We are so thankful to/for the team at Pet Med! they took exceptional care of our Great Dane, Winston When he got sick. He went from not well to quite ill quickly; our vet was unable to get him in immediately so recommended PetMed where we had an excellent experience all around. The facility is amazing, the team was wonderful and the vet is extremely knowledgeable as well as considerate of the pet and the owner. When Winston was doing better I called and asked a question about why pumpkin had been part of his “get well prescription“. The vet actually came to the phone and spent time educating me in a very thorough yet easy to understand way. We highly recommend PetMed to anyone who is looking for loving, competent care for their furry loved one.

My regular vet was full, so PetMed was recommended. I was able to get in right away. The staff and doctor were very informative and friendly. I was very grateful for everything they did to help my little hooligan Opal-Anne. Thank you.

When my cat Colby jack suddenly started breathing quickly for extended periods of time during times of rest I grew very concerned. My normal vet was unable to see Colby that day so they recommended me to petmed. I am above and beyond grateful for the excellent, care and professionalism I experienced at petmed. Not only did they show genuine concern and urgency but compassion and empathy for me, as an overwhelmed bubbling mess of an owner. I highly recommend petmed to anyone who is looking to get help for there animal, they will take great care for your pet. You are able to watch your pet be worked on from the observation window in the lobby so you can be insured your pet is safe! If I could I’d give 10 stars thanks for taking care of my 17 year old boy he appreciates it!

I live in a farm and have over 40 animals so I deal with large and small animal vets quite a bit. The people at PetMed were some of the best I have ever dealt with.I on a work trip in San Luis when my dog who was already being treated for a strange illness, took a turn for the worse.The people at PetMed were amazing. If I lived here I would go to them on a regular basis. A very kind staff, the building was full of natural light and my dog is doing better!

They took great care of my baby. Got me in right away. My dog wagged her tail when she met the doctor, you can tell he loves dogs. Got the foxtail out of her paw. All the doctors were very kind and professional. The office was clean. I hope I don’t have to return, but if I need to this would be my first choice.

PetMed is indeed an Urgent care. They were quick to answer their calls and was able to schedule us last minute. Dr. Ethan was able to determine immediately what the issue was and willingly offered an operation then and there. We set a schedule with no hassle, came back the next day, and successfully did the procedure for our dog. Dr. Ethan was very polite and did not made us feel intimidated. The staff was warm and also professional. This place has definitely set the standard on what an all in all veterinary clinic should be and we wish more success to it. Thanks to Dr. Ethan, Gregg, Celina, and Priscilla. Gracey and family are grateful.

We have used PedMed twice for our terrier, once when he broke a few claw and again when he was throwing up and not eating. Both times the website made it easy to book a same day appointment, staff was very nice and immediately I could tell that they employ people who like animals. Doctors McEnroe and Scott treated our dog. Both were very easy to talk to and explained everything we needed to know.Additionally, when our dog had the stomach issues they called to update us on what was going on and how he was doing regularly.Lastly, they have a window into their treatment area so you can see your animals while they are being treated which is great.We originally took our dog in to PedMed because they were open and conveniently located but will be going back for the great service and friendly knowledgeable people!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ethan McEnroe and his staff. My Oliver was not well, we didnt know what was wrong as it was not his normal Frenchie issues. Sadly it was a mass on his small intestine and Dr. Ethan did emergency surgery the next am. It was complicated but he did such a fine job that my Oliver is recovering very well. Dr, Ethan has checked in with us many times and has been so informative about everything. Cancer is the big concern now and he has gone above and beyond helping navigate our somewhat complicated situation. I have been so grateful and impressed with his help and compassion. My boy is now 8 days post surgery and improving daily, in fact he is being a bit ornery which is a great sign. Next we face oncology but with the excellent support from Dr. Ethan we are headed in the right direction although praying for a miracle. Pic is of my boy Oliver that they sent me post surgery.Update- NO CANCER!!!! Best call ever from Dr. Ethan.. I think he was as surprised as we were..

