Took mom here for her eye exam as she needed new glasses. Loved the fact that we didn’t have to wait long but were serviced right away. Very welcoming, helpful and pleasant staff in the front. Doctor is very attentive and thorough. I sat w mom in his office while he performed the test. Vouching for his knowledge because of the perfect prescription he gave for mom’s glasses and was not pushing for the unnecessary cataract surgery as some scam artists. We’ve ordered glasses for reading and glasses for distance here as well. They are perfect and mom is super happy. Much gratitude to doctor and his team!

I have never been to such an AWESOME optometry office ever before. 10/10 place. If I could give them more stars I would. I had a bad experience at a different optometry office, came here, and I’m so happy to have found my new go-to optometry office.Really great customer service and excellent quality work. For some reason every year I go in for an eye exam the doctor can never get my prescription right. I was not too hopeful but I had heard Dr. Taranto was good so I drove up to Studio City. From the moment I walked in I felt very relaxed. I got my glasses in 2 days and it has been 2 weeks and for the first time in my life I don’t feel like the glasses are too strong. Great experience all around.

Its always a great feeling to find an absolute gem of a business within any industry. Your forever go to! I am absolutely thrilled to have found my GO TO Optometrist. There would never be a need to go anywhere else!The first thing that blew me away was how knowledgeable Jeff was. Dr. Taranto and his staff were some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever worked with. I have never needed glasses before, but I noticed my eyesight getting a little worse so I went in for an exam. Dr. Taranto didn’t rush me at all, he answered all of my questions and explained thoroughly what was going on. In his office, he had prescription glasses and sunglasses that were so cute too! Really happy with the experience, will continue going to him forever!

Dr. Jeff has been my optometrist for the past 5 years and I cannot recommend his practice enough! I look forward to my appointments every time because I know Dr. Jeff will have a wild story to tell from his many years in the field. Ive seen a few iterations of front desk staff and the entire teams charisma and expertise makes going to this doctor - dare I say - fun. Victor is up front now and he does not disappoint! Always a laugh to be had at Opulent Eyes and I feel truly cared for each time I call, email, or set foot into the office.

Best eye exam I have ever had! No dilation drops, and no air puff! I was in and out in 20 minutes. I have never IN MY DAYS seen clearer out of my prescription glasses and contacts. The doctor and the front desk lady were both very cool! Very laid-back and chill atmosphere and I didn’t even feel like I was in a “doctor’s office” (in a good way). I love this place, and I really appreciate Dr. Taranto!!

This place is amazing! Dr. Jeff and Diana are awesome, and they made my visit quick and painless. Dr. Taranto did a very thorough exam without having to put drops in my eyes and then Diana quickly took me through my vision insurance plan and helped me pick out an awesome pair of Tom Fords for driving and I also picked out another pair that I made into prescription sunglasses. Very affordable and I will only be going to Opulent Eyes for my eye exams for now on!

Dr. Taranto is extremely personable and professional! I visited him for a contact lens fitting and annual eye exam. He takes his time with patients to explain all aspects of the exam and the rationale for different tests. I usually dread going to an optometrist because of the “puff” from the glaucoma machine. No fears - Dr. Taranto uses a “puffless” handheld device to measure eye pressure! He has a fantastic retinal mapping machine that eliminates the need for dilation! I love that he keeps up-to-date with the latest technological advances in the field. I also value how patient he is with the vision checks. My previous optometrists would always get frustrated that I wasn’t able to decipher between option 1 or option 2 immediately. Dr. Taranto takes the extra time and consideration to make sure his patients are comfortable. Victor at the front desk was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about the insurance process. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at the office!

(I RECOMMEND)This was my first trip to this doctor for an exam and I gotta say, his practice felt just like home. Dr Jeff Tanranto is a very personable person and will be a straight shooter when it comes to the health of your eye.His staff is just as friendly and we talked about a range of topics while I waited for my eye to dilate.I think the best part is that, this isnt a franchise of a business and who doesnt like to support the local businesses.Overall, my appointment went very smoothly and I even got a few trial pair of contacts to hold me over till I order my own.

