Minerva and I just moved from across the country and have been trying to find a groomer that we both trusted. And I can finally safely say that I think we found the one! Tatiana did such a beautiful job with my baby Minerva! She listened to everything I asked for and also gave me aftercare suggestions when it came to making sure her fur doesnt get matted. She is so knowledgable when it comes to grooming and really puts in the time and care for your fur baby. She is also so patient and really takes the time to talk to you about what the best approach to maintaining a beautiful coat is! I feel so lucky to have her as Minervas groomer because being able to find a groomer that you trust these days is really hard!

Just a cautionary tale for those who buy Blue Wilderness dry food. This particular Petco keeps the dog and cat food in the SAME aisle, right across from each other.Maybe it’s just me but I’ve never been to a Petco that keeps the dog or cat food remotely next to each other. I realized after a month I was feeding my cats dog food, as I hadn’t fully inspected the bag when I went to refill their feeders.At a glance, both the dog and cat dry food bags have a furry animal on them, so I wasn’t fully paying attention when I picked up the bag with the wolf on it, rather than the snow leopard or whatever type of feline is on the cat food packaging.I’m sure this is mostly user error a.k.a. my fault, but make sure to double check the Blue Wilderness bag before buying.

5 star for grooming. I went in after grooming closed on Sunday and they fit my Pom in the next morning without problem.The groomer Tatiana was gentle and patient. My dog was uncomfortable at first and she waited patiently for the dog to relax.Tatiana finished at the exact time we planned for despite it being a last minute booking. And the best part, my pup came out happy and looking like a million bucks.Thanks to Brian at the desk for the easy intake and nice convo. And Tatiana would be my first choice for grooming moving forward.My only complaint is the 5.99 fee Petco charges to subsidize their office costs. Shouldn’t be passed to customer but the staff has no control over that.

Tatiana did a wonderful job with my dog Chip! At first, he was very nervous and anxious like always! Tatiana was very patient and she made sure Chip was well groomed! I love how she added a banana on him after picking him up! I would 100% recommend her if you’re taking your pup in!

Tatiana was excellent and very professional. She made sure she understood exactly how I wanted Louis groomed. My dog is very nervous around strangers, Tatiana literally had to drag him into the grooming area. Lol. Once I arrived to pick him up, he was jumping with excitement and even interacting with the other staff. Louis has made a few new friends. I highly recommend this location for grooming and other pet essentials.

I had my Pomeranian groomed by Tatiana and she did a terrific job with the cut, she did it exactly as I had requested. She was also super sweet with my dog and very detailed and caring. I highly recommend her, I will definitely be bringing my dog to her again for grooming.

I take my boy here for grooming, and I love the service we get. The staff is very friendly and respectful my groomer Katelyn makes him look like a million bucks and I know she is a great groomer and person because my rescue is not a fan of most people. I would highly recommend.

I was impressed by this store. The young lady that took my call over the phone, the lady that helped me with the pet food, and the cashier at the counter, they all had awesome customer service. It’s a large store with lots of supplies. I came here after I experienced the poor service at the Wilshire location, and lack of supplies. You can tell these ladies love what they’re doing, and they do it very well. I look forward to the times that I will go to this store again.

Thankful for the nail trim for my dogs. One of them in particular gets anxious, and other groomers have shied away from trimming his nails fully for this reason. I’ve also had a hard time doing it myself. Gloria kept both dogs calm and did a great job.

Daisy is just amazing. My dog has bad allergies and she always makes sure he is taken care of. Shes always so kind and bubbly and a literal ray of sunshine.I would recommend anyone to her as she genuinely cares about her dogs and their wellbeing.Viviana was also very sweet and a great employee!Remember to bring your vaccination papers because they wont let your dog in without it for wellbeing of other dogs!

If you need stuff shipped from this store same day, dont do it. They consistently screw up orders and then make it incredibly difficult to deal with correcting their mistakes. They try and blame Doordash for their failure to get the order correct to pick up. Terrible store and terrible customer service.

The groomers at this PetCo are above par, and have always done “above and beyond expectations” for my fox terrier.The retail shop though, …🫤 It’s got more square footage than most to warehouse the inventory, but the store is grossly understaffed. Most days I see 2, maybe three common employees working the store. But there are an abundance of tasks that never seem to get done:The showroom and shelves never have all the shelves or hooks completely stocked.The dust and the floors look as though they only get a superficial wipe with a dirty cold wet mop when the obvious dog accident occurs.No personnel are ever around with product knowledge to help guide you. The register help is equally vacant, but obviously doing only what PetCo is under paying them.While I applaud and thank and generously tip the grooming staff, the rest of the store seems like it is on a sinking ship.

