Red Lobster in Chico, Ca, was open for lunch when we arrived at 1:45 pm after a beautiful day of sightseeing. After a short wait, we were kindly greeted by the hostess and shown to our booth. One of the reasons we chose this restaurant was because there was a posting by someone of a gluten free menu at another Red Lobster. We found out up front that they did not have one, but we proceeded on since steak, salad, and baked potatoes are usually an option. There was a section in the menu dedicated to a lunch menu which allowed flexibility on how many entree items could be included. One of my guests, my brother, ordered the coconut shrimp with mashed potatoes, and the other, my mother, ordered the two lobster tail meal with a baked potato and broccoli. Our server, who was very friendly and busy, brought out waters and went to ask about a gluten free menu. The chef, whom I assumed was very busy also, personally came out some time later when he could with an allergen binder in which he presented to me and apologized for not having a menu, but explained where I could look to see what they had that was gluten free. I ordered a 7 ounce sirloin, which was delicious, and a loaded baked potato which was good. My brother said the coconut shrimp were only okay and the mashed potatoes tasted like instant mashed potatoes. That was a shame. My mother enjoyed her lobster tails and shared them with my brother along with the broccoli and baked potato since his meal was not what he expected, particularly for the price and at a restaurant like this. The atmosphere was typical for a Red Lobster. Everyone there was working hard to service the customers that came in during what seemed like a bit of a rush, so service was a bit delayed because of the influx. Overall a pleasant experience, but because of my brother’s subpar meal I had to deduct from the rating.

Excellent seafood here. It’s been a few years since I came in to eat at this Chico location, the servers were very respectful and nice and courteous and helpful, yes the food may be a little expensive, but it’s well worth it, I will be back.

Service was beyond amazing. Had someone check one us about every 3 mins. 1 person was on drinks and another on rolls. Food was out in about 10 mins after orderingUpdate: came back in today a year later and service is still fast and amazing. My food was awesome but the only thing is a problem wiyh my girlfriends food. Left the tails on the shrimp in a saucy pasta. But other than that it was perfect. Also take advantage of endless shrimp while its here.

Came here on a Monday. Short wait for a table, but the wait time for the food was pretty long. The food was too greasy for my liking but the flavor was good. Also the main dishes were cold but the appetizers came hot to the table. I’m not sure what the hype is with Red Lobster because to me it’s really nothing special. The waitress literally came to get our order and BOUNCED. She didn’t come back until we needed the check. We had to wave her down for another drink and her attitude was bland. Would I come back? Most likely not.

Red Lobster...the most generic of seafood restaurants, offering and promising the freshest seafood around. Im doing this review because it was my Sisters birthday, AND it was the Endless Shrimp promotion. For starters, the restaurant was 1/2 empty, but it took 40 minutes to seat us (a party of 5) with ZERO parties in front of us. Once seated, another 10 minutes for a waitress to take our drink orders, and 10 more for the drinks to arrive with 5 baskets of biscuits. Its as if they KNEW we were there for their promotion, and were filling us up to save shrimp. We ALL ordered the Endless Shrimp, and proceeded to wait 25 minutes for our dinner to arrive. It was what we all thought, mediocre Shrimp dishes portioned out to appear appetizing, and yes, even if it was neverending, they did make you wait 10-12 minutes between dishes AFTER taking them halfway through our meal. By FAR, the best were the Dragon Shrimp and the Coconut Shrimp (they were out[!?] of the Shrimp Rangoon), and The Shrimp Linguini was SO heavy it made for a tough eat. The basic Shrimp Scampe was what you expected, Shrimp in a garlic butter sauce. I could go on and on about the basic, no-frills flavors and sub-par service... even Red Lobster pushing a photographer to shill birthday photos, but I wont. Real purveyors of seafood will always find better options, and you should. This is for tourists who dont know better, or those looking to spend a few bucks for all you can eat! There are better establishments in Chico, so seek them out and save your pallet from microwaved and frozen seafood.