What really makes Dr. Taranto and his staff at Opulent Eyes is how much they care for each patient and the state of the art technology they use. What I appreciate about Dr. Taranto is how he takes the time to explain the images of my eye, the changes in my prescription and what I can do to help keep my eyes healthy. I mentioned the images of my eye. Wow, that machine that takes the picture of all of my eye is amazing and I havent seen it at many places. It sure beats dilating my eyes. And I love the selection of glasses they have. Everyone there helped me find the right frame and the quality of what they have (both frames and lenses) is really impressive!

They care about your vision and go above and beyond to take care of you. My vision has IMPROVED since seeing Dr. Taranto. I never liked going to the eye doctor because I hate that air puff they use, and I also never liked having dilating drops. I have always worn glasses and contacts my whole life because it has been hard to see far away. I’m 22 so I figured that I’m too young for Laser eye surgery, so I googled Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) and found out that Dr. Taranto specializes in it. Ortho-k is where you sleep in a special contact lens at night and when you wake up in the morning you do not need glasses or contacts to see throughout the day. At first, I was skeptical but after having my examination at Opulent Eyes Dr. Taranto told me that I was a good candidate because I did not have that much Astigmatism. Diana explained everything to me and when the lenses came in (4 days later) I came back so they could teach me how to take them out and put them in. The next day I woke up and I couldn’t believe how good my vision was! I sleep in the lenses every night and now I do not need to buy and glasses or soft contacts for years to come! If you are sick and tired of paying for glasses or contacts, then I highly recommend going to see Dr. Taranto for this amazing painless procedure.

Best Eye Doctor ever! I have always had problems with my glasses since I was 12 years old and I thought that it was normal to see double. Dr. Jeffrey was the first doctor to ever figure out that I needed something special in my glasses to bring the images together. I had my doubts because all the eye doctors before him thought told me that they would take care of the issue and once I got the glasses things would still split into two while I was driving. I have had them for 3 weeks and I have never seen so well in my life! Everything is single now and I bought a clear pair, and a sunglass pair with these awesome green colored mirror lenses for driving with my prescription in them. I also got another pair of gold mirrored sunglasses with no prescription in them, to put over my contact lenses while I’m at the beach. He put something in them so I would not see double and it has been awesome. Diana the Optician was amazing, and she was so patient with helping me pick out my glasses and teaching my daughter how to put in and take out her contact lenses. Dr. Taranto also did a great job with my 8 year old daughter, and now she does not have to wear any glasses at all during the day because she sleeps in this special contact lens at night that makes her see perfect during the day time without having to use glasses. It is called Ortho-K and now she doesn’t have to wear any glasses while she plays softball. I recommend Opulent Eyes to anybody who wants excellent customer service as well as awesome eye care.

This one is tough. I like Dr. Taranto very much. he is personable and knowledgeable with an excellent bedside manner; he has the most up-to-date equipment and did a good job explaining the procedures and why my prescription was what it was. His front office/storefront is something else entirely.I like to have glasses made by my optometrist; in my experience, they provide the closest thing to my actual prescription. So I decided to do that again -- big mistake. My appointment was on Dec. 28th; I purchased new frames and lenses that day. I was told it would take about a week and a half; that is longer than I am used to waiting, but I thought it was worth it.On Jan. 6th, I emailed to get a status update - no reply. Since no one replied to my email, I called and was told my glasses would be ready on January 11th or 12th.When I called on Jan. 14th and was told that my lenses had come in, however one of the lenses needed to be redone. I was assured that a stern conversation was had with the lab, they were rushing my lenses, and I would absolutely have them on Tuesday, Jan. 18th. I called on Wednesday, Jan. 19th, and left a message; once again, no return phone call.On Thursday, Jan. 20th, I went into the office. I was told my lenses had arrived; they just needed five minutes to put them in my frames. After five minutes, the manager came back and once again told me the story of lenses being delivered incorrectly. I reminded him that he had assured me they would be ready on Tuesday, and it was Thursday. He told me that it was the labs fault, they were behind, and it was this way all across the industry. I reminded him of my unanswered calls and emails; his excuse was that he had a lot on his plate.I asked for a refund and went to my car to get the correct credit card to be refunded. When I returned, he was on the phone with the lab (Where I learned that my re-do lenses hadnt even been started). He then proceeded to have a conversation with the lab, on speaker, in front of me. (In what I can only guess was an attempt to prove that it was the labs fault?) At that point, I just wanted a refund. I had already pointed out that while I might not like lab delays, I could undoubtedly understand them; it was the unanswered calls and emails that turned me off.Bottom line, if you simply want an eye exam, Dr. Taranto is great, for anything else, find another place.

