Awesome donut shop. Amazing selection and BIG SIZED ONES that are worth the drive. Be prepared to wait in line, but it can move quickly. Open early and late, multiple windows to order from. They are also on every delivery service. A must visit for north county.

The hype is real. The staff here is super friendly and encouraging, when you purchased their donuts. The donut size are extremely generous and are priced inexpensive in comparison to commercial counterparts the.now to the real star of the show the taste. The taste is amazing hands-down one of the best donuts I’ve had in my life, their pillow donuts, also known as a croissant donut... that right there should fill you up eating one of those for the whole day! I honestly cannot say you can go wrong picking one of their donuts. every bite is packed with flavor and it has the right texture per bite... if you get a jelly filled donut here that thing is filled to the max. Like the amount of jelly in that donut, could probably fill a small mason jar. I am warning you you probably could do one donut, maybe two max. if you get one of their bars, donuts. You’ll probably eat enough calories for two days.again, highly recommended. You should go here no doubt about it.

When you are traveling sometimes you need something that’s give you energy and this is one for me. The chocolate frosting was absolutely to die for, I want to eat just a container of it alone! We had a good mix of cake donuts and fried and they all got good reviews from us. Ill be thinking about Petersons for a long time because we don’t live close.

Fun donut spot with tons of choices and novel options! They have a decent seating area outside but it is right on the corner of a busy intersection. It was slightly tricky to enter the parking lot but there were plenty of parking spots. We came on a random weekday evening.They have all the donuts on display through the window and huge menus posted outside. The donuts are huge too! We are not big donut fans but this place was an experience worth visiting!

I used to come here every weekend when i lived close by. This is my first visit after the change of management. The price has increased but the donuts are still on point. Apple fritter is my absolute favorite! You have to try it. Its also nice to have other payment options other than cash.

The worst thing about this place is that I dont live near it to go all the time. 😭 I am a donut person and always want to try at least one donut place while Im on vacation. Petersons was one we saw while in the area and we stopped by. Wow were we glad we did. The maple bar is triple the size of any maple bar Ive got before and the frosting tasted so good, not artificial like some places can be. The chocolate frosting was absolutely to die for, I want to eat just a container of it alone! We had a good mix of cake donuts and fried and they all got good reviews from us. It is right on a semi loud street so one star deducted for atmosphere since it was a little hard to hear the bakers. Ill be thinking about Petersons for a long time.

Being a connoisseur of donuts I can tell you right now you definitely need to visit Peterson’s Donuts. They’re open 24 hours a day. We stopped by to get two dozen donuts on your way home at midnight. EVERYONE was so friendly and helpful. The donuts are delicious and they are very generous with the icing as you can see. The three chocolate in the box were mine to eat right away. I had two down before I got back to the car. 🫣 It’s like a little slice of heaven!! Enjoy! 🍩😋

Great iconic donut place here in south cal, best I have ever had. Family owned and operated for over 30 years. You should try their blueberry jelly filled, or the maple bacon Peterson pillow yuuummmy!The cinnamon twist to die for, and their Apple fritters the biggest I’ve ever seen good for 2 or more people. They open 24hrs. Give them a try I am sue you’ll be back.

If the donuts tasted anything near to how they look like theyd get 4-5 stars but... sadly, they arent even close. Went there twice to ensure the first experience was an aberration. It wasnt. Im left perplexed by how people who have had Crispy Cream or Dunkin, much less ANY local donuts shop can justify returning to this place, assuming their taste buds havent been genetically modified to not function normally.

This place is overrated. Ive spent a lot of money here just trying to find something that is worth while to order and each time Im disappointed. I also order for my kids and try theirs and still not great. Donuts are dry, dough is tasteless or not sweet, its just an average donut place with special design donuts, but youll spend a lot trying them.

Heard of Peterson’s for sometime now and finally in the neighborhood. There are so many varieties that one will have to come multiple times to try them all. All the cake donuts we got are moist. My flavor is the strawberry cake.Bring cash. There is a small fee to use the debit card to pay for the donuts.It is great that it opens 24 hours. However, mornings must have more varieties than 3PM. I will have to go back in the morning to get some cream puff and donut holes.

