This is obviously a chain, so it has a very fast foodie vibe. What works for this particular branch is the location. It is located right in front of the Caltrain station. The interiors are very bare and industrial, but they have some art hanging from the local art school, and that is pretty cool. The cafe was quite busy whenever I visited, but almost everybody seem to be working. But then again, I was not surprised because the vibe of the cafe was a work and meeting kind of cafe. Like I wouldn’t come here to read my book. There is plenty of seating, but only some seats have power outlet, so you have to choose carefully where you want to set if you want to work for long hours. The coffee itself is pretty decent. You can specify the level of sweetness and creaminess, which is new for me, and I’ve never seen this before any other cafe. I tried the specialty rose coffee, which was pretty dang good. Overall, a nice place, if you just want to work in a cafe. There are some food options as well, but I honestly would skip it. There are plenty of nice food options, walking distance from the store.

First time visiting a Philz to check out the hype, officially a fanboy! This joint is super dope, yummy solid espresso, I am addicted to the Dark Roast Jacobs Wonderbar blend, phenomenal flavor and tones.. Id even go to say one of the best Ive had for sure.I also really dig the comfy, quirky, unique and chilled vibes and tones of this chain, its really comforting, welcoming and a rad jam. The service is kinda slow, but the service, taste and flavor are on pointNote, they have both oat and almond milk alternatives at this location.

Met up with a friend here for a little coffee and some breakfast. The staff was friendly enough, and there was plenty of seating.I wasn’t terribly impressed by the breakfast sandwich or my coffee, though. Have had better. Have had worse.It’ll do if you’re just looking for some coffee and a bite, but probably isn’t going to blow you away.

First time at Philz and I was not disappointed at all! The Iced Mint Mojito was delicious and definitely worth the hype. We also tried the Jacob’s Wonderbar, Chocolate croissant and Bacon and Onion croissant and everything tasted amazing. Highly recommend this place!

If you want to start your day with quality coffee, don’t come to this Philz. I’ve been a big fan of Philz coffee since college, although it’s a bit pricey. However, a cup of Philz has never let me down, until now. Unfortunately, one of the baristas at the store is poorly trained. The quality of the drink he made is TERRIBLE!I placed an order on Sunday, hoping to start my day with a cup of my favorite coffee, the rosé. When I came in to pick it up, just by glancing through the cover, I could already tell it was made incorrectly. Why? Because it looked just like black coffee.I told Justin, THE barista, that my drink didn’t look like a rosé to me. He stared right into my eyes and insisted it was. I felt so ashamed to ask him to remake it… still, it tasted HORRIBLE. I’m certain he doesn’t know how to make Philzs most popular drink properly. I wonder why he couldn’t make a rosé correctly. The rosé is one of the popular drinks on Philzs menu; how could he not know? I sincerely don’t understand how this could happen to a barista working at Philz. And he seemed so confident that he hadn’t made a mistake. How is that possible?Just look at the photo. Can you tell it’s supposed to be a rosé?

Philz is always a good place to grab either a coffee or tea beverage. Its best to order it ahead of time online to save time, and thats what we did. The place was pretty packed. I enjoyed my mint iced tea. It was definitely needed.

Beware: No espresso, it’s only pour over coffee. The said they’d approximate an ice latte and it was iced coffee with whipped cream on top. The coffee was good but the cream is like using butter lipstick. I don’t understand the appeal, is individual pour overs only really that much of a thing? I guess.

There are many new menu that I haven’t seen other cafes. So it was a bit hard to order when I first came here. Staff were so nice and gave me their recommendations. I had Tesora which is good for a latte lover and Philtered Soul which is one of their signatures. I’d give 11/10 for friendly staff.

First time at Philz and Im definitely coming back. Great coffee, great service, solid wifi, lots of outlets for working, great location, could probably use more seating, but since I was here early, I snagged a good seat. I wanted to listen to my own music but their playlist was better.These photos were taken at 9:30 on a Sunday morning.There are signs for parking in a public garage where parking is free (youre limited to 3 hrs). Very convenient and the parking garage exit is adjacent to Philz.

