This place has authentic El Salvadoran papusas. When I went in I tried the bean and cheese, the mix (bean and cheese and pork) and my personal favorite, the chicken and cheese with the curtido and salsa on top. But everything I tried in this El Salvadoran restaurant was great! I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants real papusas. Plus the drinks are good too. Also the prices are easy on the pocket. I will be getting my papusas from here for now on!

One of the smaller places you could go, La Senora (the owner/operator of this restaurant) is always very kind and her food is consistently good comfort food. We have been going back here, often for takeout, for almost 25 years...and we still go back even after moving more than an hour away.

Cash only!!It’s the best Salvadoran food with the exception of my mom’s cooking. We drive from Marin for pupusas revueltas (cheese and pork). The yucca is perfectly fried and we order it with chicharron, fried pork. The pork is a bit salty but so good we order extra.They really take pride in preparing good food.

I tried calling to place an order on the phone, and the person who answered was very rude. Because it was my first time, I asked about the pupusa sizing, and they replied very vaguely and a “stupid question stupid answer” type of response and eventually hung up on me.I proceeded to call again twice and they continued to hang up on me. You’d think that with a recession going on, they’d want business but I guess not. Too bad, I was looking forward to this place as it was recommended to me.

It was the best Pupusa Ive ever had. And I used to drive 45 miles to get them from another place. Flavorful. Generously portioned. Amazing salsa. And the tamales. Never had one in banana leaf. Excellent flavor. And the mask is well seasoned. My new favorite food place.

FUN FACT: If you look closely, youll realize that this place is right across the boxing gym used in the Netflix series, 13 reasons why.But just a heads up, before coming here just know IT IS A CASH ONLY STORE. Be prepared, I came with $40 but only ended up spending $10. Not so bad for 2 pupusas that stuffed me (mind you I had an empty stomach). There is not much parking, they only offer street parking which is limited.Walking in you order & then sit down. The inside looks a bit run down, the area where you dine in has displays that look like they havent been cleaned in awhile, the color scheme seems like I walked into an episode of I love Lucy or pleasantville, but I suppose the adds to the charm of it. The seat I sat by was located right next to the screen door that they leave locked. It was like a movie. The heat from the outdoor creeped into the seating area as the lady walked my order over. I imagined a low rider outside & the voices outside linger in. And in the background, I could hear the grill in the kitchen sizzling.The pupusas were so good. I had planned on eating 5 pupusas but forgot how filling the dish would be. I did not even have a drink to accompany the food. I enjoyed the empty store and took time to look at the artifacts inside the building. I left more than satisfied.

Came here for lunch yesterday based on the recommendation of a friend. I arrived around 1 or so and was surprised I was the only customer in there. I got 3 of the mix pupusas to go. My wait time was very short maybe only 5 minutes. They packed up the toppings for me very nicely. My good was still hot when I got home (about a 10 minute ride) so I was happy about that.The salsa was really good I really liked the flavor of it in combination with the pupusas. Wasnt too spicy at all. The pupusas were nicely filled. They had a lot of cheese though and little more than my taste so thats why i gave 4 instead of 5 stars but overall really tasty. Id be interested in coming back and trying some of the other menu items and definitely enjoying more of the salsa.The staff wasnt overly friendly the woman that took my order didnt even say hi first she just looked at me waiting on me to say what I wanted, Im glad I didnt let this deter me. The man that actually gave me my food was very nice and had a nice smile. Overall, Ill come back.

Moving from a Salvodorean home in LA back to the bay, I hoped to find pupusas and Salvodorean horchata de morro in Vallejo. The pupusas were delicious and although they didnt have horchata prepared, they carry the mix which was great. I really loved the curtido and the salsa as well. My dad tried the pupusa de Pollo con queso for the first time and loved it. I am vegetarian and liked that the lady separated my nonmeat pupusas from the ones with chicken. Great first impression 👍🏼 😀 will definitely tell everyone about this pupusería ♡

Soooo good! I love a good pupusas with the proper meat to cheese ratio. This restaurant did not disappoint. Not only are the pupusas flavorful but the slaw and red sauce explodes in your mouth. If youre in the area its a must!

