Rafi is fantastic, while having only recently been introduced to his shop by a friend, I was happy with basic oil changes etc…but then he took it to a new level when the work for my 2019 BMW X3 was coming in at close to $4000. I basically said keep the car and I’ll walk! Then I remembered I had purchased a warranty when I did a refi on my car. Side note: they had yet to cover ANYTHING in over two years…but Rafi said, give me the number and Ill handle it!! And he did!!! Not only was he proactive, worked with their claims and on-site adjuster, he managed to get all the services covered!! My out of pocket was $500 for my deductible! Unbelievable and I’m a true fan! Quality, expertise,and stands by his work!

Watch out guys, this shop is probably the biggest scam in West LA, DON’T COME here!!shop originally quoted me $600 to check/recharge AC if needed and replaced my battery but the final invoice came out to $1,072.94The shop owner probably feels bad that he ripped me off so on the final bill, he lowered the amount to $900 👎🏼👎🏼

I have been coming here for about 2 years and have had a fantastic experience each time. Rafi and his staff take the time to make sure I understand what is happening with my car when there is an issue, clearly outline the costs and what i actually need vs what is optional, and work quickly and efficiently. Earlier this week I thought I was due for general maintenance so I brought my car in. Upon arrival I talked to Rafi and he checked the records and found that I was good for another few thousand miles. He offered to do a quick check of my car to make sure everything was running smoothly and my oil levels were good. After he ran the check (about 2 hours) everything came back good and he did not charge me at all! I am so grateful to Rafi and his autoshop. I know I am in good hands every time I go there. I recommend this shop to everyone!

Save your time do not go here. Staff was extremely rude to me. I explained my issue in fullness and was met with a brute response of “that’s not what I asked you” even though I answered the question saying I needed a single tire fixed or replaced. They didn’t have the tire I wanted so I asked if they could put air in it and I’d pay and they refused to help. This is well deserved one star for negligent behavior and shady business practice, turning me away for absolutely no reason. I was polite the whole way through and wish for no one to have to be treated like this.

Spent $5000 (after i talked him down from $6700) here thinking thats expensive, but at least Ill have my 100k mile car all fixed up and Ill have piece of mind. Thought to come here because it had good reviews and my usual mechanic was out of town for the month. When he came back he told me i had been grossly overcharged. The kicker? Now my car has more problems that when I first brought it here. Shady. Dont bring your car here.Edit*I knew he would IMMEDIATELY reply. 11 minutes later with the retort. Most businesses, when they get a negative review, they might reply with some version of sry you had a negative experience or we continue to try to offer the best service, sry if we at all fell short something like that. This guy goes on here to tell everyone theyre lying. Stay away.

The team of technicians here are absolutely incredible. I have referred each and everyone of my friends and family and bring all of my cars here.I’ve done everything with these guys. Smog, engine problems, transmission stuff etc. never had a problem or complaint.Seriously, I used to go to the dealer pay way over price for the same service. It’s true not all mechanics are the same. Rafi and Kevin thoroughly check my car always, letting me know what needs fixing now and what’s left for Next service.Rafi helps me sleep at night knowing my car won’t stop in the middle of the highway I’ve dealt with too many bad mechanics and now I know when you find the right one pay the right price you get the best service and now I never have a problem.Highly trust these guys!!

You know I appreciate Rafi big time. My girl has been a customer for years and I always teased her about it. I tried getting her to go to other shops that were recommend by my mechanic friends.Well theyve been super nice and honest with her. She can go alone and they dont take advantage and over charge. They washed her car and filled the gas tank after a sensor replacement of her x3. That made me think this guy might be legit.My warranty and service plan expired without my knowledge. I went to BMW for my 2020 x6. $2100 for an oil change, and filter replacement. Apparently my car requires a special inspection. I normally go to dealers if the price is fair. But that was way too expensive. And they wouldnt honor their own coupon.Of course I went to Rafi. He explained what the dealer explained about the oil change and inspection. His price WITH the filters: $409 (with genuine bmw parts). Rafi is bmw certified tech. He uses their software and is pretty legit. He uses the computer and seems fairly techy.Then i noticed he also fixes hybrids. My moms car (prius) has been in my backyard two months because all the lights on dashboard would come on (skid control, abs, emergency parking) and the braking was stiff.This problem arose two days after I had it at another tech who fixed another problem where the hazard lights wouldnt shut off. That tech told me that a squirrel chewed up the wires. I found that so far fetched and told Rafi, Who instead of bashing the other tech, actually affirmed it as possible. And opened my hood and showed me a bunch of twigs bunched in the corners of the engine bay: evidence of nesting. I was impressed. Left the car. They diagnosed it. It needed a new abs system. Initially they quoted $2k. They were able to drop $800 off after he called toyota and verified some stuff. Bam. Fixed.Ive been driving the car around for a week. Got it smogged. Everything seems fine.Thats two cars of mine in one month. Im incredibly happy about it. My moms happy. And this dude has totally earned my business.

