A billion stars for this vet. My 15 year old husky, Heidi, was on her way to the rainbow bridge today. The vet was getting ready to close but they remained open to help Heidi across the rainbow bridge. The staff remained to help and the owner herself helped bring Heidi into the vet and helped her pass.The staff is very loving, sweet, kind, and amazing. You cant go wrong bringing your fur baby to them. The owner gives very good and comforting hugs.

This clinic and its staff are unbelievably kind, attentive, caring, and extremely knowledgeable. Ive had many sour experiences with vets in the past, so when it came time to take my boy cat Butters to get a check-up, they fit him in within a couple of days.It turned out to be a pretty serious visit, and Dr. MacQueen and her assistants did an amazing job informing me of what the issues were, what caused them, and exactly the steps to take to going further.Butters stayed overnight for three nights, but I was able to visit him on occasion in a private room, and we were rest assured that he was well taken care of.I HIGHLY recommend this clinic to anyone in the area looking for a long-term vet for their furry loved one.

Great customer service ! Always friendly and personable. Everyone genuinely cares about the well being of your pet. My cat and dog are completely at ease during visits because of the gentle care and approach they take when greating us. The atmosphere is calm . And everyone is helpful as well as professional. The prices are also great .

Weve been going here for years. We recently relocated and attempted switching vets for a shorter drive. We quickly realized how much we appreciate Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic. No switching vets for us! Its worth the drive. Weve always been treated kindly and with compassion. Plus, most importantly, our animals do great here.

Had to put my dog down today as bad of the experience that is the staff at this place was wonderful. This is not my regular vet. Mine was too busy to get me in. They recommended Pleasant Valley veterinary. The doctor and the front staff were so nice. They first gave her a sedative and she fell asleep. I felt so at peace, knowing that she would not even know what was going on because she was sleeping.

I have Vet work on Horses, Cattle, Dogs, and other animals.Im also a EMT.I was looking for a Vet I could trust, not a rush in rush out Vet that just takes your money.I was recommended this place.I have some puppies that has a skin condition, I figured Ring worn.The puppies at the time just 6 weeks old, two had the condition, so brought them both in with a pet carrier.I right away received an attitude from the front desk person like I was trying to get away with something avoiding two visits charge.Come on best to bring in two little puppies, compare condition.A little short visit and some cheap medications, with a wait for lab results for second puppy they used for skin culture, they charged me $500.Ridiculous.Follow up they want to purchase more medications and more visits.Nope, to pricy and just what I was worried about, more concerned about money than helping.

They take great care of all of their clients.Im 40 yrs old now, but I remember Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic taking care of my pet rabbit, when I was about 6 yrs old. And many other pets there after. Now I run a dog boarding facility close by, Placerville Dog House, and Im glad to see the pet clinic is still there and doing well.

My 12 year old Labrador had a piece of a nylon bone get stuck in the back side of his throat and was in distress. I took him to my vet for urgent care and the facility was closed due to Covid.I called Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic to see if they could assist with the problem. Literally, they took Cash into surgery and removed the object in less than one hour. Cash is home resting comfortably as I write this review. Doctor Johnson was amazing and went far beyond the immediate emergency. He thoroughly examined Cash while he was under sedation for other geriatric conditions. Heck, they even trimmed his nails.I am soooo appreciative.Thank you!

Ive used this vet clinic for years, things have changed.Had a terrible experience with a newer vet though my appt. Was with vet I knew. New owner and vet basically told me your dogs gonna die if we dont perform this high risk operation now, big bucks. Well partner on the dog and I said well research it, No your is gonna die, no other treatment!Shell be steril. Owner called me a breeder in a negative way. I schooled her on the dedication of AKC owners, we aint breeders we show we compete we carry on known characteristics of dogs. Dang woman, you serious?!Well ran the girl down the hill to certified vet in these matters. Turns out they misread the altra sound, mis diagnosed treatment and wanted a risky expensive op leave her starile. Well other vet set us on apath to healing our heeler. It worked at one 6th the cost. They overcharge and sharing my experience with friends and neighbors they all said yah they aint who they used to be overcharge we dont Go There no more.

