We had a very nice table outside on the deck looking at all the boats. The food was really good we started with oysters and we had shrimp and everything was just what it should be. Also the wine was the house variety and it was really good. We will definitely come here again

Ive been a customer for decades, going back to when you could eat dinner and gaze out at the Park Street Bridge. We recent took mama bear for Mothers Day brunch, and everything was absolutely perfect. Friendly service, really nice customers, beautiful views (both of the bay and the harbor), and truly delicious food for a reasonable price. We ordered generous entrees for four, three mocktails, three rounds of oysters, and a big ol dessert, and only paid $200. The oysters were to die-for, btw. Do not miss them while theyre on the menu! All in all, we had a sweet, memorable, fun, Mothers Day, and will likely remain loyal customers for life.

Came for breakfast on a Sunday. Place was empty which should have been a sign. Ordered a BLT on sourdough but instead it came on super dry white bread. Blackened chicken sandwich was not much better, dry and stringy. Coleslaw was watery. Tea pot leaked. Definitely paying high prices for the view only.

The seats have a fantastic view. At starter, we had calamari and shrimp fry. Additionally, the teriyaki salmon in the dinner was superb. Due to its proximity to the harbor and shore, the restaurant may draw large crowds.

Stopped in for lunch after a nice walk over at Crab Cove. Lots of parking and nice views of Ballena Bay. Had a few cocktails and had a nice lunch outside. Staff is very friendly and nice. The menu is packed with tasty meals and they have a full bar. Clam chowder was fresh, warm and yummy. I had the fish and chips and wasnt disappointed in the slightest. What a great place to chill and have a good time.

Went there with some friends over the weekend. The place is located at the Yacht dock. Nice and peaceful place. Menu was great. I enjoyed Sautéed Prawn. Started with Fresh OJ and 2 sides. Both were awesome. For starters, sauces were awesome.Main course were fantastic and delicious. We ended the lunch with super awesome dessert.After the heavy, we went for light walk around with view of Bay Bridge.Service was great and fast too. Waiter was very courteous and respectful.Highly recommend this place to try and visit.

We had a funeral here for a family member. The staff were very professional, sensitive, and accommodating to our needs. Plus, the food was delicious. I had the salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies. Thank you for your service and support.

Went here with my family yesterday. Food wasnt great.Clam chowder was nasty very Bland and needed seasoning and the swedish meatballs didnt taste like swedish meatballs tasted like a disgusting noodle gravy mess. Was missing nutmeg and seasoning. The Philly cheese steak was just ok. Jersey Mikes is way better! Wish we could have got a refund. Dont recommend this place. Waitress was rude. Alot of better places out there guys.

Nice location, comically bad food.Pier 29 has a reputation for a fantastic view. Or so Ive been told. I wouldnt know, as we werent allowed to sit in the empty section of the restaurant overlooking the bay. Instead, we were ushered to a rear-facing section complete with construction views.My disappointment could only be assuaged by the much-awaited shrimp scampi, right? But alas, the scampi turned out to be more scam than pi. These shrimp had seen about as much seasoning as we saw of the ocean. Each bite was an arduous journey through a barren desert of blandness, prompting the question: where did all the flavor scampi off to?Meanwhile, the limp pasta had the culinary charisma of a Walmart clearance item. I was half-expecting to find a barcode underneath it. But what about the white sauce, you ask? As to the runny sauce I can say two things: it was white, and it was physically present.In retrospect, Im almost glad we didnt have the view. The idea of tainting such beauty with the memory of this $100 meal reminiscent of plastic-trayed school cafeteria food would be too much for me.Other notes: I should note the waitress was great; kind and attentive, and topping off our drinks constantly.

Nice view of sailboats. Attentive service. Waiter had dirty fingernails. Bathrooms EXTREMELY unkept, dirty, and very foul smelling which definitely ruined the nice smells and taste of the food. Scallops were nice size and tasty. Calamari was tender but small portion and so thin that I mostly tasted the egg batter covering the calamari. Oysters were fresh, small, and tasty. $6.50 for 2.

My husband and I enjoy our visits at Pier 29. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes you feel at home. The place is cozy and the food is fantastic. I always order the same item, which is the Garlic Butter Ribeye steak with rice pilaf and it is superb. 💜

I had the pleasure of being served and meeting Efrain on an early Saturday Afternoon.He made the entire meal a joy and chatted with me and also checked in on me frequently. He made me feel like he’d known me for years and did so by just being kind and informative. This gentleman is the embodiment of the culinary/service industry.I only leave reviews for places I genuinely enjoy and Efrain made sure that I’ll be back with friends, family, and whomever else I can get to make the trek here. Today was my first trip to Alameda and I will never forget it because of his kindness.If anyone from Pier 29 management, or the owners see this, this man seriously deserves a significant raise or bonus. He made a really bad week into a great one. Thanks Efrain. I won’t forget my time here.