I ordered the stuffed mushroom appetizer. The container only housed seven mushrooms. I was hoping for more. Why not eight stuffed mushrooms?I had to wait a few extra minutes for the biscuits, but they were worth the wait. I received three biscuits in a bag. The food was good overall, I was just expecting a little more.The staff was friendly.

Wednesday special was fantastic.Lobster tail and a sirloin for $28.The food tasted great.Service needs improvement..-No one at the greeting counter-Self seated myself at the bar-No one came to the bar for 15 minutes even though the employees could see me.Please have a manager on duty to supervise the employee and coach them on service.

Took my parents here for their 61st (my moms favorite restaurant). We all had variations of the ultimate feast. All was great, except the food came out on cool plates, and thus, the feast didnt stay warm for long.

I really dont understand what all the fuss is about this place. This is some of the worst food Ive ever tasted. The texture of the lobster, shrimp and crab meat was fine, but the strong oils, sauces and breading they used, made it completely inedible. I dont know what ingredients they put in there, but I took one bite and wanted to vomit. I managed to force down a biscuit and two crab cakes, but by the time I got to my lobster the strong flavor was too much to bear. It probably would have tasted better plain. The cheese of the pizza was dense and flooded with butter and oil. While, the dough on the biscuits and crab cakes had a very strange consistency, thats hard to describe, but it seemed like the chef either put one too many eggs in there, or didnt cook it fully. I dont know what was in that stuff.The only thing I will compliment here are the aesthetics of the restaurant and the friendliness of the staff.Maybe Red Lobsters elsewhere are different, but this one certainly isnt one to brag about. This was more of a been there, done that thing.$50.00 down the toilet.

Im giving 4 stars because we ordered medium rare NY steak but what we got was cooked medium. The appetizer was excellent and the dessert was very good . Serving size was big. Place is very clean, staffs are warm and friendly. Price is right for what we ordered .

Busy Friday night, we went in with our 2 yrs old to celebrate.Service was overall good during the dinner. We had a take out to go along with our dine in and take out took forever.Food: lobsters are good, not great for this kind of place. $60 for a dish and they included a free desert as well. Both lobsters (grilled and steamed) were juicy, not dried out.

Red lobster use to be a family favorite around here.. After all the recent changes and much smaller portions it just became a major disappointment.We went for my husbands birthday dinner. Dom our waiter informed us biscuits were cooking and should be about 20 mintues. Yet after 40 mintues we still had none and he repeated what he said earlier plus but thats ok, right? No actually its not ok! Other people were being seated with biscuits that arrived after us. After that conversation our side salad- which are an extra $3 now and half the size- arrived then biscuits, and the food was delivered within 2 mintues. Mine you we were told the biscuits were coming and would need to wait 20 minutes but they were brought right out.We were already discussing leaving because the rate for the place had gone sour. After seeing the portions that look like kid meal portions we were done and left.We went to Logans restaurant and had an amazing experience with great food!

I absolutely LOVE Red Lobster. I did go often but prices the way they are I don’t go much at all. This is the first time I did not use my Rewards I earned when the family went there to eat in January, for my birthday. We order close to the same things we do every year. So we get all the variety of the foods we want by sharing with each other. The bill has always been almost $200 with a great tip bcz the servers are awesome. This year the bill was almost $400 which is absolutely crazy!! I would rate it at 5 if the price was down just a bit.This year we had the pleasure of having 2 new family members with us. My great granddaughter and my granddaughters fiancé 😊

Here currently right now. Worst experience I have ever had a a Red Lobster. Got the endless shrimp. There are 3 of us and we all got the endless shrimp. They were missing some of the shrimp offered on the list. Utensils were dirty, literally had stains of food on the handle and the eating part of the fork. They were running out of dishes. Also the only shrimp that was worth eating on the list was taking forever to come out. I waited for a good 45 minutes for them to bring it out, only for the waiter to offer it for us to go anyways. Like as if I didnt want to stay to eat more shrimp. They brought out our food Luke warm. My sister ended up asking for fresh fries and they still brought her out cold fries after she sent the others back to be fresh. This is officially my last time at this red lobster. I am from Southern California. This is the 3rd restaurant I had to ex out up here. The food up here is trash and the service is trash!