I absolutely love this vet! I was so worried bringing my little dog Izzie into the vet but the second I walked in they made us feel welcome and in good hands. The vet was the best vet ove ever had, he was kind and personable and made us feel at ease. Even my dog, who usually will try to anyone she sees(chihuahua anyone else) nearly instantly took a liking to him. He knew exactly what the problem was and assured me Izzie would be fine within a week and she was! Then 2 weeks later we received a Christmas card in the mail with every single staff members signature and welcoming us, it was very kind and thoughtful of them. My mom will be bringing her dogs and cats here and I know Ill bring Izzie back for years to come! Give this place a try they will take good care of you and your furbaby.

I have 2 huskys and they constantly get into mischief.This clinic is by far the best Ive been to. And I shop around alot lol.Gotta find the right fit you know.From rattle snake bites to blockages and vaccines to neutering.They have taken amazing care of my dogs when things looked bad and just when they needed they checkups.Couldnt be more pleased with the service, professionalism, and overall etiquette of the whole staff.You wont go wrong bringing your furry friends here.

We recently moved to the area and it was very difficult to find a vet clinic that would take us on. Our dog was 12 years old and we felt that added to the complication of finding a vet that would be willing to see us. Appointments were weeks out. Emergency appointments hard to come by.Pleasant Valley took us on within 24 hours. Our Harley was declining and we needed to figure out what was wrong with him so we could get him the care he needed. Dr. Hamilton and his staff at Pet Valley were caring, very informative and did an excellent job consulting with us. We ran some tests and assigned a care plan as best as we could.Unfortunately we decided to do what is best for Harley 4 days later. His decline was more rapid than any of us could have anticiapted. We would have used Pet Valley if it would have not been on a Sunday (they are closed and deserve rest). We would go back any time. The clinic and staff cares about our pets.

I had 4 dogs and pleasant Valley pet clinic took great care of my fur babies.We lost one to old age a few years ago.Then we lost the 2nd one to Brain tumor, 3rd one lost to old age.We have one left.We moved here in 2004 and started going to pleasant Valley pet clinic and weve been going there ever since.We love the staff💖They are always good to us and our pets.

Ive had pets all my life but just when you think you know it all...you move to a new to the area and get 2 pups from another coast. The staff at Pleasant Valley has been so great and really knowledgeable. Prices are reasonable, hours are very accommodating, care is as comprehensive as you want it to be and they have a lot of experience with a variety of pets and regionally specific issues.

Absolutely amazing. Saved my dog Bees life after being completely misdiagnosed by Shingle Springs Veterinary Clinic.. They had great communication, awesome customer service and knowledgeable staff and vets all around. Bee is now resting at home with the proper diagnosis, treatment working, although he has a long road ahead of him and he seems much more comfortable. Thank you sooo much to Dr.MacQueen and other staff who worked to keep our dog stable and getting him home to us safely! 100% recommend!!!! If I could give 10 stars, I would! You all are awesome!!!

Needed to establish a veterinarian since moving to Pollock Pines. I took our dog to Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic to have his teeth cleaned. Also to have a mass on his chest looked at. He ended up having to have a few bad teeth pulled and the mass was sent for biopsy. The whole experience, especially with Covid, was very pleasant. The staff is very caring. The surgery was followed up with phone calls to check on our dog.Very happy to have chosen Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic ❤

When we took our cat to be put down by this vet, they said that they needed to put a catheter in him to make things easier and when we asked if it was painful to do so, they assured us it wasnt. My niece could hear him screaming from the front office. When I asked them what was happening she was told they had already given him a sedative because he was being aggressive.. This was an 18 year old cat who was dying. How aggressive could he be? And if he was, maybe it had something to do with the fact he was getting a very painful catheter put in just to be put to sleep. Nobody in our family will ever use this vet again.

The best! Did not want to dig on our pockets to find out what was going on with our dog, not a lot of unnecessary tests, changed diet and bravo! IBS is all! She went through all that with last Vet. Then the whole staff send a get well card all hand signed by the staff! So caring and called for follow up! We had to move or still be going there.

This is a great doggie, feline and other animal clinic nestled in the beautiful Pleasant Valley area of El Dorado county.. We actually drive up from Rancho Cordova(we use to live up in area) The staff are very friendly caring ppl working with skilled and experienced doctors.. Highly recommended. They are great. I had a problem puppy who had very unique health issues. Dr. Jackett helped me every step of the way including spending lots of time with me on the phone. Its very possible my puppy wouldnt have survived some of his issues without Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic. Now hes a healthy 2 year old!!

