I cannot talk enough about this place. Easily the coolest bar / speakeasy I’ve ever been to. You walk into a liquor store, sit at the fire place and the wall turns, transporting you into the bar. The atmosphere is incredible. Absolutely recommend this place and absolutely recommend a reservation WELL in advance.

This is probably the most beautiful bar Ive ever visited! The tropical contact highs that we ordered were delicious and Jaime was a really kind and helpful server. Im sure Ill be back with friends—this place has too much charm and uniqueness to only visit once! 🍹

Fun speakeasy with a revolving fireplace/ entrance. The ambience was nice and dark in the back room.We were seated in two uncomfortable chairs first so we asked to move to another table and they moved is to the booths flanking the walls around the room. I thought it was great to sit back, peruse their extensive cocktail menu, and enjoy the view of their beautiful chandelier over the central bar.Once we placed our drink orders, they came pretty quickly to the table. Each drink was about $10-$16 for our group. They could have used a little more alcohol but the drinks were fun and yummy.You should make reservations.

Such a fun place to start or end your evening out with friends, coworkers or a date night. Theres no food here, so its a true speak-easy, but the drinks and staff are amazing and its an electric atmosphere. It does get loud in here so to me its more of a party place than a meeting place but we have frequented Raised by Wolves since it opened. We love the secret entrance and showing RBW off to out of town guests. It can get very busy here so the waits weve experienced vary from 10 minutes to 1 hour. I do highly recommend Raised by Wolves!

Easily best bar to go to in San diego! They have the best atmosphere, drinks, and service. Highly recommend the strawberry alarm clock. This is the go to place if youre traveling, your 21st birthday, and to show off your knowledge of cool bars in San Diego.

Wonderful experience! The space is gorgeous and highly detailed from the entrance through the bar and even into the bathrooms. We enjoyed both alcoholic and zero-proof drinks along with the ambiance. Definitely a spot where you need a reservation in advance.

San Diego has no shortage of fun cocktail bars, but Raised by Wolves hit a bit different. Maybe it’s because I was genuinely surprised and caught off guard by how you get into the bar (which I won’t share here so that you, too, can experience the fun, unspoiled). The drinks were well crafted and complex, and the bar staff were knowledgeable and well-versed in the menu, eager to walk you through the options to find the perfect fit. Ambiance is cozy, dark academia meets Victorian hunters lodge.

Great cocktail bar, great liquor store. Ive been trying to come here for YEARS but reservations are always booked up pretty far in advance, especially on weekends. Ive tried just popping in at opening hoping to snag a walk-in spot, but even that has proved to be difficult. In all my missed attempts, I was able to browse their great selection of liquors and there are so many things well beyond my knowledge, but they did have a lot of good stuff I did recognize. Finally I was able to get a reservation in advance enough for a trip to San Diego. This place was well worth the wait! The entrance is super cool although slightly awkward because everyone else in the store just watches you go around. Also, if you are inside the bar during daylight hours, its a little annoying because the light floods in the bar every time someone new comes in. Once inside though the drinks here are great, the bartenders are very knowledgeable and can make you anything that you might be craving. I was here during Christmas and they had a cool holiday menu. Overall, great spot I will definitely try to come here again! Parking can be far and packed cuz this place is located in the mall. We ended up taking Uber so we could drink our hearts away!

This is in a mall environment but you would never guess!Once you see those cute little wolves outside propping the door open you know your in for a howling good time 🐺Sit down and spin around and you are welcome into a sexy and dark speakeasy.This places delivers on atmosphere and cocktails experience! Beautiful speakeasy cocktail bar located inside liqueur shop, behind the fireplace.The bar is opened at 3:00pm. Reservation is recommended. Cocktails were reasonably priced. I would recommend you to explore their liqueur selection at the shop as well. The staffs were very knowledgeable. They recommended us many good bottles.

Returned back to Raised by Wolves after not having been a couple years since they opened. I tried their drink, Zou Bisou Bisou, and I really enjoyed it. The flavors were fun and bright without being too sugary.The interior of this bar always impresses me, and I love how you feel like youve transported somewhere else from UTC.The staff are 10/10 as usual.