The food was ok and for us having a fairly big party I was a little disappointed. There were only 2 kids orders and theres came out last. My shrimp was ok but nothing over the top. Of the two servers in glad we got the gentleman we did because the female was not the best. The clam chowder was sadly a little disappointing.

Pier 29 used to be good place to eat at reasonable price. My birthday dinner there was terrible. I ordered the Lamb Shank which I had order before. It was the worst Lamb Shank I ever had. It look like leftover from previous night. They just microwave and add more gravy:-(

This is one of my under spots that I may visit when Im passing through Alameda, its an OG spot, and sits right of the water, I like to look at the view and enjoy a good cocktail and have some appetizers when I pass by. A classic spot tucked in the cuts.

You always know your favorite dish is going to be delicious. You know what to expect. The wait staff is wonderful, always. Efren is always great, on top of all your needs. Cant remember the womans name, but she as well is the best. Both of them can run the whole place. And still be nice. You should try the filet and lobster tail absolutely the best.

Go for the views, NOT the food.This place has one of the most beautiful settings in the Bay Area with an unobstructed vast view of the Bay and San Francisco at the front of the restaurant, and a peaceful, lovely marina from the back outdoor seating patio.The service was friendly, if a bit clueless about the menu. They will bring you anything you want, but dont know much about food.And the food? Well, its expensive and, though it is not terrible, it isnt more than standard coffee-shop fare dressed up in high prices. We were here for Sunday Brunch, so cant testify to the dinner menu. But my suspicion is that dinner food isnt a whole lot different in quality than the brunch food.Why cant places like this realize what potential they have to become a destination dining experience? As is the case with so many places with great views, thats what you get charged for: The View. And the food is really nothing you cant get at breakfast/lunch joint. They have a crab sandwich that costs over $30, and its just canned crab with some kind of creamy mayo sauce.

Overall it was resoundingly okay. BUT the Oysters Rockefeller were worth writing home about and they had probably the BEST creme brulee I have ever tasted (and I taste a LOT of creme brulee, its my favorite)!The views on either side of the restaurant are EXQUISITE and our service was very good, just kinda slow.

B&BWe went to this place for dinner Sunday looking for a local place to relax and eat near the water. The atmosphere was nice the décor was OK the bar looked great and I expected a little bit more when they put the food down on our table.I kind of suspected that our meal wasnt going to be the best one we were served buns out of a bag. I ordered a Cajun halibut with vegetables but the vegetables and the halibut was was boiled and then fried with Cajun seasoning, The fries were out of a bag the carrots were out of a bag as well the only thing that was fresh was the spinach on my plate.My partner had a walnut and pear salad. The walnuts had some type of caramel on it that you would swear if you were eating Now or Later candy it would be just like that feeling that may have pulled out your feelings, thats how hard the caramel was on the walnuts. Never had that before.Trying to enjoy the atmosphere the saving grace was Paul bartender we both raspberry mojito that was great.We may have had 2 bad dishes but because this is a nice atmosphere we might return just might return just for the drinks and something easier to make so I can only really give this place 2 and a 1/2 stars.

I had an omelet there back in February 2023. I think the omelet was on the small side, but it came with a good amount of fruit.. and the omelet was very good. The waiter is excellent. They really try to accommodate what you prefer..Then my second time there was just July 18th 2023.. I had a cheeseburger and french fries.. french fries were a bit on the hard side but the burger was killer was really good. (; Cheeseburger). But be prepared to pay it was $15.25 for a cheeseburger and fries.. Is traditional seafood restaurant. Decor is about outdated but it speaks to the age of the establishment and years it’s been there. Most of the customers are seniors. Cocktails were well made and very tasty. Calamari was ok. I wasn’t too thrilled with the breading. Too oily and fell off the calamari. My dinner salad was supposed to have walnuts but was missing. The lettuce looked very limp and it was spread across the salad plate, which made it unappealing. Flavor was good. I ordered the lamb shank with rice pilaf. The lamb was well cooked and seasoned. Rice pilaf did not wow me but it was cooked well. Steamed vegetables on the side did not excite me. Tiramisu with coffee was delicious. Service was good but could have been more attentive especially when there were only a few occupied tables. Restaurant was very quiet and the view across the bay towards San Francisco was beautiful.

