The staff here is amazing— I would rate it 5 stars. I don’t know why they cause these animals to be in tiny cages. Do you really profit off of them that much PetsMart?

I called to ask a favor. A shot in the dark. I didnt expect special treatment. A polite we cant do that would have sufficed. I didnt expect to be lied to. The favor: expedite my online prescription food order even though its after 7pm; I have the written script. My vet doesnt return script authorization calls, so these two processes are incompatible. The lie: we havent received your order yet but we only have duck and venison (I ordered Original). Now it could have been a coincidence that they only had the flavors I didnt order but when she hastily said that if my order was filled in a couple days, it means they got a shipment in, I decided to go and see. My cat was already out of food, what had I to lose? They had both the 4 lb and 8lb bags of the Original flavor that I ordered. How interesting. Why not just say that on the phone and stick to the story of not being able to process it? And then to insult me further by inviting me to spend money there buying the food that I was told didnt exist? One star is being quite generous.

The store is very pleasant, organized and clean. Staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Theres plenty of variety in pet supplies for all kinds of pets. I went in looking for a heat lamp and found it easily, where other brand stores didnt have that product in that I needed at all. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible. Great staff, great store!

I’ve been taking my dog to Petsmart since May so I can get him socialized and make him more aware since he’s still a puppy. The very first day pet hotel associate Anthony was so welcoming. He explained the DayCamp process and since then, Mowgli has been such a star there. I love the love that he gets from every single person and I can tell that he loves all of them as much. I take them at least two days a week, and I feel like he is satisfied. I deeply want to thank the staff for taking such good care of him.

We had booked a boarding session at PetsHotel which got confirmed. But when we showed up with our dog, the employee said they could not board him because he had jumped up to greet him. There was nothing in the PetsHotel policy on the website saying this was unacceptable behavior, and it was frustrating to have to cancel our travel plans the morning of (and lose money on our car rental, etc.) because we did not know this would be an issue. The employee seemed uncomfortable and inexperienced around dogs. Our dog has passed behavioral evaluations at three other daycares, has gotten groomed at this PetSmart with no issue, and had a history of being friendly to other people and dogs at his rescue, so the whole situation seemed silly. In any case, I would recommend avoiding this place for daycare or boarding and going with one of the local daycares (especially seeing as they have turned away behaved dogs, including a blind dog, the day of with no notice or explicit policy from past reviews).

They had sold me a bag of expired ferret food. It was only 30 days expired but they made it right by crediting back the 20 to my debit card! They also let me keep the product. They were very nice and understanding. This has happened before and they were helpful then. The employees at petsmart were wonderful. Ferrets pictured are Eddie, Zoey and Crash

This Petsmart location is the best ! There’s an employee named Jan who goes out of his way to help me with a smile. He understands my dogs needs. Regardless of his busy schedule, he is always around to help to the max. I can see how much he loves his job . I always leave this place with a smile.

First let me say that the staff are very nice. My two star review is about the management of the aquarium section alone. The aquarium section was managed badly last time I was there in November 2023. Many fish looked sick. There were dead fish in a few tanks. The glass looked dirty. There were pest snails in many tanks, which shouldnt appear in any well-managed tank.

I have a German shepherd who is required to get id hills brand and I have a prescription. The so called help refuses to check if additional products are in the rear nor asking any store if its in stock anywhere. I recommend not using PetSmart for anything other than useless products that your own dog cant use. No service,no information not an ounce of aiding a senior customer who has a file that is why I am here.

I have been going to this store for months to buy things I needed and gifts for pets of friends and have noticed how lazy the employees are. The first time I came across an employee she was so rude and short only to go back to her cell phone which was upsetting. Their adoption area for the kittens is a SMALL space, they go from kittens to young adults in there with no one adopting them. Their space is so small and many times my kids and my husband have also gone, they notice the cats have little water and their litter box is stacked up to be cleaned. The employees are young and have no interest to take part in clean up effort for these cats in these small enclosed spaces, its heart crushing to see this over and over. They should have volunteers who would want to help and spend time with these babies who need attention. The frustrating part is after many attempts to speak to someone about asking to spend time, holding and petting their cats, they act like its a burden to spend time with their cats they have there for adoption. They rush you and ask you after five minutes, well which one do you want to take home?! Its honestly so upsetting!!! I really wish these young kids would take the time to check on them and clean after them and allow people to visit without being rushed. These young employees ONLY want to be on their phones... I cant begin to count the times my family and I have been in this store just to see employees on the phone with friends and not care if a customer has a question!!!! I rate this store a 1 for POOR service and failure to do their jobs!!!!! VERY UPSETTING - these cats deserve better!!! Please go in and adopt a kitty or if you know of someone looking for one, help by adopting one & giving it a forever loving home.