Love this place!Assorted variety of donuts here in all shapes, flavors and sizes. You can see all of the donuts available through the window but you can also ask if you dont see one youre looking for to see if they have it available.Huge fan of their old fashioned glazed, almost any of their pillows donuts, and the blueberry glazed.Big plus for when youre pregnant and craving since they are open almost always!

I visited Petersons Donut Corner in Escondido for the first time yesterday with my husband. We were excited to try this place. As mentioned, this was our first time here so naturally we werent familiar with the menu or how things are operated here. From the beginning the young lady helping us was not very helpful. We ordered items and she would say we dont have that in an annoyed tone. I asked if my croissant could be warmed and she said I guess, again with an attitude. When she returned I asked her if I said or did anything that offended her and she ignored me. I asked or her name and she responded I dont have a name. I asked for my receipt and the cashier name listed is Chelsea. I tried to talk this out with her in person like adults but she got super defensive and started arguing with me. I dont like leaving negative reviews, I believe in communication and giving the business the opportunity to work it out privately but, unfortunately, this could not be accomplished with the young lady assisting us. I hope this review reaches management to address customer service concerns and ensure a pleasant experience for all customers.

The girl taking orders was incredibly rude. Rushed me through my order and then proceeded to get upset and scream because they were all out of the donuts I was requesting (obviously i don’t know the inventory im ordering off the menu). These donuts are on my mind constantly! I am generally not a donut fan, but these are so good! This second time I came, however, I ordered two square shaped croissant type donuts and they were still raw in the middle:( raw enough I did not feel comfortable eating them. I drove a distance after getting them so I was unable to exchange them for something new. Otherwise I have had a great experience here. I would also appreciate a better menu or a better view of the donuts available. I think you guys would see an increase in sales if it was easier to see what you have.

This place has been a staple in Escondido since the mid-1980s. Reasonably priced, great selection, always fresh and tasty. Their peanut butter cookies are off the charts! It helps that their staff is awesome. Only downside is you might have to wait in line because they are popular.

I grew up near here, and was a happy fat kid growing up... After coming here im still a happy fat adult. FRESH delicious donuts and very reasonable pricing. They are open 364/24/7 - what can you not like about that? You can have your donut fix anytime you want! There can be a line, and can be a wait - depending on when you go, but they are generally pretty quick and have 2 lines open. My favorite is the cinnamon crumb donut - soft, not too sweet and makes an excellent companion with milk. It is one of my favorite donut shops and if my friends are in the area i would definitely recommend. Its just an old school, good value and good vibe donut stop.

The best donuts in San Diegos North County.Slightly expensive but worth it if you visit her once in awhile.The staff is very friendly.However please make sure to educate all your employees on what has nuts and what does not. The employee put in a Nutella filled donut that I luckily was able to point out. But she did manage to put in one of the boxes a reeses puff topped donut. So that could have been disastrous if someone was not careful.

Came to check out Peterson‘s to see what the new owners have been up to. Notice that there are some new additions to the Classic menu. Unfortunately, one of the specialty donuts that I wanted was not in stock that day so I branched out and got some other donuts including the pillow, which was disappointing, unlike its predecessor. My husband even said that it tasted day-old. The apple fritter was an improvement from the previous owners’ as it was chock full of apples wasn’t overly greasy and had a nice crisp around the edges. The service was OK. They take credit cards now (no longer cash only).

Manager and trainer need to be aware of how terrible the service is here. A few weeks ago, I came here and dealt with a lady who clearly did not want to be working. I even heard her murmur Just one more hour as she was totaling our order. Ghetto and unwelcoming attitude the entire visit. Tonight, the lady who helped was much nicer, but I was standing out there without being acknowledged for a good minute and eventually had to ask for service. There was 5 ladies in there and no one was getting donuts. This has been one of my favorite places to get donuts for years but the visits are becoming more and more unpleasant each time. Would have given 1 star if it werent for the lady who provided me service tonight. Stop letting poor service ruin the once great reputation here.

