5/5 This is a special place. Charming. Staff are exceptionally friendly. Bar over looking pool was great to get some work done before dinner. Brought my own bike and road the path to downtown for dinner, but looks like they offer bikes to borrow as well. Definitely coming back when I have more time to relax.

Magical. The art alone is worth a visit. The handwriting, fence mural, even the trash cans are gorgeously labeled. It’s clear how much thought has gone into every detail and it’s appreciated.The front desk shared detailed recommendations for hiking in the area and we spent most of our time on bikes going to and from town on a paved path and biked into the nature preserve nearby.PERFECT bed and bedding, high water pressure and nice shower products.

Hidden Gem! My friend and I stayed here just a few nights before moving to another hotel for a wedding in Ojai. But we fell completely in love with this little inn. It was cute and had everything you needed. Definitely not high end but it felt “high end hippie” to us. The room we had was way cuter and vibier than the five star resort we had to stay in after. The pool and backyard and bar area are incredible and hangout spots, oh and a sauna and hammock to get your zen on! They give you coffee every morning which is so cute and a mini breakfast. The rooms were simple but so vibey pink tile bathrooms and wooden interior with hippie tie dye curtains. And you feel safe because it’s Ojai. The other thing was the amazing little shop they have and the lady running it was so sweet we loved her! I was able to buy Mexican Copal incense which is always so hard to find. There is also a trail in the back so you can easily walk to the town. Such an amazing place with the best energy. I hope we can come back again soon.

This place was very accommodating for our 3 night stay! We had a room with a jacuzzi and it was lovely. The one and only thing I would rate the room poorly for was the lack of good lighting and I don’t think that’s the hotel’s fault. Even with all of the lights in the room on, you can barely see things at full capacity. Everything else was absolutely wonderful and we would definitely stay again if we were in town visiting. The staff was friendly, the rooms were nice. They provide an in-room basket full of snacks which is a nice option, especially when you crave a late night snack and nothing is open. One thing I’ll add that I absolutely loved was my knew knowledge of “plant based” toilet paper. It’s so soft and goes a long way, something I’ve already looked up on Amazon and plan on using in the future!

This place is absolute magic. This old motel has been updated in the most thoughtful way. The rooms are quaint, the premise is pristine, and the small touches make you feel at home. Though “trendy,” it truly has everything you need, and nothin’ you don’t. I spent a lovely evening using the shared sauna and enjoying the communal lawn area. Plus, the showers in the rooms are ~amazing~.My only flag is that the rooms are right off a busy road and the walls between rooms are very thin! It can be a bit loud for sleeping.

Pure magic! Thanks especially to Marty who went above and beyond to help me with a question I had about tile after my stay. The beds are so comfy, and we really appreciated the attention to detail due to their recent remodel. Love this place. A go to in Ojai with a wonderful wine bar and super accommodating and friendly staff.

My girlfriend stayed here 3 years ago when my dog was a puppy and took some cute photos of all the dogs hanging by the pool with fellow travelers. It was a magical time I wanted to recreate but my expectations of this stay were sadly not met. I pre-paid $820 for two nights only to find out dogs are no longer allowed in the pool area, a new development not listed with their dog friendly status online. Had I not prepaid I would have driven home. I ended up hanging out with my dog on the rooms front porch in 92 degree heat. I could done the exact same at home for free in Venice, CA in 72 degree weather with free water access. The place is listed as pet friendly which I guess now only refers to allowing dogs to stay in your room for $50. With a dog, it was a complete waste of $820.

The room is a bit overpriced in my opinion for what it offers. The walls are very thin and I could hear the family next door talking and thumping around.The hot tub in the room made the room better than average, and the bed was comfortable. They offer a snack basket full of expensive locally sourced treats to eat and sample with high price tags.~ The lighting is dark. The furnishings are retro chic sort of.The staff were helpful and very nice.I did not try the bar, or go into the lobby for coffee.

Great location with friendly staff and cute rooms. So great how they fixed up an old roadside motor lodge! Bikes to borrow, a cute pool with delicious shade and hammocks, bocce ball and corn hole. And even more delicious cocktails at the little bar next to the pool!!!! Book a room away from street if you want it quieter. Oh and complimentary coffee ready in the morning! Thanks for the awesome time!