Ive never had such butter soaked oil drenched food in my life. Everything just tastes like butter and my wifes crab legs were covered in oil and garlic, why not make crab legs harder and messier to eat🤷. It almost wasnt worth the mess or work because the lags had paper thin meat anyway. The waiter was 100% he did a great job but by no means was our dinner for 2 @$100 worth it. We took leftovers home which was pretty much the whole dish because I hate wasting food but I had to chuck it.

As I mostly deliver from the restaurant, it is popular among my customers.The few times I have gone to the restaurant myself the food has been good. The seafood can sometimes be overcooked as shrimp lobster crab and scallops are heat and time sensitive, but everything is very yummy and worth the money Ill be, it can get pretty pricey pretty fast.

My worker was Tony he was the absolute best I accidentally ordered the wrong lobster and didnt realize it and I didnt say anything about it but it was my birthday and he made it extra-special! We went there to celebrate a birthday group of 6. Everyone had ordered an alcoholic beverages, but me I had water The waitress always seem to over look my empty glass. I found that rude. Also Everyone got there food except my boyfriend he does not like seafood so he ordered a cheeseburger. They forgot to make his food. The manager came out and was like do you still want us to make it, probably be another 20min. So we all sat waiting for his food order. Then it made him feel rushed to eat it. They did give it to us at no charge, but still the service was not the best. Top it off they for got my side of stuffed mushrooms that was supposed to come with my salad. I just let that go seems they were already having some trouble with the burger situation.

I could come here for the biscuits alone! I try to replicate them but they arent the same! I hope the people who make them get the recogition they deserve because they are really the backbone of Red Lobster! I heard that the waitstaff doesnt tip out the kitchen, but that couldnt be right. Every restaurant Ive ever worked in had waitstaff tip out kitchen or bartenders. Anyway, keep up the winning recipie! Love it!

If you like seafood that has relatively good quality this is the place to go. Unless you like sushi or something like that youre going to have to find your own favorite spot. But Red lobster is not like a Taco Bell of seafood Its much better than that. The best way to describe it is when you go to someplace like McDonalds you always gets kind of the same thing. They excess on quality and customer service. I enjoy going out of the area and seeing a Red lobster and I would stop there before I would go to something I dont have in my local area.

The food is good, but its definitely not a place for a quick bite to eat. A person needs to plan on spending 2 hours or more if they want to dine here as it takes a while to get your order and if you go there with a group of people, some people will get their meals before others in the group. Sometimes, others in the group will be finished with a meal before one or more even get their food served.

Despite looking forward to a great dinner, tonight ended up being one of the worst dining experiences weve ever had. After appetizers arrived, we ordered our food and never saw the waiter again for at least 45 minutes. Our drinks were empty, the dirty appetizer plates stayed on our table, and the restaurant was more than half empty. I finally put our dirty plates onto another table that had been left half cleaned for at least 30 minutes beside us, including a dirty wash rag. When ordering our entrees, we told the waiter one of our guests had an allergy. He said he would confirm that their dish would be served to fit their needs, and if it couldnt be, he would come back and let us know. He never returned so we thought all was well. Instead, when he came back, he came with food for all of us, except our guest with the allergy. When I reminded him that hed said he would come back and tell us if the dish couldnt be prepared appropriately, he said he completely forgot. Now, we had to sit with all our food getting cold while they prepared her a replacement entree, since we were clearly not going to eat without her. By the time her food arrived, our food was barely warm, my lobster was cold and too tough to eat, my husbands steak was cold and my sons salmon was just barely warm as well. At this point, the waiter finally brought out another round of drinks and we suffered thru what part of our dishes we could eat. My birthday dinner was so far from what I had anticipated all day and the waiter didnt even offer a discount or anything. We paid a pretty high bill for a meal that none of us could finish. So beyond disappointing and the restaurant was slow. There was no excuse for that type of customer service, especially when people came in after us, ordered and got their food down before ours even got to the table. I do not recommend visiting this place at all.

