I needed something that could record videos/take pictures with a pure white background and was given one of Ortery’s 360 PhotoBench series light boxes from a friend. It even has a turntable to generate some professional quality 360 views! Despite paying $250 for the software to control the thing, it was worth every penny due to the ease of use and of course the end quality.What merits this review however, is Ortery’s outstanding customer service. I have had a few questions about their software/products over the course of a year and they always pick up fast, know what you’re talking about even if you can’t describe the issue well, never try to sell you stuff, and are the friendliest people on the planet.A+++ experience with Ortery Technologies, their products, and customer service.

This is long overdue but we have been using Ortery since 2017 and I cant say enough good things about the product and company as a whole. Using Ortery has allowed us to capture very crisp images of our jewelry on white backgrounds, which was always difficult with our prior setups.In addition to an incredible product, their support team is the best. Grant, who initially sold us the studios, walked us through setting the devices up and has also helped me on a number of occasions with more technical questions. The same can be said for all of their support staff though. Just today, I called for some some technical help regarding videos and Ian was terrific to work with. He gave me some insight on photography as a whole and walked me through a couple settings we could modify to get better quality.I would highly recommend this product and for us, the revenue and efficiency increases have made the initial investment seem like nothing.

We recently began using Orterys photography equipment to speed up our workflow at our company. The machines work extremely well, and the software has a ton of useful features that make taking photos a breeze.But even more than that, their Customer Service is phenomenal. Ive been working with one of their representatives name Grant. This guy replies to my emails within minutes, always makes himself available if I have a question or issue, and has even gone out of his way to work with their engineers to tailor some of the software features specific to our needs.Overall weve been very happy with our decision to go with this company. I had the pleasure of working with the team at Ortery over the span of a few months between the end of 2021 and the beginning of this year. The company I work for, ClearVision Optical Company, had an older light box from them for capturing our product. I was able to work with my team and the team at Ortery to decide which box we should update to a new product in order to help improve our in-house photography and gain new features that would help streamline our processes.Every step of the way, we were given everything we needed in order to get the best value out of what we were looking for. I can say from my direct interaction, Kenn was by far a great help in every way. It was amazingly easy to get on the phone with him and put things together with my team to help determine if we needed the new technology. There wasnt a moment where we had any real issues in communicating anything. Any questions we had were answered and we were given a forward path on what we could accomplish if we updated our product. And once we received our new light box towards the end, Kenn helped set us up with Ian to train the rest of my team and answer a load of questions we had. It was great having that direct support, live, especially because were a NY based company, and we probably wouldnt have improved things as much without it.Overall, Id say if youre looking for a specific technology with light boxes, whether youre photographing products (especially in large quantities and with multiple alternative styles of the same product), or you want to capture something specific in a 360 degree view, these products are incredible. Theyre built to last, and supported by Ortery in several ways. The program paired with them make the most of the product and greatly cut hours off our process list. With all the new algorithms baked into the programs features (like Auto Mask), were able to easily photograph our large collections and export fully edited photos in less than an hour.Our situation is also very specific so dont hesitate to reach out to them and ask any question you can. Theyve got a great team over there and Im glad I got the chance to work with them.

Ortery isn’t magic and it’s not perfect. Far as I can tell, neither magic nor perfection exist. Hard work is the thing that gives the appearance of magic. Ortery works hard. They’re quick and responsive when a user is having trouble. Now, the answer may be that you gotta buy a new subscription to their software which ain’t cheap, but you’ll get answers quickly. We’ve been using Ortery for about 3 years, and it’s very good for headshots and product photography. If I had to go back to strobe lighting and EOS Utility, I would cry (or, tear up, at least).

I use the 3D Photobench 60 for taking pictures and videos of loose gemstones. The box has paid for itself within a few uses. The focus stacking feature is easy to use and gives our clients a full sense of the quality of the gemstone. Im still trying to master the 3D functionality, but the software is intuitive enough. I purchased the equipment in 2015 and Im still getting use out of it. Its also nice that Ortery has stuck around and provided software improvements to their products. I would happily recommend this company and their services for those looking into DYI photo tech.

These guys not only have a great product, but they also have great customer service. We process one of a kind pieces and take over 60,000 photos a year (amounting to over 300k shutter snaps due to focus stacking). Our main camera has to go in for shutter replacements every year, but the ortery system doesnt miss a beat. I had some technical issues with our backup camera when our main camera shutter went out and called in and got everything sorted out right away (it was an issue with my camera settings, not ortery).

Where to start...... well first off let me just say we love our 260T 360 machine! This machine has shed so much time off the photography portion of our products. Between having 4000 SKUs and having to take the photos then edit them by hand we went from around 15 minutes of work each item to about 2-3 minutes each! The software program is easy to use and very self explanatory. Once we set up our profiles for each style of product it’s all now done at the click of 2 buttons, 1 being selecting the profile and the other clicking SNAP! For those looking to speed time up then you have found your solution with Ortery. The 360 portion of their software is the best I think I’ve seen around looking at competing photos mainly on the internet as their software comes together well and makes a great experience for your customer on your site.The machine itself is so nice and not a cheap piece of junk these other companies try to sell you. They are excellent quality and it’s fully automatic and just every aspect of its engineering you can see the detail and time they put in to think the whole process through. My favorite part of what they did that sold me was that other companies include the cameras as part of their machines but Ortery went smart and didn’t include them cause we know every couple years camera tech goes out so this gives you an opportunity to have this machine for many years to come and not become outdated. When spending $$$$ it’s important to know you aren’t wasting either so small things like this is why you should think twice before going anywhere else. Ortery receives a 5-star from me, not because the equipment is easy to use and helps make large photo jobs simple to manage, not because their software controls the environment perfectly and also saves the information for later shoots, and not because of the amazing 360 approach to product photography, but because they have an exceptionally stellar customer service and account management team. Every single time I have an issue, they are very quick to respond with help, and are so kind with their troubleshoot approach. 90% of my issues are user error and they are very good about walking me through and helping me, without making me feel lame. The company I work for just purchased the Ortery Technologies Photobench 280 to eliminate the cost of sending our product out to get 360 rotational views shot. Once we received the Photobench 280 I was able to set up the studio by myself and have my first images by the end of the work day. The setup is very easy and the software is dummy proof. I was only able to get 1 photoshoot done, so my experience is limited, but the setup was flawless. Hopefully I can update my review when I have more photoshoots done. So far 5 out of 5 stars.