They have a good selection of cat food and toys. It just makes me a little sad to see the kittens/cats in the display case. I think the price to adopt is too high compared to other rescues. And the cats are definitely not enriched/socialized as often as they should be.

Beware of the PetsHotel at this Mountain View store. We were longtime customers, but during our dogs last stay, they called me while we were out of state and said, Your dog has worms. Come pick him up. They were wrong. When we got back, I took a sample of our dogs stool to his vet and ordered a lab test. The results came back negative! When I showed Petsmart the results of the lab test, they agreed to refund our money but didnt acknowledge their mistake or apologize for all the trouble they caused. Now we dont trust them anymore.

The staff is amazing and I have been really happy with my pups couple of stays so far but I have to rank this low because petsmart doesnt allow 24 hour pick up. I understand drop off not being allowed after hours but pick up is dictated by flights which can happen any time and flight delays are a reality as well. Just being able to hand me my dog is certainly something that Petsmart as a corporation should be capable of providing but as a company they choose to make you wait all night and dont allow the overnight staff to give you your dog. Its very frustrating and I hope one day petsmart reconsiders so we can bring our business back here for my redeye flights. I certainly hope that if there was an emergency there would be a way to get to your dog at night but it doesnt seem like it. Its not the staffs fault but petsmart you can do better policy wise. I realize that a blackout is not their fault but I would have appreciated some heads up that they were going to close this location. Imagine my horror as I drive to this location to drop off my 2 cats who are anxiously waiting in the car, only to realize there is no staff and I cannot get inside. In this day and age where technology allows for automated messaging, the least they could have done is message me to let me know that they won’t be able to accept my pets today.I ended up not being able to send my poor pets anywhere because it was so late in the day and I couldn’t book another hotel. Now I will have to leave them at home so I can catch my flight and beg friends to come and check in on them.

I take my cat to the pet hospital here. The Veterinarians are compassionate and caring doctors. They go above and beyond to make you feel at ease with your decisions. They are professional and knowledgeable about their job. They made my daughter and I feel comfortable saying goodbye to our 1-year-old cat, but most importantly they made my cat feel safe and comfortable. The technicians that work side by side with the doctors are excellent as well. The store employees are friendly and eager to help with any questions you may have.

I love pet smart. Amazing service and staff. I got 2 pets there 2 mounts ago and they are doing amazing. My dog had something in her and they give us the medication and years later she is doing amazing. We always find the things we need when we go there. During Covid Ive been in the store a few times. Shelves were stocked and staff helpful. Everything is good. Removing one star because Ive never seen more than one checkout person, even when the line is long. I understand the need to not overstaff, and usually the line is only 1 or 2 people so it moves quick enough. But still, when theres 5 or even 7, the wait in line can be 10 or 15 minutes. Too long.

They had just opened 10 minutes and i needed some assistance with an online order, he wasnt too happy to be working that day I guess. Also their dog training is a joke. Good selection of treats, toys and supplies for your furry friend with day camp and pet hotel in store. My dog comes in a couple times a week for doggie day camp, he gets visibly happy and excited whenever we walk up to the check-in desk. The staff is extremely friendly and do a great job taking care of their furry clients, providing stimuli like bubbles and tunnels to campers for entertainment.

This is a fairly nice PetSmart with a lot of parking available. The front smelled quite strongly of dog pee, not uncommon but it was very strong, as if no one had ever even tried to hose it down. The one we usually go to doesnt have this problem but the one we go to also has some landscaping right in front so that probably helps.Very nice and large PetSmart. They have the hotel, daycare and hospital and presumably grooming as well. Not very busy but we did go late afternoon on a Saturday.

