Super friendly staff. Was buying some bottle of wine for clients and the security detail was keeping an eye on me. I can respect that. Doing his job well. All in all, get great savings here as a member, ample parking and actually has human beings at multiple checkouts to assist you. So its always quite quick for a large box grocery store.

They need to monitor this parking lot better. I shop at this Pavilions and the lot is always jam packed. Then when you go inside there are like five people total in the store. I know they share the lot with Panda Express but I cannot imagine theres a 20-person wait for Orange Chicken at 10 in the morning.People just park here and walk around Montana for hours!I have found a spot next to a unique vehicle, done my shopping, gone home, realized I forgot something, returned to the store, bought more groceries and returned to my car to find the same unique vehicle in the same spot, two hours after I originally saw it. Theres no way they are in the grocery store for that amount of time.Pavilions! I know you arent reading this! But PLEASE patrol this lot for parking bandits. Some of us like buying a lot of food at once so the car is a necessary evil and it would be better if we could actually park in your lot!

Essentially, the Vons with higher prices, a cleaner store, slightly more upscale selection, and way safer fellow clients to shop around (at the Vons on 14th, I’m often concerned for my safety). That said, the cashiers are painfully rude. Also, few checkout lanes; thus, you will wait. Per previous reviews, the parking is very tight.

I am a Uber eats delivery driver, who receives request every day and hour from customers to shop and pay for their groceries. Every-time that I walk into this store at this Santa Monica location, one of the supervisors named Candy continues to direct her associates and security guards to follow and harass me around in the store. I’ve been coming here for Uber Eats for the past year and was told by the stores former security guard, who I bumped into out of the store, that Candy and others told her to “follow that black guy around and to keep an eye on him”. I was also told by her current employees that she does order others to watch me based off of the color of my skin. Since I’ve been coming to this store for Uber Eats within the year, all of the associates and guards are aware that I’m a Uber eats delivery driver, and I even show them the app and barcode at the cash register, confirming that I work for the company. But no matter what, Candy still continues to show discrimination towards me as if I’m coming in there to steal. Yesterday while I was talking on the phone using my apple AirPods Max, she sent out her security guard and her associate to follow me constantly in the store, pretending like I’m about to steal. There was a time that I had even asked her a question on where to find an item and she didn’t even look me in the face nor answer my question. I am sick of the ongoing discrimination at this store and am warning all African Americans before entering this store to be on the lookout for this kind of behavior. And am asking the owner for this establishment to take major action to end this kind of discrimination.

This location is clean. The employees are friendly. There is a great selection of foods I havent seen at other markets. The food looks and tastes fresh and delish. The produce is better than other local markets.

Well, they were stocked, even under non pandemic conditions. I found what I needed quickly. Friendly staff and excellent shopping experience. All employees are wearing masks.The location is convenient—free parking right in front of the store.

The new manager, Esmeralda Morales, is an awful human being. She does not have any customer service skills & treats customers like garbage. Do not shop here!!! I had a great relationship with the previous manager, Mark. I work across the street & had an issue with a neighbor who was charged with indecent exposure to me so Mark agreed to let me safely park in the pavilions parking lot, where I have been parking for over 5 years, everyday.Yesterday my car was towed & it cost $470 to get out. When I realized my car was gone I asked to speak to the manager & Esmeralda came out. Immediately she had a snotty facial expression & when trying to explain to her the agreement I had with Mark she was shaking her head no…no…no…I asked her what she is shaking her head about & she said she’s been working there for a year & didn’t recognize me. I’ve been shopping there almost everyday for over 5 years as well and know plenty of the staff & Starbucks employees. I came back to work to find my colleagues car was also towed, she went to speak with the manager too & Esmeralda was rude to her saying “I don’t care” when my colleague said she can’t afford to get her car towed. This woman is NASTY, inconsiderate, rude & lacks any kind of human compassion. It would have been a whole different story had they put a warning on our cars & we could’ve talked to her about my previous agreement & see that we are good customers & their neighbors. When we went to pick up our cars, warning letters were on the windshield, yet they towed them the same day anyway. I hope she gets fired & she should get a job at the tow truck place where she can spew her nasty attitude to all the unfortunate & angry customers who have to pick up their cars. I’m certain karma will bite her where she deserves.

I was a loyal customer of Pavilions on Montana but recently their service is so unfriendly. I went and brought expensive wine in the locked up refrigerator section. The staff came and opened it for me and he put it in my cart. I said let go together and check out and pay first then I can continue to shop more. Without any facial expression, he said that he had to bring it up to the cashier and leave it there. I said I can pay for it now. He said sorry that’s their procedure. Super unfriendly. I said if you don’t want me to pay for it now, then it’s fine. I just want to express that their service staff always seem unhappy, unfriendly and unpleasant recently… never going to shop there again! I have moved to Bristol Farm on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica!! Bristol Farms is by far the best!!!

