Its like a ghost town. Almost feel like Im not supposed to be here. Campus is opening slowly. Masks required indoors. Library only open until 6pm Mon and Tues. Parking is paid through an app now. No more permits.

Me and the girls were rewatching last years softball games and on one video we can over hear the Athletic Department guy tony altobelli telling another department person sitting with him, jason, how cute some of the girls where on the team. Tony specifically calls out one of the players as looking real cute. We wont say her name on here. This was comedic to replay with the girls but also gross. Real creepers

I came here to recycle stuff from time to time and they have better hours and rates for that than most recycling facilities.And they have people that are usually there that work really hard and help keep the lines moving along and there were always staff at the window when they were still open so you can leave with actual cash in hand and not just some silly piece of paper receipt.as a school I am not really sure how it is, I mostly just went for the recycling facility when I got the chance.

I went here for 3 years. Not only did it provide me with great classes towards my major, I was also able to learn some great skills from some very passionate professors.The diversity of the age bracket was also a plus for me. I interacted daily with people from ~20-50 years old, giving me great real-world experience, as opposed to being with a bunch of other immature freshmen.Overall 5 stars.

I would drive here everyday from Anaheim Hills for two years and it was worth every minute of traffic. This place is a magical bubble, and some of the best days of college happened on this campus. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the administration is professional and encouraging. The campus is beautiful and well maintained. This is the best community college around, and I wouldnt be surprised if its the best community college in the entire country.

I cant say enough good things about this school! I went here straight after high school, uncertain of what I wanted to pursue. The teachers were passionate and supportive. The other students were friendly and fun. The campus just keeps growing, and the facilities are top notch. If they had offered a bachelors degree I would have stayed and gotten it there. This place will change your life.

My experience with Orange Coast College was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life now that I look back to those years. This school took time for its students and the staff was always available to help. I now moved onto university and noticed a huge difference in the way students are treated compared to Orange Coast College. As a community college, there is much to experience with historic value. Modern art buildings, a beautiful modernized library with many opportunities, and not to mention, a Starbucks! Orange Coast college also offered amazing classes that helped me learn a little about what options I had to choose as a career if I was uncertain. Three years later and I still want to go back to the library to read, work in quiet peace, and to take more classes. Orange Coast College is what many think of a Californian Orange County typical community college. It is, and it is fun; anyone who attends will enjoy their school and learning opportunities at the college.

Thanks OCC for letting the swapmeet use your parking lot. Those solar panels helped keep most of the vendors cool. Cant wait for all of the panels go up so more vendors get shade...and shopperz like us!Nice job on the renovations on the school buildings. Recycling Center at Orange Coast College has always been the best place to take items, but Im taking one star away today for the reason that one of their helpers was NOT wearing his mask correctly. He had the disposable paper mask on, with his nose uncovered, underneath his nose. Normally Id say nothing and go on, but due to the awful fact that here in Orange County weve reached an astronomical amount of people with covid, but also hospitalized and in ICU as well. I was wearing my n95, but the majority of those working and those turning things in to be recycled were only wearing those paper thin disposable masks (which is very saddening) Be careful and safe out there 😬😷❤

This school really helps you get there. The overall experience I had there was unforgettable and amazing. Sure, I had my difficulties getting through to transfer and had a couple bad professors/experiences but the majority of professors/faculty were great. Now that Im transferred and going to CSULB, it makes me miss going to OCC seeing the real differences and quality changes. I felt like home going to OCC and if I ever taught one day Id want to be a junior college professor over a university professor.

I was enrolled here for 3 years and never once had an appointment with my councilor (and trust me I was trying). I never got to take any of the classes that were relevant to my major and the teachers had no passion at all. The only reason this school gets a star at all, is because their campus is clean. Honestly just go somewhere else. Dont waste your time here.

This is by far one of the best colleges I have attended. I have taken 2 classes of Italian, Spanish and several music classes. The teaches are among the best and the campus beautiful and clean. I just love taking classes at OCC, even though it is further to drive from Huntington Beach.

They offer a wide range of courses, and yes ... the ladies are hot. :) Highly recommend OCC to recent high school grads and professionals, who want to learn new things. Great school, the best available. Lots of caring professors with real world experience of their respective fields. It is a large campus with lots of parking, however in the first month or so of any semester, parking is scarce and overflows to the OC Fairgrounds.Parking is only free the first 2 weeks of the regular semester and first 1 week of accelerated semesters. Otherwise, you must get a parking pass from the Adams lot in the back corner close to gym and baseball fields, or the lots located along Fairview off Pirates way and over by the Theater and Campus Safety office. You can get one citation forgiven, after that dont count on it, even if you had a parking pass and forgot to put it on. Campus safety aggressively checks cars like clockwork throughout the day up until the last class lets out at night. If you have car trouble, they can and will help, though. They can also escort you to your car if you are still on campus late. Parking is physically tight for larger vehicles and most people park badly and make spaces even more cramped. The widest spaces are located by in the parking lots by the library and arts buildings.The library is top notch and there is a full Starbucks located next to it. The cafeteria offers great and reasonably-priced choices. There are other student ran food stands over by the foreign language building as well with some healthier options.Counseling appointments are hard to schedule, but can be booked easily every Thursday morning on the school website, or you can book in person in the Watson building 3rd floor. You will need to see a counselor to set and change your major, and also to find out how to graduate or transfer. The school has great relationships with many top universities, local and in other states. The honors program is a great opportunity to get a leg up on transferring to a top university. The honors courses are not really harder, you just have a little extra work than the normal course does.No matter what your interest is, OCC has something that will interest you. They have great vocational and certification programs, and can help you with job and internship opportunities. There are many highly successful OCC Alums looking to hire and know that the students got top notch education. Some very famous people and brands got their start at this school. My best advice is to make as many friends as possible and network always. You are at a school with a very large international pool of students and you can get some very great first hand cultural experiences if you are open to it. You never know who you may meet at OCC, it could be a future CEO of a Fortune 500 company.These are the best tips I can pass along after my 5 years at OCC. I went at my own pace and learned invaluable skills for all areas of life, I hope you to too!

