Animals kept in horrendous conditions :( over stocked aquariums and terrapin tanks, reptile tanks filled with uneaten live food and co habbed, small animals in tiny cages...would not recommend

I took my puppy (Bruno) to Petco on May 23rd, 2024 for a simple trim in the private area, but the groomer, Kim, left several cuts on his tail and removed half of the fur. I didnt notice this until I saw my puppy continuously licking his tail. Kim failed to mention anything about the cuts to my puppy before I left. This resulted in a waste of the $41 Petco grooming fee and a $10 tip.Upon further inspection, I found multiple cuts on my puppys tail, along with significant fur loss. This has left my cute puppy looking unsightly on his tail and back. I will not be returning to this Petco location for grooming services again. The poor experience and damage done to my pet is unacceptable.

Friendly and helpful staff.This location is always stock and rarely out of any supplies.They allow you to bring your pets in and have tester treats.The also have events where outside organizations bring in pets for adoption.

This Petco has always been great for me. Very nice helpful staff and Petcos name brand, dog food is fairly priced. My only customer suggestion would be that corporate figure out how to keep shopping carts in the store. Carrying 45 pounds bags to the counter isnt an experience I want to go through each time at this store location.

FANTASTIC Customer Service from everyone 👏 there. This is important to me, especially these days!Excellent variety of products for dogs and not all products are expensive, but all products seem to be of a good quality.Ive been looking and looking for a decent Dog, Water 💧 Bowl to put on the inside, of a dogs crate and finally found an excellent aluminum one. You can attach it to the inside of the crate, with the screws and clip it comes with. There are also different sizes of the same.I think it was about $13 or so dollars and is well made.They seem to have a good and large inventory of dog-related products.

I shop at this Petco location very often as I live nearby and have never experienced such a bad experience as I did today.I came in to the store 11/18 at around 8:45pm with an unopened bag of dry food that I had ordered earlier in the day through Instacart (the purchase was also linked to my Petco loyalty account). I explained the situation to the friendly lady, who had also greeted me when I came in, and explained that I needed to exchange the unopened bag for another one of higher price, she then asked me to select and grab the item that I wanted.After a couple minutes, I come back with the bag that I wanted to process the exchange for (which costed over $85). She pulled up my account and before completing the exchange, she needed the manager to override the exchange.This when Andre, the “manager”, comes in and without even saying hello, states that he won’t do the return because my proof of purchase is not valid “I am literally showing them the order confirmation and details from my phone”. I tried to explain the situation and reason with him, knowing that he can do the override and stop arguing, but instead he chose to go off to his employee (in front of me) trying to make her look like she doesn’t know what she is doing which really made her feel uncomfortable (I could tell by her face).If this is how Andre, this pseudo manager, treats her employees in front of customers I don’t even want to imagine how he treats them when nobody is looking…Awful customer service, manners and work ethics. I hope this person is investigated and made accountable for his behavior.I will definitely not be bringing my business to this or any Petco locations anymore.

I came in to buy a 40gal breeder but decided on a 55. Someone initially helped me find the tanks but when I needed help moving it (I’m tiny!) nobody was to be found. I’ve bought a 75 gal previously during this same sale and the cashier set me up w the vital plus plan for even more savings and I loved it. This cashier was horribly unhelpful and not friendly whatsoever watching me physically struggle w this tank while I was the only customer in the store and didn’t help me save or help me enroll again.

Petco has a lot of supplies we need to keep our doggies healthy. Both our dogs had issues with excess acid production that caused them distress to the point of effecting their appetite, causing them to throw up bile or the recently consumed meal.On the advice of our Vet we modified their diet to include a low fat gastrointestinal product by Royal Canine and suggested we break up their feeding schedule so they eat smaller meals more frequently. The combination has made a huge difference in them both! Healthy, weight control is great, and the smaller guy went from picky to voracious. Wow!Petco has played a major role in maintaining this regimen by making available foods that we used to have to buy over the Internet and now can find at our local Petco!

We went here for the regular rabies vaccine. The service was amazing!!! Everyone was really nice and attentive to us. They did a physical exam first and then performed the vaccination. It was perfect! The staff was so sweet to my cat and very professional! Everything was fast, I dont think my cat even realized that anything has happened. After the vaccine they provided us with the a list of possible complications and the vet clinics we could go to just in case. They also gave us a little bell for the color indicating that the cat was vaccinated. Its been 2 days and my cat is feeling well, no complications.Big thanks again! I really loved it and my cat did as well and would recommended it anyone to vaccine their pet here!