I had been going her for years to get work done. I used to leave feeling like I was in good hands. Good customer service, friendly, didnt feel like they were taking advantage.Fast forward five years, and Ive just left feeling like Ive been in a wreck. Customer service is still nice but I have now left feeling like a fool twice. But no more. I used to go because theyre Audi certified. A lot of good that does when they refuse to take accountability for their shoddy work.My car was fixed had to come back they claimed it was another leak, despite them doing a complimentary inspection with an oil change. The leak from my OIL PAN wasnt caught until I brought it again. They said I couldnt drive it anywhere so I had to agree to do the repairs there. They were two days late and they offered a large discount that didnt even amount to taxes.Go somewhere else or get a second opinion. If you go somewhere else, make sure its not Pep Boys. Theyre in par with this place.

I would STRONGLY advise against using this mechanic. Unprofessional, incompetent, and incredibly money hungry without any desire to offer proper customer service. Im a car enthusiast and have known a lot of mechanics, but Im not sure Ive ever had a worse experience dealing with a mechanic in my entire life. They gave me an estimate to fix my door lock actuator on my BMW 640i, then by the time they completed the work my bill was more than 3X what was originally quoted. Then in the process they damaged other things inside my car including my garage door transponder, and despite my efforts to call and at least have a conversation about it, all I got was runaround. When I finally connected with the owner, Rafi, he actually hung up the phone on me and said he has to take another call. The owner and staff are incredibly unprofessional! I would STRONGLY advise against using this mechanic if you care about your car or have any desire to get proper customer service.

Their team does an incredible with BMWs. There is no one else in LA that I will bring my car besides Rafis Autotech. They are trustworthy and quickly identify the root of the issue. Rafis has fair pricing and they dont jerk you around. One of the worse and the rudest mechanic Ive ever encounter. The man is a crook. He tells one thing and end up charging you a different price. Whatever you do dont go to him for CA inspection he tells it will pass and you leave the car for 2 hrs and then he tells you it fail and charges you $200 and keeps hovering over you i dont know maybe insinuating a kickback. Rafi is a miserable man.

Better prices and much more convenient location than Keyes Audi in Van Nuys, considering I live in MDR and work in Palms. My wife and I have been taking our Audis there for regular maintenance and random issues on our 2013 and 2015 Q5s.They charge about $150 for a multi-point inspection. I have been offered this service at the dealership for free, but Im very limited on time with my work schedule, which is the main reason why I choose Raffi--for their convenient location.In the past few years, I have gone there for a left front axle replacement, left HID light replacement, and regular maintenance such as synthetic oil changes, tire rotation, wheel alignment, and multi-point inspection.Raffi himself has been there every time I have gone there to service my vehicle. Hes a nice, honest small business owner, and Id rather give him my business than take it to the dealership. It would be nice if they could wash and vacuum the vehicles, but their little shop just doesnt have the space to add that to their operation.I recommend scheduling an appointment in advance, taking your vehicle in the morning, and dropping it off if its a longer service. Get a price estimate in advance too.

Been going to Rafi for about 10years. He’s always been kind and helpful. He checks to make sure the vehicle wont fail the smog check before running the actual test. As a female, I’ve run into a lot of mechanics that try to sell unnecessary services and never once felt like he was disrespectful or condescending. I always forget that my check engine light is on (glow plugs in a diesel… not a big deal in warm weather) and he’s had to remind me that I’d fail smog inspection. I usually just turn the light off and return as soon a the drive cycle is completed. Unfortunately after the vehicle had been sitting for a few years during covid, there were some repairs that needed to be done this time. Sensors, controllers, egr valve. I said I’d fix it at home and bring it back and he was super gracious about it - I’ve had plenty of other mechanics act like there was no way a dumb girl could do her own repairs. Returned a few days later and passed with no problems. I really appreciate Rafi - if there was ever a repair I couldn’t handle or didn’t have the desire to take care of myself, I’d absolutely trust him to take care of it.For the women out there who worry about dishonest/disrespectful mechanics, Raif’s a good one.

The phrase honest mechanic is not an oxymoron at Rafi Autotech. Rafi kindly gave me an email quote without having to bring it in for inspection which was a huge help because I dont have a lot of time during their business hours. He told me that some of the services previous shops has quoted me were unnecessary and that my front mounts werent actually leaking at this time. He didnt upcharge me or just do the services without a real inspection and it saved me hundreds of dollars and the mental energy & stress of getting my car repaired. Ilan in the office is also very helpful. I will be coming back if I need any more repair work done. Brake pads were replaced within 24 hours.