Tried placing an order online which said to call the store for help with my order so I did and they supposedly didnt find my order. Told them it was fine thanks. if they can check if the product was available in store so I can go get it myself. they said no they dont have it. An hour later my order is ready for pick. WTH! Which I dont want anymore because they said they didnt havethe product so I got it somewhere else. My problem is being charged in the first place. When you guys said my order wasnt there so I couldnt cancel it then. It frustrating cause now I had to call and cancel it and technically you guys are still making me buy it and then return it. Unbelievable experience at Mountain view location today. I have been shopping at this location ever since store opened and, in the fish department, always have had an easy and nice communication with the stuff, but todays experience left me flabbergasted...I wanted to purchase the algae-eater known as pleco and the guy (who claimed was a manager of the store!!!) ask me about the size of my fish tank. I told him that the size is around 50-55 gallons and I currently have 4 corys and 5-7 neon tetras in it. He said HE WILL NOT sell me a pleco (that is 1-2 inch big) because 55 gallons tank is too small and, if I wanted to purchase this fish my 55 gallons thank needs to be completely empty of the other fish...I have been breeding fish for 15 years now and am avid fish lover and used to have three fish tanks, so I very often visit the fish stores but I have never ever had such an experience...WOW! I will never go back to this store again!

When I arrive, no one is there after 5 mins, first grommet showed up and start to setup computers, and I had to kept waiting.The WOREST part is, they gave my dog a bold haircut, he lost all his hair and they also hurt him!Terrible experience.

Every time I travel without my pup. I try to get him a place to stay using rover app . But this time I wanted to leave him in a pet hotel due to his medical condition . I previously left him in pet hotels before Rover was not around . From 2015. I had him stay in different hotels in Houston, Texas and In Bellevue, Washington . After moving to California this is the first time leaving him at the Mountain View pet hotel. By far has been the worst experience .We left some toys for him to stay comfortably in his suite . During this July 4th weekend we Mentioned the time for pick up and wanted him to get a shower and nails done . Including the time for pick up.After arriving at the hotel at the pick up . They seemed to have lost his favorite toys . And no shower or nails done .I’m not happy and asked for the toys and they had to search for 20 minutes to find them .At this point I’m not even sure if they had given him the one on one play time which was promised .I’m concerned what my pet has gone through while we are out .This is supposed to be a place where we are sure pet is taken care of well but I’m not going to recommend any other pet owner go through what we went through .

Worst Experience Ever. The manager Carlos rudely hung up on me. They did not take my puppy chula because she was late. Mind you I called several days before to reschedule and the girl on the phone told me it should be fine. They had ONE dog all three other employees were sitting around doing nothing. This is one of the smaller PetSmart stores around the area (compared to San Carlos and Sunnyvale), and therefore may not have all the items that the bigger stores stock. However, the staff here is extremely helpful and friendly, and most importantly - pet loving. Overall, enjoyable to shop at and to bring my dog for grooming.

This was the second time I took my dog into this store and they can not find my reservation. The girl in the grooming dept just stood there and looked at me like it was my fault. They when I asked if they had any other times she was rude and told me no. When I asked to speak to a manger she said there was nothing they could do either. I left and went to find a manger and all he did was ask if I wanted to try a 3rd time, he said 3rd time is a charm, no thank you I will never go back.

It kitty recently passed fairly suddenly, and we had a number of things recently purchased. I was helped in the grooming department. Mariah groomed my feisty dog and did a beautiful job. My almost 2 year Maltipoo is very difficult and she was able to deal with her. All of the staff in the grooming department are so helpful and nice and easy to talk with. They make you feel comfortable and welcome as soon as you enter. I really appreciate everyone there. Also, all of the other employees that work in the rest of the store are nice and helpful also. I will continue to take my pup there and also make my purchased there. A+++++

One time someone cut in front of me at the register and the cashier made them stand behind me which is really nice because Im an older unattractive white guy and am used to being sidelined and Im not angry at those guys but it was nice someone noticed. This is an updated review.Following an incident at this PetSmart that I found disappointing, the store manager called me personally and reassured me that action was taken to ensure the incident is not repeated.The issue was that picture of my puppy (who has just left the hospital) was taken by a store associate and published on their marketing channels without my knowledge or consent.I appreciate the speed and consideration with which the store management and customer service team handled this issue.Despite this incident, I am still a customer of PetSmart and would recommend them to new puppy owners.