Highly recommend PetMed Urgent Care for immediate medical concerns! I brought my cat in for urinary issues and was very impressed by the level of care that he received. Dr. Ethan McEnroe and his staff were very kind and attentive, and I really appreciated how patient and gentle they were during the examination to make the experience less stressful for my cat.Dr. Ethan provided very helpful recommendations for follow-up care and thoroughly answered my plethora of questions :)

I was so impressed with PetMed. I suspected my dog had an ear infection and I was hoping to get her seen as soon as possible so I looked up PetMed and made a same day appointment. The infection was pretty bad and she had to be sedated so they could properly clean it, they took care of this right away and she was ready to go home an hour later. The staff are all incredibly caring and kind and the doctor was very thorough reassuring. They even called to check on her in the days following. Don’t hesitate to visit PetMed. They’re the best!

I was very disappointed when I took my dog in for a tooth infection which the fill in Vet agreed with and suggested antibiotics and pain meds. I explained that I worked with a dog rescue so had pain meds on hand and asked what antibiotic she would prescribe. She mentioned Clavamox and Clindamycin but said she thought they were out of Clindamycin. The tech came into the exam room with a bag and said my bill would be $247. $155 for the visit and $93 for the prescription. I told her I had never paid more than $30 for it and she said they only had one size bottle which was 4 times more than I needed and it needed to be thrown out after I used the 7 days worth as it wouldnt last past 10 days. I think this is an outrage. I checked on Chewys website and it was $25. I had a follow up call asking how my dog was doing and I again voiced my displeasure and the person told me there was a fill in Vet and she would talk to the owner when he got back. I expect some type of credit.

Dr. Ethan fit us in within 30 minutes after I called. He was caring, attentive and took our Shih Tzu Bailey’s treatment step by step, being conservative but effective with treatment recommendations. He took pictures to show me and after treatment and discharge, followed up well after hours a day later to see how she was doing. And we have a follow up appt. in a week. He is better than most vets I’ve seen over the years. I also loved how he wanted to run his opinion by his colleague who specializes in her specific urgent situation, just to be sure he was giving us the most expert path for healing. 5 stars! The best care to date. The staff and Vets are so efficient and caring. Our senior kitty usually comes home frightened and hides for hours. Not this time. It was obvious that she was handled with love and care. Thank you all for everything. We are truly grateful. Highly recommend.

While camping in Morro Bay we woke up to our dog throwing up and falling over. The local vet couldn’t see our dog and sent us to PetMed in SLO. We were seen immediately and Dr. McEnroe came in promptly and examined our dog. Dr. McEnroe explained everything he was doing and seeing. Then told us it was most likely Old Dog Vestibular Disease. No known cause. He did some bloodwork and then gave Ollie some anti vomiting medication via IV. He also gave us some medication for anxiety as Ollie would start shaking. After an hour or so we were able to take Ollie back to our campsite. He was much better the next day and even walked on the beach with us! The entire team at PedMed was very caring and professional. We highly recommend them!

We are very grateful that we took Lily, our 9yo pocket beagle, to be treated by Dr. McEnroe. He and his staff were very caring and I would recommend the Petmed Urgent Care for anyone in need of urgent care and ongoing care for their pet.We were on vacation and needed immediate care. Dr McEnroe assessed and diagnosed the issue, provided the appropriate medications for Lily.If we lived in SLO or surrounding communities, he would be our veterinarian.

Our dog, Callie, ended up with a painful ear infection over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The only clinic that would see her was PetMed Veterinary Urgent Care in SLO.Dr. Ethan and his staff were wonderful.They quickly and thoroughly examined Callie and consulted us with their plan for treatment. They gave us a price range for what it would cost us.Most importantly, they treated Callie with love and kindness, and...she is now recouperating nicely.Thank you all at PetMed, SLO!!! We received truly amazing service and care. Dr. Ethan is a fantastic communicator and vet. He explained thoroughly, yet in a way we could understand, all that was going on with our cat. Thanks to Dr. Ethan and his wonderful staff our beloved bird was saved and is now doing well. The clinic is brand new and beautiful. Our community really needed an urgent care veterinarian. If your animal is injured or suddenly ill and your usual vet cant give you an appointment for days or weeks it is such a relief to know this clinic is here. And such a great bonus that they treat chickens and other birds as well as dogs and cats. Thank you!

