The pedant behind the counter took it upon himself to tell me that I was not allowed to park in the designated bike parking because he was forced to put a table in front of the bike rack placed there specifically for the purpose of locking up bikes. He proceeded to tell me that we had to move our bikes so we went out and moved our bikes to another bike rack nearby. In the process of moving our bikes, he continued to harangue me and my husband as we complied with his request. I did my best to ignore him and turn my back on him but he just continued harassing me. It was a very unfortunate experience, but certainly should not deter you from visiting this Petes coffee. The rest of the staff is quite wonderful and the food is good and the coffee is terrific.

This is a 5 star rating for the staff and the people that thrive in Emeryville. I lost my gym sack yesterday and someone kind enough turned it in. I had over $300 worth of items in there too since I just made purchases Sunday. Thank you to the good-doers out there. Thank you for always being friendly and having my drinks timely and made just how I like it. I highly recommend coming to this location.

Wow!! What a great place to get coffee!! The greeting with a smile shows you made the right choice!! To have a Fresh Ground and fresh brewed coffee for under 5 Bucs feels like I hit the coffee lottery!! Tastes great and was treated so well, I will come back everyday that I’m here visiting! I found my people! Thanks to the crew!!Update: Tried the Horchata cold brew with oat milk and DELICIOUS!!! I ordered a small but I should have got a large because it was that good!!Thanks again to the crew!

This was my first time at this Peets. The coffee was incredible as usual. I really liked the layout and size of this coffee house. There were small tables for work scattered throughout as well as some more comfy seats and tables to sit and have a conversation.

I come here typically on at least a weekly basis, sometimes every other day or so. One of the more gregarious barristers greets me on a first name basis which is sweet. Ive always had good service at this coffee shop. Also, its great having WiFi! One of the customers even lugs their desktop computer here. At least, I saw it a couple of times he may have been told to stop. However, what Im trying to say is that they are generally very friendly and considerate of their customers and it shows. It also helps that Peets coffee tastes better than Starbucks 😏.

My visits to this Peet’s location remain consistently pleasant. The store seems to be a reflection of the standards the manager sets in motion. This team is always lively, and considerate. Store can get loud at times, so they always make a point to communicate with customers as they wait for their bar beverages.

Service was great. Food selections were very good. My wife and I both enjoyed our sandwiches and we shared a vegan muffin that was warm and surprisingly delicious. Even though my wife enjoyed her latte, my coffee reminded me why I don’t go to Peet’s. But hey, I’m out on a road trip and I’ll take one for the team.

Dont come to Peets for the food, but for coffee, a super chill atmosphere, and some of the best whole-bean coffee in the world, this is the place. Also, the service has remained top notch even through the pandemic. The same cannot be said for the competition.

Not a bad location, pretty cold at times and sometimes full of strange people with big computer equipment but a good spot to study/ work none the less. Staff are nice and the bathrooms are the public market ones so always super clean and there’s more than one so unlike in most Pete’s you don’t have to wait or anything

I like Peets Coffee a lot. They always have what I need. Customer service is friendly. The store is always clean. It is in a very convenient location. And the product is very good. The only drawback is the parking can be a little bit tricky in that area. However they do have inside seating for people to come and drink their coffee, use the computer, or whatever people like to do. Read, talk, Etc. I will be back.

NEW 03/09/2023: I am going to increase my rating of this Peets coffee to four stars. The quality of service continues to improve. Also, using my Peets app, I order ahead and my coffee is up and ready when I arrive w/o having to wait in line.09/26/2018: Had forgotten the original review. The quality of service has improved at this Peet’s though there is still the high turnover rate. I think this is the “concept store” that is right near the Peet’s HQ, meaning it has the latest and greatest of Peet’s offerings. Service was quick and coffee was good (exactly what I usually expect from Peet’s). The store was also really busy - about two dozen people seated - most of whom were working on laptops. There also is a big area dedicated to coffee roasting equipment and lots of different types of beans but I didn’t get to experience that on this visit.

This is actually a unique Peets Coffee. It is the only Peets in the world that has the custom cup. For the same price as a regular cup of coffee, they will grind up any of their roasted beans that you see on the wall and pour you a fresh cup of drip coffee. This location also seems to have better-tasting cold brew than most others. The staff here has always been very friendly. Even if only for the custom cup service, this location deserves the 5-star.