Weve been to Pier 29 several times. Its a regular gathering place for a couple civic organizations we are active with. They offer a fairly simple straight forward meal plan offering a couple choices to offer at set prices. Food is good and staff are friendly. Bar is typically no-host, so people are welcome to get whatever they like or not. Its a full service bar.View if the bay is quite nice.

I got a well done burger that doesnt have a taste to it, ordered another one and came even worse, a place like this with these prices should prioritize food presentation and understanding customers requests. Unfortunately that was $60 down the drain. I do not recommend if youre looking for anything other than seafood.

I dont like leaving low reviews. However, the experience was less than enjoyable. Although all employees were masked, they still use hand held menus and mine was sticky, and not from being sanitized. Also, they had plenty of space to spread customers out comfortably, yet they continually clustered separate groups near one another. As a former server, Im aware that there are generally sections for different servers. But there were only a few servers on the floor. I had to switch tables, along with my guest, twice in order to feel comfortable with proximity to others. Even after moving once, they sat another couple directly behind us, and we moved yet again, before just giving up on the idea, and this was on the patio, not even inside. Also, the food was severely over priced for the quality we were served. It wasnt terrible food, but considering the prices, it should have been better. It felt like a low budget Red Lobster (and Im not a fan of Red Lobster either.) Being from the Gulf Coast, good seafood was plentiful. Now, being on the west coast, I feel it should still be pretty good.

Well, I had to post this review with just 1 star. without thoroughly blasting them I will agree with some of the other reviews that I have now seen in that the food is tasteless, overcooked, overpriced and underwhelming. The cheesecake was really good however. The server was very pleasant, but I also did not express my displeasure to him. no need to make a scene, I just won’t go back.

Beautiful restaurant, the views on both sides, great service.The food was good and abundant, definitely good size portions. I personally prefer smaller portions with slightly more exquisite presentation. I definitely enjoyed the meal but it hasnt screamed fine dining at me. I recommend Sole in shrimp and crab sauce. I am a huge fan of clam chowder in general but Id say you can skip it here, it was more like potato chowder, didnt find many clams. My whole family enjoyed the meal as well.It was great to finally have a drink after the long quarantine and the selection is excellent - full bar.Overall - I definitely recommend this place and plan on returning there myself some day.

Tried this place 2 days in a row. First time, we arrived for lunch and were greeted by a server who *literally threw our menus on the table. We ordered the fish and chips, which was reasonably priced. When the food arrived however, we were shocked at how little food was on the plates. We spent $80, just to go get food on the way home. Decided to give breakfast a try and was surprised to see that 2 eggs, bacon potatoes and toast went for $16. Tried the omelette instead, thinking that maybe the portions would be a little better, I was wrong. On the upside, we had the same server, who seemed to be in a better mood. Id honestly steer clear of this place unless youre not hungry. EDIT:. The service isnt anything to brag about either. Sat with empty glasses and coffee cups while the waiter walked by multiple times and just looked at the table. All around poorly done, wont be back.

If I could award zero stars I would! The shrimp cocktail was not but nothing but small, thawed, bagged shrimp with no flavor. We ordered fish and chips based on the picture on the their web page. I took my daughter here for her 16th Birthday. There were four of us in our party. The food was good small portions for the price you pay. The service was terrible. I was very disappointed. We didnt even order dessert because we just wanted to leave. I ordered bloody Mary which was good was never asked if I would like another. My daughters ordered soft drinks and didnt get a refill. We sat there for approximately 10 minutes after we were finished with our meal before our plates were taken and asked if we wanted dessert. I would understand if they were busy but this wasnt the case. I will not return which is a shame because we have a family condo less than a mile from the restaurant. For the price you pay the service should be excellent. Im thinking they need to retrain their servers.