Quaint and comfortable motor lodge with a hip ambiance is a solid 3 stars. The bar, pool and grounds are nicely curated. This was once a little more “hip” than it was this time around and is now a favorite for those who need a place to let their kids run around. It also seems to be a local favorite as most of the pool going families were locals not staying in the hotel. Maybe it was just an off day but it seemed that priority was given to those who weren’t staying at the hotel. The rooms are probably missing a couple lamps or maybe a skylight as they are quite dark even in the day but it wasn’t a deal breaker for me.

Disappointing to say the least, I saw/heard such good reviews about this place so I booked it for a 2 night stay in Ojai. The Jacuzzi bath (which I paid extra for) didnt work. The room was extremely noisy, the room next door had builders working in it from 8 am drilling, banging, and shouting. At one stage they had a full-on argument lasting around 15 minutes. They also seemed to be climbing all over the roof of my room...There is little privacy with the curtains of the window on the front needing to be kept shut the whole time so people cant see in (important when there are 3 builders outside walking back and forth all day), and the lighting is inadequate so youre pretty much sitting in the dark.No amenities are included except soap/shampoo/conditioner. There is a basket of things to buy in the room but at extortionate prices... not even a tea bag included in a $300-a-night room?

The staff at Ojai Rancho are wonderful and I did love the overall vibe. I have to say that I’d likely return only when the weather was cooler and hanging by the pool wasn’t the focus of our time. Our mother/daughter time was ruined by children whose parents thought it was fine for kids to use the same volume as they would in their own back yard pool. Fun is one thing—screaming, top of lung singing is another. The fault lies with inconsiderate, checked-out parents. The cocktail bar is very cute and the drinks tasty. The room was a dark but we weren’t there to be indoors—bed was comfy and the shower was great.

Take a trip back to the 50s with 21st century comforts! Our room has high ceilings and knotty pine paneling. We slept well in the king-size bed with plenty of pillows and lovely bedding. Our room includes a mini fridge, microwave and small electric kettle along with 2 mugs and 2 glasses. The jacuzzi tub is the real deal, not some sorry standard tub with jets that dont work. Of course there is also a shower. Each room has a porch with two tables and a table.

The Ojai Rancho Inn is a small motor lodge that looks like it was built in the 1950s. When you first arrive, its not too impressive, visually. But the place grows on you - its got that Ojai funky feel. If you go, get #19, which is the largest room. Its at the rear, and faces on a wide grassy garden area, and adjoins the pool and a small sauna on the other side. I did not see any rooms other than ours, which was furnished in knotty pine, with a synthetic wood floor (practical). The bed was plenty large (king or California king size) and a bit soft for my tastes, but very comfortable. The gas fireplace was a very nice amenity. Unfortunately, it stopped working at one point during the night. The bathroom was large, and everything was clean.We were not charged for an air mattress for our third person, which was nice. I was told when departing that Id receive a discount for the fireplace not working. I didnt ask for it, wasnt expecting it, but the clerk offered that. It showed up on my credit card a day or two after the charges.The rear of the property abuts a hiking trail, which is a benefit. The property is about a half-mile walk from downtown Ojai.

This place was absolutely adorable, and the price can not be beat. The room (#3) was aged, but well maintained and clean. We didnt use the tub, but the shower pumped out an endless stream of welcomed hot water when needed. The soaps included had a lovely scent. The bed was comfortable and soft. The frame was this beautiful piece of woodworking. Heater kept us nice and warm over night. I would highly recommend this place if youre passing through Ojai.

Over priced for what you get. Basic road side hotel with nice interior finishes and good branding. Room is extremely dark and opens up to parking lot. No privacy as windows face parking lot.Kids running around all day from pool and slamming doors constantly. Pool was crowded with tons of kids. For the price, I expected better.

A bit of a mixed experience. When you pay for the premium King you dont expect to be on the end of the row on the road or was very loud and not worth it. We did end the bath tub and the general quality of the place. I wouldnt roll the dice to stay here again though, ending up in the end room is trash.

