Honestly, food was great, but this location needs a lot of work!The food was good as always and literally only took about 10 minutes for our sandwiches and soups to be ready. I ordered to steak and white cheddar sandwiches with broccoli cheddar soup!The total for both meals came out to $30, which I didnt find to bad at all.Now what I did find bad was that most of the tables were all dirty, the carpet was disgusting and filthy, same with the bathroom!Looked like someone walked into the bathroom with stuff they stole at the mall and just made a mess inside. Filthy place, I wont be back.

Food is good. I like the Sip Club membership where you can get a cup of drink every 2 hour.Negative: Mens restroom always stink and the smell come out to around drinks area as well. You can already smell the restroom when you are in the drinks area.***Regarding the smell of the restroom, this message is not just for the restaurant but also the mens restroom users, please be more considerate in terms controlling your pee spatter and flush after yourself. Went here to try their new chicken sandwich. Disappointed. Basically a bland mushy sandwich. Large enough chicken piece so the portion is good. Just the taste was forgettable. They have these Parmesan chips in the sandwich thats supposed to provide some taste and crunch, and on its own it does that, but in the sandwich it gets lost.The salads have lost its touch too. Smaller portions, weaker greens, not worth the price anymore. But still 3 stars because the bagels and desserts are still fire and location is clean.

I always forget how meager the portions are at Panera. They certainly price things like there should be more food, but the actual amount for any plate (other than baked goods) is a tapas portion at best. This location is okay, the parking lot is a bit of a beast since its at the Lakewood Mall, but if you come for coffee and to get some work done, itll probably be a good spot for you.

They mark your order as ready/complete before they start making it so it looks like they have great times at order completion. It took 15 minutes for three staff members in the kitchen area to make three small orders. They lost the first order I put in (and told me it didnt go through and they never made it) and double charged me.It wasnt busy at all (2-3 groups/tables) and there were dirty dishes on multiple tables

I just spent $19 on a mediocre Chinese chicken salads, half a bacon avocado melt, and a cup of tea. I bought lunch here because my table had an outlet. I needed to charge my phone while I ate. Turns out none of the outlets in this Panera work…at all. Why hasn’t this been fixed? I won’t be buying the just-ok food here unless the outlets work.

When you buy what they advertise. You get a steak sandwich with three small pieces of meat. It was a 20 dollar meal with watered down turkey chilli that was cold. I spoke to Corp just to let them know, but no response. Shows volumes. Dont eat here. Just go to jersey Mikes 🤫 really food really good quality.

EDITED: I have visited a few times after the experience described below, and they are good. This experience limits my 5 star, but 4 stars is good.TLDR: Usually great experience but their coffee cups need structural changes, desperately.I love Panera and their food and generally have a great experience here and I usually only write positive comments (5 stars) but I have to say, I am a little disappointed after todays visit. I was early on my route to work today in Long Beach and decided to stop by the Lakewood location for a coffee. It was a treat because I usually like to make my coffee at home so this was a splurge. (This point adds to the disappointment) Friday morning, very excited, I get the Madagascar Vanilla latte and 2 kitchen sink cookies. I also add on danishes for my office staff. The girl at the register was kind and patient and that all went well. I picked up my coffee at the counter and excitedly went to my car and proceeded to drive the rest of the way to work. This is where my complaint starts. I placed my coffee in the cup holder of my car and upon arrival, when I went to pick it up, the top fell off and it slightly dripped everywhere in the cup holder. I thought, oh, no problem. Let me just reattach the lid to the cup and wipe the cup holder. So I reattach the lid (pressing on it tightly so it wouldnt detach again) then rest my coffee on my seat while I wipe the dirty cup holder. Okay. Phew. Time to go into work. NOPE. As soon as I carefully pick up the coffee again (taking care because when I raised it out last time there was spillage due to the lid), the lid still falls off but this time, surprising and disappointing because I made SURE it was tight, A LOT fell out onto my seat, a non-wipable surface. :( This one was on me for maybe resting on my seat while I cleaned and, although upset, mostly because the lid did not stay a second time, I realized ok, it could be worse and I shouldnt have put it on the seat. After that seat mishap, everything went well when, suddenly, for a 3rd time and in the worst case scenario, the lid fell of again. See picture. It spilled EVERYWHERE in my office seat. I am sad. I took the time to write this long message because I want to be fair to Panera but also ask to please make sure your lids and cups match better and have a better grip mechanism because this was not the best experience. 😔

The food is acceptable and the service is relatively quick. The thing i am disappointed with is the state of the facility. I dont know if they are understaffed or just dont care but the place is usually filthy, tables are never wiped down, there are rips in the seats (they obviously need to be reupholstered), and a lot of the seats have lost their cushion making it an uncomfortable experience. Panera as a restaurant is one of my favorite places to read, work, and eat but this one gave me the ick. Will not be coming back to this establishment.

