Passing through after a visit to UCSB and needed a place to do some work for 3 hours. Great vibe, friendly, relaxed atmosphere, lots of space, power outlets and great coffee. They have a cool patio area (also with plugs) and even an arcade! Seems like a mix of locals and visitors. Was able to park along street in front (1 hour free). If you are in Goleta area looking for coffee and a place to chill/work, highly recommend.

We’re driving from Simi Valley on our way up the coast to Cambria for a few days of r&r. We decided to stop for coffee and a break from driving and found Old Town Coffee on Yelp. The place was filled with students studying quietly. We ordered a couple of their baked goods (bagel and croissant) which were quite good. My husband ordered black coffee and I got a Chai Latte, both were excellent. The restrooms were decent and the staff at the counter were very nice and helpful. Prices were average. Next time we’re in that area we’ll be stopping there again!

Absolutely loved how flexible and considerate the staff / owners were and glad they were able to make an interesting spicy drink. Next time I’d like to try something else like a lavender latte. They didn’t have the special drink options listed because it’s out of season now, but it’d be nice to see what other unique drinks they may have to offer!

Came in here for the first time and was ready to find a new coffee spot considering all the good reviews I’ve read on here but was shocked at how I was treated. I have worked customer service for 6+ years and always have the upmost respect and kindness when visiting new places, but was uncomfortable when I wasn’t even greeted. Rather I felt rushed to order seconds after coming in and felt completely ignored. I just brushed this off and thought hey maybe she was just having a bad day, but as i stood there waiting for my coffee I saw their attitude completely change when a white woman began to order…. Never in my life have I experienced any form of discrimination and I thought maybe I was overthinking. However after reading some reviews on here and also bringing this up to some of my friends and coworkers most of them can attest and agreed that they have also experienced similar experiences! I am utterly disgusted and disappointed that places and people like this exist. My advice to anyone considering visiting this spot, not only is this place racist but the coffee was also mediocre. Additionally, after reading the reviews and responses, the owners seem extremely incompetent and unable to take accountability. Definitely not a good look. I would definitely recommend another local coffee spot.

Nice place in a small part of Goleta. Good coffee, danish, etc. I did find one not-great part of the iced latte: the plastic cups have a fairly big cap between the edge of the cup and the hole you drink thru. Not terrible but a different cap on the cup would be good. Otherwise: drink up!

This sure is a fun new addition to Old Town Goleta. Coffee was delicious - excellent almond milk latte. They serve lots of pastries, including Hook & Press donuts which are divine - can never go wrong with the brown butter. Space is very comfortable with a huge outdoor area. Couches to lounge on, games to play, and local artwork on the wall for sale. Super cool environment. Will definitely be back.

This is a great spot to go and work, to chat with a friend or let the kids run. There are a variety of games in the enclosed patio at the back that the littles (or bigs) can play with while you enjoy your coffee and a friend. I didnt get a chance to try the food but the coffee was good and I will be back!

Unethical coffee shop. Like most corporations, willing to take advantage of people in order to protect the bottom line and make money. Use a proper delivery service to have all that milk delivered or pay the industry standard to the person delivering it. Stop being cheap and greedy.Edit: I have been in your establishment as an independent contractor where you practice deceptive business practices. You take advantage of delivery services and drivers by cutting corners and refusing to pay a fair wage. Let’s break it down. You want over 50 gallons of milk delivered (and your employees will request it delivered to your cooler instead of door) and all you can pay the delivery person is $4. That doesn’t even buy a gallon of gas or a coffee in your shop. You’re cheap and greedy. Use a proper delivery service for bulk orders or pay your delivery personnel properly.

Great local coffee shop set in a rustic cozy industrial space, serving up all your favorite hot and cold beverages, plus an assortment of amazing baked goods and quiches. I would be honest with you: if you like coffee, this place is a MUST. Tim and his crew were amazing. The Latte and Cappuccino are made with perfection - from the amount of milk,temperature, texture, and ....THE COFFEE. Home roasted (you can also purchase the beans) and simply amazing. And why not grab some food as well? The area is cozy, pet friendly, high speed internet, and some games there as well. We visited there 4 days (out of 5) that we were in Santa Barbara. HIGHLY recommend 👌 we will be back soon.

We are from out-of-town and have really enjoyed stopping here almost every day during our stay. The cinnamon rolls are excellent, along with coffee and teas. There are some table and video games in the back, along with an outdoor patio. Service was quick and very friendly and prices were reasonable.

The staff here are very friendly and they make exceptional coffee!! I had their Cappuccino and an Affogato! They are both amazing and they put quality into their products. I love this place. It has a nice environment for hanging out outside and plenty of room indoors to work with table space and outlets. The service is always really good and the people working here are very nice and attentive. I really appreciate that they have great loose leaf teas that they serve in a pot with a timer, which is not something many cafés offer. Im not a coffee drinker myself, but my friends say its good. They also have a selection of pastries, empanadas, and other small foods. Great place and I keep coming back!

