Kathleen was a perfect fit for me. She is capable, confident, and competent. She is also respectful and doesnt push but offers guidance when in doubt. I have had her over twice and I will hire her again in the future. Great experience!

Very helpful in advice and hands on help in major downsizing of a 2700 sq ft home of 35 years to an 1150 sq ft space. Consultants very experienced and support staff in packing and unpacking were most useful. Wendy in particular was outstanding in relating to my needs and gently pushing me through some major decisions and personally hauling away donations etc.

Practical Solutions honestly works miracles. They have filled a niche thats often forgotten...helping with the packing and unpacking that must begin and end a move. My wifes mother is 81 and was moving into Plymouth Village in Redlands. Part of Plymouths service to move her in was bringing in Practical Solutions...and I cannot say enough about how valuable they are to whole process. For us, they unpacked, but they will also help folks figure out what to bring with them when moving into a smaller space than the one theyre used to.Mary Jo was the supervisor, working with another associate named Uyen. Together they were able to unpack my mother-in-laws belongings and get them into place with a grace and a thoughtful touch that was literally the thing that made her comfortable with the new surroundings. We, as a family, couldnt have done it without Mary Jo. Her experience, her understanding and the gentle way she kept the process moving forward made her absolutely invaluable.With the care, the experience and the optimism that Mary Jo brought to the process, Im comfortable saying Practical Solutions made a potentially difficult process work beautifully.

This is a very honest and detailed review. I will break things down to make it fair and easy to understand.We needed our pantry and kitchen reorganized. Cluttered was an understatement.Here’s the good:Very communicative and empatheticIncredibly respectful and friendlyNo judgementDarlene was a special standout. Seemed to understand what we wanted and had a vision in her head to work with.The bad:2 people working for almost 7 hours barely got the pantry completed.($100 per hour per staff person, so $200/hr)We were quoted 10 hours at $100 per hour but were not clearly told that it was $100 an hour per staff person involved. So that was a major point of confusion.The kitchen was untouched. Many items were left out and to be truly honest the pantry organization was lackluster. Yea it’s more orderly and organized but there is a lot of wasted space.The ugly:We were overcharged $300 which was very quickly resolved. Cathy the owner was great and very apoplectic.There was a lot of cleanup after that we had to do.Conclusion: If you need to pay for an organization service, ask many questions. Have a plan. Stay involved to make sure things stay on track.Again, great people. Their service seems better served to mass removals, hoarding nests and major/minor moves.less for smaller home organization projects.

The practical solutions team were an absolute godsend in helping my sisters and I move my 90-year old mother out of her home of 64 years in California and across the country into a senior living facility. They helped with decisions on what to take, packing, arraignment for a shipping company that would have cost us 100’s of hours and much emotional trauma. Not only that, but you can 100% trust them with your lived ones possessions. I can’t give them a higher recommendation!

Dont hesitate; get help from Practical Solutions! Free yourself from the mental constraints of possession attachment by enlisting Cathy and her team of professional organizers. I nicknamed my helper Wonder Wendy because she took two storage units down to one, with walking room and space to add! Then after I moved, I unpacked only to find I didn’t know how to utilize my storage space efficiently and she whipped it into shape! The difference is felt immediately!

This is a great team of organizers. I have gone to Practical Solutions for four different moving projects. Each move was a great success.They are reliable, professional and solutions-oriented. For our first project, back in 2015, they organized, packed and moved all of our items out of an unusually large house. I have gone back to them ever since. I have known the owner of practical solutions for many years, Patty ❤️ who has work for her came to my house this time and it was fabulous. She was very patient as we had to organize and remove items. The room made more sense. The closet was better organized to efficiently get items. After it was done we felt so relieved and we didn’t feel cluttered.and anxious . I was able to get in and out of rooms easier as I do have a disability and my husband was very happy.Thank you team next stop will be the garage in the fall.