Posting this review out of concern and ensure action is made for the reptile care department. Since the departure of a few employees at the location the care and maintenance of the reptiles and their displays have plummeted. Either left empty with vacant spots or habitats that are bare bones and reflect little care to the animals displayed. I’ve visited twice in the past week to see a very young juvenile Blue Tongue Skink hiding under his hide showing very little signs of movement and eyes partially sunken in energy. *Adding a note I own a 8 month Norther Blue Tongue Skink and have experience taking care of and handling unwell reptiles and Skinks* The first time I noticed him sleeping his enclosure was relatively bare with only one hide and a feeding dish with loose uncut greens far too big for a pup that young with no signs of variety, protein, or supplements they need to prevent BBD and ensure they are providing an enriching diet for the skink. Second time around to pick up more supplies I checked in on the little guy to find him in the same exact space with some minor shed lifting but still looking severely lethargic and had difficulty moving around. Food bowl was the same overly large uncut greens, with the addition of loose crickets running around the cage which are horrible source of vitamins and protein for Skinks. I hope the little guy will get taken care of properly but it is extremely concerning that petco is attempting to offer amazing new exotics to the general public but is unable to properly educate their staff and management of how to care for unique exotic species especially one that is known for being intelligent great pets that have the capability of recognizing their owners faces and voices, can express happiness, stress, playfulness, fear, and a diverse range of emotions when observed or handled.When or if someone at this location sees this post I hope adjustments are made please review the care and needs of BTS in depth to understand their complex but basic needs that don’t require much more time than most other pets.

It was Christmas Eve Day, and it seemed like there were only 3 people working the store.The manager was dealing with one customer in the reptile department the entire 30 minutes or so that we were in the store, leaving the other 2 employees scrambling and trying to do their best to help other customers.

We have been taking Doug to grooming at the La Brea location for 3 years. Our dog has never been aggressive, never bites, doesn’t have any health conditions. He is just a little anxious (as most dogs get) and usually the groomers here are super understanding and help him. Never had ANY issues. Today 10/14, we had a scheduled mini make rover with Gloria. Check in was normal. We were informed it would take 5-10 mins for his appointment to be complete and she would call us over the speaker. As soon as we walk away, maybe 1-2 minutes, she calls us to return. We return and she tells us she is unable to do the service today do to his anxiety. She also informs us that they can’t force him to do anything he doesn’t want to do. I voice my concerns as this has never been an issue. She tellls me again that she is sorry but can’t do the appointment and that “he should be groomed by a mobile grooming service”. She then informs me that he will be noted as “referred out” in the system so he would unable to have appointments made online. I ask what that means and if she was saying he was unable to return to this location and she said yes. I honestly am upset that he wasn’t given a chance and let alone offered to be rescheduled. Again we have come to this location for 3 years and have had numerous grooming baths, hair cuts, and mini-makeovers.

The first visit was great, every visit since has gotten progressively worse.The first time, the staff took their time with my dog, called me with an update, everything was fine. They did, however, charge me for an upgraded service I did not want. Because everyone was nice, I let it slide.The second time, absolutely no one called or texted to let me know that my dogs grooming was done. It was only once I arrived at Petco and asked what was going on that I was told it was my own fault for not downloading the Petco App. I let this slide.The third time, I arrived to the odd sound of a dog yelping and howling from the back room. After 5 minutes of technical difficulties ringing me up, I was then cheerily informed that this howling was in fact my dog (who never howls). Again, I was charged for an upgraded service I did not ask for. This was my last visit.

Horrible service. I made an appointment like usual, but when i arrive the groomers were quick to tell me that I was wrong. I also felt racially profiled because as soon as the groomer saw me, a Latina, his face instantly changed. I ALWAYS get the same service. but somehow they were telling me i was wrong. Im thinking they wanted to charge me an extra fee than what i arranged for, per usual. This is not the first time i come here and grooming is usually a breeze but the groomer, who i regret not getting his name had a horrible attitude. I felt uncomfortable and un-welcomed obviously my dog would feel the same energy from them because he felt uneasy and started to growl, mind you this is not the first time i come here and my dog does fine. I feel frustrated every time I come here due to the indifferent and unprofessional attitude of the employees. I saw an item on the Petco website and asked the employee at the counter if it was available in the store, but they told me to check online instead. So I came here because it was listed as available online, but when I arrived, it seemed like the item was not in stock. I asked the employee to help me find out more, but they claimed not to know where it was and instead focused on their phone. I dont understand why they are even here if they dont want to work.