I cant believe I had never been here before till today, I drive past it all the time. Its incredible. A huge indoor and outdoor space, the coffee is probably cheaper than you find anywhere else in SB (I got a great ethiopian pour over for 4 dollars), and they even have ping pong tables. I will be coming back as often as I can.

Updating my review. Usually excellent tasty coffee drinks, well made and enjoyable sweet and savory offerings. Had no complaints until recently.Last 2 visits my oat cap has been flat, no creamy taste and twice now it really didnt taste good at all and I had to throw it out. Change in coffee or something? Spoiled milk? Different beans? Not made as well, new barista still learning? Evidence in being heavier, not foamy, not tasty. Even upsetting my digestion and leaving bad taste. Hope its temporary issue!Also wondering why they got upset when asked to replaced bacon on the avo toast. Was told No Substitutions in a harsh way also by the barsista. In that case why not just pick something up at the grocery store? I can do avo toast at home so going out needs to be nice, yummy and served with care.Will give this shop a bit of a rest and try again later...................Prior ReviewLove this coffee shop, sometimes parking is difficult and I do wish they offered more non meat savory options however the coffee is excellent, the food they do offer is great, esp love their cinnamon buns and the service is fast and friendly. My friends and I LOVE this place. We are students at UCSB and come here almost 2 times a week because of the amazing atmosphere, the friendly workers, and the quality of the drinks. The drinks are not over priced like other coffee shops around Goleta. I highly recommend coming to Old Town and supporting this local coffee shop!

Nice, local coffee shop that has good coffee and a great selection of quality pastries and sandwiches. The owner/manager is really kind. The reason I give it 4 stars is that I asked for a “splash of milk” in my drip coffee, but the owner told me no, that there was half & half, and that I could help myself. Milk and half & half are not the same thing, and I personally find half & half disgusting. I asked for milk, and she told me no. Overall, a nice local business that I encourage all to visit when in Goleta.

Stop to get our coffee on our way back from Cambria. A pleasant surprise. We did not plan to stay, but we did. We were greeted by friendly staff. The place is much larger than it appears. The oat milk latte was excellent. It has been my habit to check for the potential art works under the coffee cap. To my surprise, it was there. The outdoor patio is spacious. I recently moved back to SB and have found the local coffee scene a little lackluster in my part of town. Everything nearby seems corporate or has a nice atmosphere but the coffee is lacking . I was pleased to discover OTC nearby and brought the family with over the weekend. They have a great space, with an amazing patio out back, the whole place is much larger than I would have thought from the street view. Everybody seemed extremely friendly, coffee was great, and our 8 month old little girl enjoyed looking at all the different plants and canine friends that seemed be hanging out with their respective owners. Very pleased to know I will have a new go -to spot, and Im looking forward to bringing the in-laws when they arrive this week.

I found a place that if I was running a coffee shop I would design and run the same way. Old Town Coffee in Goleta. The place is wonderful. They thought enough ahead to install electrical outlets everywhere. Nearly all of the tables and chairs have their own outlet. Something simple, but shows you how much they thought of everything.The decor is rustic, laid back and comfortable. The patio is such a relaxing place I lose track of time. I need to be more thoughtful as sometimes all of the tables are full and I need to leave so that others can enjoy the view and the friendly people.The owners are the best. They remembered my name after the first time.I drive several miles out the the way, past numerous good coffee shops to spend a nice relaxing morning there.Oh, and the coffee- excellent, served with warmth and love every time.

From the live entertainment, to the food and art pop-ups out back, you can really tell they take pride in their community. Really good coffee and empanadas. Super friendly staff who remember your face. I used to come here to work. The only downsides are the outdoor music (which isnt concentration friendly, but definitely would appeal to others), and the smell of fumes (which could be temporary). I would still recommend Old Town and will probably come back for more.

I was having a pleasant Monday afternoon until while using the restroom (after drinking my coffee), someone jiggled the locked door which I yelled occupied and didnt think anything of, only to have the locked door manually unlocked and opened by the girl working behind the counter. As the door opened I yelled OCCUPIED once more but it was whipped open regardless. Needless to say, having the people seated outside of the bathroom see me on the toilet was not how I anticipated spending my work break. There was no real apology, just a quick sorry and then a partial re-shutting of the bathroom door. Mortifying.

So we were looking to get a coffee and decided this would be the place to visit. However, upon arriving we saw the sign that said you had to have a mask to go inside. That is due to the health dept requiring every business to mandate it. Since we didnt have a mask we were contemplating on where to go. While deciding, the manager or owner approached us and said he had two new masks if we wanted them. We politely accepted and went inside. We ordered an iced mocha and a vanilla cold brew coffees.They were perfectly balanced where you could taste the coffee with the flavoring. Neither one was over powered the other. So disappointing. We loved their location downtown so wanted to swing by this location on our way out of town. One person was handling all the orders, while the two other workers just chatted with each other. Then another person, who had been chatting with a friend, came behind the counter and just watched the women making all the coffees rather than helping her. I waited almost 20min for a coffee, even though there was hardly any customers waiting. When the coffees were finally ready, they weren’t even made correctly. Such an unfortunate way to end an awesome trip… i want to support local businesses but it is experiences like this that make me go to Starbucks.

