Since our local Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse was closed down last year. We were heartbroken because of the great dining experiences we had there. Today we finally took a drive to the closet Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse to us now. It is in San Dimas, and oh boy! We weren’t disappointed this location has a stunning picturesque backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Cowboy decor was just as pleasant as the Colton location, we were blessed to have our waitress Sunflower who worked at the Colton location serve us. Sunflower was very kind, friendly and knew her job! The food was delicious just as we remember it, with a tweak we were able to order a Full-Rack-of-Ribs 1/2 Pork & 1/2 Beef and my all time favorite The Trailboss Porterhouse Steak! Yum! need a great Steak and Ribs meal? Definitely give Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse in San Dimas a try!

Love this restaurant. Love their atmosphere and ambiance. Love their decor. Food is excellent. Homemade salad dressings. Center cut top sirloin was a hit. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. Beans and corn are awesome.Our server Walker was great. Nice guy. He was friendly and prompt. He made our dining experience a pleasurable one.I recommend this restaurant. We will be back for more delicious food and great service.

Ive heard a lot about this restaurant,so we decided to try it and we loved it. The food was absolutely delicious the prices are very, very reasonable and the drinks are nice and strong. The margarita martini was delicious. My husband said he would wear a tie next time. If you wear a tie, theyll cut it. This place is fun and family-friendly . We will definitely be back for some good food and strong drinks. Make reservations this place gets packed.

Atmosphere is always top notch. The patio outside is beautiful, nice green grass, along with picnic tables. Once you go in there is a saddle for a quick photo op. It is a bit dim in there. The food is amazing and cooked to perfection. Their complementary bread and apple butter is amazing. Definitely a great place for a steak

I love this place!! Not super easy to find quality steak and ribs. Service is fantastic and drinks are strong. More of a causal vibe but you feel at home. Filet and Ribs are my go to. Can’t believe this place was right down the street from me this whole time.

Waited and hour and a half to get the runs. It was an awful experience. Watery beans. Super small salad and super small 16oz rib eye. We wont be coming back here again. Weve all agreed it definitely is not worth the time or money spent. Employees are super nice. But 1 star for the food.

My family and I celebrated my daughters first communion at PP this Saturday and we had the pleasure of having Whiskey (Kimberly) as our server. She is the ONLY reason we will be coming back (yes the food is good too lol). Whiskey was attentive, energetic, and genuinely kind. Love Pinnacle peak! It has been a family favorite for years. We use to go to the one in San Diego but since that is shut down, we decided to travel here. It is during a pandemic so we had to eat outside but it was decorated like we were really in a barn or at a farm. How fun!Firstly, our whole table ordered cow girls. Which we all enjoyed. Prices are decent. They have a Google choices Google choose from. Huge piece of meat, sides were big too! They bring out bread and salad before our actual meal so that was nice.Our waiter was very nice and you can tell she cares about her job. Good service all around.The only thing I can consider a con was the table was a little bit wobbly. I understand it was outside (basically the parking lot) so it was very uneven. They did switch our table. Very nice of them.All in all, what a wonderful time we had. The food was delicious, memories were made. The vibe was good. I hope this place stays open, it is sentimental to me and my family.

Very friendly & prompt service. One of our steaks was cooked just right and relatively tender. The other steak was tough& leathery (cooked right) but portions too tough to chew/swallow 🫤Their new cauliflower dish is not worth ordering - - especially for the price. Not sure if we will return - in general, streaks are not that affordable & deserve TWO Satisfied customers when we order an $90+ dinner.