Its rare for me to give any location where I visit a score of 5. Its more like a 4.75, but Ill forgive the small details. The location is somewhat hidden 🫥. I did have to take two full turns around the building just to notice that I was actually in front of it all the time. My goof 🤪. Great lobby, such fantastic examples of brandy bourbon whiskey. The greeter was fabulous - super friendly and cultured. The rotating wall was a surprise. Once inside, the servers the bartender were amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful, a great first date location. Make reservations, I was fortunate to walk in. Drinks were strong and well presented. The experience is as close to a 5 as you can get. The outside atmosphere was festive, which koi fish pond for entertainment.1. Get there early, parking is heavy!!!! 30 min would be advisable2. What an awesome speakeasy! I loved this place so much, my husband and I went back twice during our visit to San Diego! The first time we sat at the bar. Tyler was an awesome bartender, and he really made our experience enjoyable. The cocktails are fantastic! The vibe is so cool. They have a lot of really cool, rare bourbons and liquor in the front of the store that I would’ve loved to of bought if I had the money. The second time we went, we sat at a table. I will say the service wasn’t nearly as personalized or as good. It was my birthday the second time we went, and the hostess at the front did tell me happy birthday, but that was about the extent of that. You can go here again and again, and get so many different drinks. Overall. I highly recommend. If I lived close by, this would be one of my favorites spots!

Came here with a few friends, so we ordered the Tropical Contact High, Bold and Brash, Tiramisu Tini, and the Pure Imagination.The Tiramisu was pretty good (not as strong of a tiramisu flavor as I would have liked) while the Pure Imagination definitely tasted like chocolate milk (no complaints here!). The Tropical had a pretty good grapefruit and guava flavor. Bold and Brash was good too, though a bit strong for me.The server was hospitable and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was very nice. Was a bit louder than I would have liked.Would come again.

Highly recommend reservations if youre coming here, but they do accept walk ins. Note: if you do not have a reservation there is a time limit of 1 hour.We were not anticipating coming here but walked in and put our name on the wait list, it was about a 30 minute wait to get in which went by rather quickly.To enter you have to sit on chairs next to the fireplace and the door spins you to the other side where youre catapulted to a different world. The inside is tastefully done and the vibes are awesome.Theres lots of drink selections so plan on flipping through the menu for a few minutes before making a selection.We had 4 different drinks, all were delicious. The names of the drinks are fun and the variety is unmatched.Although the bar is extremely busy the staff is very attentive and work quickly to get your drinks out. We were each able to have two drinks and enjoy them within our hour slot we were allotted.Cant wait to go back *with reservations of course* and enjoy this one of a kind cocktail bar!

We came to LaJolla from Hawaii for a work conference and happened to stumble upon this speakeasy by accident. While awaiting a seat at the nearby ramen restaurant, i ventured in. I thought it was an upscale liquor store. The attendant said the speakeasy was around the corner. We literally walked OUT of the establishment and AROUND the mall looking for it. Clearer instructions would have been helpful. Later we came back and saw people going in but not coming out and a rotating seating area that whisked people away to said speakeasy. Therefore we went in again and was told about such place. We made reservations for the next day.The place is dark with tons of drinks to choose from. There is no food so be mindful of that. But its definitely a great place to bring a date, friends or just unwind.My only wish is that I wish Hawaii had a place like this!

The entrance to Raised by Wolves was so unique and definitely gives you that speakeasy vibe feel. The atmosphere and vibes were dark, aesthetic, intimate and cozy. Definitely recommend making reservations in advance. Your best bet is to eat before you come here because they do not serve food at all. They have a variety of drinks to choose from and the bartender was helpful in being able to recommend a few for us. Would definitely come back here if I visit San Diego again!

Recently I was planning to head up to UTC. I’ve always wanted to stop by Raised by Wolves, so I checked open table and was in luck! I booked at 3:15pm reservation and made my way north. We were quickly seated at our reservation time. The menu was filled with unique concoctions that made it hard tochoose! Our bartender was super knowledgeable and friendly. Also, you can’t beat the vibes inside! Volume level was low.