Nice location has been serving the West Valley for years. They have a good selection of aquarium products and they carry blood worms. On the weekends they also have cats available for adoption, which is pretty cool.

I looked and was amazed at how many healthy type treats there are today. I finally chose one and they loved it, they may turn up their noses to dinner but treats are gold to them. Woof

My Fiancé made a quick stop to the petco we go to all the time to buy our dog food, but today Jannina the manager was not very helpful or understanding let alone attentive. I called the store and spoke to her directly and she was straight to the defense mode, and thats not how you handle a stressful situation. You should have more compassion. Our dog was simply scared not being aggressive, and most of the time she is all bark. Shes a puppy.. we definitely dont condone our dogs to lunge at other dogs.

You need to be careful about choosing the tanks you buy fish from here.. there were 2 tanks of guppies one had a dead fish . So any dead fish is a indication that health of fish in the tank is not good or in case of guppies it is old

Petco near Topanga and on Ventura Blvd. the Ralphs super market is clean and have a variety of goods for your pets. Staff is professional, and hospitable, and are willing to answer your questions or find another staff to help. Also, having your receipt of purchase but need to return for refund without damage of product edible or a non-edible is without hassle; of course within time limit. There is reconstruction on the face of the bldg. and stores within the same shopping center so please be careful with parking. Enjoy

I stopped by this Petco location about 10 min before they closed as my turtle needed some feeder fish to feast on. I searched for 5 minutes in the aquarium section for someone to help me when i heard the announcement that they will close in 5 min. I go up to the cashier and ask for help. She says they are closing but at my insistence she gets the attention of a co-worker who was headed for the doors to leave. She says sorry I just closed that department. I ask if she could just grab a dozen feeder fish so my turtle can eat during this long weekend... without blinking an eye she said sorry we are closed. Mind you, it is still 4 min to closing time as I walked out of there totally disappointed.My turtle did not go hungry that long holiday weekend but Petco definitely lost a customer as this was not the first instance where the employees displayed proudly their lack of customer service skills and a total disregard for the integrity and the reputation of the store they work for. I would recommend any other Petco location or any pet store other than this one.

I have never waited in line as long as I did at this location. It took the cashier 10 min to call for backup and then almost another 10 waiting for them to get to the registers.I work retail and sadly they missed the mark. One good note the guy who finally helped me actually asked me about my fur babies and what I was buying for them. He made me forget for a second how frustrating it was watching the one cashier for almost 20 min take care of 2 people

I tried to get a price match for a crate that they had online. I found 1 that was the same Petco brand and was even slightly smaller than the crate Advertised. The cashier was really friendly but had to get approval. The Supervisor, Karen, refused to price match the crate I found. Really unfriendly. I just stopped in to pick up dog food and was there for an hour! I was helped by a girl named Megan, and she was so knowledgeable, patient, and efficient! She was busy the whole time helping customers and didnt get at all annoyed when I asked 1,000 questions about the precious, adorable bald Guinea Pigs at the front. You could tell the staff here cares about the store and the animals, both in their care, and the ones at their customers homes! The cashier was also very friendly. I don’t have time to write negative reviews, but I am so over of this Petco groomer, every-time I book an online appointment they call me and tell me that unfortunately we can not take your dog, since I always get the best and highest quality of grooming they are too lazy to put time on my chow chow. This was the third time that the same thing happened. I booked a service for my dog for next month from 3 weeks ago and I received 2 times call that we can’t get your dog. I just cancelled today and I’m glad that I will not have to deal with these lazy people anymore! If I get more work done I pay for it, what the heck is wrong with you guys that ask me to cancel my appointment because he has a lot to do! Also one more thing to add is that the groomer pick her nose while taking care of the dog!

A scam and all the girls working have no clue whats going on. Waste of my time. Once I got the total for everything was going to be $152 I left. While I have only visited this Petco for its curbside pickup and cant comment on the inside of the store, I can say the service from staff here is quick and friendly. Every time I call in to notify them of my arrival, staff are friendly and show up within a couple minutes. My only gripe in this whole online process is actually with the app which is kind of clunky. This store on the other hand is good and I will keep returning to for my pet needs.