Seated right away, without reserving ahead of time. Arrived at 6pm on a Thursday.Placed our order approx 5 mins after seated.:*Drinks arrived 4 mins later*Dinner salads served about 4 mins after drinks* Entrees (1) Filet, mashed potatoes & veg(1) Ribeye & baked potatoWifes filet cooked to proper tem (M/R).Good flavor, tender & went well with the sides. Sides were average, but not bad.My Ribeye was the highlight of the night.VERY flavorful and cooked to exactly the perfect (M/R).My baked potato was terrific, with all the trimmings!Salads 1/ranch & 1/blue cheese were spot on. Perfect, slightly generous portions, chilled properly and elevated with their in-house dressing. An iceberg mix, chopped to a medium bite size.I gutted the heck outta that baked potato, scraping all the way down to the skin.Wifes tried tasted the ribeye and agreed it was more flavorful than her filet mignon.We did not have any dessert, as our bellies ran out of room.Overall:A fairly decent experience at an old style steakhouse. No frills location. Standard tables with checkered red & white tablecloths, accompanied by standard folding chairs.I may return for another round, but wifey said it would be a soft pass on chances of returning.Thank you for the wonderful experience.Pre-tip bill came out to $104.So, even with a 20% gratuity, it was a very inexpensive dinner.

Im a carnivore these days and eat nothing but meat. This sounded like the perfect place and since we hadnt been here in a while, I figured this was going to work out well. While the service was fine, I was a bit surprised that this place is still open. Its been there really long time but the food was so mediocre and still quite costly which left a bad taste in my mouth for sure. There were four of us. My kids ordered as kids do, my wife shared everything and I ordered the cowboy steak. My meat was tough and overcooked, the others were not impressed with their meals and the bill was crazy high. Needless to say we wont be back soon. Hopefully others have a better experience.

We were taking a drive admiring the city. We were hungry, and we came by this restaurant. BBQ ribs sounded great for me and hubby wanted a good steak. BBQ ribs were so so, wasnt to fond of the bbq sauce. The beans i didnt like, to me i felt it was over seasoned with what tasted like oregno. I ordered Corn bread, again sorry. I wasnt a fan of it. Tasted like a flour cake with dried pieces of corn. The only side order i liked was the green beans.When walking into the restaurant, was like walking into a dark cave. Every surrounding that I looked around me were these ties. I asked the waitress what was up with all these ties. She said, Cowboys dont wear ties. If you dine in with a tie it will be cut off. 😅 Really? Yea, unfortunately I wont be coming back. Place needs lighting, very out dated. My waitress was very nice and sweet. Too bad my food wasnt. Guess Lucilles will be my place to go. 🤷‍♀️

Went In for dinner for my friends birthday. The parking was a mess because the spaces are so limited and they are on uneven ground. We were seated at some sort of communial picnic bench near other customers. Looks like they try to squeeze the restaurant to compacity in order to sell more, but it comes off as cramped and smothered. We ordered our food and waited, while we waited some bread and butter was left for the table. The bread was dry/untoasted, and the butter had no flavor. I ordered the tri tip burger and was disappointed with the presentation. The burger was deconstructed and had NO sauce. The Buns that they used for the burger were SO dry, and the only saving grace for the meal was the actual steak patty, which was cooked perfectly. I was also expecting my burger to come with a side like a baked potato or fries, and all I got was a kid size bag of lays. Definitely would recommend going to a different steakhouse.

The flat iron steak was ridiculous. So flavorful. Beans packed such a dope kick, and the three cheese cauliflower is fantastic too. The concept isnt for everyone (myself included), and its pretty much just the steak and beans that make it worthwhile, but theyre so good that you really cant hate. If you go and arent really about it at first, just get a flat iron steak. Youll feel better.

As expected, this place never disappoints. Really nice old western look inside and they cook the steaks proper over an old school fire pit grill in the open so people can see the food being cooked. Bring an old tie so they can cut it off you and pin it to the wall along with thousands of others. Service was good and food was accurate as ordered.

Awesome Steak House, if you want a laid back atmosphere and a lot of fun this place is GREAT! I grew up in Azusa and as a kid we visited this steak house on special occasions, we just visited my brother and sister and took my husband for the first time and, of course had him wear a tie! they will ring the cow bell and cut it off and hang it on the wall just part of the fun! If you have never been, the tie is a must! what a way to surprise someone! Lol...Just go and enjoy! Casual Attire no need to dress up. The only issue I have, is that I noticed in one of the pictures of them grilling the food is, they have a drink on the plates we eat off of, not very sanitary!! Also trash cans are pretty close to the dishes and grill also! Over all, will always go back and enjoy a great dinner and some great fun!!!