Im not sure why this is listed as a speakeasy in San Diego when it is clearly in the heart of a mall? The decor and store front was spectacular.Entering into the hidden room was fun, yet I personally felt the old Casa Bonita vibes. Beautiful inside with prohibition Era Experience yet hard Rock music 🎶? Just didnt esthetically mesh well together.Our server sat us and vanished, and then a new guy was taking our order. The staff (not sure about bartenders in the center - they looked more sophisticated) seemed a little unkempt or on hangovers.So I was beyond excited to try the Pure Imagination, only to slurp it down like a shot enforced upon me in a college hazing challenge. Looked great, taste not so much. Great speakeasy located in the Westfield Mall across the way from La Colombe Coffee. Huge collection of whiskeys for purchase are available in the store. This place is not a secret and can get very busy, so reservations are recommended. You check in at the front and are led to sit at the fireplace which rotates around into the bar. The atmosphere is dark and decorated with great attention to details, even down to the lighted stars on the ceiling of the bathroom. The servers are friendly and attentive, boasting an impressive knowledge of each drink on the menu, as well as giving suggestions based on the types of alcohol you enjoy. You can get in as a walk in, although you will have standing room access only. The seating is close yet comfortable.

We went here as a group of 4 visiting from out of town. We couldnt make a reservation because they were all booked up, but we ended up getting on the wait list for standing room and that was about 45 minutes. When we checked in, they said they ended up having a table for us instead of standing room (theyd originally said the wait for a table was 2 hours) which was great. They do give you a time limit and will hold you to it if there are other people waiting to get in.The way into it is soooo cool and the drinks were good/decently priced. I kinda wish it was separate from the shopping center but overall it was a cool experience.

Supercool speakeasy with a very creative style. Nothing less than youd expect from this company, as they always do the best nightclubs in SD!My biggest complaint is that when you book a reservation you are set at a 90 min limit which would be fine if it didnt take over minutes to even take our order and then another 30 for it to come out. If I could spend the evening relaxing and drinking at this slow pace, it might be okay, but this means that when you pay for a reservation you only have time to rush order one or two things. We also reserved a table for two and it looked like they crammed extra chairs into an already crowded group and told us it was our table. Again, this would have been fine if we had an actual table it was just chairs by a lamp.The entrance process is epic, but make sure you plan your reservation timing accordingly

European themed shop full of some unique and highly expensive spirits. Reservations were booked weeks in advance allowing us to be swept away to another world. The secret entrance was so clever. We were blown away by the lavish decor and tasty whiskey creations. The attentive and hardworking staff entertained us for hours while we sat at the bar chatting with other guests. The bar is popular for a reason. My gal and I spent a pleasant evening there. Once you check in, the receptionist will seat you by the stove stage and you will be swirled in. The bar itself is small with the bar in the middle, but the cozy ambience is great.It’s rather loud there. We got a very nice table at the corner where we had an angle to observe people in the bar with a great balance of privacy.We each had two drinks and they were absolutely amazing. The bar doesn’t have a kitchen so, no food at all.The exit is on the other side of the store.

Definitely make a reservation! A girlfriend and I were able to get in but we waited about an hour and a half before a spot had opened up. Fortunately there is a lot to do at the mall, so we were able to kill some time elsewhere.I was happy to see that there were several zero proof (mocktail) options. I had the Bodega Baby, Golden Afternoon and Time of the Season.My absolute favorite of the 3 had to be the Golden Afternoon. It was wonderfully creamy with a hint of sweetness but it was also refreshing.The runner up was Time of the Season. I wanted a little bit of caffeine to get me through the night, so the black tea spoke to me! It was very refreshing and had complexity in its flavor.My least favorite of the 3 was the Bodega Baby. It was the most lacking in flavor, but it was very refreshing so I appreciated that.My friend had the Private Barrel Old Fashioned which she enjoyed, as well as the For the Byrds. She enjoyed both her drinks and we both loved the experience we had at the bar.