Tried four separate times to get an appointment for a teeth cleaning and nail trim and the first two times I left my number in person and was never called back, I finally come in for the third time in-person and get an appointment scheduled for the next day, only to be denied an appointment during my scheduled time due to medical history. Not being able to schedule a la cart services and in person scheduling taking way too long, on top of no warnings or notices of what paperwork I need him to be cleared. This whole experience has been terrible and my dog is so over due for a trim because I wasted so much time trying to get in, don’t go here.

Their corporate store teams would be wise to study what’s working at this location, and replicate it!Genuine, happy employees can be hard to come by in retail settings, management who stop and strike up friendly conversation are also hard to come by, but both are natural at PetCo South LaBrea. Yesterday’s experience featured Damian and Dr. Caitlin Fay - mini miracle workers providing top notch care to Angelenos. I might get more healing from an hour at this PetCo than from an hour with my therapist. Definitely returning and recommending!

My guinea pigs needed food and my cat needed her joint supplement and I didnt think what I had would hold them over until I did a Chewy order so I stopped in at Petco cuz it was conveniently located along my route to get my kids from school. By far the only pet store in LA I havent had good experience. They have plenty of options available for anything you want. But the store does a bad job when it comes to customer service. I couldnt find a product and tried to find the nearest employee that could help me, who ends up throwing attitude. Doesnt move an inch to help me after weve made eye contact and she recognizes that I need help. I had to walk across the shop to go talk to her and she didnt really seem to care about the questions I had. One word answers, THERE, HERE, GO!

Item from science diet wet food available for my dog older adult above 7+ is always hard to find anywhere else and very happy that petco has it available here at this location since its very close to my home. I ordered $115 worth of items be cause you offer curbside and since my son has an underlined health condition we are still very careful about being exposed. Your website says it offers curbside your recording at the store says you offer curbside and you have designated parking spots for curbside at your store location. Yet when I showed up to pick up my order I called a female picked up the phone and stayed you no longer offer the service and that I had to come into the store and hung up. I was furious but had no choice but to go inside and pick up my already paid for items. There were 10 people in line not all wearing masks, with one cashier I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to help me at you online purchase desk. I don’t think I will ever come back. Your competitors offer curbside and although they are a bit further I’d rather travel a longer distance to patronize a business that offers services that they advertise and who have better customer service. I was very upset the fact so many of your customers had no masks on and I was forced to enter that environment location that I have gone to get tested for COVID19. My results better come back negative or you will hear from me again!

Excellent service. I was having my dog groomed by Andrew snd Matthew, who provided excellent service. Andrew recommended products for my dog; greenies for teeth and a King curry brush. The sales representatives found the products for me quickly and were most kind. The cashier provided excellent service. All the staff were most kind and courteous as well as knowledge.

Worst customer service. I placed an order for pick up. One item wasn’t what I wanted so I tried to return it two minutes later. I didn’t even made it to my car. I was send to two different registers both made me feel very uncomfortable cause they couldn’t find my account with the phone number and the rewards card. Great store, one stop shop for whatever animal you have. We have two dogs and a horse and every time we need something they had it in stock at very reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and helpful. This store is the worst and I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere. I won’t dwell on the fact that it’s clearly dirty—very dirty—and instead discuss their lack of customer service. I’ve been to Petco stores all over the state and have found staff to be generally helpful and knowledgeable. Not in this location! On each of my three visits, I have asked for a product and been met by a cold stare from an employee; not only that, there is active disinterest on their part in being helpful or accommodating. I will never go to this location again, and I have lots of dog needs, as do both my sons who each have two dogs. I’ll share my experience with everyone I know and I’m hopeful that a new management style will somehow improve this store & bring back customers who have taken their sizable business needs to a friendlier and more positive environment.

My dog was neutered today and spent most of the day sleeping. It was not until 7:45, when the dog finally awakened, that I realized that the soft cone was too short. Hes a poodle with a long snout and immediately started licking the incision. I was concerned that he would be licking all night and that hed get infected. I contacted Petco, knowing that the store closed at 8:00. When I told the manager the problem, he told me that hed keep a register open for me in case I arrived after closing. I arrived right at 8:00 and they helped me pick out the right cone and rang me up at 8:06. Thank you, Louis, for being such a great store manager and helping me keep my dog healthy.