BBQ pork ribs were disappointing, they lack seasoning.Homemade Italian dressing was very good. Nonetheless this place needs to improve the overall dining experience and taste of food.

This was my first time at Pinnacle Petes. We took 7 relatives fro. Michigan with us. My husband has gone to this restaurant in Colton several times, so this was his first time at this location. The food was excellent, the server not so much! She forgot our appetizer. We never did get it. She forgot my potato salad. I ended up getting it to go. We even had to wait for almost 15 minutes to get our bill paid. Most of our party went outside and two of us stayed inside while we waited for our server to come back to settle our bill. She passed by our table 4x before she finally came to take our money.The restaurant was out of a lot of their steaks. We were told they sold out over the weekend, but it was Tuesday...youd think they would have more in by then. The food was awesomely delicious, tho.We loved their tie gimmic. That was very neat. If you are a first timer make sure to wear a tie and watch out for your free ribs.

Quality steak house, amazingly attentive service, delicious food, every thing they do has me coming back again and again. My usual favorite is the cowboy or trail boss. My wife tried the pomegranate sangria, which she loved. Decent beer selection, and good selection of sides. I tried the mesquite asparagus, and it was very tasty.

We have been going here for over 50 yrs. this is the first time I have been disappointed. The cowboy steak costs $49.00 now and is much smaller. Also half of the steak was mostly gristle. The ribeye steak, $43.00, was cut so thin 1/4 in. thick. Ask for medium rare and it was past medium, very dry. Sorry we wont be back. Wont recommend any more.

When in San Dimas you must try it. I had the Salmon it was cooked to perfection and served with a sweet glaze on the side with your choice of baked potato or beans. This place used to be great!!! It has sure changed. The steak was tough to chew. They replaced it with rib eye steak it wasn’t all that better. The bread was cold and looked like it came out of a wonder bread bag. I wanted a shot of Blanco Tequila for my Birthday and they will only put it in a margarita I said I’ll pay for the margarita but I just want the tequila they wouldn’t do it separately!! Made no sense. Our waitress Annie Oakley very accommodating and made the whole experience better. 100. $$$ not worth it.

This was our first visit to Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse and it will be my last. We met up with family visiting Southern California from Oregon. Our visit was at 1:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon; upon arrival the hostess was not at all friendly--Seemed like she was mad about something...Other patrons openly commented about her poor attitude. Our visit didnt get any better from there; the waitress didnt come take our order for a good 15 plus minutes. And she refused to take our drink and food order together; she insisted on getting our beverages first, then left and came back 5 minutes later to get our appetizer order, then left again, and finally took our food order. The appetizers and food took a long time to come out and it wasnt worth the wait!!! The appetizers (tater tots) were cold and tasteless...Im guessing from bulk, old frozen. As a steakhouse, they really need to master the art of grilling a steak!!! It was shoe leather at best!!! Everything is overpriced here--Save your money and grill at home!!!

Whelp if youre going to Pinnacle Peak you should have an idea what youre getting into. The place is a steakhouse, and not the fancy kind youre gonna spend $100 a steak at. They are known for cutting ties off and stapling them up on the walls. So if you like a little bit of spectacle and fun, then wear a tie (preferably one that you dont care for). We had my moms birthday dinner here and there was 9 of us. Unfortunately we had to wait a bit since there was a large table of 45 or so off a tour bus that kinda clogged things up. However, when they sat us down the waitress and cook brought us some free baby back ribs as an appetizer apology that was very nice. The waitress was a professional and took care of us. Drinks were all on point. Food came out in a timely manner. My wifes steak came out a bit rare, when she ordered medium, but it was taken right back without complaint and brought back properly cooked. If you decide to go, just know that these steaks are not top notch expensive cooked in a skillet with garlic and rosemary. This is cooked on an open wood charcoal pit that you can see when you are walking into the place.