Really must be missing something here. The service, cleanliness, and atmosphere where really great, but I cant believe how horrid the food was. Ive had shrimp served directly out of a bucket on the side of the highway in Esanada, and somehow the food served here was seven times the price and more disgusting on appearance and taste.Kind feels like this chain will be gone once everyone born before 1984 stop eating out regularly.

This Red Lobster location was great! I am a vegetarian, but my friends and family that were with me ordered what they love most, meat and seafood. They were kind enough to make their pizza without meat for me when asked. The waiters and waitresses were so kind and were on top of making sure we liked, and had everything we needed. Warning: Weve been going here for years but no more. I ordered a strawberry colada and my pineapple had a hair on it. I know it didnt come from me because I noticed it as soon as the bartender put it down. I took a window seat which was covered in dust, bugs, and old food crumbs.The final straw: My kids ordered the shrimp linguini and shared a plate. As soon as we got home, something wasnt right, they are now both throwing up. My daughter only had a few bites and has thrown up 5 times. My son said something tasted different but we didnt know until after. Over 5 hours later and they are still puking up the food. We ended our night in the E.R. because it wouldnt stop. You guys just lost loyal customers.

My favorite dish here (the salmon New Orleans) is $32, suffice to say its not a place Id hit up regularly, but more so for occasions (like birthdays). The service is usually pretty good here and they have an abundance of booths which is a must for me when choosing a dine-in restaurant. They do have lunch specials through the week days if youd like to try them out on more of a budget. Not only was this burger —well done— it was hard and not “waygu” quality at all... more like a low quality cafeteria burger. We were seated with a short wait but the Crab was very expensive for a pound of almost non-existent meat in the legs! Asparagus was the thin variety and so woody and overcooked that it was impossible to chew. Service was wishy-washy mediocre. I probably wont be returning.

Always go to this restaurant when they have endless shrimp 👌Update. Went back for endless shrimp. They do not have the same kinds if shrimp but what they do have were pretty good. They let me have lobster mac n cheese and a sirloin steak for my sides.

Red Lobster has always been our favorite chain for a casual dinner and this location does not disappoint. Very short wait and good service despite the place being rather busy during our last visit. My mothers favorite was the Maine Lobster, so every December 20th I go to a Red Lobster to celebrate my mothers birthday. This particular Red Lobster in Chico California does have friendly staff and a decently clean restaurant. I do wish that when the bread baskets were brought out they would bring more than three in the basket when there are three people at the table. Theres always that one person at the table who has to take more than one or more than two and then someone ends up with none. Not that thats the servers fault but it would be nice to refill the basket more often.. maybe perhaps they were just running low on my particular visit. Nonetheless I do and will recommend the Red Lobster in Chico as they are friendly and do keep the menu items in stock.

We visited the Red Lobster in Chico, Ca on Tuesday March 25th. Sorry to say it was NOT a pleasant dinner for a birthday. The lobster was tough as shoe leather! Most everything was over cooked and dry. We waited about 15 minutes for our salad which was limp and warm. When the plates arrived not one was what we ordered. We ask for more bread it never came. I ask for more raspberry tea. I got regular. We will not be returning to the Red Lobster.

Never ever go there during off hours! The policy is 1 wait person per 3 tables. The last 2 times I tried to go there was only 1 wait person, even though there were 2 hosts. With 4 couples waiting and 3 parties at tables, the manager informed me that it would be an extended wait as it would be over an hour until another wait person would come on shift. Not good.

For years this restaurant has been the top of our list for special nights out. On Seoptember 18th we ate there for the final time. The dinners we ordered were up to $5.00 apiece higher than the last time we were were in there the amount of food was cut back enough to notice. The shrimp Alfredo was actually dry and the taste was off like they might have changed the recipe or lowered the quality of the ingredients. My husband remarked that the crab legs taste and texture was that of a frozen product. My sons favorite was no longer on the menu. Tell me, what sea food place doesnt offer fish and chips? Sorry to say goodbye to Red Lobster.
