2024-07-01 17:12:11I noticed yesterday my AC vents weren’t blowing cold air and the temperature on the thermostat wasn’t going down. With the weather being so hot this week I knew I needed to get a professional out. I called in the morning and was happy to hear that I could get someone out in just a few hours. I ended up getting service quickly due to a cancellation within 30 minutes from my call. The technician Nick was very professional and knowledgeable. He troubleshooted the problem quickly and explained it easily to understand and showed me pictures of my unit with areas that needed repair. I’m very happy with my service and will use in the future. Thank you!

2024-05-12 02:30:08After getting at least three bids, we decided to go with Perfect Star Heating and Air for a total replacement of our 20+ year old HVAC system before the heat reached triple digits. From the start, Bob Caldwell was great to work with in understanding our Heating/Cooling needs, his communication throughout the entire process was excellent. Day of the install, our team of Jesus G., JT P., and Bryan A. completely knocked out our project in one day in very impressive fashion. The work was quality, they were very professional, and Jesus did a great job in troubleshooting our issues with Google Nest to get it to work with our brand new system. We are very happy with our decision to go with Perfect Star and our new Lennox unit works great!

2024-07-02 12:51:18Great service from my tech person Jason, whos knowledgeable and personable. I did have a glitch when I attempted to call for some follow up service - two out of three office staff were out due to emergencies. It took 24 hours to get a callback. Not really the companys fault, but still I cannot give a five star review. However, I will continue to use the company.

2024-05-30 18:22:14Perfect Star receives one star in my book. During the inspection phase of the purchase of my house, I had them install ducts. They failed to inform me of permits or HERS testing. Also sold me an air scrubber that I was told would be installed on the return duct. I was surprised when I moved in and found they installed the scrubber in the crawl space, which did not allow for proper monitoring of the bulb that needs periodic replacement. This forced me into their 6-month maintenance program, which I had to have a tech go into my crawl space every 6 months to assure it was functioning properly (at times it was not). Perfect Star reassured me time and time again that the install for the scrubber was in the best location. My furnace finally had passed its useful economic life and needed replacement. I decided to go with a different company. At that time, I contacted the manufacturer of the air scrubber and they verified that the scrubber had indeed, been installed incorrectly by Perfect Star. Also, with Perfect Star, you do not have the same familiar face coming to your property. Some are good, others were not so easy to communicate with.

2023-09-14 02:44:45I hired this company to replace the complete HVAC and duct in our house. After I found them in Google search and seeing their great reviews, I wanted to get a quote from them along with two other quotes. Keon came to give me a quote. He was very thorough on explaining different options and pricing. He took time to take any measurements needed and inspected our old system and duct in order to make sure he gives a fair quote. The representative from the other two reputable companies who came to give their quote didnt spend much time to inspect our old system but was more interested to sell their product and service. One of those companies even declined to replace our old duct and tried to convince me that there was no need to replace them even though the duct pipes are original and full of dust from last 50 years, explaining if AC and furnace are new then no need to worry for old duct. Perfect Star representative was very very knowledgeable, professional and didnt create any pressure to sell their services or products. The whole team who worked (Nick, Manuel, Anthony) in replacing our HVAC was extremely professional and quick. We are very happy with the our new AC, and we already started seeing our electricity bill this summer is way lower than other milder summer from previous years. I definitely recommend this company for any of the HVAC replacement or repair and maintenance work. Lastly, I wish all the best to Keon, who is one of best, very knowledgeable and professional technician in this industry.

2024-05-10 23:05:16Very sketchy and unprofessional company. Upon arriving and realizing that my husband wasnt home I was informed that they will not continue with their sales pitch and would reschedule to when he was home. Apparently, I cannot communicate to my husband the information adequately enough and both spouses have to be present so that they dont have to answer questions later and have to explain themselves again. I have never in my life had someone come into my home and tell me that I cannot possibly understand or be explained how they planned to do the work that I AM PAYING them to do. The technician kept saying well its a big investment as if I was unaware of it and kept back tracking trying to find other reasons. I have had several companies here and not one has ever insulted me and treated me with such low regard because I was woman. They have absolutely lost our business.