For a Thursday night, it was crowded and the restaurant has the ability to seat large parties which is a plus. The kitchen has a window and you can watch the chefs grill your meats. I ordered the cowgirl which is a t bone steak with salad, beans and bread. The salad was fresh, simple but good. The beans were ok but could have been a little more flavorful and the bread was fresh and tasty served with plenty of butter. My steak was good sized, cooked just right and was flavorful but tough in some places but overall pretty good. I also tried the ribs which were very good, tender and nice BBQ sauce. We also tried the cauliflower with three cheeses and I found it to be very rich and oily from the cheeses. The restaurant is a little dark which lends itself to a nice ambiance. First time, so so casual and the menu is simple. The wait staff pick a western theme name! Our server was Buttercup! So cute. We went for lunch I decided to play it safe and got the western bacon cheeseburger. It comes with a good portion of the potato salad, which is by far the best I have ever tasted! I loved it! We tried the baby back ribs and the flavoring and meat tenderness, just melted in your mouth. Definitely getting that again! The cowboy beans were also delicious because they season it with lots of oregano. A different twist! They dont offer French fries but the do have tator tots even though its not on the menu. I asked why and Buttercup says because there is no room in the kitchen for a fryer. The place is decorated with cutoff ties and they sang their happy birthday song to a person who was having a birthday and they also had someone wearing a tie and have a little spiel about that too. Real cool place and I cant wait to go back. Oh the pricing on the lunch menu is fantastic but dinner menu is a little bit more because they offer more items with the meal. What a great location. We have been trying to go for months and we finally made it. It was really busy because they had a couple of large parties. The staff handled it beautifully. We had a forty minute wait so we went to the bar. Mustang helped us out. We had the red rising a beer the nectar Rita which was not very good and a cookie dough martini that was delicious. The bread was not great kind of like sliced bread out of a bag it wasn’t warm and didn’t have a whole Lotta flavor. The beans had a little bit too much rosemary for my liking but I’m sure most people love it. Buttercup took our order and seated us because snakebite our waitress was busy helping other people. Snakebite was amazing she was so cool and so sweet and just on top of everything making sure we had everything that we needed. The location is super cool with the ties all over the place we got to experience two people get their ties cut off when was a kid and he was so excited. The kitchen is open so you can walk by and you can check out them cooking your food which I thought was really nice. Although they were busy the staff was really attentive to everybody’s needs and really nice nobody seem to be complaining about anything and everybody seem to be enjoying their food. I have gone to this restaurant a few times over the years since the 1960s. Most recent about 3 times over the last 4 years and I will never go back. Only once did I get a steak that was good. My most recent experience on Sunday in March of 2023 was awful. My wife and I ordered their center cut aged corn fed 10oz top sirloin steaks and mine had so much grissle and fat it was not fit to eat. I ordered mine medium as did my wife. When we got our steaks they were both very rare not even close to medium. My wifes was so rare she had to send it back full well knowing it was going to ruin her steak. When she got her steak back it was more on the order of medium but dried out and she commented that it had no flavor. When they returned her steak, they also gave her a complementary half sab of pork ribs. I think that was because they could see that her steak was so rare they must have felt bad. Well, she offered me one of her pork ribs and hostely the rub they used was so salty neither her nor I could or would eat the ribs. They were the worst pork ribs we have ever tasted. My uncle ordered their largest steak and my aunt ordered the filet mignon both rare. They were both happy with their steaks and had no complaints.In retrospect, I think I just got a bad steak with grissle and fat. I think my wifes steak would have been good if it were not served so rare (and I mean rare) when she ordered it medium.Again, this is the second time I have ordered a steak their that had so much grissle and fat it was really not fit to feed a dog.When ordering steaks and paying the prices they charge you should be receiving a quality steak and it should be cooked close to what you ordered. Our steaks were not and as a result we will never go back.This is the first time I have ever written a review for a steak house. I have received a few bad steaks in my life as I am 74 years old but none that I can think of even close to how bad my steak was on two occasions at this restaurant. It had so much grissle and fat for a corn fed aged steak it was awful. We will never go back.