My mother recently moved about 60 miles to be close to me and my family. I was concerned because she is 84 and unable to pack her house up. Since I didn’t live close it was going to be difficult for me to help. I found Practical Solutions and what a God sent! They went the Saturday prior to her move and while she sat in a chair Jennifer went through her entire garage. What she decided to keep, trash or donate. Jennifer took all the donations and took care of them. The day before her moving day Jennifer and Kathryn came and packed up her house. Because she had lived in the house for 40 years, I was afraid the emotional strain would be too much to see her things put into a truck. Practical Solutions allowed me to take my mother at the end of packing day to stay at my house for the night. On moving day Jennifer was there to supervise the move. She kept in constant contact. The truck arrived at the new house and Jennifer was close behind. She and Kathryn unpacked everything and put them away. Kathryn even put sticky notes on the kitchen cabinets so my mom would know where her things are. Such a great experience. I would recommend to anyone. Yes they cost more but you get what you pay for. I couldn’t be happier. They were so respectful and kind and did not rush my mom at all but were able to keep her on track to get the job done. I am so thankful for this wonderful company. They made what could have been a miserable and emotional situation into a pleasant one. Thank you also much!

I didn’t really know what to expect when our daughter suggested that we consult with a professional organizer to “downsize” our possessions before we move to a smaller home (i.e. condo, apartment or assisted living). The thought of going through over 40 years of accumulated photos, furniture, clothing, etc.was daunting! The alternative was to do nothing was never an option! Option 2, hire a professional organizer to help us pare down all our possessions in an organized manner. Pattie’s approach was methodical, efficient and kind☝️

I cannot express how impressed and how much of a load was taken off of me with the help of Kathleen. Her efficiency and organizing skills were off the chart. Outstanding Service! I cannot say enough about the help these ladies provided upon my move to the Beaumont area. Cathy consulted with me before my move with downsizing and packing tips. Her coordination during moving day was impeccable. After my movers dropped off the boxes and furniture the Practical Solutions staff arrived and unpacked and organized me in ONE DAY. Yes, ONE DAY! I had downsized quite a bit but their expertise was incredible! To top it off I couldnt believe how kind, caring and fun their personalities were. Wendy and the girls were wonderful 💖. I have a 93yr old mother who lived in her home for 33yrs. She is moving into an assisted living, downsizing was very hard.When the girls came they packed and wrapped. I would recommend themto anyone that has an elderly person who needs to move. Amazing help for a complicated double move. It is hard to express how grateful I am to Practical Solutions for helping our family through an extremely stressful time. We had 2 homes to sell and 2 new homes to move into at the same time. PS staff were kind, patient and practical in helping with essential downsizing sessions. Wendy was especially amazing. She helped mom and dad go through every drawer, closet, cabinet and decide what to keep. PS got measurements of the new house and helped us determine exactly what would fit in the new homes. They helped us find places to donate or sell items we didnt keep. Best of all, they managed both moves out of the old and into new homes 1 day apart. They packed everything, managed the movers on moving day, and came back the following day to cheerily unpack in an organized way. They did not leave a box or piece of tape behind when they left. Time after time, they came when they said they would, were on time, had positive attitudes, handled changes with flexibility, and were open and communicative. Owner Cathy was always accessible to answer every conceivable question or issue that came up, and even calmed me down when I was super stressed and worried. She is the very definition of professional. I cant imagine every doing a move without Practical Solutions. Highly recommend them!

Start to finish the service and attention was outstanding. Most would think the finish would be when the unpacking was done at the new location. Cathy Bates stayed with us until everything was resolve. We had some minor damage to one piece of furniture, but Cathy saw it through to getting us a reimbursement for the damages, nearly four months after our move-in. We would highly recommend this magnificent group of professionals to anyone making plans to move.

Ive been successfully using the services of Practical Solutions for many years to organize the home of my elderly parents, which had become a huge problem in a house that had accumulated more than 40 years of clutter. Before starting the organizing, I was very stressed and depressed about the size of the job and the amount of work that would be involved, since I knew that there was no easy or quick solution because my parents didnt want to simply get rid of everything. To say that the task was daunting would be a massive understatement, since it involved going through rooms filled with thousands of items that needed to be sorted out individually.It was also too big of a job to do at once for my parents, since making decisions about what stays or goes was always a problem for them, so I arranged a regular weekly organizing visit so that the process didnt become overwhelming. Although this isnt the fastest method to organize, its what I knew was necessary to eventually get the process done right without excessive stress. Cathy and Patti were able to work within my requirements and they did a great job. They were reliable, showed up on time as scheduled, and worked quickly and efficiently to complete the job. It was a huge relief for me to get this major problem solved. This literally proved to be a lifesaving venture when my mother experience a stroke later on, since it allowed me to care for her at home instead of using a long-term nursing home. It would have been impossible to care for her amidst the clutter that previously existed. Organizing the home has also prevented them from receiving injuries due to tripping over stuff, which regularly happened before this was done. Hiring Practical Solutions was one of the best decisions I made to prepare for the long-term care of my family and I dont even want to think about what would have happened if I hadnt done this.

