from the living room/dinning room, we walked back to the front office to extend our stay from 1 night to 2 nights. We took advantage of the kitchen and cooked both breakfast and dinner two days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We also enjoyed using the fireplace each night as we were not used to the cold nights. The women at the front desk was very helpful in extending our stay upon our request and also helped to give us suggestions of paved walks that we could take the baby in a stroller. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for an amazing place to stay in Tahoe Vista!

Wonderful resort! The kitchen and bathroom were renovated for a contemporary look making the space feel clean and inviting. So many Tahoe lodging options have the exact opposite with outdated furnishing and decor which often gives an unclean appearance.The staff was very attentive to our after-hours check-in/out so the process went smoothly. Communication was also done via text messaging which received very fast responses during business hours.A great place to stay if looking for a place in Lake Tahoes north shore!

I would like to rate this 4.5 because was a comfortable and convenient place to stay. It was only 13 minutes to Northstar and we never had traffic. Kitchen was outfitted well and met all our needs. We loved parking our car right by our porch. So nice not to have elevators and a journey every time you want to go somewhere. They have complimentary snow shoes. You may want to consider going to the Donner Party Memorial Museum in Truckee for a free highly informative and interesting 1 hour tour, check with museum for dates and time. We loved the hot tub after skiing with views of the lake and mountains. After all that, we enjoyed dinner in our room and watching a free movie from their library which had a good selection. They aim to please and we have good memories of the Red Wolf Lodge.

Our family had a great January weekend stay here in order to ski Northstar. Its under 10 miles to/from Northstar, and reverse traffic as most traffic to Northstar is coming on 267 from the opposite direction (Truckee). Check-in/out was super easy with great communication, especially via text. The 2-bedroom unit was spacious with everything in great condition including the beds, pillows, bathroom fixtures, kitchen items and appliances. Room was serviced by housekeeping during our stay which was great and becoming less common. I hope to come and stay again.

Owner for 26 years. We were there for our 42 wedding anniversary. Staff was notified at time of registration and left a nice card on the table. Personally, I would have left a bottle of wine or champagne but thats just me. At any rate we were assigned unit #2. We had never been in # 2, in fact we have always been in one of three units. #5,7 or 25. I had requested 25 when I made the reservation but was told at the desk 2 was all they had. We were there at exactly 4pm to check in. So we end up in a room where the road noise was so loud and constant we didnt sleep well the entire week. This affected our entire experience and by day 5 we were just exhausted and spent the night at a friends place so we could get some sleep. Red Wolf has been part of our entire familys life for many many years now heading into 3 generations. I think some respect for senior members and special occasion should be standard.

What a crazy amount of snowfall/blizzard and yet staff stayed on top of clearing the snow with blowers, shovels, mini dozer, and a HUGE dozer. Staff truely worked non-stop. Erin at the front office provided great advice regarding the snow and kept us well informed. And she makes a fluffy pancake! Katie at check-in was friendly and helpful with my late arrival information. It has been a great stay with great staff.

We had such wonderful vacation at Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge. Location is great, across from Safeway, close to shops and restaurants in Kings Beach, this place also has all you need - pool, jacuzzi and private beach with free kayaking and even ping pong table! It’s surrounded by tall trees with a stunning lake and mountains view. With 5 mins drive, you can also visit Tree Top Adventure which we loved it! Pool water was a bit too cool for me but kids didn’t mind at all and they all had a blast. We would love to come back to this place next year - actually every summer!

The resort rooms are generally lovely, but less than half of the rooms have a view of the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Two doors to the east is Edgelake Resort. While their rooms arent quite as fancy, there is much more view and access to the lake. So it is our preference. As long as we register at exactly the correct day/time, we get a unit that looks at the lake and all is well.