Damn. Just... damn. This place is a gem (cash only). We got chicharron con queso. Fattest, most tender pupusas weve found in the Bay Area. Absolutely packed with tasty pork and cheese, griddled to crispy brown perfection. Curtido is a little more sour and tender than many others weve had and cuts the grease nicely. We scarfed our pupusas while standing around our car, so we didnt get to try the red sauce. Owner was super friendly and seemed to appreciate that we actually knew what curtido was. Theres an attached convenience market with Salvadoran stuff. Only con is parking can be a challenge. So glad we get to visit Vallejo regularly. We will be coming back for more.

Found this place by chance while in the area over the weekend and I am so glad I did! Was really happy about the vegetarian (and even vegan!) options available, and everything was delicious. Yes it’s been a long time coming and well over due.. I feel so guilty not leaving an honest review because I come here so much. My favorite is the pork and cheese oh my god to die for. I visit almost 2 a week and the family owned establishment is about as authentic as you can get. I recommend if you like great authentic El Salvadoran cuisine then visit here you won’t regret it.

Not too much toj look at from the outside but boy was it well worth walking through those doors. Omar greeted us with a big warm smile and a hello that made us feel most welcome. The food was freshly prepared and very tasty. Great place to eat if you like El Salvadorean food at a great price

30 Years this restaurant has been in business, Amazing! Their business license on the wall proves it and the food is great and shows why they have been around for so long.The staff is very nice and accommodating. I went in and forgot my face mask and they gave me a new one for free. They really adhere to the CDC guidelines, which was comforting to me and made me feel good about buying my takeout food at this establishment.Their menu includes all types of Mexican and Salvadoran food.I had the Carne Asada Plate and my husband the Enchiladas Plate.My daughter had a Chile Verde Burrito and my son a few Birria Tacos.I also like how they have a convenience store next to the restaurant and I was able to purchase an El Salvador Shirt for my son and a Nicaraguan Face Mask for my in laws that were visiting from Nicaragua.My in laws said they loved the Pupusas and Nacatamales they took home to eat.My husband was also able to send money back home through the money transfer services also available at this location.We will continue to come back and recommend this great restaurant to our family and friends.

I got turned on to Papuseria and am truly addicted to the Papusas!! 3 Grandbabies, daughter in law and myself can eat a seriously delicious lunch for less than $20!!They are vegetarian and have loved both spinach/cheese, zucchini/cheese... I go for chicken and always right on point! I do have to say the sauce on papusa is what definitely puts their flavor over the top!! Little whole in the wall, great people, talk quick though if its busy, they got a lot to do there and they get it done fantastically!!

This place is very quaint reminded me alot of back home in El Salvador. Its set up like a corner store/restaurant they sell authentic cheeses and sweet bread. They have a sit down area but they serve the food in paper plates with plastic silverware. As far as the food like the pupusas, chicken tamale and burritos. I would say the chicken is burritos ok. The pupusas have a weird flavor they look amazing but it was very greasy and plain with weird after taste. The chicken tamale tasted weird to me as well. The gentlemen at the front was really nice. Didnt care for the cook at all. The pupusas are about $3.00, $2.50 chicken tamale and super burrito $6.50. So overall I wouldnt recommend this place but to each its own.

The pupusas are super flavorful and not over priced. I eat pupusas at a different area. In order to get here I have to cross the carcinas bridge. I will be making that trip for these super fulfilling pupusas. Found this place by accidentally passing my taco truck. Super worth it.

Was at this restaurant today waiting for my order when I witnessed a guy (whose name I found out later was Jose Mendoza) raise his his hands to a gentleman and then later a lady behind the counter, who were attempting to take his order. This Jose Mendoza guy was foul mouth and loud.I was hoping the police as gonna be called on him because of his behavior towards the staff at this establishment.The people he entered the restaurant with sent him to the car they came in. They also apologized for his bad mouth and bad temperament and continued to shop.I really like the food at this establishment, but feel sad about the staffwho work there and how they have to deal with these people who come and ruin there day with there bad attitudes.

I am not from el Salvador. But from eating at other Salvadorian restaurants. I have to say, this is #1 in my list right now!From the service to the food itself all is a 10.We ordered Nicaraguan Cacao. And it was the best.