Location was good, easy check in, pet friendly, well planned out property, pool & sauna, nice charcoal bbqs were a plus. Bike trail access to town and shops. Room was comfy though I didn’t stay in one with a jacuzzi :( bed was comfortable. Nice local art. Pretty hip hotel. I would stay here again.

I have never stayed at the hotel, but I have had a number of glasses of wine at the bar. Great vibe, cool mix of locals and visitors. Good selection of wine and beer, follow them on social media to see when food trucks and special events are going on. Always good fun. Once a year they throw a holiday makers event called Deck the Halls, once a month their is Folk Steady with acoustic music and during the summer they have food truck a couple times a month, Jolly Oyster and some others. Always really fun.

We had such a great time here. Cant wait to come back. Ojai is a real gem. The inn was clean and the staff very friendly. There was plenty to do during the day. Enough for a few days. The bike trail is just behind the inn and is really a great trip. The pool was surprisingly warm. We bought steaks from the local market and bbqed them by the pool. The boche court was a lot of fun. The grounds are well kept and really pretty at night. There was coffee in the mornings and tasty at that. We had 2 rooms one kitchen and one jacuzzi room. The jacuzzi was a lot of fun. There is plenty of room to throw a ball with the kids and at night the fam hit the little bar. Which they thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to another ojai trip.

We had a wonderful time here staying a couple of days on a tour of California. Rooms were comfortable and well designed. The small bar on the property was the definition of cozy with a small but smart selection of wine and beer. Staff were great, whole property was clean. Will return again next time I am in the Ojai area.

I was on a day trip to Ojai and decided to drop by and check chief’s peak bar out.The bartender Camille was very friendly and helpful. The drink and beer options were great. The music was very unique and calming even though I was loud like usual.Later we hung out by the pool and played some corn hole in their open space. They also have Bocce ball. It was fun.Good spot for a brew.

Ojai Rancho Inn is one of the best hotel experiences I’ve stayed at around the world.The rooms have a red woods and artistic vibe that is ultra unique, they have an outdoor pool space under the palm trees and a Finnish sauna. The staff feels like family every time I see them.Couldn’t recommend this magical boutique hotel experience higher.

This place is rad! I cant wait to return post-pandemic and basecamp out if here because there is a ton to do in the area, and property is an absolute gem. Get a large group of folks, couples, friends, family to all book together and make some dang-fine memories. Pool,-check. Bar,-check, ok awn games,-check, space to spread out and be together-apart from your group for a while,& check. The rooms are comfortable as heck. The bathroom in my unit was updated and felt totally modern, but thankfully the Rancho Inn didnt kill the vintage vibe of the place. Everything was on-point! Thanks, Rancho Inn!

I stayed here back in 2017, it was a very nice experience staying in Ojai Rancho Inn, far away from the city. Lovely rooms with baths.I loved how they give you a palo santo to clear the air.They have a good little swimming pool outside too.

The Rancho is our favorite place to stay in the Santa Barbara area! They are under new ownership in the last year and I must say that management gets art and culture! They work with local artists to make this place a completely unique experience! They also have hot tubs and all of the modern amenities in the rooms. It is luxury lodging without the luxury price tag.

Pretty unfortunate that the staff is untrustworthy. Left an expensive bikini and called right away and yet they don’t have it. Keepin it classy. This is on top of the fact that I didn’t sleep more than an hour because the roof and walls were creaking the entire night. Fun stuff.

Expensive and the rooms are rammed full of retro furniture and not particularly comfortable. We were travelling with two kids and this seemed to be a bit of an issue. Did not appreciate being woken up at 7am by leaf blowers and workmen whacking nailed outside our door.

Its totally worth a stop for anyone in the area.Exceptional swimming pool and garden, with various games (bowls, board games, etc.) and ranch-style rooms but spotless and modern.Top service always with a smile. Free coffee in the morning for customers, and free bikes to go into town (there are some quality restaurants and wine bars)Too bad theres no tea at the bar, but Im sure theyll add it to the menu soon :)