They took our temperature before seating us on the back patio, which overlooks a marina with lots of boats. The menu is vast with seafood, steaks, sandwiches and pasta. Definitely has something for everyone. They have a good wine list too.We started with crab cakes, which were loaded with delicious crab but the tartar sauce served with it was boring. The grilled scallops were cooked perfectly and delicately seasoned. The rack of lamb was fantastic. Tender lamb lollipops that melted in the mouth. Every entree came with soup or salad and a good selection of sides. The creme brulee was delicious but a bit runny.The reason I took a star away was because there were loud smokers outside the restaurant, just across a walking path from the patio at the yacht club entrance and walkers passing, some talking loudly, some with no masks. The early bird dinner special is a good deal, but I wouldnt exactly call it an early bird special when you can order it up until 8pm on a week night.Most of the food is pretty average, which is why I gave this place an average score. Loved the views during our lunch. Clam Chowder was excellent. Prices are very reasonable. Only complaint is the waiter seemed overly busy even though there were not very many people dining at the time. We were asked if we wanted more water, which we did, but he never returned to give us more, nor did he ever check back after our meal was served to see if everything was ok. We also asked a bus girl that was cleaning behind us if we could get some cocktail sauce, she said she could not but she would get our waiter to do it. I live close to Pier 29, and have eaten there twice. You won’t find a nicer place to eat as far as the view is concerned. On one side, you can see San Francisco’s skyline. On the other, a lovely calm marina. The restaurant interior is fairly non-distinctive as is the food. The restaurant appeals mostly to the older demographic, and the entrees are items you might expect to find at a retirement home. The food is bland and inoffensive. I recently ordered the eggplant Parmesan, and would have expected it to be served with pasta, but no, you could only choose rice, baked potato or French fries. The eggplant was preceded by the clam chowder which was thick and mostly potatoes. The eggplant was unexceptional. The service was good.If you’re going to go to Pier 29, I would recommend that you try it for brunch, as they are more likely to do that competently. But this glorious location is begging for an imaginative restauranteer to turn it into something memorable. It could be a classic.

Burger was sub par at best. The portion side of fries was a joke. Did we really wait all that time for such bad food?You can tell the staff isn’t happy either. Management didn’t offer to make things right because of our wait but they did act when I spoke up. We have had not so great chowder before but it always is a step above what you get from a can. This was not. The complimentary bread was also lacking taste and texture and the saltine crackers were stale. We still had not gotten to our worst part of the meal. The Calamari was under cooked and spongy. The lemon caper sauce was not good at all and the garlic mashed potatoes tasted like instant. The view was great, the food wasnt!

Intentionally dishonest regarding reservations. I phoned early morning to make reservation for our 30th wedding anniversary, telling him that for special occasion we wanted window seat, but could be flexible about arrival time. I was very explicit about wanting a window table for this special occasion, and He promised me a window table. But when we arrived... he did not have any window tables and said it would be a 2 hour wait for one. I reminded him of the promise he made regarding it at time of reservation and he basically admitted that he lied, figuring when we arrived we would settle for another table.We left and went to another restaurant.

Oysters tasted like rotting garbage I had to walk to the bathroom and spit out the Oyster Rockefeller since I was close to throwing up if I tried to swallow it. Escargot??!! Omg! Should never taste like ammonia and garbage what the hell!? When I told the waitress it tasted bad she smiled and giggled like I was joking...this was twighlight zone for sure at that point. But I did pay the $111 tab politely and tipped her INSPITE of it all. Thanks

White clam chowder and deep fried calimari are two of my favorite foods. They were perfect. Clam chowder was thick with lots of big chunks of clams. The calimari was in bite sized pieces which were deep fat fried. They were light and melt in your mouth wonderful.Good coffee, spomoni and gracious service.The view outside is very beautiful. The food is excellent - try the prime rib. Reservations _only_ via OpenTable - they dont answer their phone at all. Nice view out over the marina, as well. We sat in the bar area; theres also the restaurant area and an outside, shaded porch. Great place, we mean to return.

This restaurant has a neighborhood feel to it. Not a hipster or trendy spot, more older and friendly. Open views of the SF bay. If you go at sunset then you are in for a treat. Plenty of options for those who are not into seafood. We started with market oysters and the Kumamoto oysters. Big difference! The smaller Kumamoto was the brinier and better tasting choice. The classic St. Jean Chardonnay was perfect with this appetizer. The meal I ordered came with a very nice clam chowder that was thick but not like the pudding you get in some places. Lots of clams not overly starchy. I ordered the Fishermans stew. Not at all a ciapponi like what you might expect. A slighty sweet tomato basil broth that was thick enough for stew. Filled with some very good sized prawns, tasty clams, not too chewy calamari, good tasting fish pieces, bay shrimp and some small but good scallops and fresh basil. That was a very filling meal! It came with some rice that I didnt even touch. The sourdough bread and the stew was enough. I had some Anchor Steam beer with dinner. My dinner companion had the Captains stew which is basically the same thing with a white wine garlic clam broth instead of tomato. Also very good with the St. Jean Chardonnay. This is a great place to have a quiet and enjoyable dinner.

This is a nice throw-back restaurant on the Bay in Alameda. It has an 80s full bar and a reliable restaurant. The food is fine as is the service. I come here once a year during the holidays and I havent been disappointed.
