I reached out to this service for my mom after interviewing several other agencies with which we were very unhappy and disillusioned .The response to my inquiry was quick and I spent a lot of time with Linda explaining my moms recent medical issues and her resistance to any in home care. Linda completely understood and went over how our whole family would benefit from their services. This was exactly what I was looking for. We scheduled an in person meeting with my mom and Linda was the person who came out. She listened patiently to my familys expectations for my mom and then heard my moms reasons as to why she does not feel that she needs anyone helping her in her home.Linda explained all of the medical reasons for home care but then continued to tell my mom the emotional family support reasons for it, using her personal experience with her own parents. This was exactly what she needed to hear.I can tell you that although my mom is still resistant to help at home, she absolutely wants to go with Qualicare when she gets ready for it. I feel very fortunate that we have this home care option.

I highly recommend Qualicare to anyone looking for care for their loved one. I had the pleasure of working with them for four months while my mom was staying with me. She is at risk for falling, and needed constant supervision. Qualicare sent out the perfect caregiver for my mom who was compassionate, engaging, thoughtful, and truly had my moms best interests at all times. It was also comforting knowing we had Nurse Linda for any medical concerns, as we did need to call upon her more than once. Steve, the owner, is very professional and a pleasure to work with. I used to work with Qualicare as a caregiver. I like my management team. My boss Steve, Linda, Krystal and his staffs are very kind and understanding. They are always there to help me and give me some advice when I have some questions or some problems. They are very care about their clients and their employees. I like my client and my company but I have to stop working for them because I have to go to school full time for nursing. I have learned a lot from them. For the most part, I like to work with Qualicare because I can choose the time that fit with my schedule because I have kids and its difficult for me to work full time. Qualicare did a fabulous job helping my 89 year old father recover from a broken hip. From the owner Steve down to the care coordinators Bridgett and Amanda and the caregivers themselves, the whole team showed compassion, responsiveness, and understanding. They mobilized quickly to set up my father with two excellent caregivers to come into his home to help with a wide range of daily activities. They helped him through a stressful transition from the skilled nursing unit to home, and supported him throughout his recovery.

I enjoyed working at Qualicare a few years ago but had to quit for health reasons. The thorough training and amount of support they provided gave me a lot of confidence to do the job right. In their training for caregivers, they stress the importance of treating the elderly and physically challenged with respect as they go into the clients homes. Linda Larson, the RN, is careful about matching the right caregiver to the right client after a thorough interview process to find out the clients specific needs. I have since then referred a number of people to Qualicare as I feel the quality of service and care for their clients can make a huge difference in the lives of those who need help in being able to stay in their homes. After calling and talking with several different in-home care agencies, we chose Qualicare North County San Diego to provide assistance for our mother. The team set up a binder that we kept in my moms home where they would jot down pertinent information about what kind of care mom needed on each day, what she ate/drank, assistance to the bathroom etc...they would take her on errands from time-to-time. Each caregiver I had the pleasure of meeting was punctual and professional and attentive to mom. I felt like she was in good hands when she was in their care. Steve and Krystal were very responsive when we had specific instructions or ideas about moms care, they communicated with us promptly and in a professional manner. It can feel hard to find people to care for those we love, I remember feeling especially vulnerable and protective as I interviewed people we were considering and Qualicare did not disappoint. I would seek their services again if the need arose.

Steve at Qualicare has been immensely helpful to my family. We ultimately ended up using another agency only because my mother created a wonderful bond with someone working for another agency, but even knowing that was a possible outcome, Steve assisted us in incredibly important ways. We were really struggling to understand my moms Long Term Care Policy. Before finding Steve, we had spoken with several insurance reps and home care agencies seeking help to understand what my moms benefits actually were. We came away everytime feeling more and more confused. It was exasperating! Finally we found Steve and he helped us in all the ways no one else could. Using a three way call to our insurance provider, Steve advocated on my familys behalf so we could clearly understand moms policy and benefits. Over the course of a couple of weeks (yes, he helped us a lot!) he continued to help us understand payments and claims processing, and complete and submit paperwork. He brought us clarity and peace of mind that no one else could provide, no matter how hard we tried.In the future, if the home care situation ever changes with my mom, I will not hesitate to sign up with Qualicare. Having a compassionate and understanding advocate and translator in Steve is gold!

Steve Kidwell and his Qualicare staff were able to help my family, and especially my elderly father, cope with my mothers long health descent over the past two years. From the early days when we needed a cheerful helper to dress and feed my mom to the latter days of constant bed changing and handholding. Every caregiver was briefed prior to her arrival and was attuned to the needs of both the patient and the grieving spouse.Steve was specially helpful to my father and me in figuring out how to get the best bang for the insurance caregiver buck. He was thoughtful, creative, incredibly patient and had the right amount of people skills that my family needed. When literally out of nowhere, our 92 year old father, who had been living alone and was self-sufficent, began hallucinating and also experiencing wandering at night, we had to get nighttime care - immediately. After researching many companies, talking to his doctors and also to friends who had gone through a similar situation, we selected Qualicare North County San Diego. We met with Linda, their on-staff nurse who came to his house to talk to us about his needs and what they could provide. It was comforting to know that they have a nurse on staff. She matched us with three caregivers who would rotate nights and who were well matched with our fathers personality. They were all very caring and competent and arrived on time - actually early every night. Each shift, the caregiver writes up what went on so that we could see exactly how things were progressing. Over time, we had to transition to more care and Qualicare was able to fill in on additional time slots as needed. They were always available to answer questions and when a caregiver was ill, they were quick to find a suitable replacement. It is a very scary situation to face when your aging parents need help - having literally strangers staying at the house, but the caregivers through Qualicare quickly became like family. Fortunately, we are now at a point where a family member is going to be living with our father so we will only be needing Qualicare to provide fill-in services but we most definitely will be using them when the need arises. I highly recommend Qualicare and Steve Kidwell, the owner and president, and his staff to anyone needing professional and quality healthcare for a loved one.

