I dont shop here normally because they are a bit pricey. More so than petsmart. But when i cant find nice doggie clothing or harnesses they have a much better selection.We recently got this little frenchie and hes was the runt of litter. So hes to big for the (xxs) but hes to small forb(reg small). But i found something that would fit him.

Quick and friendly service. The store is clean and doesnt have the usual pet store smell. Its a cute little Petco that we like buying our guppies from. We rarely ever have health issues with the fish. The staff here is always nice and theyre always ready to help.

I regret that I didnt get the nice gentlemans name who helped me. He walked me over to where the items were that I was looking for and remained with me and answered the many questions I had about the different products available. He was great!Rather tall guy

I always go there. Last time the clerk gave me a good tip on feeding my 19 year old Taffy Girl. She likes more liquids these days. So just add a tablespoon of H2O to the wet food it helps spread it out and you know they get the xtra water

You cant take your carts outside anymore?? This is so dumb, I bought 160 lbs of cat litter and Im supposed to carry it all out to my car one by one? The store is otherwise fine and employees have always been nice, but this is just dumb. Im young and in shape, but what about older people wanting to buy a couple big bags of food or litter? Rude staff! Never coming back with my dogs there. Vanessa said my dog was too big and she charged me more because she could not make him get up. Yes he is a 85 pound labrador! Maybe you need to train yourself how to get the dogs attention to stand up and walk.She also complained about my other dog small pomeranian because she had to brush her hair more.. since she had a not behind the ear. Ok but why you complained about it. Isnt this your job!!!Lame!!! Find another job that makes you happy!

Been here before and I’ve had to wait to get help but didn’t mind the wait. This time after being in the store for 20mins and after asking for help being ignored. Waiting another 20mins. Not going back anytime soon. Don’t shop here unless you have all the time in the world to waste.

They sent me like 4 reminder texts for my dogs grooming appointment in which they didnt say anything about a 10min grace period. I called them 5 min before the appointment to try and let them know we were running late but no one answered the phones. I get there 15 min late and they said they wouldnt do the service for anyone 10min late. Which makes no sense when their grooming service supposedly takes 2-4 hrs. How are you too busy to answer the phone when you should have been servicing our appointment that we were late to? And then when my boyfriend walks back in after we leave and he said they were talking bad about me because i complained that they dont answer their phones. Real immature and unprofessional. Had they answered the phone, i wouldnt have wasted my time getting my dog in the car. Dont go here if you are expecting good customer service. Or any service at that.Update: thanks for the meaningless generic response you give every bad review, petco.

If I could give a worse rating I would. The store might be fine but their veterinarian services are not. Not only did they make my cat wait an hour in a crate. They refused to give her the services requested. They were rude and uncaring once they decided they were not going to give the shot. Don’t go here. Waste of time and money.

Pick-up buyers BEWARE. The Petco website will say they have an item in-stock and available for pick-up, cancel the item from your order, and if you go into the store to buy an alternate, they will charge you full price for items listed as on sale on the website. You need find the item on their website, show it to the person working at the register, and ASK for the price match. They tried to change me 40$ for a bed priced at 23$ online. Please be aware of this practice at Petco so you do not get overcharged!

Love me some Petco! The staff are always funny and awkward at the same time! I like the amount of product but they dont have a large selection of small or large dog harness/collars or leashes/leads. Need spiked collars for minidogs and big dogs alike. Lol. The ladies that work at my local Petco are super cute but a lil awkward when stuck with small talk, just a heads up, we all dont need to be so P.C. and everything doesnt have to be about pets!! Very low amount of staff, but no sign that says they are hiring? They clearly need more staff, espically this location can get busy at times. With the lack of staff service is slow and it also affects the animals health. In the aquatic ceneter mutiple of tanks had dead fish. The poor bettas had very dirty and cloudy water. I saw a black dead clown fish it looked like he was dead for a while meaning nobody is taking care of them as they should. They were only three employees on the floor, the blondeish girl was very sweet and was very helpful. While one named Paul and a black hair girl was standing and just talking to each other. Went up to them and ask for some assistance and Paul gave me a very rude response Im busy about to do something. The crazy thing he claimed to so busy buy still was chatting with the black hair hair girl coworker and laughing for the entire time I was in the store. Very sad that employees rather chat then help constumers. But blondeish girl with yellow beanie so nice I pity for her not even her own co workers can help her. This petco needs to hire more nice people.

I continued to give this location my loyalty as a customer however within this past year I am always getting rescheduled or canceled. I have shown up and they have canceled day of. I never complained and always accommodate to what is going on. I have had to try to get in at other locations last minute and it does not always work out because of this. Today I was going to be late due to traffic I tried to call no answer from the store. I was about 9-10mins late and Vanessa canceled on me once again. Not to mention when I do come I’m waiting for them 15mins to even acknowledge I’m there for my appointment. No where in the Petco or web does it list that you have a grace period that you can not exceed. Vanessa said she could reschedule once again to a day that does not work. Desirai offered to do one of my dogs but not the other. After I said I was going to complain because they always cancel never answered the phone and we’re choosing not be understanding and have a common courtesy she told the other groomer Vanessa she would not be doing my small dog either. Horrible horrible customer service. Vanessa pointed out that she was wasting time for 20mins because we speaking to the manager Jacob. I took time off work to make this appointment. I appreciate Jacob but will not be returning for both of my dog’s vaccines or grooming.