This place is a good spot if you are looking for roomy units with a fully-equipped kitchen area to cook breakfast or a good dinner after a day of skiing/hiking. The unit we stayed in was absolutely spotless and obviously well maintained. I was actually shocked at how spotless it was. Not a single trace of dust even on top of the fridge, ceiling fan or media center.The decoration is actually okay; we werent too sure when looking at pictures online. You have to like wolves and a rustic feel. Oh, and they make these really strange little animals with towels. It is kind of funny in a weird kind of way.Staff is very nice and welcoming. My husband and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon. We had a one bedroom lodge with a small kitchen and we had a very comfortable stay. The staff was amazing and had great recommendations for activities and restaurants in the area. They also had planned activities at the lodge every day, which was fun (we painted magnets). They have two hot tubs in site and one has a beautiful view of the lake. They also have a small beach area at the lake with a dock. We would definitely stay here again!

I stayed a night in one of the condos here with my younger brother and we loved the place. The rate was comparable to that of hotel rooms in the area, but here we had a whole condo to ourselves. The interior was lovely, the place seemed to be preheated for when we arrived (it was January), the attention to detail was impressive (our towels were all folded into fun shapes like elephants), and the check-in/check-out process was so easy we never even had to stop by the front desk.

Very disappointing on the chaotic reservation system. We booked through booking and requested to reschedule our reservation 6 days ago due to COVID. No response from the third party. So we tried multiple customer service lines, got conflicting responses and now they refuse to reschedule or cancel.Please be very careful on choosing this lodge. Have stayed here twice now and generally have a good experience. The rooms are small but really all you need if you are just staying with one other person. Full kitchen with a fridge and stove, and simple, straight to the point bathroom. A warning, however: on our second stay, we got placed in the lower unit with an occupied unit above us. It was a quite miserable experience. It sounded as if weights were being dragged across the floor until 11 pm. Woke up in the morning to the sound of stomping and crying babies above us. We should have received a discount for getting a room like that, especially when the hotel knew it was occupied. At the very least, they could have given us a heads up or the option to pay for a different room. Really disappointed because I loved this place so much and we come to tahoe 4-5x a year. Will probably look for a new place to stay on Kings Beach next time we come up.

The main negative is the old carpet and it is not updated. And the chekin time is a very short window after which you have to pay extra money. My room was downgraded from a 1 bedroom to a studio. The reservation agent was pleasant and offered solutions. However I have not yet received a refund for the room downgrade. Additionally when I arrived and asked Erin, the receptionist, which room I had she immediately fired back I had been placed in the studio. I was given no time to ask questions, had to interrupt go ask about parking, and overall felt I was being chastise throughout the check in process. I am not sure if its something I did that bothered Erin or if thats her usual mannerism in terms of greeting guests. Erin made sure to point out she had texted me and I hadnt responded (I was driving to get to the lodge) and quickly told me to text back ACCEPT- I thought I was consenting to texts instead I realized after the fact that I had to select a link to read the terms and conditions and texting accept meant I was accepting the terms. I also proceeded to received varied texts that seened to be aimed at all guests, one stating we specifically ask that no clothing be hung on your porch (i hadnt been there for longer than 30 minutes and hadnt even unloaded my car). We were also handed a hard copy terms and conditions sheet which I signed and was writting in the name of my partner fully intending to have him sign for himself. Erin noticed and started telling me I couldnt sign for my partner. I started to explain and she reached across her desk and crossed out my writing while I was mid sentence.Once we got to our room we immediately noticed the lack of ventilation, so we opened all windows. Although outdoors the weather was cool and pleasant since 7pm, the room only cooled down after 2am. The lack of ventilation was unexpected. The bed in the studio was a murphy bed that was uncomfortable such that we were up until 3:30am. My partner and I are use to camping and can usually sleep in varied settings, but we kept sliding into the middle of the bed which had zero support. In the morning my partner twisted his ankle after stepping up next to the banister where there is a gapping hole. Overall the location was wonderful and wished the customer service were improved.

I cannot express how disappointing and frustrating it was having saved and looked forward to coming here for the best part of a year. I get it, its Tahoe, its chilly usually but it was almost 90 out and only 2 fans to cool off was really disappointing because we overlooked that detail. BUT it was a great place if your not an overheating person like myself. Private lake access was golden. Would return and likely will...if the Lodge sees this, behind the bed and the wall theres a gap that the pillows continued to slip in. Made things difficult, Id install something so pillows arent falling behind the bed. Couldnt even sit and read without it slowly slipping away, had to move to chair vs comfortable bed.