Dr. Ethan and the whole Pet Med team were so supportive and helpful in a very scary and hard time in my and my pets lives. They listened to me, took my concerns seriously, and helped diagnose and treat my dog who was in a lot of pain. They called to check in after our visits, and I really appreciated that. If I have more emergencies in the future, I will definitely be bringing my dog here again. Best pet urgent care on the Central Coast, hands down.

Dr. Ethan and his staff went above and beyond my expectations when I took my Ragamuffin in for emergency services. I was highly appreciative that Dr. Ethan admitted my cat when all other ER Vet offices in the area were at capacity at a time when his practice was also experiencing a busy day. I found Dr. Ethan to be a leader in his field by providing exceptional care and being a professional who is led by integrity. In times when customer service and professionalism seems like a lost art, Dr. Ethan proved otherwise. He was efficient, communicated options clearly, and his genuine love for animals made a bad situation seamless. Dr. Ethans staff as well, showed empathy and had great bedside manners for my Ragamuffin. My cats procedure was successful and she is on her way to recovery and optimal health. Unfortunately, I have had to use PetMed twice since their opening this year. Fortunately, both experiences were positive. My initial visit a few months ago caused no hesitation in picking up the phone a second time when a new need arose. All members of staff are sensitive, sympathetic, and professional. My dog was handled with care. In both cases, my dogs problems were correctly diagnosed and options for treatment were given. I like that I was involved in the decision making process.

I took the small dog I was dog sitting to the PetMed Veterinary Urgent Care In San Luis Obispo when she became ill and her own vet was closed for a week.I was able to get in to the clinic quickly and the staff was very nice, and seemed knowledgeable. The doctor was great, and seem to have all the time in the world to talk to me and to examine the little dog. When I came to pick her up later in the day, the doctor led me to the back of the clinic and showed me on the computer, the lab results and slides of her infection, explaining as he went along. The clinic called again a couple days later to check on the dog and again, I spoke to the veterinarian and I never got the feeling that he needed to get off the phone in a hurry!I am so happy this clinic is here, it has only been open a month but I think they are already a valuable service to our community.I am very happy with the care the ittle dog received and highly recommend this clinic for urgent needs.

Very friendly staff, super Duper, clean facility! They are located just left of the ups store, just a tip because it was hard to find with no big sign on the roof. My kitten was completely lethargic and looked like she was at death’s door. It did take 2 appointments to diagnose correctly, but the vet was very helpful and communicative and kitty is back to normal this morning finally! They call the next day to check on your pet which was great. Very grateful for their help - super supportive energy in this place!

My pup was suffering for the last few days with shaking, bloody stools, lack of appetite & vomiting. My regular vet said they couldn’t see my pup until 3 days later. I didn’t want to make my pup suffer and wait that long. I called other local vets but was unable to find one that could take him the same day AND provide a full blood panel & in house with same day results. I was referred to PetMed by another helpful veterinary clinic. Dr. Ethan at PetMed has a great doggy bedside manner. He was friendly, informative, patient, and gentle with my boy. His staff was also friendly and professional. They had an issue with one of their testing machines but were able to still get me same day results despite the hiccup. I appreciated their efforts. Dr. Ethan called me with the results and followed up today to find out how my boy is doing. I left feeling satisfied and comforted by their care for my pup.

What a fantastic addition to San Luis Obispo pet care. With the lack of available veterinarians, often times people have to wait to see a get their pet medical care. Dr Ethan McEnroe is the new guy in town, a graduate of UC Davis Veterinary Medicine, he know his stuff. Without an appointment, I took my little Maltese to see him after she had swallowed a whole “milkbone,”was having difficulty breathing, started foaming and vomiting yellow bubbly bile. She was taken to the back and seen almost immediately, X-rays were taken to identify the blockage, anti-vomit injection given. The filling morning I received a follow up phone call to check on her. The attention to her care was suburb. Two days later she had fully recovered. A wonderful, compassionate vet and hospital.

Very good experience with my emergency crisis, the staff and Dr. McEnroe saw Bambi within an hour and half of my call. Possible poisoning or maybe something more serious with her gastro system but for now shes stabilized, feeling better, and alive.I appreciated that he worked with me to choose the basic tests in diagnosis in an attempt to keep the price down. His knowledge is good, he handled Bambis emergency with good focus, Im a relieved dog mom.