We have had the PhotoSimile 200 for several years now. Needed a touch up on training. When I had called to schedule I asked if we could bring product down so we could learn with what we use versus just any product. Was pleased that answer was yes. Spent 2 hours with one on one training. J was very patient and took the time to explain standard photography questions. Very excited to get back into the shop and put what we learned to use. Very refreshing to know that even though we have had the machine for years that they will take the time to help you. Spent some time researching product photography solutions before reaching out to Ortery. Sales rep was great - very knowledgeable and easy to get hold of. Software and hardware both were very easy to use. Specifically, we purchased the PhotoCapture 360 turntable w/ Ortery Capture software. We already had a lighting solution. Ultimately, setting up, configuring, and poking around the app took all of 20-30 minutes to figure out. For a person who has only ever photographed catching fish, I was able to achieve the desired results (fully white-screened product photos) with minimal fuss and zero Googling. The biggest improvement, though, was to our workflow. We are easily able to get multiple pictures per item in around 60 seconds. All are named sequentially and predictably for bulk upload via Spreadsheet.For us, this removed:Manual photography.Manually renaming photos.Manually editing photos.Manually uploading photos to listings.My headache.Very happy customer!

We just installed the new software and it is proving to be well worth the wait! The background removal is a lot simpler to use (especially with the polygonal tool) and the interface as a whole seems a lot more intuitive. Like anything, it takes a bit of time to get the hang of but if you know the old program it shouldnt be any trouble to navigate on your own.

I just received my Ortery 2D Photobench 100 a few weeks ago, and I LOVE it. I use it for jewelry photography, and the sharpness and depth and shine that I was missing in my previous photobox is truly to die for. The software that comes with it BLOWS me away. The Ortery Capture software does things I would have previously considered WITCHCRAFT. Automatically getting rid the background? A mini Photoshop-esque editing feature? AUTO-MASK?! The best part of all this is that they actually train you on using it -- you get a one hour training session to start, and then you have lifetime support that can help you with any questions you may have. The learning curve is minimal, and Im going to recommend Orterys products to any product photographer I meet!

First off, the Ortery Model 2D Photo bench 100 is a must have for any ecommerce company wanting to take their online business to the next level. I work for Deals Only as a product photographer and this product is a life saver to say the least. Not only does it give you the best possible lighting but you are also able to completely get white backgrounds when shooting a plethora of products. When the photo is taken there are a couple of different options that can be used to create a white background. Being able to automatically take a photo and not have to cut out the object along with automatically getting a png file with a transparent background makes it really easy to do whatever you need with the photo without having to take the extra step of cutting out the product manually in Photoshop saving time and a headache.Another great aspect of this machine is the AfterImage capability. This specific option enables you to save an image of the last product that you photographed. It leaves a semi-transparent image so that when you take your next photo you can place it in the same exact spot. This is really nice when you have several items that are the same product but different colors. This enables a stop-motion feel when the customer scrolls through the photos online creating an even more enhanced user friendly experience. This program has so many different options for the photographer that save time. You can also do some minor editing in the program that you would otherwise have to do with Photoshop such as levels, color balance, cropping etc.This photo bench is great! However, there are just a couple of things that I have ran into. One being that it is processor intensive in order to run the program. Specifically editing capabilities and it can be slower than I would like when cutting out the background. Really excited to check out the new update so that we can use this product to its full potential and hopefully have an even faster process. Also, I really wish that there was a tool like the healing brush that Photoshop has for removing dust and scratches for those up close/macro shots. Otherwise this is the best software and photo booth I have used for product photography. Despite these minor things it still takes out so many steps that I would otherwise have to go through. Fast and efficient this won’t disappoint.

DISCLAIMER: This review is for an employee and not the company as a whole.Ian recently helped me (for days on end, no less) with a software issue we were experiencing. Sometimes these problems seem to arise out of nowhere, and as a result, we have no clue how to fix them as we don’t know what went wrong in the first place. Ian was constantly thinking of “what else” as we were troubleshooting. He asked me direct, answerable questions that weren’t outside my range of knowledge, even though the problem itself was. He provided step-by-step instructions, and went as far as having me screenshare through a video chat, which allowed him to see firsthand what we were dealing with on our end. It was so much easier than trying to describe the problem, having him guess at what I was looking at or feel like I was doing something to cause the issues. He was extremely patient despite the lack of progress with the problem, and calmly repeated login information to me 3-4 times when even screensharing was having problems. When Ian didn’t know the answers- he continued his efforts to help by asking colleagues and following up the next day to try again to find our resolution. Though the resolution did not happen during our calls, I am confident the adjustments Ian directed me to make led to the resolution we were searching for upon the computer’s restart the following day.Thank you so much, Ian, for being a consummate professional and more importantly friendly and patient through the duration of all the technological struggles!