We always have to wait for the coffee to be rude so we can get a second cup theres times where it has taken 30 to an hour literally to get another cup there has been times for they do have people working and tables are dirty after customers have left. Food was pretty bad at this location, service wasnt much better. Soup and salads tasted like lukewarm canned goods, sandwiches were soggy and halfway warmed. Portions were small given the prices.Employees had poor attitudes and seemed bothered when I asked for cutlery and packaging. This place used to be great, but has gone downhill. 😮‍💨

After multiple sour visits to this Panera bread I have to write that as a person of color they will treat you different when you pick your mobile order up, than if you were not. They’ll quiz you about every detail on the order, ask you for almost everything even almost your mother’s maiden name, and the last 4 digits of your social to get your order.The drink fountain is almost always bustedAnd don’t even think about buying gift cards here they don’t have an actual person taking orders just the kiosks.

I could change to an ice coffee if they had to brew a whole pot though; I asked Aakailah. So, I called the Hq many times and reported what I saw for years though; now I saw the resault.I am happy and love panera bread!They are wonderful ❤️◯04/20/20I am a Penera Bread lover and I visited the Lakewood store today.Then, I had trouble to use my 2 Panera gift cards which had sufficient funds way more than my purchase amount.Although the cashier, Briana tried to withdraw the amount of my purchase out of these 2 cards, none of her attempts were successful.Also, rebooting her computer did not help the situation.She even tried to help me to use a KIOSK desk though; it did not work neither.Also, these my card balances were approved by their customer support as well.So, after spending almost 15 minutes to cope with this problem, we found that their computer system had some problems and so gift cards use would not be available until tomorrow.Oh-brother!I became so tired to dealing with this hectic and wished to be informed this earlier.However, nobody was perfect and was able to find out until my case, so, I could not blame any one.Briana was so helpful and considerate. She talked to her superior, Fidelvia for further assistance, and then eventually they ended up providing me a free meal.I did not even expect such a dramatic moment, but I just wanted a free coffee to ease my nerve though; they gave me way more than I expected.Be honest, I was thankful but felt so bad at the same time because it was not their fault, it was just happened.However, they took their proud and initiated to provide me their great service to make me feel good and happy.I am not talking about only a free meal, but also their thoughtful consideration and great treatment were stood out because I knew that not so many businesses did offer like what they did for me. I placed an online delivery order for a Bread bowl of macaroni and cheese and a Sandwich when I open up the bag the bread was on the top, it looked like somebody just ripped it apart with their hands and threw it in the bag which is Very unprofessional. I ordered a bread bowl that is... the the macaroni and cheese is in a bowl made out of bread. I did not receive the correct order and the macaroni and cheese that I did receive is on the runny side. Im skeptical to eat since they were so sloppy with my order and throwing this piece of bread in the bag thats hard as a rock. This is not even what I ordered. Im pissed!!

Covering for the Light fixture fell in return dropped my filled open coffee cup from Starbucks, fell over my fathers lap suede shoes I called an employee over who seemed to be a lead worker to inform her and also so she could take the item off the table AND THE ONLY THING SHE WAS ABLE TO FOCUS ON WAS A WATER CUP THAT ONE OF US HAD FILLED WITH SODA AND SAID YOU KNOW THIS CUP IS ONLY FOR WATER. We ordered a bowl of soup, and a you-pick-two with a half salad and cup of soup. They gave us two of the same size cups of soup, not a cup and a bowl. I asked them if theyre supposed to be the same size and the lady said typically yes. (Not true, from reviewing the order later..) They were out of gorgonzola for the salad so we ordered mozzerella, and they put one huge chunk of mozzerella, not cut up. Also, we checked the box asking for utensils, and for a salad and two soups all we got was one fork. They clearly arent even trying. Very disappointing.

I had a handful of issues with my panera experience here.1) I dont think it is this locations fault but a panera problem in general: I ordered food online and by the time I got there to pick it up they were out of half of my order. Very disappointing. In my opinion, the app shouldnt let you order food if the location is almost out.2) They had to refund me and they got the amount wrong so I had to hand her the money back and she had to redo the transaction. I was already upset that I wasnt going to get half my food so this was particularly annoying. Also I feel that refunds should be more exact, she didnt consult any kind of receipt for what I was getting a refund for. There is a lot of room for error here and the location could easily lose money processing returns this way without consulting any kind of receipt and only taking the customers word for it.3) I got a text that said my order was ready so I went in and it wasnt even completed yet.

This place we paid for tomato soup. They get our money then after a long wait say there is no tomato soup. They gave my husband, and I french onion soup. My daughter had a chicken noodle soup. This was my go-to place when I worked in the mall. Their tuna sandwich is really good and I dont eat other people tuna I make my own but they have really good tuna. The staff seemed chaotic and stressed, even though when we went the restaurant was essentially empty. We asked for utensils and they insisted they were in there and I had to show them the bag, in which did not contain utensils, in order to obtain them. As well, they charge extra for things like Quinoa, an absurd $2, and our salads did not contain them, incredibly disappointed. Lastly, the food is incredibly over priced for what it is.