I came in for my yearly eye exam and Dr. Taranto told me about Ortho-K. I had doubts, at first, but after he explained everything, he showed me the educational video in the exam room and it made a really good impression on me. I decided to give it a try because I do not want to wear glasses and contacts anymore. Anyone with glasses knows they are the worst and best things sometimes. I sleep in the lenses every night and now I do not need any more glasses or contacts during the day, and I’m 20/20! Ortho-K rocks!!

Dr. Taranto and his staff provided superlative service. Dr. Taranto was genuinely interested in my well being and in getting my vision perfectly corrected for both near and far sighting. He has the most up to date examination equipment (including a cool machine called Optomap) that can help him detect many conditions and diseases at their earliest stages. His office was able to accomodate my schedule and kept me well informed when contacts & eyeglasses were ready for pickup. Dr. Taranto takes vision insurance and all in all, is the go-to Optometrist for Studio City and beyond.

I have always had a very high astigmatism and because of this I could never wear contacts. I tried a few times but they made my eyes so dry, and no matter which brand I tried it was always too uncomfortable and it just wasnt clear because of my high astigmatism. I was so sick of having to wear glasses everyday but I did not want to get Lasik. I saw Dr. Taranto and he put me in a Scleral contact lens and it literally changed my life! I ended up throwing away my old glasses because he told me it is safe to wear this lens everyday. The vision with the lens is so much clearer than any of my glasses prescriptions and the lens keeps my eyes super moist! The lenses were pricey but they were worth every penny! Im unsure of why no other Eye Doctor ever told me about Scleral contact lenses? Great experience, thank you Dr. Jeff!

Best Glasses selection in the valley! Diana was amazing and took her time helping me pick out 3 pairs of glasses. I got one for computer, prescription sunglasses, and clear glasses for driving. I have a very high prescription and every time I got my glasses from Costco or Warby Parker I felt like I was going to fall over while walking. After Dr. Taranto gave me a quick and thorough exam (where he did not even have to dilate me and showed me the inside of my eye on a computer!) he walked me out to Diana who explained everything about my insurance perfectly. I like the fact that they have independent frame lines that are the big-name brands. When I received my glasses, I put them on and did not get the feeling I got with the Warby or Costco glasses. I guess you really do get what you pay for?

I heard of Dr. Taranto from a friend of mine. He told me about a procedure Dr. Taranto offers where you sleep in a special contact lens so that when you wake up, you do not need contacts and glasses to see during the day. Glasses or contacts can be annoying at times so I decided to give it a shot. The procedure is called Orthokeratology and it has been over a month now and I’m seeing better than I ever have but no longer need glasses or contacts. I sleep in the lens every night, and simply take it off in the morning and put it in a case by my bed. This is a less costly alternative to Lasik and without the risk. If youd like to forgo the need to wear contacts or glasses, try this out. Dr. Taranto is an expert in the area.

I have always had problems seeing from far away and I was thinking about getting lasik, but I didn’t want to spend $4,800+ for it. So I did my research and found out Ortho-k which is a safe and less expensive alternative to laser eye surgery. I then started searching for the best Eye Doctor that specializes in Ortho-k and it was Dr. Taranto. I went to see him and he told me that although my prescription is high (I was a -6.00) I was still a good Candidate because I didn’t have that much astigmatism. I also liked that Opulent Eyes has their own Ortho-k fitting sets, so I left with the lenses that day. When I saw him the next day I was a -4.25 in both eyes. He gave me some loaner contacts and I saw him a week later and I was a -2.50. After 2 weeks I finally have no prescription and I don’t need to use any contacts or glasses anymore!! After waking up and not being able to see 3 feet in front of me for so many years of my life, I’m still amazed that after I wake up and take out the Ortho-k lenses that I can see perfectly across the room! Awesome Doctor, awesome staff, and now I have awesome vision everyday!