Giving it four stars because of price, I put the coffee is outstanding. The only thing is there’s no real drip coffee it’s all pour over that’s the high price, and I didn’t see any single origin on their menu, on these blinds and they don’t tell you what’s in it all of these flowery descriptive words. Being a coffee person I liked all the details and not be marketed to. That being said the coffee was still great although I had to wait a while for it.

I showed up after work with a crazy sugar craving, and fortunately there were two cinnamon rolls left. The woman in front of me got one of them, but I scored the other.It was surprisingly busy, with nearly all the seats filled and a line at the counter. I rarely see that at other coffee shops.I managed to squeeze in at a table and get some end-of-the-day laptop work done. The Wi-Fi was straightforward to get onto, and I was glad I had VPN from work.Next to me were a couple of tech bros talking about a big investment for their next start up.Since this is the valley, I can imagine there could be lots of network snoopers. But hey, the price of doing business at a busy public coffee shop…

This place amazed me with the variety of coffee they have. This one is opposite to the Sunnyvale Caltrain and Bart station. And the place is definitely a good one to hang out with your friends.Is the coffee any good? Yes, it certainly is but the only catch is that you may want to find your favourite after trying a couple of them. Now my favourites are Philtered Soul and Dancing Water. The name is not the only fun thing, the coffee is just about right.It has a good team and the cafe area is also a nice place. People who wants their alone time with your cup of coffee, or a place just to hang out with your friends, you got Philz Coffee.

Extremely slow for preparing the order. I ordered via DoorDash and it initially said my order should be ready in 20 mins, I spent 20 mins driving to the store and waited for another 20 mins and still didn’t get my order. If you are a chain you should be well trained for giving reasonable estimated wait time for your customers and for preparing your order fast.

As I patiently sit and ponder the time it takes to create my Philz creation. I now with a serene and much appreciated value why. The barista pours the filtered piping hot water into the filter where the freshly ground coffee is immersed as he stirs with a metal long stirrer. As I watched with wonder as he focused on timing and dedication on producing such a valued drink. Curious as who will be enjoying this wonderful drink. And to my glee he called my name. Euphoria! We live within walking distance of Philz and have gone many times pre-covid. This was our first during COVID experience and it was mildly confusing yet we still figured it out and ended up with two delicious cups of cold brew coffee. Imo, their system needs some clarification. The app says no need to wait in line but when you get there you have to... Wait in line... To check-in and pick up your order. If its ready, they bring it to you and on you go. If not, they will call your name when it is ready. In the end, you will still get your handmade and consistently tasty coffee. I got my cold brew straight on ice and found it perfectly tasty, nutty, smooth, strong the way cold brew is, and better than Starbucks (my wife challenged me to a ind taste test next time to see if I can tell the difference, haha). My wife got hers with non-fat and stevia and it brought out different flavors for sure and was still really good. Im glad they added cold brew to their lineup and will certainly get it again, especially while the weather is hot. Hope you try it and enjoy it too!Not in the mood for iced? They still have plenty of good hot coffees. Ordering sweet and creamy means cream and sugar is added in generous but balanced proportions which complement the coffee, but for those of us looking for healthier alternatives theyve got just about every kind of milk and sweetener too. I suggest trying Jacobs Wonderbar or the Silken Splendor for more of a rich chocolate flavor, those are my favorites. Im also a fan or almond milk or oat milk, light, because it complements the flavors well. Imo. Enjoy!

I usually frequent this Philz on the weekend, theyre my second favourite Philz spot, after the SJSU one! Get my drink right every time (Istanbul Treat, sweet and creamy with honey). Friendly, sincere staff. Bigger than the SJSU Philz, but definitely gets filled and packed up pretty early on in the morning. This was where I tried my first Bacon Cheddar Scone and it was heaven!