My sweet Cavalier, Gracie, has had more than her share of health issues. Most recently she was diagnosed with diabetes (last year it was an abdominal rattlesnake bite !). With all of the pokes and uncomfortable treatments, Gracie still wiggles with delight to see the entire staff there. Their kindness extends to the parents too. Explaining Gracies treatment plan and answering my myriad of questions helped to set my heart at ease. Thank you all for caring as deeply for my fur babies as I do.

My family has been taking all of our animals here since we moved to Placerville nearly 15 years ago. Recently, my beautiful cat of almost 20 years passed away from natural causes. She was the last of the pets to still be living; she had developed hyperthyroidism towards the end and was taking medication provided by the clinic. I was away at college during some of this time and was always concerned for her health, but my father always assured me the clinic was taking care of her. Indeed, when I was in California and took her to the vet, they were always so familiar and loving towards her. When she passed, we requested she be cremated and that we get a clay paw print (she had thumbs!). Her cremation was taken care of through a pet cremation service in Sacramento, and her paw print at the clinic. Upon receiving both, I immediately started crying, they both had so many loving and personal touches that really showed how much they cared. I cannot begin to thank them enough for all the loving care they provided for all of our animals over the years, and especially the care they showed my baby at the end. Wonderful people work at this clinic, I cannot recommend them enough.

I have had bad and good. One visit one of the nurses poked my dog like 20 times . She went from leg to neck trying to get blood. I asked why do you not let someone else do that. Then they took my dog in back room. My poor dog . Then I also had to have another dog put down and they came outside to truck to do it. I was crying my eyes out. They gave her shot then walked into back gate and started laughing. I have been buying my medication there 2 years ago it was $28. Then 2 months ago it was $32. Today its $58. I said that must be wrong . She asked ; oh no it was right. And gave me a run down that there price went up. I went on internet $14.40. Now you know they buy in bulk and get for alot cheaper than that. I felt like they were robbing me without a gun. Im done with this place. I feel they are out to make as much money as they can . And dont care for animals welfare like they put on. Doctor Johnson has always been good to me . But Dr. Jacket and 1 other are not good in my eyes.

I have been taking my animals to Pleasant Valley Pet Clinic for 22 years. I started with a middle aged Golden retriever and cats and have since had a litter of pups, more Goldens and more cats. Had no problems for years, now office manager making executive decisions that ruin client relationships. Sad, really. Took my cat here due to an ulcer on her lip that was infected. They took her into the back back room where they supposedly tested her for aids and leukemia, both came back negative. They came into the room and told me that they were gonna run a CBC test on her and let me know. After about 30 minutes the doctor brought my cat back in and told me that the CBC test came back negative so they went ahead and gave her a steroid injection. Without consent. They then billed me and snuck me out the back room. I knew my cat needed antibiotics and they never mentioned it at all. 250$ later they told me she would be better within 24 hours. Which wasn’t the case. I took her to another vet to get a second opinion (placerville pet clinic- THE BEST VET CARE IN PLACERVILLE) Placerville vet clinic called to get records of what they did on my cat. They refused to send them. Long story short- they didn’t give me any care instructions nor did they give me true reasoning behind what was going on with my cat. The doctor had no knowledge of Rodent Ulcers. Google told me more. They only get one star because I had to in order to leave review

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Jackett and her staff for several years, and I wouldnt take them anywhere else. They treat my animals like family, giving them the same love and attention they would their own pets. I wont go into the details on the illnesses and injuries our kids have encountered over the years, but when something happens, I always take them to Dr. Jackett and Dr. Carlson and know they will get the best care. You know youve taken your pets to the right place when your dogs happily greet the staff and doctors at the clinic!

If you are looking for a state of the art clinic with a heart of gold, look no further. I run a rescue as well has have personal pets. The staff at PVPC is always there to help. They support our rescue, recommend it to people needing to rehome an animal or looking for a new friend. Plus they are caring and spoil my own fur kids rotten. It doesnt get better than this. They had already seen my daughters dog and prescribed flea meds. When she told them she needed to have A REFILL, the office staff told her the dog had to be seen by the vet again and PAY $45.00 for office visit !! Thats unacceptable in my book. They dont seem to care that the dog is being eaten alive by the fleas. He JUST NEEDED A REFILL !!!