I went in for a smog certification. Not only were they not able to figure out why my car would not pass smog, they installed unnecessary parts on my car without approval first and asked me to pay for installation after the fact. I asked for a refund or discount on parts I did not approve, and they were unwilling to do anything. I feel like I flushed my $700 dollars down the drain.

I have a 2016 Mini Cooper Convertible and I have been going to this place a few times. It’s the only place that I trust to fix my car! The people here are so nice, they make you feel comfortable that the car is going to be fine and they’re not trying to get extra money out of you for something that the car doesn’t need. Best place to get your Mini serviced!!! Wouldnt feel comfortable driving my Mini for long ranges daily if this place doesn’t exist!

I dont typically write negative reviews but I felt compelled to here. I went in for a typical oil change and had made a few other specific request items to be done as well. When I returned and the vehicle was ready I found that I was charged almost double what I usually pay at the BMW dealership and that none of my requests had been taken care of. I am giving 2 stars only because they completed the oil change as requested other than that it was a 1 star experience. Wouldnt recommend.

The service at this place is OUTSTANDING! This is my new go-to car repair. I called Rafi because my 328i didnt pass a smog check and I was on a time crunch to get plates by a certain date and needed a repair asap. He had me come in the very next morning and generously offered to keep my car there while I was out of town for the long thxgiving weekend (free of charge!). When I got back they had already done the smog check for me (at a lower rate than at my other place I might add!) and provided me with the paperwork for the DMV! I cannot stress how accommodating the people who work here are and how convenient they make the whole process! Rafi was extremely communicative, both emailing me and calling me after they had inspected my car and gave me advice on the best deals. He also informed me there was a recall on a part on my car and provided me with all of the paperwork necessary to get the repair fee refunded! I will be trusting Rafi with all my car repair needs from now on and recommend you do too!

Will go again / Price = Average / Service = Above average / Management = Above average / Cleanliness = AverageThis is a review only after 1 service @ Rafis Autotech and can change dependent on future visits. I had a last minute CEL (check engine light) on my Audi A4 around the week after Christmas and paid $1K+ to fix an O2 sensor and PCV valve which seems to be a fair price around the MDR area. As it was the holidays, practically all the repair shops around the area were closed. Thankfully, Rafis Autotech was open! I called last minute and Rafi was able to get me in right away. Although the sensors are not too big of an issue, it can definitely mess with the electronics for newer cars, especially European.It took about 2-3 hrs. to diagnose the car and the parts came in around 1-2+ hrs. from there but the supplier provided the incorrect parts, not Rafis fault if that is the case. Therefore, I left the car for them to get the correct part and fix it the next morning which took about an hr. from when they opened. He uses OEM part as well! Overall, I was highly satisfied with the timing, promptness, and fix. Looking forward to visiting when I need a repair for my Audi.

My first visit with my BMW which needed Smog repair due to failed the test initially at another smog shop which are not BMW specialist and the shop referred me to Rafi Automotive who is specialist with all BMW Diagnostic, Service and repair.The shop did call me with fair estimate which I agree to and all the documentation report was send to my e-mail after few hours the car was ready passed the smog test and I got free car wash and free shuttle. I am very pleased and happy to find this BMW place who was honest,prompt with quality. Thanks and I will be back soon for my regular service.

I know this place for about 10 years. I met the owner in a networking organization that I was a member of. I had a BMW 740 which he handled many times and always on time and done right. Recently he handled a Porsche of mine and the work was done thoroughly as well. I am happy he can work on Porsche since its not easy to find good people to handle those vehicles. My car had issues with smog test. They fixed the issue and passed the smog test (thank you), but charged me $500! No explanation about why such huge charge? What was the problem? How much was the cost of parts, how much for labor? No explanation, just $500. Total ripoff.

I bought a 2013 MINI, and knew it would need a once over. I was grateful that they took me in right away and after looking at it over the morning, thoroughly explained what was in great shape and what was not. Upon pickup, I even got some tips on things like how to change the color of my interior lights. You can tell they love the cars they service and you can bet I’ll be going back there when maintenance is next due. Also, it drove like a gem after their tuneup.

We had an urgent event to go to but the sliding door of the van would not close. We took the van to the shop hoping to get it fixed soon enough so we could still make to the event. I drive a 16 year-old Mazda MPV, and I recently had to get it smogged in order to re-register my license plate. Unfortunately, the check engine light was beginning to light up intermittently at the same time, so I went to Rafis Autotech to check it out. They diagnosed the problem as an oxygen sensor, which in turn caused several categories on the smog check to light up, such as the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) and Catalyst. Rafi took the time to explain what this meant and how to fix it. This took some time, but long-story-short, I had to get my smog retested three times until it passed. Rafi was patient, fair, and right on in their diagnostics. Its a great place. Go in the afternoon, when parking is easier to find.