The atmosphere was amazing. The biggest downside was the music was a tad bit loud, making conversations hard. Also, no food is available here unfortunately. The average signature cocktails ranged between $15-20 but higher quality whiskeys started about $45. Overall the drinks were good and secret revolving door to the bar was awesome. Fascinating shop & speakeasy. We had reservations for a group of 4 on Sunday night right before Halloween. We were about 20 mins late, and were still able to be accommodated even though it’s 15 mins grace period for reservations. You check in with the host at the front of the store then sit in the chairs to be taken back to the speakeasy where another staff takes you to your table. Beautiful atmosphere but it’s a little loud. Drinks were great both in taste and presentation, and they had a clue game over Halloween (solving it gets a free round of shots). Our server Steven was fantastic! Overall we had a great experience and would love to come back soon.

Really cool speakeasy style bar located in a mall. My wife and I loved the whole vibe and decor. Felt very 1920s art deco, think Great Gatsby. We were fortunate to get a reservation on a Saturday so didn’t have to wait but they do allow walk ins, just be prepared to wait around an hour or more. Nice thing is you can kill some time shopping at lux stores. Cocktails were great and selection was very impressive. I had the Island Old Fashioned and it was really good! Staff was attentive and provided recommendations. Definitely will be back.

Very fun and cute speakeasy! Have a seat at the fire place, and be transported to what feels like 20s Era. Went here with a group of friends and we all ordered different cocktails, each one delicious and well made! I ordered the mild seditative (pic inserted) very nicely presented with the flowers and umbrella. The ambiance is very relax and dark which makes it hard to read the drink menu, i had to use my phone light, but other than that great place to have drinks before or after dinner!

I found that this was a nice place to wind down an afternoon of food and shopping. We made a reservation for four and got in within several minutes of arrival. We were guided to our seating and checked on several times through our experience.There is some hang time between orders and delivery, but I really feel this place is more about experiencing the atmosphere, chatting with your friends about the day and other past and upcoming experiences while sipping on a beverage.If you need fast (immediate) booze, there are bars around that can do this. I really did feel this way about a calmer atmosphere in a Speakeasy Lounge. Keyword being lounge.Our reservation was at 3pm on a Saturday. We did our shopping and food between noon and then. Wound down the day with a signature Old Fashioned and a Monte Carlo with good company here. Top notch in my book.

Tried messaging them on Instagram as well and they didnt respond.When we needed to update the reservation we had to go in person and talk to someone there.Made a reservation ahead of time for 6 people and even when we had to adjust it to add people in, they were nice about it and let us in pretty much on time.I got a mocktail (from the zero proof menu) because I wasnt feeling a drink, and absolutely loved it. This place is truly unique from the entrance to the exit. I visited Raised by Wolves with my husband for my birthday and had the best experience. The revolving fireplace entrance opened up to the bar room where we sipped on a cocktails called the Iron Ranger, which were some of the better cocktails I have had in a long time. Our waiter was super kind, attentive, and made me feel valued as a customer on my birthday. Cannot wait to go back!

Unique, fun and oh so appealing!Came to visit out of town and I’m so glad we came by! I HIGHLY recommend doing reservations, at least 3 days in advance if you want a seat. Bar availability is more available if it’s last minute.The details of the space really have you observing at length to find all the things they’ve done to keep true to their name.We ordered a tiki room, cosmic dancer, redstart, and champagne splits. All our drinks were made with so much detail and they were all delicious!If you’re a rum lover, I highly recommend the tiki room, it was my favorite drink.Parking was rather easy, location was also easy to find and wait times to get seated wasn’t too long but they were quick to get us seated when the time came!Price ranges for drink I’d say are quite average for cocktails.Overall I highly recommend giving a visit!

Fascinating bar with secret entrance. Located inside the La Jolla University village mall, this whisky bar is a charming shop with many varieties of unique whiskies. They have a large collections of rear and expansive whisky brands from all over the world.When we first got into the shop, we thought it was just a whisky store. Then we found out that when people sit on the chairs in front of the fire place, the place would turn the chairs to the bar in the back through the hidden secret entrance. The inside is quite big with full bar and a big lounge.It’s a popular place with young people. We saw waves of people going in and out of the bar. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get in as an advanced reservation was required. We could only peek through the secret door when people went in or came out.