The steak was flavorless even when I asked them to add extra seasoning. The service was good, the beans were great. I make a better steak on my cast iron in my kitchen at home. Im not sure what grade of meat they use, is it certified Black Angus it certainly wasnt Double R Ranch. Im sure it was some value steak they have delivered from Cisco.

I am happy to report that after 50 years of dining here, the menu may have changed a bit and no more doggie bag menus, but the steaks are still the best around. Melt in your mouth deliciousness makes this carnivore happy every time.

As much as I wanted to love this place I was disappointed. It was my birthday and I wanted a good steak. As I travel a lot and have had steaks from Australia to Vancouver,I know what a good steak should taste like. Sadly this was not anywhere near the level of a good steakhouse. I ordered the filet as this is my go to for any steak house. The filet was cooked properly, but was lacking flavor and was even a bit tougher than I would have expected. Many chains serve this quality of steak so this was why I was disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but for the price it should have been a better quality piece of meat.The staff was friendly and the decorations were eclectic. The cut ties hanging everywhere say casual dining. Seats were about as comfortable as any park picnic table and looked like it. Like Clearmans, this is another place I dont taste the appeal.

I have been going to Pinnacle Peak is seems like forever. Great place for a good steak. You can now eat inside or outside. They were hurting during the Pandemic but it looks like business is picking up again and I am glad for them. Its a good place to take the family and friends. The menu is basic but good. I highly recommend it.

Todays visit was a very good experience. This is one of my favorite places for a steak. My steak was cooked as ordered. My friends entree a combo plate of chicken and ribs was also delicious. Service was great and our waitress was very attentive. Ill definitely keep coming back.

Excellent food. Very good service. Country style family style setting. Nothing fancy here. A place to come with family for a simply great meal. Prime rib and Cowboy steaks where excellent. Prime rib was the tops. If you wear a tie watch out it will be cut off. Yea I said cut off. Cut off ties are hung up as a trophy.

This is a fabulous establishment in San Dimas. The service goes above and beyond expectations. I love the trail boss steak. I ordered one my last visit. The server came back to my table a little while after ordering and brought a half rack of ribs due to a problem with the order. I was shocked because I figured due to the size of the steak it would take a lot longer to cook. When the steak arrived i took that first flavorful bite sheer ecstasy. Then i started cutting the steak and the server was walking by and stopped me and said let me take that steak back to the cook it wasnt cooked to what i ordered. It was a little more red than medium. I was shocked that she even took the time to observe that my steak was cooked right rather than asking. Considering how busy it was. This is the type of service every establishment should strive for. After she brought the steak back perfectly cooked might i add. We ordered desert cheesecake my favorite. I requested my check. When i looked at the check my steak wasnt on it I called her over to tell her that I think there was an error. She then told me that due to the problem with the steak she talked with her manager and they didnt charge me for my dinner. She did this without me complaining. I was already satisfied and happy but this over and beyond service secured my business for life. I also left her a tip in the original amount of my steak to show my appreciation for her outstanding service. Thank you Calamity Jane you are the waitress that everyone deserves. Also thank you Management for looking out for the customer and superior training of your waitress.

A GREAT steak house! Great tasting grilled steaks are as good as they get. Grill marks and char grilled taste. The different waitresses that we have had have all been really good. Snake bite was the last waitress and she was perfect. I do wish that they served steak fries but, alas, I saw that they did not have a deep fat fryer...Oh, yes, dont wear a tie unless you have an old one that you no longer want...

This is one of my favorite steak houses in the LA County area. The food is amazing. Really dim if you have eye issues but looking at all the ties in the place is cool. Great way to lose those unwanted ties since they cut them up. Steak and burgers are amazing.

Had a party of 22... We got all seated within a reasonable time. And the waitress took our orders very quick and effectively. The food was brought to the table right away with no mistakes!! Ive been going to this place for 20 plus years and this was the best experience we have had.

Food was great, seating was very tight.Tables were set cafeteria style. The rows were so tight you could touch the stranger at the table behind you and hear every word they said.I wish we requested another table.