Rafi and his crew of skilled techs are extremely knowledgeable, professional, and honest. A lot of the negative reviews have been due to poor prior expectations from customers (needing a cheap oil change, not having a warranty to cover extremely expensive BMW parts). I have had over $20,000 of work done in my 2011 F10. All of my estimates have been fair and the work certainly has been cheaper than what I would have been charged at a dealership. Remember people, you have the option to decline work once youve been given an estimate. Do your homework, check bimmer forums, shop around. Youll find no better certified shop in the Westside.

Rafi was very helpful. Gave me a free diagnostics for my car. I found out that I have a recall on my car and will need to have bmw dealer work on it. I also needed a battery for my car but unfortunately won’t be getting it done through him due to pricing. $500 dollars for battery replacement. I am sure I can get this service cheaper elsewhere. So overall, Rafi was very helpful and seem very trustworthy and legit. Pricing might be a little higher due to his location in culver city.

Horrible experience with these guys. My 2006 Mercedes E350 had noise. We brought it in and told to diagnose and fix. They told us they fixed something else for $1700 but the noise was still there. There mechanic then told us to basically junk the car by selling to CarMax because it would be more to fix than cars worth. We had it towed to another shop in Manhattan Beach. They said it was the training and could be repaired. We finally got the car repaired for $2400. Its been performing perfectly for 2 years now. RafI would not refund our money. This place is a rip off. Will never recommend them for anything other than an oil change on a rental car. Disappointing

This mechanic is really great! He really saved my car. I have a pretty old car that Ive put A LOT of money into already. When the check engine light came on, I thought it probably wouldnt be worth it to invest more money into it. So I called around to several places and explained my dilemma. Ronny was very honest with me and explained what I could do. I explained what I was experiencing with the car and he knew exactly what to do. He switched up my spark plugs in about 45 minutes. I didnt even wait that long, and it was pretty affordable. Much more affordable than having to get a new car, thats for sure! I highly recommend Autotech!

CAR MAGICIANS. Ronny and his top mechanic have kept my used 2000 BMW 528i humming along happily since I purchased the car 4 years ago. They have provided thorough estimates and have mapped out a maintenance program for future work. Ive had water pump work, battery, brakes, tune-ups, and some mechanical door repairs -- all performed without a hitch. And they arrange rental cars without hassle or delay. Go here if you want the best quality service outside the dealership. I believe their prices are fair and honest.

I think I eventually paid more than it should be by a factor of 2 if I repair my Mini at somewhere else. When I first visit them, I tell them what I want to repair, and I was noted that the estimation of total is ~200. Soon as I arrive home, I get a bill of >3000 including something else. If I select what to repair, eventually it is ~2500. I feel they want to you keep leave the car there. Why dont they be honest to you at the first place? It would never be ~200.

My car didnt pass a smog here. My mechanic told me rafis autotech wasnt supposed to pass me because my check engine light was on when I came. Thats an automatic fail. The mechanic took my money anyway, did the test and failed me. He said I had a free retest when I get it fix (like ever other smog test place offers). He also offered that they could repair it, but I asked if I could take it to my mechanic. He said yes and they will still do a free retest.So I come back a week later and the owner I believe told me no free retest. They had to fix it themself in order for that deal. So I was lied to by the mechanic. Over something as petty as a smog test. So good luck with the customer service here.

Went to Autocheck to get a check engine light read after reading numerous positive reviews here. They kept the car for a whole day and then told me my car needed over $3000 in repairs. When he told me the price he had the biggest smile on his face that I had ever seen. He said the fault that caused the light was the VANOS solenoid and that it would take 4 hours to change it + $250 for the part.I sourced the part myself for $150 and was able to change it myself in LESS THAN 10 minutes with a simple DIY on the M3 forum.Dont trust these people. They will rip you off.

I came for a smoke check and was so happy with the service that I asked if they can replace my front brakes and change the oil/filter.They call an Uber for me to take me home and when the car was ready they sent me an Uber to pick me up.They were professionals and with a great customer service it was well worth the price.I love good customer service!

Good place to go to when you have one of these Mercedess or BMWs. The people are knowledgeable and service oriented. What I didnt like is that they could not help me with my smog check with out replacing a $320.00 part which may not be their fault but I am not sure if they could not let me get a way with it somehow. I know this place for about 6 years and would recommend it.

Stay far away from this horrible establishment most of the reviews are from their friends and people they pay to write them.I got a oil change and some brakes done and after they fixed my car they took it on a test drive and crashed my car into the street curb and a deep dip.Worst experience ever in my life when it comes to a vehicle the owner is unprofessional and the service is horrible.Take my word for it look elsewhere these guys are con artist save yourself time and money and go to people that Are actually professional And will take care of your property.