At the time of my visit, I noticed one of the employees was not wearing a mask (it was an older gentleman with grey hair) and the young lady who took our order was unkind and had no welcoming customer service skills. Not only did she feel the need to harass this customer for not buying more than one coffee for the time he was there. I love OTC! Its a weekly (almost daily) work break for me and others in the area. The owners and staff are so friendly and take the time to get to know everyone. The food is tasty. Really love working here as there is ample amount of seating inside and outside. Then had a similar experience with previous reviews about the owner, Rachel. Was rushing to attend a zoom meeting on time, and there was a line for coffee, so I just sat down at a table outside and began my meeting. 1. I was frustrated as there was no WiFi and I couldn’t even connect and then Rachel came up to me and started barking at me about how tables are for customers. I totally understand this, but I was planning on buying a coffee after my meeting was done. Also found it ironic that she was pretty demanding when their WiFi hardly works. She has an annoying and rude demeanor and I am not surprised to see similar reviews saying the same thing.

Im rarely in OTG but while waiting for my car at Toyota I remembered reading about this coffee shop and recognizing the owners name as someone I grew up with here in SB. Was blown away by the great service, tasty coffee, and perfectly heated quiche. Super stoked that an OTC just opened up in my neck of the woods across from the Museum of Art!

Came across this place while waiting for my smog check at the local shop. Really quick service at 3pm and wonderful outdoor seating in the back. Perfect place to relax in Goleta with some tea. Simple but it does it very well.

I appreciate some aspects of this place like cheap coffee. But some girl with long blonde hair with pink streaks is wearing absolutely no mask today and even made my coffee. It’s not exciting considering I know at least 20+ people that either have Covid or have been exposed via someone they live with or even just a friend who has it, just in Santa Barbara (and i know more in other states) … that’s just gross. Plus we’ve had a mask mandate since august and this is not the first time I’ve seen workers at this coffee shop without masks. But right now - are you serious?Java station is a better coffee shop all around - go thereAlso want to add I’m not some hyped up paranoid liberal who I’m sure the owners must hate considering they’re obviously “anti mask.” Nor do I want to leave a review like this or ask them to repour my drink. But this is just seriously nasty and rude. Screw this place.

Want a break driving up 101, stop here. I did. Nice staff, lots of seating, and a great cappuccino. Barista dude was a pro. I see they also have Kombucha on tap. Great vibe, cool music. I didnt try any food. I seek out coffee all over the world, and these people do it right. I will come back here on future travels. Nice, clean, generous sized bathrooms.!!!

I was so glad for a coffee shop to open in old town. OTC has a really nice layout, I have been four times. The empanadas are a great snack. I have not tried any espresso but the regular coffee is weak and has the flavor associated with not using enough coffee for the amount of water. The music (at least in the back) on two ocassions was somewhat distractingly loud but I had one experience where the music was unbearably loud. I finally turned it down only to have it turned up again a few minutes later. I tried to give it one more chance but it was unpleasant for reasons I dont care to mention.

If you are into empanadas there is a food truck right outside Santa Cruz market parking lot with authentic empanadas (and covid-conscious too!) Coffee here is just alright. OTC is our favorite place in town. They roast their own coffee in-house and serve vegan and non-vegan empanadas. The space is really well designed, with cool indoor and outdoor areas, and the owners and staff are awesome and have been extra safe and accommodating during the COVID-19 madness.

Great spot in old town Goleta! Coffee is always hot and fresh, and their steamed milk drinks are fantastic. They have delicious teas also. Food options include some great baked goods such as muffins or cinnamon rolls, as well as delicious empanadas from Buena Onda. They have an outdoor patio with plenty of seating and plugs, as well ample space and seating inside. If I could zero stars I would. I ordered a drink and then I learned they were out of that drink so they gave my a much cheaper version without giving me any money back. I also ordered a burrito and it took twenty minutes and I found out that the reason it took so long was because she gave my order to other people in line for free because she thought the order was a mistake. Definitely not going back. Coffee wasn’t that great either. Goleta has many better options.

I can’t support a business that does not follow the COVID-19 regulations. Today I walked in with my friend and the staff were not wearing masks! Santa Barbara County Public Health mandates all guests and employees to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. I recommend going to Dean’s coffee shop just few minutes from here.

Unfortunately because of the owner it was a bad experience. While waiting for my coffee I found a wallet and car keys near the creamer and napkins station. I brought the forgotten articles to the cashier and letting her know that someone has forgotten his wallet and car keys. Suddenly the owner intervenes and takes full control of the situation (wich seemed initially as a good initiative or her). But when trying to explain where I found the wallet and car keys, without even listening to us, starts talking to me with a very directive tone and says that she knows who the wallet and keys belong to, directively says the she heard us the first time and just turns around and leaves.I uncomfortably drank my coffee (thinking I did something wrong) and left. Does not seem like en enjoyable place to work at and I just hope that the employees are not exposed to this. Ill just convince myself that the owner was having a bad day and leave it to that...