2024-05-30 05:01:47This is a company of scammers. I bought a house that has a new Lennox dual zone system installed. It was installed about 3 years ago. Based on the sticker it was purchased/installed from Perfect STAR.I called Perfect STAR and explained the problem: “… in heating mode, when 1st floor zone turned on only, it does not heat up…” I made a request for diagnostics for $115. As a result, the technician came and during the conversation he mentioned: “... I’m new to this company and have only been working for a few months...”. When he started the inspection, he started from the cooling mode. He said: “Everything is working well; nothing needs to be done.” I insisted that it should be checked in heating mode - the problem appeared. When the problem showed up, he asked me if I had instructions, to which I was very surprised. Why does a master or technician need instructions? You have a tablet where you can get all the information under your dealer account if you don’t know how. (why you do not know if you’re a professional technician). After that, he spent 1 hour on the phone calling different people about this problem (are you really a professional?), then after checking, he decided to pull out the Discharge air temperature sensor, which protects the system from overheating when heating or icing when AC, after that the system start working as expected. Then, the technician started to blame the installers of his company who installed this system for placing the sensor in the wrong place where it was not needed. (blame the company as not professional). As a result, the service was not completed, since the technician did not check the entire system, did not check all the necessary systems, did not even check the external unit. After 6 days, I called the company myself and decided to find out how things were going and what is the next step. I also explain the situation about the paid service that was not received. I got an answer from the manager that the sensor can be replaced under warranty (its cost about $70), but I must pay $200 for its installation (labor). I dont have a license to install it myself. He also suggested that the same nonprofessional technician will back (reject send someone else) and do the diagnostics again and install the sensor (why would I need a nonprofessional technician, especially the one I complained about). As a result, I called another company that checked the same thing and concluded that the sensor is good (no replacement required), it was just that the system could not work with fine anti-allergen filters, because... The air flow will not be enough.Updates:Thanks a lot. I got refund. But money is not a question. The main question is that when customer calls to the professional, customer expects professional and fair service, but not a tricky game. Please make improvements. Provide customer the checklist with what should be diagnosed, what included, and how it should be fixed(multi points inspection checklist).

2022-04-16 01:10:32Professor Chuck Anderson (who teaches HVAC courses) visited our home and interviewed us. He explained the pros and cons of different approaches and after listening to our requirements and answering all our questions he quoted us a complete Lennox HVAC system (AC and gas furnace) that was exactly what we wanted. He had all the equipment in stock and his team (Hung and Emanuel) arrived on time on the day of installation (and finished quickly). They were friendly, enthusiastic, and very professional and knowledgeable (thank you prof. chuck!). They laid down floor protection (it was raining that day), cleaned up when they were finished, and did not leave a single scrap of material (or any of the old AC or furnace or filters) behind. We were able to schedule installation very quickly (Chuck would have done it next day!) on a day that was convenient for us. The installation Hung performed was really a work of art and he was able to explain all the new features that would be up to the latest code standards. We also received new electrical hardwiring of the furnace, new gas pipe work (for the furnace), new condensate plumbing, and new through the wall wiring to a new thermostat. We also got a sturdy new pad for the outside AC unit. The unit fit perfectly in our small utility closet and the outside AC unit was positioned perfectly in our very small backyard (all new electrical hookup panel provided). Payment of the bill was made very efficient and convenient for us. System is very quiet, as promised. Emanuel worked inside our very crowded home and was able to reach all our high ventilation ducts that he carefully sealed in preparation for our upcoming city home inspection of ventilation efficiency (which Perfect Star sets up for us). Chuck trains his team well and gives them a very effective pep talk every morning (I might start attending his pep talks!). It really shows in the final service and product. I was also happy to hear that they have a shop where they can tear down all the large metal parts of my old system and recycle them. It was really a big load of old equipment that they disposed of/recycled for us. I was especially pleased that sales tax was included in the quote and the final payment matched the initial quote exactly. It is nice to have such a quality company in the neighborhood.