Absolutely amazing! My wife made reservations for my birthday at Raised by Wolves and it was one of the best nights out Ive ever had. Ive been to many bars across the country with different concepts and themes, Raised by Wolves is one of the few I would visit again and by far my favorite! The staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and friendly. The cocktails were inventive and approachable, while still being unique and interesting. The atmosphere was relaxed and upscale, with old school class and comfort. I truly wish I lived in town and could visit daily. Sláinte!

This place has a great atmosphere. However we were ignored as we entered (they were busy). We had reservations so we went through the large rotating fireplace. After we were seated we basically got ignored, even after they made a mistake on our drink order and brought us the wrong items. We felt dismissed. They didnt come over until we started putting on our jackets to leave. We wont be back. Dont believe the hype.

One of my favorite speakeasies Ive ever been to. Highly recommend making resys way in advance as the line right when the place opened was out the door. Theres a cool dark ambience with dim lightning. They have a wide variety of cocktails. After going through the moving door, you enter a wide open circular bar with seating all around. My friends and I ordered everything from the Cosmic Dancer, Kentucky Buck, Tiki Room and the Cumulonimbus. I loved the Cumulonimbus because of the strong tequila and baking spices. The Kentucky Buck was very similar to a Moscow Mule. Prices are reasonable and they get really creative with their drinks. Its a great spot to go for some pre/post dinner drinks. If you want a place that has plenty of lighting this is not for you. Its a more intimate date not spot. Ill definitely be back to try their other cocktails.

This place is super popular these days. Walk ins are first come first serve so make a reservation if you can. We waited about 15 minutes after our reservation. The front is actually a store that sells very high end bottles of liquor and are displaced in a very eye catching way. The way the fireplace turned was kind of corny though, kind of too obvious for a speak easy.. anyways we were greeted by the hoist once we got inside who sat us at in the back. Lighting was okay back there but it make it a little hard to read the menu.The table had drawers on it so of course I opened them and found a bunch of napkins with nots written on them, we took them out and started reading them. Some of them were good and some of them were corny, but one of them said “always tip your server” that napkin was under the rest of the napkins, not on purpose but just because it was the first one we read as we went through them. Waiter came and said hi then asked where all the napkins came from and I said they were in the drawer. And wouldn’t you know it she went straight for the napkin about tipping and said “always tip your server isn’t that funny” with a subtle laugh. My cousin and I just kind of stared blankly at her.. it kind of made us uncomfortable like she was trying to tell us something or is she was judging off appearance that weren’t going to?? I don’t know the whole encounter was super uncomfortable.I had the little red door to drink but I don’t remember the drink my cousin got. The little red door is a gin drink that was sweet but very very strong served with one large ice cube. This drink wasn’t even filled half way but for how little of it there was.. it had a balance.The table next to us had 8 people with two of our small tables pushed together, it looked like they were trying to have a office outing but their space was too small, and the drinks they had must have been strong because they were talking loudly and were super obnoxious.We had to flag down our waiter a few times because of where we were sitting we seemed to be forgotten. This was a really cool bar/speakeasy everyone should at least experience once. I wouldnt necessarily say its hidden based on the amount of people waiting and you can see them enter, but even then the experience is still unique, especially for people not used to speakeasy bars. The cocktails are good and decently priced and turn around is quick, but you are more so expected to order off the menu versus the old fashioned/original speakeasy concept where they create a drink for you based on what liquor/flavors you like. Note they Do Not serve food here, just drinks, but there are plenty of other places in the mall to eat. The bar tenders are nice and the staff is typically able to get you in within an hour or two if youre on the waitlist especially the earlier it is, otherwise Id recommend making a reservation. Ive walked by this place a couple of times before the UTC started charging for parking. I always thought it was an eclectic gift shop based on the ornate windows. The store front is a little liquors and spirits shop offering alcohols from all over the world at a wide range of prices.Im sure everyone is here for the speakeasy in the back. Reservations are strongly recommend since it is such a unique experience! My party was there for about 2 hours on a weekend and it was packed the entire time! Theres a hidden panel in the shop that leads to a swanky lounge complete with fountain and bar. Drinks here are expertly crafted and the menu is diverse. There are several speakeasy bars in San Diego and this is the one to go to if you are in La Jolla.Usually on the weekend it is rather crowded and if you want to sit at the table you would need reservation (which you may need couple of weeks in advance for Saturday if your group is large!). But if you are fine with standing at the bar, feel free to wait in line. If the line is very long (an hour) then they can send you a text message when its your turn, so you can explore UTC shops in the meanwhile.The entrance to the main hall of the bar is its own story. Dont want to spoil it -- come and see by yourself.I want to note that the alcoholic smell in the bar makes it even more cozy in some way.The drinks are not too expensive and they update the menu from time to time. This place is pretty hard to get into without a reservation. My first time here, it took me about 3 hours to get into without a reservation, and had a blah experience. Nevertheless, I decided to give it another shot and the second time made a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. This time though, we ended up having a positive experience. They were pretty accommodating when we wanted to switch from bar seating to standard seating. The vibe here is amazing. The lavish dome and fountain decor as you enter are splendid. When our friends told us about raised by wolves we could not wait to see the place! I wish that the secret door was more hidden in the store but the concept is awesome. I would never expect to find this type of place in the middle of a mall. We came on a Wednesday night and it was busy. It seems like they regulate how many people come in and out so even though it was busy it never got crowded. I loved the round bar in the center and the service was too notch, our server coming around always just on time. The cocktails were very yummy and original, it was cool to look through the staff crafted cocktails. It is awesome to see people express & celebrate their creativity at work.