Decided to get muzzles for both of my dogs who have suddenly gone bad and want to snap at other dog. I just wanted those nylon wrap around ones not the big scary looking basket ones. When I came in with my problem, I right away felt like she actually cared and advised me in many things that ended up being so beneficial to my tank. Zero stars! I do not write reviews but this warrants one. My dog has been getting groomed at this petco for two years. Two months ago when I picked him up from grooming, on the way home my dog sat in my lap and my pants were full of blood. My dogs nails were bleeding from how short I cut them. I brought my dog to them to show them he was bleeding they stopped the bleeding gave me a free grooming and asked me to please coming back because they could see I had been coming here for a long time. I should have not given them a second chance. I call to make an appointment to be answered and placed on hold 3 times by different people. Finally someone gets my number saying the will call me in 2 minutes. 45 minutes later no call. I call back and make the appointment. I tried to let it slide and I shouldnt have. Here I am today, I dropped off my dog at 11:20 for his 11:30 appointment and was told it would take 4 hours. I have arrived to find out that my dog hadnt even started getting groomed. Why make an appointment if apparently that doesnt matter?! Couldnt I have just brought him in when they were going to start the grooming so he wouldnt have to sit in a cage all day! At this point there is no dealing with them anymore, they have received too many chances. Worst place ever, they should honesty get shut down or hire people that know about customer service.

If there was a minus 50 that would be my rating. As I await my vets diagnosis after having my dog groomed at the La Brea groomers for the first time. I’ve taken him several times t petco Robertson and they have been lovely. Cut t the chase is that my dog was injured and I will never know the reality of what happened. I just know he wouldn’t eat and when I would pick him up he was listless. 2 days of watching him sleep and be on a muscle relaxer. I called this morning and told an “Estella” the situation. After my last review of the Myras encounter with me, the store manager reached out to me and was extremely courteous and apologetic and informed me that he has been assigned to that store 10-days prior and he is going through staff training and teaching staff to be more sensitive to clients issues. Overall, I appreciated Ryan whom his level of care and courtesy calmed me and tried the grooming for another time. All is OK, thanks to Ryan Ray. I appreciate him and as I told him the store itself alway has 5 star for me. It was my two incident with grooming that was less than desirable. If anything can be changed in the grooming is to have the time period that the dogs are kept in the cage reduced to one hour from 3-4 hours. There is absolutely no reason to have an appointment and still keep the dogs for 3-4 hours in a cage! Hope Ryan can work on that. Thank you Ryan.

I stopped by this week to see what they had in terms of guppies. I’d been wanting a lyretail for a while but hadn’t seen many in the area and thought I would just take a look.Fortunately, I thought, they had one in stock and I bought him and brought him home. When I put him in my tank I noticed a spot on his nose that I hadn’t noticed from the angle I could see him at the store but because this store is well reviewed and I figured they probably medicate their tanks to prevent infections I really didn’t think anything of it.The next day I woke up to find this lyretail guppy dead. I brought him back and figured he just couldn’t handle the stress of the transfer... the next day I wake up to find a female guppy dead another female with her dorsal fin all white and rotted looking. I flushed them both hoping the Petco lyretail hadn’t introduced disease to my tank.Today I woke up to my female beta’s face all covered in fungus and half the body of one of my fancy tail males covered as well.I went to the store to ask if they could comp me the medication for introducing disease to my tank but the best they could do was a discount...So it looks like a $4 lyretail guppy from this place is going to cost me 5 fish and a bottle of medication. I’m very disappointed and will never shop at this location again. 😪

This Petco had everything I needed!!!I went to Hollywood they said there fish is on Quarantine?? WTFish!! & out of BloodwormsHuntington Park had barley any Fish???!! & no Blood Worm La brea Had it All!!! & sum!!

The customer service is not the best. If you call they hang up on you because they don’t want to pick up. Or they just won’t pick up the phone at all.

Super unhelpful staff at 200 South La Brea Ave Ste C, Los Angeles, CA 90036. They couldnt even go look in the back for a product I wanted. Will never shop here again!

Eh. The customer service in the store was wack. Nobody said hi, do you need help, nothing! I had more interactions with the customers in the store who helped me than the actual staff.

This is where I go for all of my pet supplies. I also went for their positive reinforcement dog training programs with Jack. He is great- very knowledgeable with lots of tips.