Peets is my go too spot when I really want to enjoy a good cup of coffee. I am always impressed by how fast the lines move. Peets sets the highest standards. My only wish is that they would bring back the older Teas that they used to provide. Mighty Leaf is good stuff, but Peets discontinued Teas were the best.

Very nice place close to many other eateries. Ive frequented this place at least 10 times in the last 3 weeks. The coffee is very good. The staff were friendly. At times they may seem inattentive but in my opinion it is because they are super busy. My regular place when Im in the area.

Ive been to many Peets but this was just blew my mind away! The interior is just amazing! Once you walk in, the right side is filled with coffee beans of all sorts and if you want to customize your own coffee... NO PROBLEM! And when I mean customize, they will grind your coffee bean, do the drip brew thing (Im not sure what its called) and BOOM! Your cup of joe is ready!It has a high ceiling and lots of seating to chill and be a hipster. Customer service is great!

Ive been coming here for over 2 years, and it is great! The staff is super friendly the coffee is actually good and they also have great tea. Theyre pretty flexible and knowledgeable with things so you can definitely ask your picky questions Haha. Although Peets doesnt have frappuccinos they have really good lemonade/tea drinks! And rich Javivas! Peets in general doesnt use alot of sugar and this location is really good about keeping their same taste.

I was so glad to find this Peets when I had to spend a couple of hours waiting for a train. Ordered my usual double espresso and whatever is most chocolate (another usual order for me) and settled into a lovely and cozy spot in this wonderfully attractive location of the coffee chain. Great service and quiet but politely friendly clientele made the hours fly by pleasantly. When it was time to Lyft over to the train, my phone and laptop were fully charged and I was pleasantly caffeinated. Thanks, Peets.

Peets has finally gone to the dogs. The German parent company (JAB) has run this company into the ground, trying to squeeze every penny out of this place. They cannot even ship their coffees in a timely manner and the customer service is nonexistent. I have been a decades long customer, but NO more. There are better roasters around. Good luck JAB, you ruined a good thing.

Ive been going to this Peets and many others all over California for quite a few years. This branch, by far, takes the trophy and I would have given it more stars if that option was available. The place is always clean and the staff are all polite and very professional, andI dont think that this is all by accident, but rather the result of an extremely hard working and competent managers work (Deanna), who has been running this store for a few years and runs a very tight ship, and I witness, every day, how she leads by example as any great manager would do.I wish Peets would take some steps to improve their other branches as well.For example; today I was in the Monterey branch and what a difference!!!The stores windows were very dirty and when I asked for some salt for the egg that I had purchased, the staff who got it for me, threw them on the counter in the rudest manner possible, rather than handing them to me! What a difference a few miles make!!!!!

I love the mocha ...but they have their WiFi suppression cranked so hard my laptop barely works on their WiFi and it blocks my phone also...even my phones hotspot. NEVER seen anything like it. Dont even think of parking your bike next to the table that sits outside. The manager keeps the table and all space around it reserved.Response to Peets: First, the point of the bike racks is for bikes, not as a backstop for your table. Cyclists or scooters should be able to use both sides of the rack. Second, we have been asked to not park our bikes at that rack so that the person who regularly sits there can park their scooter there.

This is not my favorite Peet’s even though I love Peet’s. They got some strange personalities at this location. I make it a point to never drink alone that’s right my coffee, not my tequila and there’s a homeless person I occasionally see and like to buy a cuppa coffee for and when I came the staff question who am I buying my coffee for, but they didn’t question anyone else in line this was inappropriate. Today I came and the barista was finishing my drink and I told him he could leave the lid off and he said it’s complicated. It’s too late as he was trying to force the lid on and it wouldn’t fit. Come on now you don’t have to insult my whole intelligence I have eyes to see and ears to listen. I just don’t mesh with some of the staff here and their personalities are quite know it alls. The first time I was uncomfortable with the lady who took my order because I observed her being nice to the guy in front of me but when I came to the window she rushed me I’m just saying what do you got to do treated equal here when you come almost every day.