This place was unique yes however the hour and a half wait and the added incident of the waiter accidentally spilling my friends cocktail on his brand new 80 dollar shoes (that he bought while we were waiting to get into the bar) kinda put a little damper on it. When we got in and were seated, it took quite a while for someone to come to us. Maybe 20 min-ish. To the point where me and my friend were asking ourselves “are we being deliberately ignored?” And then when we were finally served, it had got so close to last call that we basically needed to order 2 rounds at once because there wasn’t going to be time to finish our 1st round and then order another. With that being said, when we were being waited on, our server, I believe it was Chandler, was extremely friendly and pleasant. He had a great attitude and was a joy. I just wish we would have got attention a little quicker when we got in. All in all, I would definitely come back here and recommend it to friends

Fantastic to suddenly find yourself inside this speakeasy! The entrance had an incredible selection of bottles you can buy. Inside is laced with gorgeous lines, lights and amazing bar. As a world wide traveler, I have never experienced an odd service like this. The receptionist is going to take my number and tell me it’s an hour wait. Then an hour goes by and we show up saying well it’s been an hour. Another receptionist saying we already did last call. I was like well we never got the message. Then she says oh it was put as no guarantee. I emphasize that your co-worker did say that. Why would I wait an hour for no guarantee, then I would go elsewhere. This is such a terrible customer service experience I had for this caliber of a fancy bar. Well now I’ll just spread the word don’t bother this place and try other cool bars in town.

This is definitely a must visit speakeasy in San Diego. To begin with, the shop itself is filled with many interesting spirits and products, from chile liqueurs to premium Japanese whiskeys. Once you enter the lounge area itself, you feel instantly transported to a previous time and are amazed. I would highly recommend getting seated at the bar as you get the best view of the 360 bar and get to see how the astonishing cocktails get crafted. Cannot believe this quirky speakeasy is in an outdoor mall.The cocktails we had were shockingly good.The weight list was quite long but since we were in the mall anyway we were able to do some last-minute Christmas shopping before getting some drinks.The mall also has a Din Tai Fung restaurant if youre hungry while waiting (you can make reservations on Yelp for the restaurant but you have to sign in at Raised by Wolves to get on their waitlist) which has good Taiwanese food (soup dumplings/xiao long bao.) Theres also an excellent Ramen shop next to the speakeasy... although they have pretty long lines as well.Had the banana cocktail after a few other cocktails for dessert.Looking forward to going back.Lots of mall parking. He told us theyd recently won the 19th best bar in the country.We didnt make reservations but managed to get a spot after an hours wait.
