Awesome venue, very big, open space. Firestone Beer festival was great, it was hotter than usual so am glad they had mist machines otherwise Id caution you to make sure to bring water, hat and sunblock. I would love see a rodeo here, seems to be geared towards that kind of event.

Visited the Mid California Country Fair. This was great. Free shuttle around the city. Many attractions. Live stock. Concerts. Clean restrooms. Only food prices were ridiculous. Don’t go there hungry

I love coming here.. I dont mind driving there from out of town. A few hours is nothing in order to experience the Mid State Fair or concerts here. Even driving the horrid 46 to get to the coast is worth it. I just take my time. The atmosphere is wonderful and its a beautiful experience and location and the weather is always great in July. The food is amazing, and you can get a little bit of everything from BBQ chicken to ribs. Mexican food 😋 and other types of delicious foods are all around. Even a famous corn dog with mustard and a Coke. Funnel cakes to Cotton Candy, and sometimes I get lucky and find that pink popcorn in a package that I would would eat from my childhood. We cant forget the rides and all the goodies you can purchase from vendors. My mom and grandma love to go just for the shopping 🛍 🙄. Its a must to experience this place when the mid state fair comes along or just comes to this place when an awesome concert is being held here.

Mid state fair is always fun, but also hot. Typical fair food options. Cinnamon rolls are great, BBQ TRI tip sandwich and pulled pork sandwiches were large portions and pretty good although expensive. Park off-site and take the shuttle in which is free and faster than waiting for traffic after a concert for sure.

Always a good show, staff is great. Fun to go at least once. Parking can be difficult and expensive, but plenty of free shuttles around town. We take the shuttle from Lowes. Plenty of food options, atms inside, vendors and concert choices either free or paid.

We were there for the Firestone event which was fantastic. The grounds are excellent, lots of facility spaces, beautiful grounds, clean and well kept up. Walking distance to downtown.

When in Rome, ya know?Well, let me tell you, the city definitely made a guap from this event!!Pay for parking $20 per vehiclePay for entrance:• Adult (Ages 13-61): $14.00• Senior (Ages 62+): $12.00• Youth(Ages 6-12): $10.00• Children: Ages 5 and under are FREEPay for shows/concerts $$Pay for food, drinks, merchandise, rides; basically, pay for everything!! I wonder if the vendors had to pay to got a spot inside?Although the fairgrounds we paved, it was very dusty and you came out with dusty feet after walking around. If you ventured near the animals, be sure to clean the soles of your feet before getting in your vehicle. LolIf you want to experience the fair just to say you went, then definitely go. However, Id recommend spending your money elsewhere.

Parking was easy to find the day I went. Entrance fee was reasonable. The types of food and fun was great for kids to senior visitors. Prices were in line with a fair and food and many types of beverages available. Space to cool off was provided and lots of shade.

My buddies and I attended the Firestone Walker Beer Invitational Beer Fest this year again. The Event center was great. There was plenty of beer and food. There was hydrating stations throughout. We will definitely be coming here again next here. We always have a great time. Enjoyed the food and the beer.

Had a great experience at the Cowgirl Christmas on the Paso Robles Fairgounds. Very organized and friendly staff. The accommodations made it easy to set up and take down after the show. Always open to answer any question we had.

I see big headline acts at this facility during the California Mid-State Fair every year. The venue is easy to get in and out of. All the seats are good and you cant say that about every venue. I routinely get seats on the side of the stage in the bleachers and the sound is fantastic from there. You can see the artist clearly and the video screens are visible from everywhere. Lots of bathrooms though I always see lines for the ladies. But all in all, its a great place to see a show. Clean, easy to get around, helpful staff. Good well behaved crowds. Totally kid friendly

The CA MId State Fair is our favorite. Lots of exhibits, shopping, food, rides & great live entertainment (we love Country Music). Great people watching - of course & we feel that the crowd is real - just do it!

Lots of fun, typical fair offerings in food and rides. Some unique things (a private zoo in one of the pavilions with a porcupine and bald eagle) and the place seemed so much cleaner than other fairs Ive attended. Entertainment is usually better than most fairs as well (Florida Georgia Line, Demi Lovato), but you must pay separately for the concerts. The only reason I didnt give this 5 stars is 1) it is HOT there (and this fair runs in the heat of summer), though they do their best to run misters and fans in various places (they could use more hydration stations - I only found one in the Good Ol Burger joint) and 2) they didnt have their act together helping the barrage of people get out of the main parking lot after the concert we attended on night one this year - we waited at a stand still for over 30 minutes before officers came to regulate traffic. Otherwise, great fun!

