After doing business with H & R Block we decided to part ways with them because of all the mistakes they were making. Darren came highly recommended on Nextdoor so we gave them a try. As always Pacific Tax is my go to tax prep office. The whole team is very friendly and professional. David has been preparing my taxes and retirement plans for over 7 years. I get the appointments automatically and they email me the quarterly estimates reminders when they are due. He also advises me how and when to put money into the simple ira to save money on taxes. This was our tenth year with David doing our taxes at Pacific Tax. We couldnt be happier. We are North County locals who are also a military family. He has seamlessly handled our taxes from nearby, to overseas. Our appointments are quick, thorough and stress free. Its common a couple times during the year for us to call with a tax-related question and he is always quick to respond. A perfect balance of personal and professionalism. Additionally, the rest of the close staff is a pleasure to speak with when calling. Everyone in the office has always been helpful and treated us as valued clients. I tried to file my taxes using an online tax company but something seemed off, like my return was much less than it should be. My parents recommend Julie with Pacific Tax & Financial Group. I figured I’d give her a try and made an appointment. The cost was only a little more than what I would have paid for the online service but the experience was 100 times better and my return increased by over a $1000. Julie made doing my taxes so much easier and less stressful, I highly recommend using them.

I had gotten invitations to Turbo Tax and Credit Karma, checked them out and David came in a couple thousand less legitimately and then helped me set up my IRA and SEP IRA. I have been doing business with David from way back when it started as Frank Thompson Income Tax in the 80s. David was my guy and then Frank decided to retire and David bought the business. I have been with him ever since. I now live in Kansas and still have Pacific Tax & Financial Group do my taxes to this date. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Have done my own taxes through TURBO TAX for many years, but age and time have taken over. I called the office after getting the number from Google under Best firms in Escondido. Darren answered and gave an immediate calming sign for my troubles and fear of not being to file in time. He offered a FAST choice of appointments to me. A GREAT RELIEF! When we met, his professionalism showed and melded with his obvious care for us. Short and to the point,yet open enough that we left with NO worries or questions. THEY WERE DONE WITHIN A WEEK. Signed and e-Filed. Nice large refund with a quite well prepared and documented 1040 and 540. Biggest suggestion.......USE THEIR SERVICES WITH CONFIDENCE.

After making huge mistakes last year with doing my taxes myself. And after taking on a 2nd job, I decided it would be best to find professionals to help me as I began to complete my W 4 form. I was extremely disappointed when call this company and inquired of the type of help they offered and if they could begin helping me with the completion of my w 4 form. I was told to go to the IRS website for W 4 form help. I then explained that the website was not clear on how to assist someone with multiple incomes, inquiring if it were not their job to assist with explanation of the IRS complicated lingo. He flat out said NO and that they only prepare taxes. Well excuses me sir! Is the W 4 form not directly related to taxes etc? He flat out refused to help me. They lost someone who was lost and looking for guidance and would have used their services to the max. Worst customer service I have experience in a very long time.Update: They did reach out to me and helped me with my needs. I greatly appreciate the kindness and help extended.

We had an appointment with Julie Stelzner at 1PM and she was ready for us right away. Very precise and seemed to ask all the right questions. We moved from 1 state to another, sold and bought a house so it wasnt just run of the mill tax filing. Maybe for her it was, but she brought a lot of information up that I didt have with me and probably would have missed those deductions. Very nice to work with her.

Just want to update my experience. There were some errors made by the software used at Pacific Tax on my 2015 tax return. After finding the error and submitting an amended return Darren offered a full refund which I settled for half. Now I get a IRS letter noting an error I made on m 2014 tax form resulting in a large sum owed to the IRS. Darren setup a meeting that same day. Found the error I made, wrote up an amendment and even called the IRS to make sure no collections will be made. He didn’t charge me a dime for all that work. Will be using these folks from now on.