I just want to say thank you to Dr. Taranto, Lynn, and Diana for my amazing Kodak HD single vision glasses with the Kodak Blue coating. I been wearing glasses for over 18 years and the clarity, visibility, and protection I get from the Kodak lenses by far beats any lenses. Totally worth every penny you spend on them. This place feels like a scam. The doctor and receptionist up sold numerous products and procedures when I went in for a basic annual exam. Not to discredit the doctor as he gave a solid exam, but this office is more interested in making money. I also asked for my prescription numerous times and have yet to receive any documents more than a month after my visit. I’m aware that optometry is a business but this office holds profit above service.

I was considering Laser eye surgery and I didn’t know if I was a good candidate, so I booked an eye exam with Dr. Taranto at Opulent Eyes Optometry in Studio City. He told me I was a good candidate for Lasik, but he also told me about another option, that was a safer non-surgical alternative where I would sleep in a comfortable contact lens every night and then when I wake up I would not need to use glasses or contact lenses to see from the morning until bedtime. The name of the process is called OrthoKeratology, or Ortho-k for short. At first I didn’t believe him but then he showed me a video which thoroughly explained the process and because the price was significantly less than Lasik I thought I would give it a try. My prescription was in the 4.00s and I had some astigmatism so when I saw him back the next day after sleeping in the lenses I was down to a -2. The next time I saw him back a few days later i had no prescription and all my astigmatism was gone!! For the first time in my life I see perfect everyday without having to wear glasses or contacts!!! I simply keep the lenses by my bed and put them in before I go to sleep and I don’t feel them because my eyes are closed. I guess my question is why everybody doesn’t do this!!!?? Thank you so much Dr Jeff! I encourage anybody who is tired of wearing glasses or contacts to go see Dr Taranto at Opulent Eyes Optometry and see if you are a good candidate for Ortho-k.

You see, I was getting off the airplane and my old pair of glasses fell off my forehead when i reached for my bag; and then the guy behind me (who looked like Rick Flair) stepped on them and split them right up the middle! No worries; Opulent eyes and Dr. Jeffrey Taranto squeezed me into their tight schedule that day and hooked me up with a sweet pair of Masunagas! He wasnt chincy about the price either!

I’m in undergrad and I have been getting so much eye strain and headaches on the computer. I have to be on the computer for hours every day and then at the end of the day I have a splitting headache, and everything is double. I went in to see Dr. Taranto and he explained to me that I needed prism in my glasses. I had been seeing the same Optometrist for the last 6 years and he always told me that I spent way too much time on the computer. After I got my glasses from Dr. Taranto, I no longer have any headaches, eye strain, or double vision! If I could give 6 stars I would!

I want to truly take the opportunity to thank Dr. Jeffrey Taranto for introducing me to Ortho-K. Prior to visiting doctor, my vision was a -5.00 on both eyes. I wear both contacts and glasses for over 15 years and to be honest, I sometime wish that I didnt have to wear anything to see 20/20. I consulted with Dr. Taranto about getting Lasik but that I had reservation because of the side effects that some of my friends got when they had their Lasik. That when Dr. Taranto introduce Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) to me. I never heard this procedure ever, but apparently this procedure has been used in Europe, Asia, Germany, etc. Ortho-k is the technical term for non-permanent elimation/ reduction of myopia (near sight) by wearing a specialized hard contact lenses when you sleep. These lenses are similar to retainer. You are basically training your eyes to see 20/20. You have to bear in mind that it is a process, and therefore, it takes time. After the first night of wearing my ortho-k lenses, I woke up slightly blurry and wearing my glasses did not help because my prescription had already change. After day 2, I woke up seeing 20/20. It was the best feeling ever. I never notice how vibrant color are and how bright the sun is. I find myself wearing my sunglasses more, but I am not mad at that. After all, I can wear designer sunglasses now and not have to worry about my vision, nor do I have to worry about my contact drying up or falling out. I highly recommend this process to anyone looking for an alternative to Lasik.