We went for the Rhone Rangers event. It was so much FUN! There are a vast array of choices, so my advice to you is to choose wisely and drink a lot of water. Remember you really can’t taste anything after a while. So walk the event, and then go back to the ones you want to try.

Can someone tell me where the pies and cobblers are that I keep hearing so much about??? :)FINALLY found them after waking about. They are in the main walk way, in front of the entrance to Jimmys - you cant miss their adorable trailer - and you should most definitely stop off and try some of the fresh baked goods! Pies, cobblers, cookies - THIS is true, old fashioned DELICIOUS Fair food!

The concerts are great here. 2023 fair is a joke. If you dont buy a fast pass for carnival rides, expect to wait in line for at least an hour per ride. You have to purchase wristbands to play games, and it comes out to $14 for one round of each game. The balloon dart one requires 4 rounds to win a prize. $56 for a stuffed animal is ridiculous. They should go back to the previous carnival company they used. I would have given 1 star, but they had old west cinnamon rolls & hot dog on a stick.

Always enjoy the fair during their 12 days visit to our little town. We went to this fair. 1st time and will be our last. First of all this fair should be held in the Fall way to hot. Not much shade or places to sit. Secondly way too expensive and I could say more about this. See your favorite bands ANYWHERE but this fair!

My first time visiting Paso Robles. It was a pleasant experience ☺️ my family decided to go to the fair and clear water revival concert. It was awesome. Everyone seem to be in good spirits and enjoying themselves. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The restrooms were clean and satisfying. The Law Enforcement were very respectful and on top of everything going on. which made everyone safe from Me and my family stand point. Will visit again definitely. We were very impressed. reminded me of our sheriff department in Santa Barbara County. They always have worked and taken the time to get to know the people our community. Santa Barbara and Goleta always have given our sheriff Department a Great Deal of Respect.

This little big fair has been around for a long time. Pretty much the same every year. Once you have been here once, youve seen it. We dont go every year as things are extremely over priced. But hey its the fair. And the vendor booths are outrageously priced so of course they are going to pass it onto the patrons.Parking can be anywhere from $5-20 depending on how close you want to be. Word of advice, to save on parking, park 3-4 blocks away and walk there. Ticket prices are slowly creeping up but they do give free concerts on the smaller stages and thats worth the entertainment.Food does lean on the pricey side but you will probably only go once. Choose wisely on what you get. Its decent fair food. Anything of alcohol has definitely gone up in prices. And the prices are the same throughout the park.There are rides for those that like rides. You can get an unlimited ride pass but there are lines.For the games, they are making you buy a card with points and thats what you use at each booth. But its hard to know how many points you need if you want to play multiple times.They try to get big names for the grand stage. And they usually do a good job. Its not their fault if a singer backs out.Theres plenty of a variety of vendors in the big buildings. But not as many as I have seen in the past.Overall, if you havent been, suggest to go once.

I love that there is free parking at various business through out the city with a free shuttle to the fair. The bus drivers to and from the fair were very nice and helpful. Once in the venue, most places are inside or have shade, making it easy to be there during the heat of the day. There was ample seating at various places, making it easy to enjoy the food choices to have a drink or just sit for a while. The fair isnt overwhelming large so we were able to navigate quite easily with our guest who was using a walker. We had a great time walking around talking in the sights and enjoyed people watching as well as the pig races.

If you are looking for an event facility of any kind, the folks at the Paso Robles Event Center (PREC) will be able to accommodate you. My company was having a hard time finding the proper venue and we were glad to find the facility. The people were EXTRA friendly and easy to communicate with. They worked hard to get us what we needed. Our even was small and not a public event, but they still went above and beyond. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Just a great experience all the way around. You will not be disappointed.

A pathetic waste of money...... Over priced rides that are so sad. Barely working. Between parking, admission and a tickets for rides.... Just my 6 yr daughter and myself . Easily spent $200..ate nothing. She got a very small shave ice(water and colored sugar) for $6. Bumper Cars that dont work and haunted house with nothing inside. Big let down

Had my vaccination here and they made it very convenient and easy. I used their handicapped parking which was right in front I didnt have to park across the street and get out and walk. The first vaccination I got out of the car walked a few feet no big deal chose to sit outside, had my shot was very easy the people were very very nice and friendly they explained every gave me all the paperwork and watched me closely. The second time I went to the same place but this time the parking was different and we just drove up and they came to the car gave us our last vaccination and we waited to be watched. Again very nice friendly people they made it very easy friendly experience im so glad to have gotten the vaccination!

