Believe it or not, they have a very rudimentary untied-shoes sort of creepy fellow basically living inside the condemned Library who peeks out the window to make sure nobody is sitting on the lawn.It seems like the orders are coming from above that they want to make sure nobody stays on or near the closed Library lawn for very long. If you walk by and take a break, sit down, rest, andΒ  use their Wi-Fi which is still on as a free accessory ( free meaning tax-payer benefit) they will forcefully ( not physical force as far as I know, yet ) but without apology, & without normal social etiquette, and without even showing identification, make sure that you leave the PUBLIC premises, (PROBABLY ILLEGALLY because it is public property and the outside is not condemned). They are so DEATHLY AFRAID of becoming like a downtown Los Angeles homeless haven that they have orders to make sure nobody stays on the public lawn and pay a low level security guard (maybe ex-con) to stay inside the library at all times peeking out the window to enforce this (probably illegally), even on New Years Day the day of the famous Rose Parade when there are thousands of tourists walking to the parade and from the parade back to their cars, as well as to the Rose bowl for the football game. It is freakinΒ CREEPYΒ πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‘πŸ‘ŽπŸ˜‘

This library is MASSIVE! Its one of the biggest, if not the biggest, library Ive ever been to. This library has four floors of books, a few auditoriums, study rooms, and even a coffee shop right outside. It has a very old school rustic feel to it. I went there to view one of the many programs that they have going on and the auditorium that the program was in was a very nice, large auditorium. Im definitely going to try to come back here more often.

This public library has a beautiful building, and their staff is excellent. Free wifi is a plus. I first came to this library when I was in high school at Glendale (Hoover HS). Love it since then!

Usually a great experience. An occasional scary bathroom and I had a staff member come up to me recently and tell me every 5 minutes they were closing 15 min in advance. She was hovering and complaining. She has been the first ever problem in over 20 yrs. Normally you can find an area with complete silence. What a joy. Written pre pandemic and I haven’t visited since.

Hi! Im sure this place is beautiful! Though I alongside many others will NEVER KNOW! This building has been closed since 2021 and is expected to finish in 2029! Unacceptable! That is almost 1/9 of the average lifespan. Ridiculous. Open this place up until you begin construction, which isnt expected to begin what... 2025?! Y

Love the inside of this place. Has an old school feel to it that’s great. There’s an Internet cafe of sorts down in the basement if you need to get online. You can print stuff out down there. Lots of study space in multiple different rooms. There’s a meeting room upstairs that can be reserved.Parking can be a pain much of the day here. There’s just not enough parking around. Bathrooms can be unpleasant due to the ever present homeless population that makes use of them. There’s an outdoor courtyard with a tiny cafe.

This is my favorite public library ever. It is so beautiful and the location is perfect. There is an outdoor courtyard with a coffee bar. It is open late (9pm on most weekdays). It is mostly clean and the large hall is the perfect place to work (not too loud but just enough background noise). There are quieter areas for those who prefer. Overall very beautiful library with convenient hours in a very nice part of town.

The staff and service at this iconic library are consistently outstanding. Friendly, helpful - staff will frequently go into the stacks to find a book for me. The reservation service is amazing, with an email arriving in my home overdue warnings, and enough staff on duty that I never have to wait. The building is a historic treasure. Whats not to love?!?

Pasadena Public Library feels like a large library, the building itself has a traditional feel, as if its been around for a very long time. It is a historical landmark so that explains things. Good for studying or quiet book reading.

I really love this library. Ive been coming my whole life since I was 7. I love to come here to study and read, but the worst thing about it is the restroom. The mens room is always filthy because homeless are always taking a bath using the sinks. I cant really stay here long because if I need to use the restroom I cant after going into the mens room and seeing homeless men in the stalls doing who knows what, and homeless men at the sinks with all their items strewn out on the counter and a horrible stench. Its not that they dont clean the restroom, its that there are always homeless going in and turning it into a pigsty. The homeless all about the library are also annoying, but usually they are well behaved. The problem here is that they need to stop letting the homeless destroy the mens room. Stop letting in these homeless with all their stuff and then proceeding to smear every surface with dirt and filth. Last time I went in it looked like mud had been smeared all over the sink counters. Really unacceptable, especially seeing as how there are multiple places nearby now that cater exclusively to this population for this exact reason.