Spent 3 nights here in February for a guys ski trip.PROS: Good location in Tahoe Vista/Kings Beach, walking distance to several bars/restaurants, 20 minutes to Northstar, 40 minutes to Squaw. Really liked the ability to text message with the front desk, never seen that before and it was really helpful, as was the staff overall. Hot tubs were clean and HOT...lakeside hot tub was too hot, probably should turn that thing down a notch! They also provided robes and large towels for the hot tub...nice touch. Rooms were clean and had a real log cabin style feel. Rooms were equipped with full range, dishwasher, fridge, microwave, mini gas fireplace and full size coffee maker with coffee provided.CONS: Just a couple small items. Carpeted floors had a layer of dirt/muck on them, probably from so many people walking in and out with so much ice and snow in the area. Can’t steam clean the carpets after every stay, so hard to blame Red Wolf. Just bring a pair of Sanuk’s to wear while inside, leave boots by the door. Lakeside hot tub must have been 105/106+. Couldn’t stay in for more than a few minutes at a time.Overall, highly recommend this place and would totally stay here again. Thanks, Red Wolf!!

We both have severely injured backs. When we tried to speak to the manager, she made us feel stupid and was only concerned about pointing out that she was right. We own a timeshare here and this Lodge is very well maintained. It is not a big fancy place, rather, it is a quaint, cozy lakeside cabin resort that has a swimming pool, two hot tubs, on sight laundry, and even kayaks to use during the summer. They have a private dock right on the lake! During the week there are different activities the Lodge has like smores night, some kind of arts/craft activity, game night, welcome breakfast, age appropriate hot toddy night, and things like that. They have a big selection of DVDs you can check out. The front desk person, Kelly, has been there for 16 years now, and has always been so helpful and hospitable. If you are looking for a nice cozy mountain getaway by the lake and near Kings Beach in N. Lake Tahoe, I highly recommend Red Wolf Lakeside Lodge.

As others have said on Google Reviews, I strongly recommend to do not work with ResorTime or book with any hotel that uses them. Through a mistake of Expedia, the wrong date was booked. Expedia reached out to ResorTime to process a refund, but even though this request was done within minutes of the booking, ResorTime refused to process the refund. Run away from this company with all speed.

If you exchange through RCI, a resort fee of $22 per day will be charged. That is $154 per week, on top of the exchange fee paid to RCI. I thought $22 was for the entire stay or per week, but no, that was per day. For what? For free wifi and hot tub? Thats it. At other places, a resort fee of $59 per week would give you much more.(Edit) I am upgrading my review to five stars. It seems quite standard now RCI resorts charge a fee of $50 and up per week. The fee at this resort is definitely on the high side but the overall cost is not so overpriced. There is nothing to complain about the resort or the service. I will consider come back again, but I do hope they will provide some real breakfast.

Avoid making a reservation here if you want any flexibility for your Tahoe vacation -- most unaccommodating place Ive come across in terms of altering dates. I caught a flu bug and could not make it out one weekend for a ski trip; instead of empathizing and allowing a switch to the following weekend, the customer service was a hot mess of phone tags and a complete lack of empathy with the customer. They ended up charging me the entire amount. Initially we had to wait in front of the office for quite some time to check in as there was no one... At around evening, suddenly the toilet got clogged, unfortunately no one responded to our phone and sms call... My brother had to go out, buy a plumbing equipment, and fix it himself as we had have a working toilet to pass the night comfortably... The following morning someone showed up at our door asking if we needed to plumbing... After around 12 hours of requirement generation!

Definitely the fyre festival of lodges . The room we got was 1/4 the size of the pictures in the ad. Was told by an untold amount of staff that this WAS the correct room and there was absolutely no way in hell we were right in any way. This place is a joke from hell. Oh. And theres no private beach. Aaaaand we had to park the second car 2 miles away at a casino.

Received a charge on my incidentals that there was a daily resort fee, which I only realized after looking back at the policy. I had previously booked on Airbnb and this charge was not transparent. I dont understand why this is not included in the initial booking fee.