The dancing water coffee I order is always good and it has consistently met my expectations. The baristas at Philz are diligent and make each cup when it is ordered. I’m not a coffee person, but I love the hot chocolate at Philz. So that is my only point of reference for my comment. It tends to always be busy at this location - seems popular with the study/work crowd, so we usually end up finding a place to sit outside. Iced Mint Mojito was good, I can clearly taste the mint, but the coffee flavor itself was not coming through at all, so overall coffee 7/10. the “Everything Bagel” was very stale and hard terrible 0/10. In Sausage Burrito I could not taste the sausage, but I did see a couple pieces here and there, there was more bread than eggs, barely any seasoning, I give it 5/10. I Will reorder coffee to try new flavors but not food. They did good following instructions for less ice and less sugar, which was appreciated. I’ll reorder again maybe it was a bad time to order (11ish AM on Monday).

I am sooo glad I live nearby this place. This has become my go-to coffee place.They have a restroom that is passcode locked. You can ask the waiter for the code when you order.Their signature drink is the Philtered Soul but the Mint Mojito is a close second.Coming to food items, their croissant is surprisingly good.When I take the Caltrain to SF for sight-seeing, I make it a point to grab coffee from here first.

Interesting concept…pour over in a hurry. While they don’t adhere to coffee nerd lore on the pour over process, it’s still a great cup of coffee that costs as much as Starbucks. Order ahead so you don’t have to wait. And good luck deciphering the blend names since the staff don’t necessarily know them either. It would be nice to know the major coffee bean regions are in each blend as opposed to a wine review description of how it tasted to someone.

It has been a while since I have been here. Coffee is great. The staff is friendly. But the music was so loud you could not hear the other person, or hear yourself think for that matter!I also agree with whoever said the tables are long and not enough seating; especially for such a centrally located place.Last time I was there, it was bad. They were out of paper in the bathroom. Took telling the staff 3 times before anything happened. That was the last time I went there!

I was handed over an almost cold latte even though I asked for hot latte and it was supposed to be served hot latte. The server just shrugged off on my complaint that there is nothing he could do about it as the cream was cold. He attitude was just like get out of here, it is what it is. I dont care whether you like it or not. He was a young high school kid or college kid who probably was tired of his shift or did not know at all how to make latte. The attitude was - get out of here, we cannot do anything about it. Thats how he ruined my evening with just giving me a cold latte, I just left the latte after taking a sip.I had ordered that latte 4-5 times before also in same Philz coffee branch and never had such issue. It cannot be that there is special cream that day that made latte cold. The guy simply did not want to address this at all.I felt really bad about it. Probably Philz coffee is just too popular to care about customer satisfaction at all.I know probably nothing will be done to address this but I just wanted to write that a good coffee shop should not have such worker to push customers away.I will think few times before I decide to go to this location again.

I love Philz coffee. Their pour overs cannot be beat. And I love this location. The staff is friendly. The avocado toast is yummy. It’s a nice place to hang out. But, some days the lines are just too long. This morning we waited in line for ten minutes before work, weren’t advancing at all, and finally had to call it quits and go to Starbucks. I realize they’re short staffed and it’s a problem all over the Bay Area but it does take much longer at this location to get a coffee than at other locations.

Moving from Atlanta and missing my local roaster their I checked out Philz here first. Great place to get a freshly made cup of coffee. Theyre going to grind the beans and use a poor over to make your coffee AFTER you order it. So much better than getting coffee thats been sitting around all day. This place is for coffee lovers NOT Starbucks lovers. If you like Starbucks thats cool but dont expect this to have a menu like Starbucks. On the contrary this places menu is 80% just choosing what type of roast and bean origin you want. They have tons of options. The Tantalizing Turkish was the first thing I tried and I keep going back to it. Very good. Cant review their latte making skills because I just enjoy a cup of coffee black. Im sure its on par though. Watched a new hire spending over an hour making cups of coffee for the manager to taste test until he got it just right. Really impressed with this place.