I was a student at Orange Coast College during 1990-1992. It was a great experience, starting from all the help offered by staff, teachers and administration, great campus facilities, great possibilities to start your career, great and patient teachers giving you always assistance and teaching much more than just content needed to pass the exams. Behind many teachers were magnificient people, full of good spirit and always loving humans. A great example was Mr Herb Livsey! If you want to start forming your life and career, I m sure OCC will provide you with much more than just studies.

Great school. Perfect community college to attend for 2 years worth of credits and transfer to a Cal State or UC. The only problem, which I think relates to all community colleges, is that there are a lot of people who are wasting their time or that are not taking school and their studies seriously. If you can stay away from hanging out with the wrong people or time wasters, you will really enjoy OCC.

The Worst school ever full of shame dont get me started on student aid dept and district when I called about my files goes to the voicemail. If your a conservative students your ridicule and shamed for standing up free speech rights. I thought school safe place express ideals. The self pace math staff they are rude to students talk down to us. I was force to pay out pocket even while docs were sitting in box. The dean of students is a joke like the president Harkins with handling all concerns. The district president grant isnt for brown act and education code if students cant express themselves on campus. When you research this college I learned .The Orange Coast College foundation program past is filled with corruption, . Instead a student is retaliated against for standing up for themselves and student rights isnt dignity or humanity. This salvage opportunities for students. I wasnt too surprise my shameful experience on campus and administration.

They have a very nice track and field and a football stadium. Its close to the beach and its a perfect place to go there in a hot day. I used to take classes over there. It is a great college after all.

I graduated from OCC in 1959 with an Associates degree in Animal Science, when they still had a great Agriculture program.Too bad there is no longer such a program, but when city slickers take over, Aggies bite the dust and a fine school became just another Liberal Arts community college surrounded by sub-divisions.

This is pure lunacy! When one of your instructors calls the democratic election of Donald Trump an act of terrorism, that is perhaps one of the most absurd things I have ever heard. It is also dangerous, as it undermines our election process while also being misleading at best. Professors who use their positions as bully pulpits should not have a job at any public university. This is an outrage--one which I hope this college will quickly remedy. Public shaming of students for their political views is not only ethically wrong but also a gross misuse of our tax dollars. This professor should possibly lose her job after this or at least receive much counseling so this wont happen again.

If youre looking for excellent job-preparation programs, Orange Coast is one of the best-connected and vocationally-oriented colleges Ive seen, and will amply prepare you for a $15/hour job to get you by.But if youre looking for a real college that provides a comprehensive and in-depth education, Orange Coast is not the correct choice. Olga Perez Stable Cox should be punished and removed from the faculty of this university. The Coast Federation of Educators, AFT 1911 should also be sanctioned for supporting the libelous and harmful acts that the professor in question caused against the students in her classroom. Any student that spoke to defend their beliefs were silenced and threatened with failing grades by Professor Olga Perez Stable Cox, but there is no recorded evidence of this so the university did not follow up on the students complaints when they were brought to administrators. This is the WRONG way to use public funds. We are the consumers and we pay your salaries and we are not going to accept this kind of behavior from our educators anymore!

I started OCC in 1979. I did not understand how to succeed in College. I was a poor high school student. I failed my classes the first term. I thought I was not smart enough to make it in college. I took a year and a half off. Came back in 1981 do to girlfriend suggesting I could succeed. Made it through spring term with respectable grades. Started feeling cocky and got through a few more terms. Did not finish A.A. then, came back in 1993 and went for 2 years and completed A.A in 1996. Moved onto Cal Poly, earned B.S., finance, real estate, and law then onto Azusa Pacific and earned MBA. Now at Cal Poly working on Master in Architecture. Will finish in a couple of years then either back to O.C.C. to do culinary, art, music,... programs or onto UCI to do Jurist Doctorate. Eventually will do both. I love OCC. I have about 150 units now. Probably close to 250 by the time I finish O.C.C. This school will change your life, it did and is changing mine. :)

Orange Coast College will give you a top notch education for a tenth of the price. I transferred around a couple of times, from UCR to Saddleback to OCC to finishing up at UCI, and OCC was the best in terms of education. Every UCI classmate Ive had who started at OCC has said the same thing, no one beats OCCs professors.