Theres always a lot of animal lovers there, which is neat. I think that I must go at ultra slow times as the help is always hard to find. Id say that the last two times I was there, I left my purchase on the counter as there was no one manning the register. This is a top down problem, the corporate guys want labor costs so low that they dont allow the store to sufficiently staff the place. So Im sure your labor costs were in line, but your sales missed again, didnt they.

Saturday night. Many open parking spaces right at the entrance. The pace is almost empty so the employees relaxed and have time to answer all questions. Bought a 55 gal aquarium with florescent light, heater, power filter, net, thermometer all for 99 dollars. 30 years ago I was selling just the tank for 89 dollars. Another store the price was 500 dollars. This one was on sale. Also I returned several items without a receipt and they were in used condition and got a full refund without a problem.

We adopted a kitten from this petco per CATS AT THE STUDIOS not knowing the kitten was EXTREMELY ILL. having her for only 3 days we spent 1k on her healthcare because they dont take their kittens to the vet. we werent given any documentation or even a contract from the organization and the store didnt even have a phone number for them!! I am very disappointed that, despite the most current behavioral science research that supports positive, force free dog training, you continue to carry aversive training equipment like prong, shock, and choke collars as well as very unhealthy, undigestable rawhide. In addition, your employees are not very experienced or educated about the items you sell. For instance, a customer had just gotten a new puppy and had asked about food puzzles. The sales associate was lacking basic knowledge and I was able to provide assistance by showing the customer the Kongs and explained that you can stuff them and freeze them. The sales associate seemed appreciative of my knowledge and shared that he had no idea that the stuffed Kongs could be frozen!

I am incredibly disappointed in this Petco. My wife and I have a 70 gallon fish tank that is absolutely gorgeous. It contains mollys, guppies, Tetras, shrimp, live plants, cory catfish and more. For years, we have maintained a well-balanced tank ecosystem. So well, in fact, that our fish have reproduced several generations. We even have a nursery where we raise the babies until they can be released with the adults. My wife is a professional chemist so she maintains impeccable water quality in the tank.A few days ago, we learned that Petco was finally selling neon tetras post-quarantine. We wanted our blue neon tetras to have a more complete school so we purchased several neon tetras from this Petco to add to our school. (Again, a healthy tank is about balance).One ore more of the neon tetras that we purchased a few days ago were infected with Neon Tetra Disease. That parasite nearly wiped out our entire tank in days. It wiped out our entire nursery and as of today, weve probably lost 15 to 20 fish total. Its been a complete fish massacre. At this point, after twice weekly 50 percent water changes, I dont know which fish are still infected and which ones are not. Ive accepted that I may lose my entire tank. Literally, the entire thing. Gone.I get it, fish are fish but my wife is devastated. The tank brought her peace and car to enjoy it as well. I will never, ever, EVER purchase another fish from this store unless and until they have a system to identify sick fish and remove them from their sales floor. My 70 gallon tank, previously packed with gorgeous fish and a nursery full of babies is a fish killing field now and it all happened in a matter of days. I am just so disappointed.

I dont know about dog food, but if you try cat food and your cat doesnt like it you can bring it back and exchange it. I am so beyond thankful for that. My cat passed away last year so I havent been able to do anything. Except visit the Pet Adoption Fund in Canoga Park every weekend.

I came here just before we adopted a fully grown mastiff. One of the staff, Anthony, not only offered to help, but has mastiffs himself, so he was perfect for helping me with the necessary purchases. Ive been to every pet store in the area including other Petcos and their competitors. The Petco in Woodland Hills is special. All of the employees there are so kind and caring, the store is always in excellent condition and the training programs are run by great people. This spot is always my go-to for training classes or pet supplies, and Im so thankful that I have a pet store nearby where it feels like the employees care about my pet as much as I do.

I recently found a dog running down an extremely busy road in the area. I searched high and low for the owners and had no luck, so I decided to stop at Petco to pick up some food to hold the dog over until I could figure something out. The employees were extremely helpful, and once they found out my situation, they insisted on giving me enough free sample food bags for him so I wouldnt have to purchase any. They also gave me a discount on the dog shampoo I bought so I could give him a bath. To top it off, the dog decided to go to the bathroom on the floor in the store and they were so quick to let me know it was no problem and insisted that they clean it up. EDIT: their hamsters die way to fast. Fourth hamster in 7 months. I called them and they said i did everything right. But i have to use luck, they said.I found the hamster of my dreams!!!! I can cuddle with her, watch TV with her, shes amazing!!!!!!