Their portions are bigger than your average donut shop yet they are still affordable and delicious. They are open 24 hours on most days. I’ve been eyeing this place for a while and the other morning I decided I’d grab some donuts. Parking was easy to find. I walked up to the stand and there was a small line, about four people in front of me but the line was moving fast. The people in line were very kind als9, making recommendations too me and just being helpful! They have an outdoor seating area with a menu posted to read while you’re in line. The donuts are listed but the description of the donuts isn’t listed so most people just pick once they got to the window. The donuts are on display behind the glass.I ordered a half a dozen and I believe I got a maple bar, another type of bar, a powdered cronut, a chocolate sprinkles cronut, a red velvet and an Oreo donut. The bars were delicious, the cronuts were a little messy but airy and worth it. But the red velvet and Oreo I could have done without, they were way more dense that the bars and cronuts and just seemed like the “kid” option. I didn’t end up eating those. The donuts were pretty long and tall also so I measured them.In the end I paid about $14 for a half a dozen, sounds about right for the size that they are. Beware of an extra charge on card payments, bring cash!

It’s been 11 years since we’ve been to Peterson’s and they so happy to see the menu has so many amazing options. After talking with Monique…the donut Fairy….we decided to try the pillows. We got the Maple Bacon pillow, Chocolate Ganache w/ sprinkles pillow, Oreo, and M&M donuts. Monique was so sweet and even gave us a sample Macaroon to try. It’s such a shame because their donuts used to be the absolute best! So fresh and delicious and fluffy. In the past few months, things have changed.1. The donuts taste like they’ve been cooked in old oil2. They’re often stale3. They’re out of stock on things all the time now4. Employees are slow and don’t know the menu (I ordered one of their “new speciality donuts” on the menu and the girl looked at me like I had a horn on my head. I also asked for a powdered sugar donut and she told me they didn’t offer that. Heard about this place by accident, drove by it by accident, and decided to give it a try. The bakery has no inside store, just 3 windows for ordering. Lots of traditional and trending donuts. The donuts here are bigger than other places. Our favorite is the basic glazed twist, it is big and fluffy, one of the best donut Ive ever tasted. Bear claws are good too. Visited for the first time on a Monday around 11am. Lots of open parking spaces. Short line, which was expected. Music was so loud, I couldn’t even have a conversation with my kids. Huge selection of donuts, though they were out of the strawberry shortcake donut that I really wanted to try. Got an apple fritter instead, which was very dark and tasted burnt. It’s huge, so I didn’t finish it and tried to give it to the kids, but they didn’t want anymore besides the small taste I gave them. Kids had Mike Jr’s, which were cake donuts spread with Nutella and sprinkles. Basically a $4 sprinkle donut, which seems expensive. Probably won’t go back, except to try the strawberry shortcake donut called The Audrey.

I have been to Petersens quite a few times in the past and the donuts have always been moist and delicious. However, this morning I paid $15 for four very dry donuts (I am not very picky). My first time after being advised by friends and reading some reviews. We had collection of donuts. Only One tasted so good, there is is special taste in the dough like nutmeg and pumpkin spice. However the rest was not as per expected and the dough was dry more like a muffin than a donut which made us disappointed. Petersons Donut Corner is a definite go to spot for donuts and baked goods in Escondido. The donuts are fresh and tasty always. They have a great variety to offer. My Favorite are the cake donuts plain or maple frosted and the custard-filled donuts. Cake donuts are how I measure a donut shop. Petersons are not greasy or overly sweet like other donut shops. The yeast donuts remind me of the ones my mother used to make. Service is friendly and prices are great. And its a locally owned spot as well.

Under new new ownership (twice removed from the owners you remember making the great donuts), and it shows: new menu isnt clear at all, got surprised by some prices at checkout. But more importantly, tastes different. Nowhere near as good as it used to!!! Ham and cheese croissant is suddenly very sweet (it was in a separate box, it didnt touch any donuts), the crumb donut spices taste very different to me, butterlog seemed more sweet focused and less buttery, and a french crueller was just dry. My guess would be that they maybe supplied a new company for the ingredients? Either way, theyre now charging a premium for something that just isnt that great.Petersons was the best donuts in north county, they simply are not anymore. Either lower prices to reflect the quality drop and match other local donut shops that also arent very good, or bring back the old ingredients/cooking methods/whatever it is that changed and charge the newer prices.Cant have both!