Practical Solutions - Cathy Bates and her amazing team came to the rescue this past August/September! After we discovered a family member was in desperate need of our help, my wife and I went into full research mode to find out how to even begin. We found Cathy and her company Practical Solutions after calling numerous organizations and cleaning services specializing in hoarding. Due to COVID and all the closures, restrictions, and limited resources, Cathy actually returned my call. I explained our situation and she sent Patty, one of her team members, right over to access the rental property that was a complete disaster. Even though her team could not take on the job, she offered us hope, assistance and the peace of mind that this can be done. She offered us her knowledge, contacts and referrals in the local area. Once I began calling her contacts and mentioned Cathys name and her company; everyone jumped into action to assist us in any way they could. We were able to schedule Salvation Army for donations, Junk Pick-up & Removal, Cat Rescue organizations, Cleaning Crew, Handymen & more. We were successful in returning the rental property over to the owner quickly and in great condition. Cathy is a very special person and we will always be incredibly grateful for what she has done for us and our family. Facing an out-of-state move after 35 years in the same house, we needed help with shedding stuff and organizing the move. Cathy Bates could not have been more helpful, so much so that we ultimately managed to proceed without actually hiring her. She recommended first-rate auctions, movers, etc. and gave us many other useful suggestions, and armed with this info and encouragement, we feel we can manage on our own. Everything went really well. I truly cannot believe just how much we cleared out and how much nicer it is.We do want at least one more visit but are trying to figure out which area to tackle next and when people can be available.Rina is fantastic. There was no judgment just a willingness to direct and pitch in. I cannot say enough great things about her. She was fabulous in setting immediate goals and baby steps. I never felt any pressure to discard stuff or donate stuff, but Rina was good at asking questions and clarifying actions and results. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They originally quoted me $1500 to organize my house, pack everything up and have it moved. This was to include ALL boxes and packing supplies and delivery of my belongings to 2 different storage sites. I added on 2 hours of help to get a yard sale together. The move day they charged me $2000. They added on charges for every box they supposedly used to pack my stuff, administration fees and extra charges to go to 2 different storage sites. All of this other than 2 hrs of yard sale time was supposed to be included in the original $1500 quote. Now, on to their mistakes....All of my furniture was supposed to placed in storage. They knew I was moving to a furnished apartment. They somehow forgot this and sent my furniture to the wrong place and it got shipped to me at my new place (at my expense, charged by the pound). So I now have a furnished apartment PLUS my furniture that should have never been sent there. Its a disaster. They also forgot to place a large bin with my work clothes in it on the moving truck. I obviously could not carry this with me personally on my move and the bin with all of my work clothes in it had to be left behind with a friend. Oh, and they also randomly forgot to pack up one of the cabinets in my kitchen. They packed up all the other cabinets but forgot this one. Oh, and did I mention that on the moving day I came home to their employee drinking my alcohol out of my refrigerator???? Yeah. So their employee also forgot to tell the moving truck company that I had a pad lock in the office of the storage facility. The truck got there, didnt know about the lock, so they took it upon themselves to buy their own lock and locked up my storage unit, keeping the key. They later mailed the key to me but didnt tell me about ANY OF THIS and mailed it to an address that does not accept mail. If they would gave contacted me about any of this I could gave reminded them about the padlock that I had already purchased that was waiting in the storage facility office for them. Heck, even after that mistake, if they would have contacted me I could have given them an address to mail the key to. Sooooo all of these mistakes arent even my main problem. The attitudeI received from the owner Kathy is beyond anything I have ever seen from a business. She literally said What do you expect me to do about it? when I told her what had happened and Well youll have to cut the lock off yourself regarding them locking up my belongings and not giving me the key. She was INCREDIBLY rude and snotty about the endless mistakes that she and her company made. I asked for $500 back, which is nothing in comparison to the mistakes that were made and the stress that their mistakes put on me. She originally said no to the $500 but later said she would give me $500 back only if I wrote a letter stating that I would not sue her for more. That was the last I have heard from the owner. I am middle age woman that was completely taken advantage of and scammed out of money. I can only imagine what they do to elderly people who are susceptible to being taken advantage of. Please take my advice and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL SCAM YOU AND MAKE HUGE MISTAKES WITH YOUR BELONGINGS.