This was the first time I have ever been to the fair. We went when they opened the gates on Friday and had a great time. The food on the other hand is WAY too expensive. I paid $8 for a lemonade. The fair is laid out very well and everyone was very nice to meet. If you have never been to the California Mid State Fair do yourself a favor and give it a try and enjoy a good time.

I love this town and I love seeing outdoor concerts here! The summers can be pretty hot so I advise to dress accordingly. I love how family oriented this town is and everyone is so friendly. There is plenty of parking and most spots are within walking distance.

Seems the weather is very very warm at the Fairgrounds for a few years now. But theres many exhibits and things to see. There are a variety of good music acts included with admission. Also, there are now more cold beer walk-up concessions per square acre than anywhere else in California. Stay hydrated, drink responsibly.

Over the last 50 years. I have been a visitor, vendor, 4H participant, a entrant in all types of ribbon earning sectors of the fair. I enjoy seeing all the crafts, paintings, livestock, food vendors to a clean carnival and People watching. Entertainment normally good to great. Sad so big of a beer & alcohol presence outside the entertainment venues.

Always a fun place to take the kids to.. parking is always a nightmare. I always suggest getting there earlier and pack tons of water. Pace yourself while its slow during the day and hit all the rides . Eat chill and when it cools down go around and enjoy all the rides and shows then

I am that person that takes vacation when the fair is here and i go everyday but this year is not what we expected at all. I wasted my money on a pass. Went and not going back. Went through the buildings and they are half full so half is Empty. Really where are the vendors? And not opening up till 4. Very dissatisfied for sure. Hopefully someone can make it better next year.

Management makes sure this place is clean with staff constantly picking up and cleaning. Limited parking is relieved by remote parking lots and shuttles. This is a small venue that unfortunately has no room to expand. Still, the events are well managed and worth attending.

We always enjoy the fair. Lots of things to see and even though the food is quite expensive, its worth it once a year. We particularly like to watch the sheepdog trials. We gave only 4 stars because this year, during the trial, they started sound testing for a concert that night. It was incredibly loud and distracting. Really poorly timed with the kind of stock event going on.

For it being a midstate fair, I thought that the fairground were fairly small. I could walk the whole fairgrounds in roughly 10-15 minutes or so. Went on some fair rides, saw a concert and ate some good food. Small intimate venue that is very family friendly orientated. Would recommend going to it at least once in your life if you are in central CA. If you are wanting a larger fair I would recommend the Fresno Fair or the California State Fair in Sacramento.

Besides the fact that its stupid hot all day (not their fault), its pretty cheap to get in and there are a lot of options for entertainment and food. Everything is crazy expensive including tickets for the rides but I think its too help offset the cost of maintenance and such. With so many people going every year it makes sense. I LOVE the fact that theres a Christian night. The only thing that would make this the perfect place to take the family for the day is to not walk around and see people wearing practically no clothes just because its the fair and that means Im going to let everything hang out.

I will never go to the fair again. I bought tickets then Day they went on sale. Did not get admissions, my mistake.I worked all day standing on my feet at the Lake then got dressed. Picked up a friend and the line was so long to get in they changed the venue. It was hours before we got to our seats. On kind man who was wearing an orange shirt, a police officer, said wait here. Then we followed him and he took us to the front of the line. Complete Chaos. Working on my feet, standing in two very long lines, no one to monitor them. People just cut in front. Was horrific. They had no chains leading people to the concert, no one knew where to go but back to the end. Not enough staff. Blake Shelton opened due to starting so late and the noise allowance is till 10:00pm.My friend after two songs went to get a beer and not one staff member would help him find his seat which left me alone the few hours we had. So I could no longer stand. Two back surgeries. Worked all day on my feet. My guest never can back and we could not find each other for hours. Then Gwen shows up unexpected. Didn’t care to see her. Next year I hope the fair has a separate entrance for concerts. With patrol.

We went to the Paso Robles Event Center for the Mid State fair. Parking was limited but getting there early helped. There are many buildings that were clean and well maintained. The staff was doing a good job keeping trash off the ground. The one big negative for me was there is only 1 drinking fountain and it DID NOT work. We had water bottles that needed to be refilled but couldnt. We ended up having to purchase drinks. I hope they can fix their water fountain as it gets hot during the day.