Don’t support this company. I’ve been raised on these donuts and previous ownership is completely different from current in so many ways. First off, the donuts suck now and are greasy and gross, which makes sense given the amount of lard they use. I say this because my boyfriend works there and literally quit today because of the abusive and poorly managed work environment. First off, they don’t train their employees at all leading to so many injuries so don’t be surprised if there’s some added blood in that pink frosting. My boyfriend has sent me countless images of injuries he’s gotten while working in the back. They are losing employees at such an insane rate that there were SEVEN new employees when my boyfriend came in today. The managers there smoke on the job which has to violate so many health codes. Like I don’t want cigarette ash in my food no thanks. A manager named Sam just outright abuses the employees. He told my boyfriend, who comes home bloody with injuries looking like he got ran over by a truck full of lard and chocolate, that he’s lazy and doesn’t work and doesn’t do what he asks. Looking at how he communicated with him over text I’ve yet to see a more unprofessional manager. He already got fired and they for some reason rehired him? He’s one of the managers that smokes on the job by the way. So yeah for the safety of you and others don’t eat ANYTHING this place has to offer. It doesn’t taste good anyway. I’m appalled by the way my boyfriends been treated while working here and hope this place shuts down for good, which it probably will given they can’t keep any employees for more then a week.

Extremely disappointed with the new changes. The donuts reduced in size about 30%, the added more expensive specialty donuts, and the formulations have changed. Examples: why is a jelly filled donut more expensive just because its pineapple jelly with colored frosting. They have made some changes under the new ownership. They have severely needed the size of several of their donuts. The oreo used to be sons favorite and now it is just your average donut. I would give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for their debit system. I always understand there being a fee to use debit at some places. $.95 here. But what bothers me is they have to round up, minimum charge being $10 then $15-$20-$25 etc. Their system also reads as an atm so you will get a non (your bank) atm service fee from your bank. New ownership is awesome! Seriously...I think these donuts are better than before! See for yourself. The best, got better!UPDATE: Went on 11/8/2023Year later and they are not 100% the same. Not fresh, chocolate crumbles off, sugary oil flavor. Also the design changed, doesnt feel like a hometown spot anymore. Very commercial feel. Been coming here for 30 years. Its not just a normal donut spot. Plus, no MI Rancho anymore?? Most I know would get Mexican food and a then donuts...especially for parties. Might as well go to a donut spot close your house folks. The Soul is gone.

I pride myself on eating good donuts when about town. Everytime I come into town or passing by this place, we stop. Probably the best donuts Ive ever had. One of theirs is like 3 of a competitors donuts. They are huge. Dont pass it by.

Best donuts ever!! The chocolate donut holes were my favorite, but they all were great, we got a good selection We saw it while driving to our hotel and immediately pulled over. So glad we did.

First of all, I showed up at 3:30 AM, so they are indeed open 24 hours as advertised…going at that time is a great way to avoid lines…I got some glazed donut holes and a jelly donut. The donut holes were good, nothing incredible or unusual but delicious as expected. The jelly donut was absolutely amazing though. The jelly was so fresh tasting and had a great texture, the fill was perfect, the dough cooked just right. Probably the best jelly donut I’ve ever had.

Going to customer for 40 yearsWe went there and it was closed and the new owner said they would take care of us and they would be open soon.. even told her he lived in Julian and we live 12 miles from there... And a girl working there would be happy to deliver us donuts for our trouble coming out to get some. Well today we went out just to get some wonderful donuts.We still looking at the donut display that was quite lacking and after about 8 minutes of trying to get some help the lady that was installing the new machine we go up to shes noticed that we were there the whole while and asked can we get some help and she goes oh no were closed I dont think well be going back to that place even the other customers that were there werent getting any help and she could have just told everybody they were closed when we asked you said they close at 4:00 we were there at 3:30 we drove and did an errand we came back in other people were in our shoes really bad customer service Im sad sad sad my donut place of 40 years is no more