Our Dad is officially spoiled!My family had to find in-home care for my father who began to have trouble with numerous things. Qualicares staff has come through with flying colors!Nurse, Linda, is absolutely a peach! Compassionate and capable, shes at the ready for what we require. And that means of lot of schooling us on routines and things new to us...always patient and willing to go the extra mile!His caregivers, Abby, Jeanette and Lily (and now host of others) are so dedicated to Dad, providing him with companionship, making tasty & nutritious snacks and meals, helping him get around the house and lots more, right down to all the physical care he needs personally.They truly provide everything...do the laundry, clean his environment, take him to appointments (in the most Covid-careful way!), keep him laughing, and - honestly, bring in the mail & take out the trash!When we needed to add hours due to an emergency situation, the office jumped right on that task and they continue to keep me informed with changes of any kind. Bridgett, Amanda and Markita have been more than willing to answer the call at all hours of the day or night. I highly recommend Qualicare North County. After making the decision to bring in-home care for my mom, my sister and I interviewed several homecare agencies. We knew Qualicare was the perfect answer for our family when we met with Steve Kidwell, Pres/Owner and Linda, the RN on staff. They took their time to explain their program and answer ALL of our questions. We knew then this would be the best fit for my mom and our family. Our caregiver, Ana was a GodSend! She and my mother got along from the very start. They had their routine each morning and afternoon, whether it was making breakfast together or Ana helping my mom with her gardening to watching their favorite shows on TV. Ana made sure my mom was comfortable and most importantly safe. In the end Ana is like family! We had been with Qualicare for a year and a half when my mom passed in September. Qualicare never disappointed us when it came to scheduling or making schedule changes. They have always bent over backwards to make sure any schedule changes were taken care of quickly and when it came time when we needed a 2nd caregiver (Paulette) on the last day before my mom passed, Qualicare was there making sure we had Paulette there to help and assist our family. I really can’t say enough about the caliber of care my mother received from Qualicare. I became my mother’s full-time caregiver upon my father’s sudden death last December. Her middle-stage Alzheimer’s rapidly progressed following the loss of her husband of nearly 61 years, and even though my husband is retired and I work from home, it quickly became apparent that we needed additional assistance here. Initially, we attempted to set up a schedule of private caregivers who came highly recommended by a friend. However, after several missed shifts, I began to research other community resources in North County for help. With the myriad of choices out there, I am so blessed to have happened upon the Qualicare website early on in my search. My initial communications with Steve Kidwell, the owner, and Linda Larson, R.N. case manager, were extremely helpful and reassuring, and we were set up for a regular schedule of daily caregiver visits within a few days. Our caregivers were always prompt, competent, kind, and thoughtful, and no one ever missed a shift. I would be remiss if I did not mention one person, in particular, who consistently went that extra mile to provide loving, attentive care for my mother at all times: Chrystene Muturi made the most of every minute she spent with my Mom - reading to her, looking through photo albums and picture books, taking her for walks, or just sitting on the patio and looking at the plants and flowers, etc. Her kind and gentle manner were soothing to both of us, and I really can’t say enough about how she truly exemplifies what a true “caregiver” should be. I would recommend Qualicare without reservation.

These guys are top notch and we highly recommend them. We hired another firm to care for my mom and after a week of waiting and numerous excuses they never sent a caregiver. We reached out to Qualicare and Steve, the owner, called me personally and had a nurse there the next day and great caregivers scheduled a day or two later. My mother benefitted tremendously from the efforts of the people at qualicare. Nurse Linda was excellent and went over and above what we had expected. The home health aids were very helpful and Cat was able to help with bill paying, hygiene, companionship, and errand running. It was wonderful for my mother to have someone who would ensure she had meals and who took time to recognize that, although my mother was 97 she was still and alert and interesting person. The staff were a tremendous help to me at answering questions and concerns as they occurred. Everyone was patient and so very kind.

I recently was able to sit down and talk with Steve Kidwell. Like many of you, i have aging parents and one with Alzheimer. It is so very hard and overwhelming trying to navigate what options there are based on our needs, finances and circumstances. I have been at a loss for quite sometime now and after discussing with Steve I finally have a direction to go. He was kind enough to listen to my specific circumstance and from there come up with suggestions that would best fit us. We discussed things from day programs and in home care to full time memory care for my dad. He connected me to others organizations that can also help my specific needs. I am feeling so very blessed as now i have a direction to go in. Every person i have come in contact with has been extremely helpful and kind. I contacted Steve as I was doing research for my aunt and he took the time to understand her situation. You can tell he really likes what he does because he mentioned quite a few different community resources that I didnt previously know were available. I didnt feel like I was imposing on him, he was happy to do it! Its nice to know there are people out there who see the big picture, and just want to find the best solution to the problem.