2023-01-11 01:19:50So I hired Perfect Star to install a new HVAC a couple months back, and they did a fine job, worked great, fair price, professional crew. Flash forward to today with crazy rain in CA, and I start getting a leak in my roof right below where the HVAC was installed. I called Perfect Star and asked if they can you come take a look. They show up 45 minutes after I call, and it turns out I just had over a foot of standing water on my ceiling because all 12 roof drains had clogged. Clearly not Perfect Stars fault, but Marvic the technician was happy to help. He spent an hour unclogging all my drains and saving my home from even more serious damage. Above and beyond does not even begin to cover this. I was a satisfied customer before, now I am a customer for life. I give 1000 out of 5 stars, which makes no sense, but neither does the kindness which Marvic exuded throughout. I am feeling extremely grateful that businesses with such a focus on service and customer satisfaction like this one even exist anymore. I now must go re-evaluate my world view.

2022-10-31 01:29:49Perfect Star did an excellent job replacing our heating and air conditioning systems with two TRANE heat pumps and re-ducting our two-story house. We are completely satisfied and give them five out of five stars. Continue reading for more details. The process started with Chuck, their sales guy. He’s very experienced and was determined to give us the best possible price, proactively making us aware of various discounts we could receive. He quoted us on one brand, but we were interested in TRANE. We had quite a number of quotes and e-mail discussions as I inquired about different equipment and related costs and benefits. He always replied quickly and didn’t show any signs of getting tired of my questions and requests. I’m an odd duck in that I was willing to pay a bit more for the most “green” and efficient system, even thought the payback might be slower. But we locked down the choices, and I paid less to Perfect Star than the other company I was looking at. Chuck got us scheduled for October 17th and allowed four days for the installation of the two 3-ton air handler/compressor systems and re-ducting 13 vents.Chuck arrived on installation day a bit earlier since I had to join a conference call early that day. We walked through the job. Then our two main technicians arrived as planned on time. Chuck made a good handoff to the installers and exited. Austin C. was the lead technician and his right-hand man was Ismael V. These two worked their @#! off, moving fast, totally focused on the work. They kept our house clean as they worked and especially at the end of the day. When I had any questions, they were happy to answer and explain. In every interaction, they were positive and friendly. I’m a skilled DIY guy and can tell you their work was clean.Their goal was to get the job done in three days. On the third day they did the ducting work as well as finishing up the equipment install. They brought in the troops, adding Mortin J., Keon G. and Preston S. They were under the house and in the attic, pulling out the old duct and putting in the new. We asked them to move one duct six feet over and they did that well. The last day went long, until about 6pm. Then Austin took me on the final walk through. The day earlier, I had noticed two minor flaws in the install of the outdoor condenser units. I debated if I should even mention it, not wanting to be too picky. In the end, I decided to say something. When we got to that part of the walk through, I was surprised and delighted that they had already noticed both flaws and fixed them. The AC worked great from the start. But two days after install, when it got a bit cold, we tried out the heat. It didn’t work! I called Perfect Star HQ, and 35 minutes later Danny, one of their technicians, pulled up to our house. Fast! It turns out it was a thermostat setting (that honestly, I may have unknowingly messed up). He showed me what was wrong, corrected the setting, and voila, heating worked. Danny also adjusted some attic ducting dampers they had put in (we didn’t have that before, and I didn’t know they would add in dampers, but I guess its their standard practice) so the air would come out in a more balanced fashion. In retrospect, maybe they could have done a bit more “thermostat training”?Overall, this company is determined to please their customers. And they certainly succeeded in this case. We highly recommend them.