I’m an actor and i have a high prescription and having to wear glasses has made it difficult to get roles and I have never been able to wear contact lenses because it’s so hard to touch my eyes. I have tried and tried but I can never get them in. I was thinking about Lasik but I didn’t want to have any surgery. I decided to try Ortho-k and the staff was very helpful in helping me build up the confidence to get the lenses in and then I didn’t feel them because I would just close my eyes and go to sleep. After the 3rd night I could see well enough to not have to wear my glasses at all during the daytime and I’m so happy I gave this a shot. If you are tired of having to wear glasses or contacts to see them Ortho-k is a no brainer. Dr Jeffrey at Opulent Eyes Optometry is the best eye doctor to see because he specializes in Ortho-k.

I was referred to Doctor Jeff by my neighbor here in Sherman Oaks.. I made an appointment went in to see Dr. Taranto last week.The lady who greeted me was great no she handed me some forms to fill out and said if you have any question just ask. then said Dr. Taranto will be with you in a few minutes. About 10 minutes passed I filled out a few forms and this kid came out of the exam room with a patient and they were talking and a little laughing. The kid told the guy he would have is glasses next week and Nancy would help him pick out a pair of frames. He looked at me and said... You must be Mr. Cooper and put his hand out to shake. He invited me to the back of the office and sat me down by a few machined. He cleaned them off with an alcohol rub and I mean he really cleaned them. that was a good start. He told me ever the exam room with my paper work. We sat down and he looked at the paper work for a moment and said... I find it best if I ask you what is going on. We spoke for about 10 minutes and he asked me all kinds of questions... actually he was a really smart guy. Then he said lets do this. He took out a clean swab and sterilized everything I thought that was a good start. While he was checking my eyes he was asking about me family and my parents and any history or eye problems.. not that I know of. He finished and said I had healthy eyes I said why didnt you dilate them he said I have state of the art equipment no need to dilate. He then took me into the exam room did a few more test and then started with different lenses. He was fast, painless and was really interested in what I had to say. He finished everything and said my eyes were healthy and just needed to fix a little near nearsightedness. He was great he said call me any time if I had a question and Nancy would help with my frames. This was a good experience.When i finished Nancy told me the total amount and to be honest I was really surprised I thought it was going to be 2 or maybe 3 times as much. They definitely have my vote of confidence and when I need glasses or my wife we have a new eye doctor to add to our list of medical professionals. Thanks Doc... Robert Cooper

Im 22 years old and Ive always needed glasses to see when I drive or play sports. So I was thinking about getting lasik eye surgery. Dr. Jeff told lasik would work but I would need to get it corrected in a year or two since my eyes are still growing since Im still young. I went with Ortho-K instead. It was cheaper than lasik and i dont have to worry about wearing glasses or contacts while playing sports. If you havent heard of Ortho-K then you should look it up. But basically you wear your contacts overnight and youre able to see well without any glasses or contacts during the day. Its pretty simple and you should ask Dr. Jeff about it. Just put the lenses in at night and your vision is perfect during the day. It feels a little weird at first but after a couple nights youll get used to it and you dont notice anything. These should work well for me and save me some money on glasses and contacts until i get a little older and then do lasik.

I highly recommend this place! Dr. Taranto and his staff are amazing. They are very quick and they are very good at what they do. Dr. Taranto was very detailed and thorough in his examination, he did multiple exams carefully to make sure he didnt miss anything, and provided me with a clear explanation of my diagnosis.

One of the worst experiences you can have in a establishment. The conversation started with a heated disputed over what my provider offered. Thenprovider proceeded to tell me that she doesn t care what my insurance tells me. I was completely taken back, but tried to de escalate the situation. This lady then proceeded to be aggressive and the doctor even told her to calm down numerous times. All over my benefits???? I then tried to call and out the insurance company on speakerphone, but her attitude towards me was clearly motivated by my presence. I literally had to ask an officer to to deescalate the situation but they lied. Got it all on video. If you have any respect for yourself dont entertain business here. Worst ever. The fact that I have to deal with that as a customer is horrible.