The food is great, however, service is very poor. We wait in line all the way and when we get to the register, they tell us, if paying with a credit card to use the kiosk. Also, there is only one person working at the register, and she disappears in the back to get coffee and rest of the order, and no one is at front help the people next in line. I have walked out couple of months ago for the last time, and just today, my wife wanted to get breakfast, we went in, and no improvement as waiting and poor customer service [persist. I will not be going back, but instead supporting small family businesses that really need help.

Highly disappointed in my experience today! I did a rapid pick up order that I was suppose to pick up at 1051 am. I got to the store at 1056 and my order was not I. The rapid pick up area. I asked about the order and was told that I had to pay for the extra cheese that I requested. No big deal. I went back out to my car and got my card and came back in to pay. I waited on line to pay the .99 I owed for the cheese. By the time I left the store it is 1104. So now my food has been sitting for 13 minutes. By the time I get home my food has been sitting for 20. To top it all off, my extra cheese wasn’t even there.

Its great here. The employees are on top of their game, items at rapid pick up is ready most of the time when I take-out and its never a long wait when I have to wait. People here are nice and always positive even the customers here too. I love running my job through panera bread because I always get a positive vibe the moment I step inside and never have to wait long. All the employees here deserves recognition and a raise. As noted in other reviews this Panera location is indeed fly infested most likely roach infested as the surrounding area is very dirty (roaches everywhere). Female managers are especially rude. Make sure to specify if you want a you pick two because they will ring up items separately just to make a few extra bucks. Especially in covid times it’s a shame they do this on top of having high prices they do not look out for the customers behalf. They don’t even answer the phone! I come To this location as it is the nearest to me, every time it is a bad experience after another. I regret to say they will no longer be receiving my business.

Apparently if they make a mistake with your online pick up order, they will call you to tell you it’s your fault.That’s what happened to me. The food is very good most of the time. The wait in line to order takes quite a long time and so does placing your order. Additionally receiving your food can take forever even if its just a toasted bagel.The inside seating areas are very cramped and difficult to navigate especially if you are disabled.Do not sure by the bakery area as staff goes into out if the back area frequently so there is no privacy or comfort in this area.Staff is not very friendly all the time either. Depends on which staff member you encounter on a given day.Tables are not cleared of dishes or wiped down on a regular basis.

I would give no stars if i could. Today my mom and I went to this location about 10:30. We were surprised to not be able to choose from the lunch menu as at other locations. When I was ordering I was almost finished completing my order and another customer came up to the gal that was taking my order and said can I have some napkins. The worker then stopped confirming my order to go get her napkins. That was really rude. Then when my mom and I sat waiting for our food, it took 15 minutes to get our half a breakfast sandwich and soup. When they finally brought my order they forgot the butter for my bread. We watched through the square in the wall my moms food sitting there for almost five minutes. I went up to the counter and said can I just grab my order, we have been waiting for a long time and we dont have a lot of time. I took my moms food to her and she noticed that there was no egg on her sandwich. I had to go back and tell them they forgot the egg. I think they also gave her the smallest pieces of bread for her sandwich because it was so tiny for a $4.99 sandwich. I also dont like that they dont give you an option for how you want your egg on your sandwich. I personally like scrambled. The lady that was serving was the only one on the floor. She had to cover table clean up and serving. I know that makes it hard for her being the only one, but she was not conscious of her lack of proper speed. She would also stop and chat with customers when there was food sitting up on the shelf waiting to be delivered. This place needs a lot of help. Needless to say we wont ever go back.

I come to this Panera bread in Lakewood all the time. I decided to stand and look over and watch them make my food, I have had food poisoning to many times. As Im watching I notice the employee making the food start to make my food with the same gloves she just prepared someone else food with, I had to ask her to change her gloves. On October 4th I went again and Im looking over and the same employee is making my salad, anotherr employee comes in and ask for the key card to swipe to clock in, keys are hanging on this card as well, the lady making my food held the card, she reached in her back pocket, handed him the card and went back to preparing food, he then bought the card back, she took it and put it back in her pocket and went back to preparing food. I had to ask her to stop, change her gloves and prepare a new salad, everybody has been touching that card, not telling were the other employee just came from, he walked right in and went to her, no one washed their hands. I had already paid, I took the salad home and threw it away, I couldnt even eat it and I will NEVER visit that Panera Bread anymore, that was so nasty, they keep the same gloves on preparing everyones for in the same gloves and touching stuff in the gloves your food is being prepared with.

I was on a ride along with the West Pierce Country Fire Dept. and we stopped there for lunch. We just had our food delivered, took one bite, got a call and had to run out the door to respond to a house fire. While in the fire truck, I called Panera to ask if they could save our food as we would be back. I couldnt hear what the lady was saying on the Panera side as the sirens were on, but I knew she could hear me. Three hours later, we returned with the firemen to Panera in Lakewood, and asked if they managed to save our food. The manager came out to greet us, told us it would be their honor to remake all our lunches as she didnt want us to eat the lunch we had to leave 3 hours ago. We were all so grateful when the Panera server brought us fresh hot lunches to replace what we left earlier. The food there is excellent as always but the service and respect shown to our firefighters by the staff and manager of the Lakewood Panera was outstanding and heartfelt! THANK YOU PANERA!
