Lets talk about Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen on 1st Street in Santa Ana. Now, Im a sucker for good fried chicken, wouldnt turn down a greasy spoon joint if the foods right. But this? This was a grease-stained low point.The place looked like it hadnt seen a mop since Katrina. Sticky floors, a soda machine that could probably synthesize its own biohazard (the pictures prove it), the whole ambience screamed run. The chicken itself? Overcooked, drier than a desert priests sermon. Bland. The kind of poultry that makes you question the existence of a spice rack in Louisiana. Sides? Dont get me started. Instant mashed potatoes that wouldnt fool a toddler, gravy measured out like Scrooge counting pennies. And those dipping sauces? Tiny thimbles you gotta pay extra for, barely enough to christen a single wing.Honestly, the only saving grace was the health inspectors apparent absence. This Popeyes was a gut punch disguised as a fast-food meal. One star, and thats only because the system wouldnt let me go lower. Take your taste buds elsewhere, folks. Youve been warned.The staff was relatively nice. So, kudos there, but they definitely are not instructed to keep the place clean!

Classic Popeyes of course. It’s a franchise, so you expect the same wherever you go. The difference is, the service! The service here was great! Playing fun Creole classics on the speakers to put you in the Louisiana vibe! Tried the wings with the new flavors and the Sweet and Spicy didn’t fail. The mashed potatoes are as always, just yum! The spicy creole flavoring of the gravy just make the potatoes sing! The strawberry biscuit was the literal icing on the cake to finish this meal. The real treat here was the service we received…. Welcoming… Friendly and helpful…. Great Popeyes location.

I ordered mobile at 6pm, set pickup at 7pm. I arrived to store at 7:05pm, and they said I need to wait a minute, okay fine. Then I saw couple customers after me got food. I asked this girl why I didn’t get food and why i have been waiting so long, she said she didn’t know my order. Finally I got my food at 7:40pm. BTW they looked like busy but I don’t know what are they busy for.

One of the rudest chicken places that I’ve ever visited the manager greeted me at the door, telling me I must order chicken before using the restroom. I stared at him for a few moments and told him I would make a report on Google. That’s very rude to do, especially in this part of town where everybody’s got a lot of money I actually owned my own business, and I took it as a huge insult.You can see that, even though they locked away the bathrooms for some reason, the customers come in here and complain, and destroy things probably because of the very poor manners that this man has, and how they treat the customers Needs new management and bathrooms.

The drive thru line was fast, the employees were nice and friendly. The only reason why I’m giving it a one star is because the chicken was rubbery tasted raw, we took one bite and returned it. The managed me looked upset at first but she retuned it after checking the chicken. I’m feeling kinda grossed out since I took two bites since I had to check my son’s meal. They just need to check the chicken a bit better especially when kids and elderly will eat it to avoid getting food poisoning or salmonella.

Very happy and grateful for this Popeyes location. They were even open on Easter Sunday! Everyone was friendly and kind. Despite the busy number of people waiting for food and having to work on a day most people dont have to work, the staff look focused and concentrated. I hope corporate gives these employees a well deserved day of rest for working on a Holiday. My friend shrimp and chicken were on point! :) I will definitely return!

I just want to highlight and appreciate this location for having such friendly and kind staff!I stop to this location on my lunch breaks and it’s usually the same 2 cashiers around 12pm-1pm . Great customer service is rare now a days so I’m taking the time to appreciate. ☺️

Walked in there and saw they wanted $22.00 for just 8 pieces of chicken 2 of which are wings and dont count in my book. 22 bucks for 1 chicken?? Your chicken is good but it aint that good. I walked right back out and went somewhere else. See ya until you either come down a bit or until you get desperate for customers and lower your prices.

Drive thru on a friday night at 9pm was a 37 minute wait and i only counted 6 cars in front of me from when i pulled in. So much for fast food. Definitely go inside around this time. I only saw 4 people order in the dining room.

This place is under poor management ownership. I tried to drink a big beer here, and the manager kicked me out for enjoying myself. It’s too bad because the food here is terrific. However, the management and services is horrible. I wouldn’t come here again simply because he kicked me out, and was very rude and threw an entire scene in front of everybody. Thank God there was nobody there that was actually even eating, however I will just keep my heads up and know that this management is very rude and doesn’t deserve to own the business.