Im not a connoisseur of coffee by any stretch; I mainly go to Philz for the ambiance. That said, Ive enjoyed every cup Ive had there and the people are really friendly. You get a large selection of delicious and unique drinks and yummy pastries for a great price.I wish the place was a little quieter, though. I love to read on the couch with my coffee, but often the music is loud, as are the customers. Even so, its a pretty comfy spot.

I enjoy coming to the Sunnyvale Philz since every time Ive gone, they arent too busy, and drinks come out pretty fast!My go to is the Philtered Soul Cold Brew. There is lots of seating inside, and a few tables outside as well.Parking is a bit difficult here in DT Sunnyvale. When it gets to peak hours, parking almost impossible to find. Frequently a long line but the staff usually gets through orders fairly timely. With new social distancing standards, sometimes order ahead gives you a 30-45 minute wait time unfortunately, so its best to order before you leave for the store. I usually pick up a black dark roast on my way to the Caltrain on weekends, and I can always expect a damn fine cup of Joe regardless of selection. The caffeine content seems to be quite high for dark roasts here, compared to standard: just enough to let you tackle a day out in the city with vigor, but not so much that itll get you nervous/anxious when its your first/only cup.-Service: Very good, have always been received professionally/politely and the wait is about expected for the preparation procedure they use.-Atmosphere: Pretty good, not much seating given the traffic they receive at peak times, but outdoor seating is available in the shopping area. Not a place Id sit and work in all day, but I dont think thats what theyre going for.-Cleanliness: very good. Bathroom and public areas are all at least and usually better than acceptably-clean.-Price: the only reason I take a star off. Even the boutique coffee places I go to back in Central New Jersey (where Im from, another very expensive area) wont charge more than $2.50 for a cup of black coffee. Here I get charged $3.50 for a 12 oz. cup of coffee. My experience with philz has been awesome. The baristas always are nice and willing to my questions. The coffee here are bit expensive, $3 for a small coffee. However the caffeine high kicks in faster and harder which I do like. There are different type of coffee here to choose from.

It is my first time here. I wanted latte, but they only have a drip coffee so I just gave it a try. I got medium toast bean, and the coffee was quite good, much better than starbucks. I ordered silken splender, which has a good balance of saur taste and dark chocolate scent.

Cant go wrong at Philz. Pour over coffee for all occasions.If you like mediumish roasts, Id recommend the Philharmonic and the So Good.Their Mint Mojito coffee is out of this world too!

Some of the best decaf coffee (for me) and regular coffee (for hubby). I love the idea of a fresh brewed cup, no coffee pots in site! Every time Ive been in, they have brewed my selection to perfection!

It has a fun environment and attentive baristas, but its not particularly good. Their selection is limited and expensive. One good thing is you can bring in your own reusable thermos, and theyll fill that up and charge you the price of a small.

The coffee and snacks are good, but this is also my “emergency bathroom next to Caltrain” and on that score it fails miserably. The floors are full of muddy footprints and there is nowhere to hang a backpack or even a jacket. Trying to grab toilet paper one square at a time (after the second roll has descended) without falling over from the weight of the backpack = fun times. I buy a $3 cookie every time I use their bathroom, and I would like better service.

I go to coffee shops to study. My review reflects my ability to study AND the coffee/food.The coffee is supurb and I love their use of real mint in their mint drinks. I have not tried the food.This is not a great place to study. The music is loud, people here are loud to the point that it sounds like yelling sometimes, the power strips are not convenient everywhere (most of the place is convenient though), and the seats are uncomfortable except perhaps the couch (which I didnt get to sit on). Parking is also hard given where it is located.

Chill spot for morning coffee and baked goods. Their revised menu is super clean and really classes up the franchise. Taste and flavor is real consistent here too so its a definite recommend.