I have been coming here since I was very young. My uncle use to take all of us here when he was alive...It is the Best Steak House I have ever been to. I have tried many different places to get a steak but I Always come back here because they make the Best Steaks around the food here is Great. The prices are really good and its a down to earth type atmosphere here where you can eat on picnic tables with benches or tables with chairs. The wait is not that bad and they have a bar here if you want a drink while you are waiting. Very Good place to eat. The people are really friendly and service is great. Come here and enjoy the Best Steak Ever...

We were looking for a place to get seated for dinner quickly and saw Pinnacle Peak reviews online and thought we would try it. It was very busy for a Sunday night 630pm and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat. If is not a fancy place - the exact opposite truth be told as they have walls of ties they have cut off their patrons. The BBQ chicken and ribs were very good, and my son said the hamburger was terrific, but they do not have French fries which he was not happy about. I am not sure I care for the decor, or the crowded conditions which is why I only gave 4 stars, but I sure would like to return and try the steaks - so perhaps we will try it as carry out.

Met some out of town relatives for dinner here (once again) a couple days ago, and recalling our last visit, my expectations were not very high. Im pleased to write That the experience was a huge improvement. I ordered the 16oz rib eye medium rare and it was really a terrific steak: tender, flavorful (not oversalted like my last visit) and expertly cooked.

If we could give them more than 5 stars, we would! It was my birthday yesterday and I really wanted a good steak dinner that we could enjoy at home. We automatically thought of Pinnacle Peak and called for food to pick up. Not only was the food absolutely delicious but the amount of the sides were just like being in the restaurant. Often when you get food to go from other places, they skimp on the sides that they would give you if you were to eat there. Not so at Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse! We have more than enough (including steak)for a meal tonight. We got the the Rib eye steak! Highly highly recommend!

Service was good. My old fashion was quite red in color and too sweet, thus tasted awful. I ordered a medium rare prime rib and received a medium plus cooked slice. I returned the plate back and server returned advising there were no longer medium rare portions. I ordered a T-bone in its place. This piece of meat she served had a portion of the lumbar, there was no further bone sections. It was gristley & tougher piece than T-bone, just not sure what cut it was. Despite its rustic western theme the restaurant looked & felt worn. I would not go back even if it was free. How do they justify pushing those cuts of meat - total deception.

Still the classic cowboy Steakhouse ! Make sure you wear a tie especially if you have kids going with you... just dont tell them its going to be cut off!! Its a great tradition!! Just like watching them cook the steaks through the glass window! First time I went here was 1969 and its still the same. Good beans, good bread, good potatoes, good steaks! . They advertised BBQ chicken in sauce. It was baked chicken and the only sauce available was Lea & Perkins; definitely not good on bland chicken. Bread was not toasted, just sliced. My husbands steak was so tough, our dog got a got meal out of it. In fact, she got most of my chicken too. Cannot recommend.

Arrived about 5 mins early for our reservation, there was about a 15 min wait. Went to the bar for a drink. Bar service was not great but then again on Valentines day its to be expected. Tables were closer than I prefer but again on Valentines day restaurants are trying to pack as many customers as possible. Our waitress, Calamity Jane was on point. Food was prompt and very tasty. The BBQ was tangy and delicious. Center cut sirloin and mushrooms were awesome. Will definitely visit the restaurant again.

I started eating here as a child in the 60s. My dad loved T-Bone steaks.Ive always had a fond memories of this restaurant, have ties cut off and staples to the walls or ceiling.I heard the was a change in ownership and it was not the same. Well we tried it out now that we are living in the vicinity.We were not disappointed, the Trail-boss is not the 32 ounces but at 28 its still huge. Get rare for the best cutting filet and the porterhouse side is great too.Salad is the same, original Italian dressing still available aswell as other choices.Ribs, chicken, burgers are also available, plus a variety of sideside.

This place was crazy busy when we went. It usually is. To this day. I cannot figure out why. My parents love coming here but I think it is for atmosphere. It just isnt good. My sister in law and husband got prime rib. It was literally COLD when it came out. My ribs were edible but very dry. My brothers steak was well done when he asked for rare. The waitress wasnt friendly at all. The food here is just too expensive for crappy food.