The Mid-State Fair is a once a year deal. So… Plan ahead to be there at right time Typically it is the last couple weeks of July. Check their website to be sure.Now of my details. As the fair is huge, at least for our area, not Enormous like LA County fair. There is something for everyone and I will not be covering all of the possibilities. I love to go to the sheep dog trials which are typically the first Sunday of the Fair. These dogs, mostly border collies, are incredible. For me it is a not to be missed event. They can move those sheep around and through gates and do it all with only a few commands. Incredible. Next I will say this is an agricultural area and there are sheep, goats, pigs, cows chickens and much more on display.Next I go to see the floral and plant displays. It is best to do this during the first few days of the fair as flowers don’t last forever. The succulents and cactus displays are very cool.Next it is off to see the photographic and paintings prize winners. The Art is all over the map and there are always some things I like and some things I don’t understand. There is always a scarecrow competition and these can be very clever.Next I go off to the crafts area to see everything including but not limited to decorated cakes, cookies, jams, jellies, quilts, embroidery, and handicrafts of all styles. Stuff made by kids and stuff made by professionals and all in between,Well I have seen enough now and it is getting late. So I will be back again for the fair next year. Check schedules and there are always some fabulous performers.Food of all those fair type - deep fried anything. Commercial exhibits of all the things you did not know you needed. A midway to win a teddy bear and take a ride on the hammerhead or carousel. There is something for everyone at ‘The Biggest Little Fair Anywhere.’

Went to Blake Shelton concert with 10 year old daughter. Had to ask 8 workers before we were directed in the right direction for our seats. Seems like they are to focused on standing in there assigned position to help out patrons and do not know seating layout. Very disappointed with this concert!

Nothing to do on a weekend, every weekend has some event or show going on at the event and fairgrounds. This particular one we went to a spa show, and then discovered a large rock and gem show in another building. Much to my grandchildrens delight. Not bad for a day with nothing to do!

It’s an awesome complex, it has a very old west feel. The mid-state fair always stops through, with great music. Aerosmith, Bob Dylan, ZZ Top, and plenty more. There’s also plenty of local agriculture and ranching companies that show up. I’ve always had great experiences here. That being said, I grew up in Paso and still think it’s great.

The fair just scares me a bit. More than anything, it doesnt have anything to do with the facilities or the staff, its the attendees. They make for excellent people-watching, but the most depressing sort. Lately the concert lineups have been a bit less than stellar, but in past years Ive seen some truly amazing shows there, including Weezer, Kiss, Van Halen, and more. Also, FYI - Definitely try a deep-fried PB&J Uncrustable. Pure magic.

Small business built this fair in the late 90s and early 2000s. They went to government and they haven’t changed much except go downhill. I wont go back ever again after my last time there. They used to use private security. Now we get drug addicts with no teeth arguing over who can walk us across the street. Or some a hole who tells me he doesn’t “f***ing care where I care where I park” in front of my son after I pay $20 to park in a giant dirt hole. Even the beer girl could barely count back my money.This used to be the biggest little fair - now it’s just another county sh*t show.

I was ther with my family sun and i think possibly rival gangs started throwing drinks at each other and got drinks on us and we moved away because they were squaring off and my grandchildren were scared and i thought they were in danger. Where the hell is security everthing cost so much and the state is the one who puts this event on and profits from it ! Maybe protect you customers that are mostly families with more security .

Went to Eric Church concert on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Concert was sold out. The restroom lines were so long that the situation became out of control. There were just as many women using the mens restroom. If you have a concert venue that holds 14000 people, than you need enough bathrooms to support that many people. They had plenty of beer booths to sell you a beer. We tried to go outside the venue to find a restroom and we are told we cannot re-enter concert. Very unorganized and they need some help with logistics.

The women running the side entrance were short, rude, and carried their busy day with themselves as if it were the rest of the worlds fault that they had a job to do dealing with the public. All I tried to do was find out where the main office was to pick up a delivery, and it was as if some drug crazed freak was trying to sneak past them and create havoc. I only hope that what I saw today was not representative of the staff, because as far as I am concerned, I can just leave any packages at the front office, and let someone else be treated rudely. Any packages sent here for our company are for important repairs or necessary maintenance of our equipment, usually costing quite a bit more than a security guards wages, but in no way worth being treated rudely. I am in no way at all impressed by the welcome given today, our company brings safety, happiness, pleasant memories and an absolutely beautiful record with our equipment. If the general public are exposed to this treatment, I will begin to wonder why we are bringing in millions of dollars worth of equipment to be associated with such trratment.

The event center is adequate & the sound system is good. However, as of 2016, this has become a venue almost exclusively for country music. I am NOT country, nor am I rural. I am, & always will be, a Los Angelina/So Cal/So Bay beach girl for life, *and* ... a life-long headbanger. The lack of hard/classic/metal/rap-rock groups in the line-up is depressing. I now have no reason to attend the Mid State Fair. Would love to see Tom Morello & ANY of his many bands/projects play here. *Then* I would have a reason to return to the Fair.