Saturday evening, August 5, 2023. Huge line at the only open checkout, because, its Saturday at 7:45pm, and people are buying alcohol. First off, Katherine R. was handling it like a pro!! My fiancé and I recently (Saturday at around 9:30pm) visited this Pavilions to pick up some cat food. Our shopping experience took an unexpected turn when we noticed a security guard tailing us throughout our visit. While we understand the importance of store security, it became uncomfortable and unnerving to be followed down every aisle and even during our checkout process.What puzzled us even more was witnessing instances of drunk individuals climbing on the shelves and homeless individuals wandering around the store without any noticeable intervention from the security staff. Despite these disruptive occurrences, the security guard seemed fixated on us, making us feel singled out and targeted, despite doing nothing to warrant alarm.Unfortunately, our visit to this Pavilions fell short of these expectations due to the constant surveillance we experienced. We will not be returning since we have never experienced this degree of discomfort while simply shopping for cat food.

A store attendant came up to me and my dog asked all the illegal questions about my service dog. At first she said that the store only allowed service dogs. I replied that my dog is a service dog. She proceeded to ask me if I have verification ID with me. I said no. She then said next time I can take a picture with my phone and provide proof that way. She proceeded to say that my dog is sniffing food on the ground and thats not what a service dog would do. I asked: are you implying I am lying? She had no words. Pavilions - would you train your employees to handle this with compassion? Her actions were illegal in the state of California. I felt absolutely bullied in your store.

Limited selection. Prices are often mislabeled or missing altogether. The app is glitchy. On the very rare occasions I have complained, they act annoyed. No, I don’t care about 72 cents on one item, one time, but when you notice frequent mischarges for years, its just wrong. The produce and meat department guys are friendly and helpful.This is an update to my previous post above. I went there again today for the first time since my original post. I was almost overcharged $1 more than the displayed price on an item. I caught it, left all my items, and walked out. Its unfortunate because I live only a few blocks away, but I refuse to continue to be ripped off. Ive spoken with my neighbors and they also have frequently been overcharged. In one case over $10. Ive been shopping here for years, and for years I have noticed these price discrepancies but once home Im not going to turn around to complain about 50 cents here, or a dollar there. Like my neighbors I have continued shopping there out of convenience, but Im going to avoid moving forward. These overcharges are so consistent—nearly every visit—that I have to question if you are intentionally fleecing your customers. Incompetence or fraud? Either way you are nickel and diming this community and its awful.

One of the best supermarkets Ive been in. The staff is super friendly and helpful, jumping right in the moment they see you struggle with anything. Amazing selection of food, decent selection of bathroom supplies. I think in total they only carry like 6 different kinds of toothpaste, and one kind of bug bite treatment. But, they have all kinds of fine cheeses and wine.

Griffith is a very rude little employee who should be schooled in customer service skills. Corporate management should take notice of the awful people skills of this employee. He has a nauseatingly awful attitude towards customers and does not belong in a customer service position. If you’re in a customer facing job you should act like it! Griffith is a weak link in workforce chain, a poor choice in staff.

I am not the first person here to give him this review and I won’t be the last.And notice, Pavilions will respond to every complaint with: “Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. I only go to this store because its closest to my apt. The aisles are too narrow, the displays take up precious space and get in way of carts. The produce is saturated with water sprayed on it. Prices are often missing from shelves. When I want better selection and quality food I go to Ralphs.

The selection isnt bad. However, the floors are always dirty, which makes me wonder about how clean the food prep areas, produce and fish actually are.Its a convenient location nesr my work. Customer service is uneven and varies from day to day. Prices are a bit high compared to Ralphs.Lastly, for its location on Lincoln Blvd and Montana Ave, I would expect that the store would be more aesthetically pleasing. It wouldnt hurt to renovate the place so it looks more modern and get better fish and produce whilst they are at it.

Even when not past due, you will find that almost everything you purchase is much older than the stock at other grocery stores. Given the exorbitant prices, the poor quality of the stock is inexcusable.As for rudeness, today a cashier named zydre decided to be especially churlish and demanded my ID. Im 58 with gray hair, so this sort of pettiness is clearly malicious. Zydre wanted me to know that she held me in utter contempt and went the extra mile in an attempt to humiliate me in case I was missing the rest of her insulting conduct. Mission accomplished zydre! Ill let the corporate folks know that they have an executive candidate in you. Unfortunately, zydre is exactly the type of cashier that drove me to using the self-serve as much as possible, and she is far from the only one.