Grooming salon review: they cancelled my dogs appointment on the morning, like 2 hours before the appointment. They take about 5 hours to get my dog done - too stressful for my dog.Pet supplies store is just okay. They have good selection of dog food and treats and everything. Ive been a customer of the Mtn. View Petsmart for 15yrs. There are lots of new faces but the customer service is still the same - excellent.Cynthia has groomed my dog Wiggles for the longest. Shes exceptional in her craft! She makes my lil timid dog look beautiful every time. If shes not available, Ill request her sister, Sandra. Both are the best in my opinion.Ive waited 2mos for Cynthia; although my dog suffered by looking really rough it was worth the wait. Cynthia made her look beautiful allover again.If I were a millionaire, Id invest in the two sisters to start their own grooming business. In the meantime, Ill just continue to patronize them and leave good tips!

This is where I bought my 1st Betta which lasted for quite awhile. I like how they have a descent amount of pet supplies and accessories for both my fish and other animals. They also have plenty of fish available if you want to start a home aquarium, whether you want a small or large tank. The store is large, but quiet and its a delight to see the dogs playing together through the large glass window as well as seeing some of them receive a haircut.

Came in to buy fish for the first time. Went a few times, customer service here is not good and ended with a bad experience overall each time. No one looks happy to be working there. Everyone has an attitude and is not friendly and always seem too busy and bothered to answer my questions. Alea (sp?) is the only good manager and took time to answer all my questions and was extremely helpful. There are two other managers Ive dealt with (wish I knew their names) who turned me off and made me decide to go to PETCO instead. Going to Petco has been such a BETTER EXPERIENCE overall and I am a very happy customer. If you want fish, go there. MUCH BETTER SERVICE. Sorry Petsmart, you lost a customer for life. Please work on your customer service and RUDE managers and maybe things will improve.

We used the in-store vet service. Most unprofessional vets I have ever come across. We were left in the room for half hour and when I finally walked thru the backdoor, I found the vets and staff were sitting around talking and joking. The staff are nice, but the vet was very rude and was really pushing overpriced vitamins from in-store drug store. Stay away at all cost. Adobe is about a mile away and very professional.

I come in regularly to get supplies for the rodents I own. The shop is well stocked for supplies but I wish they had a larger selection of toys for rodents but their cat and dog selection is good. Its also worth mentioning that the starter cages they recommend are well below the acceptable size for housing pocket pets. Youd be better served getting a large Tupperware bin.

Sorry Kassey, I didnt realize that I absolutely HAVE TO spend $50 dollars on all the materials you gave me (which just so happened to be the most expensive stuff). I suggest that if you dont want to deal with people, dont take a job that requires it extensively; the gravel you tried to sell me had a better attitude than you and was not as dry as your sales pitch. Thank you so much for your help, I now know why you said that if not taken care of properly, the fish will die; its probably because they have people like you there.

This location REALLY doesnt take good care of their Betta fish. Ive been back several times, and each time I come the stock is high and the cups are dirty. You can see the leftover food and waste which means daily water changes aren’t happening. The fish are lethargic and always have shredded fins from poor water quality.Humane treatment for all pets is important! I hope by writing this review, more people become aware and express this to petsmart management.

Really bad experience with our puppy at this location. Total hack job and we had to take him to PetCo (yup) to finish the grooming. Worst grooming every, nightmare. I checked their website price match policies and still have my receipt, but their website policies clearly state they can price match from their website as well. The grooming salon has unprofessional business practices. I scheduled an appointment online with Cynthia. I was happy to get an appointment because pretty much all of the Petsmarts in the Bay Area are booked. I am traveling from Pacifica so it’s about a 40 minute drive. My pets appointment was at 1230p. I get a call 30 minutes prior to my pets appointment saying Cynthia was not working today and they had to cancel the appointment. They said no one else could do his groom. Of course I’m almost there because I live 40 minutes away. Why couldn’t anyone call me as soon as they opened at 9a and not 30 minutes prior. The person that called me didn’t apologize at all. He didn’t even attempt to work me in. Very unprofessional. You just lost my business.