Their curbside pickup process is so easy! I had very low expectations based on experiences at other stores/restaurants, but this place got it right. The parking spots for pickup were easy to find, instructions were clearly posted in front of the store so I didnt need to get out of the car, the store picked up the call right away, they immediately understood what I wanted, and someone came out with my stuff like they said they would. A very friendly employee brought out a big bag of dog food and other stuff I bought. Impressive.

First off, the older gentleman putting away stock was totally helpful and professional. I went straight to the point and I got exactly what I needed with his quick product explanation. Then ringing me up was a super happy lady with curly/wavy hair. I believe her name was Pascale? Awesome customer service radiated from her as she quickly rang me up. Liv is the best groomer I have ever had! Not only did she do a great job, but she told me a bunch of details that clearly showed how attentive and caring she was with my dog. I dropped my 14 yr old yorkie off at 9am for a 9:30 appointment. Desarai the groomer said it would be about 3-3.5 hours but she’d “try” to maybe be done earlier since he’s so small. But she did say she had two larger dogs ahead of him. Okay fine. At 1:00pm I went in to check on him. All that was done was a bath! It would MAYBE another half hour. Long story short, I left, with my dog with nothing done but a bath.I’ll never go to them or refer them to anyone.

Beware of the groomers here, dogs seem to have an intense disliking for them and I am of the mindset that dogs are insanely good judges of character. I don’t know if abuse goes on, or anything like that but my dog who loves everyone and everything including all other groomers we’ve been too, but he just turned savage when he saw the people there in the grooming salon. The store itself is pretty good though, with good prices and a great return policy as well as excellent customer service.

The customer service is usually awesome, except for one time when we had a cashier that seemed like he came to work a little too high to function. I purchased a dog vehicle ramp and unfortunately it was broken . I called the store and they promised to hold the other one they had in stock. When I went to exchange it, the new one had cob webs and looked like it had been returned. The sales associate pulled it out of the box and wiped it down for me (Im deathly afraid of spiders) and offered to carry it out to my car. She was super nice and helpful. The website was not user friendly, I was getting charged shipping at first even though I qualified for free shipping. I had to log out and refresh and I was able to have free shipping. I also wanted it sent to the store to get the 20% off but there was no option for that and that is why I decided to buy it on petco.com and not Amazon. This store has everything youll need weather you have dogs, cats, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, insects, or small furry rodents. Its pet friendly (please pick up after your animal) covid19 policy in place. The grooming salon is available with an appointment. This Petco is quite possibly the best one Ive ever shopped at. Clean store, helpful staff, healthy critters and a wide selection of high quality pet foods and products. I do enjoy the lack of ultra cheap dog foods that are ultimately, bad for your dog and Petco realizes this. I personally shop here for all my pets, and actively avoid Petsmart, and you should too! One of my cats was having trouble with being able to hold food down and had lost weight. The vet could not see him for 2 weeks so I went to Petco and was helped to find wet food that might help. I bought a few brands to try. My cat is able to hold food down and maybe has gained a little bit of weight. The store is great. best prices on the food we like to get for our pup. the Groomer there is also nice... but its prolly better to go to another place for that. They accidentally left cotton balls in our pups ears and we didnt realize it for a few days. Now, thats no big deal. I understand that mistakes happen, and I could tell the groomer really did feel terrible for it. so really- that was no big deal. we took our pup to the vet to make sure All the cotton was removed. petco agreed to cover that vet bill, without hesitation. Here is where it got a little sticky- actually getting that reimbursement was too difficult. we played phone tag. i went to the store 4 or 5 times just to be told only a manager can pay you back. and the manger isnt here. eventually we got reimbursed. but it took someone (who was not a manager lol) to get upset enough to just take cash out of the drawer and hand it to me. it was uncomfortable haha.but the do have the best prices. so its still where I shop.

Its full of over priced animal stuff from food to toys and the likes. I was in there for 40 minutes looking around for kitten food and collar...not one associate asked if I needed help! It wasnt very crowded so customer service is sorely lacking! Like most businesses nowadays theyre no different. Smh.

Came into the store today to get help in the fish department spoke to a woman named Kailee who was very rude and disrespectful she treated me very disrespectful I will never shop in the store again just because of her attitude I simply asked her if she worked in the fish department and she gave me this long spiel about how everybody works and all the departments which I did not need to know that at all in a rude manner but I can assure you if her store manager or district manager would’ve been standing in front of me she would’ve gave me excellent customer service then I got help from Paige she was half way OK after I told her that I was going to report both of them

She called Lady works in the fish department over to confirm and some how this lady got so upset with me. She tested water and told me that you are a fish killer, sir. We purchase pet supplies and have our dogs groomed at the West Sacramento Petco. We also attended multiple layers of dog training including the AKA award. Kristen Mercedes was our trainer but ahe moved out of the Sacramento area. The groomers and all staff always helpful and friendly.