Theres just too many things wrong with this place. For one thing, it seems that every single trip without exception includes an item scanned with the wrong price. And these are not random errors - the never favor the shopper - me. Ive come to expect it, look for it, prepare for it and I still dont like it. They once gave you double the difference back when that happened. That was a long time ago. The place is tiny, an old store with an ancient footprint, so its cramped, crowded, and has a very limited selection. And long lines at checkout, no matter when, no matter what. If its the dead of night, and theres only 3 people shopping, theyre all in line and its a slow line, possibly because of the scan errors. And its dirty. Filthy, actually. Ive not taken to washing my purchases, along with myself, when I get home. Not just fruit, but packaged stuff - milk, ice cream, canned goods, whatever. Everything in there is dirty, including the conveyor belt at checkout. Its strictly a last resort, but Im afraid its convenient location means I resort to it more than Id care to.

The Pavilions off of Montana that I went to is basically quite clean and has ample parking. It also has a Panda Express that it shares with a good little Bakery and Mexican fast food counter top. This Pavilions has things kept in pretty neat and clean order but does not have the discounted meats and such that you will find at the regular Vons grocery stores in the area.

Although the place looks spiffy and modern after the remodel, I was disappointed to find expired cole slaw in display cases. The sell by date was November 25, and I was shopping on December 7. I talked to two employees about it, but there was no sign that anything was done. This can be a health concern as coleslaw is subject to spoilage and can cause food poisoning. Be careful shopping there in terms of expiration dates!

Me and my son were paying for our groceries. My son was standing by bagging area excited for his chocolate treat trying to reach it once it got scanned. The guy at the cashier grabbed that chocolate back from him and said dont play with that. Then he added something is wrong with that kid. The parking spaces are too narrow. The Starbucks coffee bar is wasted space. There is one less than 100 yards to the West and many other coffee shops on Montana Avenue, the space should be used for a salad bar.Fresh bread and bagels used to be available by 6:30 a.m., now at least an hour later. If you like poppy seed buns, too bad, no special requests. Be careful to check the expiration dates on the milk. I shop at Ralphs most of the time now. One good thing. Plenty of 🛒 in two sizes.

By far the dirtiest, messy store with old freezers and no lights on them. Bad temperatures, glass doors are so foggy you cant see whats inside. Very unorganized and you can not find a good selection of products at all. Hated my shopping experience.

Encountered the absolute rudest cashier in this universe. Her name is Nia (this old and disgruntled lady). I had my small dog with me (He’s an emotional support dog and I had my papers with me) and this other guy behind me in line did too and she made a snarky comment about banning dogs. I ignored her and as she checked out my items, she THREW them. This Pavilions would be nice if it weren’t for this rotten human being.

For the experience, the product selection and the pricing, this grocery store doesnt quite fit in with its neighboring retail establishments on Montana Avenue. This store hasnt innovated or changed the layout in years, so it feels a bit dated and out of touch with customer needs.Heres the truth of it: 95% of the time, I will drive 40 minutes round-trip to Trader Joes on Pico instead of the simple 2 minute drive to Pavilions.Ill start by saying that some of the staff members are absolutely wonderful and work hard to create a pleasant grocery shopping experience. Robert always offers to help bring my groceries to the car and we had a nice conversation! I had an unpleasant experience last week with a gentleman who was working in the produce section who was ranting that Christmas was a corporate holiday intending to reap mass financial rewards for big companies. He was ranting to himself and spouting negatively aloud about the world coming to an end. It was weird. Does he know he works for a big company?I do like that this Pavilions location is engaged with local community efforts, such as fundraisinf for the Napa and Sonoma wildfires in the fall, as well as the recent Thomas and Skirball wildfires. The cashiers usually will thank me for the donation, but not always. It would be great to know how much they raised at the end of the fundraising campaigns!Parking is super easy here, which is rare in the area. Its a disappointing grocery store experience, so I recommend going to Trader Joes.Things to note:- There is a tiny gluten free section- Its impossible to reach any of the seasonal decorations or items stored above the freezer aisles- The products dont quite feel or taste fresh- Tiny selection of nuts- Their handmade deli sandwiches are pretty good

Employees of Pavilions on Montana ave, Santa Monica, CA constantly delay the service, lousy customer service and improper gesture is used and long lines are observed. Supervisors and managers are involved in mass improper actionStores are considered places of public accommodation. In other words, the primary purpose of a store is to sell food to the general public, which necessarily requires susceptibility to equal protection laws. Simply put, stores that carry a Right to Refuse Service sign are subject to the same laws as stores without one.