Friendly reminder: Don’t even go to this store if you’re window shopping. Just check online and go to other pet stores. Those employees are just so rude and materialistic. I was there just to get some quotes about Petshotel, but those two employees (working on the morning of 12/7 around 10AM) were just standing there, greeting customers who brought their pets, and doing nothing to me. “Thank you” for ruining my wonderful Thursday morning...Folks, that’s how they treat potential clients. Additionally, breathe in when you walk in or get the hell out of this store ‘cause pees are here and there at the gate and trees.

We boarded our rescue dog here for the first time after having her for 7 months. I worked a lot with her to get her trained and used to dogs and trusting people after she lived on the streets of Oakland (so we were told). She didnt trust people and was of course skittish when we first got her.Now she loves dogs and people and knows lots of tricks, had no food or water guarding aggression, etc.Still we were worried about her first time being kenneled anywhere overnight.The PetsHotel employees heard or story and were not worried. They took great care of our playful mutt. We have used PetsHotel many times in the past in PA and this was our first time using this location. All the employees were great. The report card had enough info on it and we learned Kaylee made a new buddy during the all day play sessions.Im very happy knowing we have a kennel we can trust and where our dog is now familiar with staying.

Eric Torres was the groomer and if I could give 0 stars, I would. This was the worst grooming ever. I didn’t even recognize my dog. There were really short spots, parts not trimmed at all and super long. One leg wasn’t trimmed at all and the other leg was super short. I’m not picky nor have I ever given a bad review before, but this was just Horrible Horrible Horrible!!

Our dog loves going to Doggy Daycare at PetSmart in Mountain View. They have a dedicated staff that takes the time to get to know your dog’s personality and ensure he is in a play group that most fits his personality. They always have fun activities planned for the dogs. Today, for example, was Ice Cream Day, a day the dogs get a dog-safe ice cream party. The staff at PetSmart’s Doggy Daycare and the Pets Hotel are professional, knowledgeable and always accommodating. We are especially impressed with Edgar, who we would trust our Tate with any time. The environment is clean, spacious and safe. Pet grooming is also available so your dog can come home not only tired out but clean as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend PetSmart Doggy Day Care and PetsHotel.

Brought my dog for a check up since this location was much closer to my new address. First visit was ok - nothing spectacular; older dog with chronic ear/skin infections. He was given a prescription (different from what he had been on over these past years). Fast forward 6 months later: I called for a refill. The vet denied the refill. Dog must come in for a check-up first. It had only been 6 months! When I asked for an appointment, they said that there were none available until the following week...Petsmart is in it for the money, and only the money - they showed no care or feeling for my dog, who was in pain. I am going back to prior vet, even though it is much further away.

Wandered around looking for someone to help. Went in to adopt a cat, asked four people for help. They said the woman who helps with the Humane Society adoptions was missing and no one else could help. One worker walked away to get us help and we saw her helping someone else instead. The people who worked for the other agencies were more helpful than the other Petco workers. I even called and talk to the adoptions workers this morning and then drove 26 minutes to come and adopt. Terrible, terrible service.

Petsmart is a good store because of its low prices and wide range of items. The only complaint I have is about the feeder fish. There are 100+ goldfish in what looks to be a tank of about 5 gallons. Curious about how much the staff knew about the fish, I asked the person in the fish section what the dark coloring on all of the the goldfishs fins was. He replied that it was just normal coloration. The normal coloration is actually fin rot, a disease. Overall, I will be shopping at Petsmart again in the future, but I really wish that they would take better care of their feeder fish. 3.5/5 stars

2 years ago i got a bag of cat food that was full of maggots few months ago got sold a guinea pig that had problems and had ring worms that gave it to my other guinea pig and gave it to my hamster that thank god my cats did not get but i had to pay a lot to get medicine and vet visit unfortunately the guinea pig died 2 weeks later i did get my money back but does not fix the rest of the money spend and time i had to get off work.
