I needed to get some memorial programs printed out after my father died. Because I was shaken up I wasnt able to do the rather simple online service. The print associate, Chris, was extremely helpful and kind. In the past I have shopped here for things for my office and Ive always been satisfied with the service and the price.

I’m not really a person who complains a lot about retail services (having been a retail manager for 6 years, I get it) but this location and time was my first experience with OfficeMax printing. I had to get some cards printed for my boss (I work at a funeral home and cemetery), and brought with me an example of the size I needed. When I walked in, no one greeted me, and it was almost impossible to get anyone’s attention. The store was practically empty. I walked over to the printing counter and two gentlemen were standing there, one younger, the other older. The younger man was helping a woman, and the older one was focused on the computer. I stood in line for about 10 minutes while the young man was helping the woman, when he finally looked at me and asked if I had a question. I said no I need something printed. He said “once I’m done with this lady, this department is pretty much closed.” And went back to help the lady. I’m thinking whatever, I’ll come back tomorrow. It was kinda rude the way he said it though.The next day (today), when I walked over to the printing counter, it’s just the older gentleman and he asked if I had a question. I told him I needed to get something printed, and explained what I needed. The example that I brought, he explained to me that they only have that material of paper in blue and green in the store, which would not work for my boss. If I wanted ivory, I’d have to special order it, which I understood. So I asked what my other options were, to which he slid some notebook at me and started going on about things I didn’t really understand. I called my boss to explain that they only had those two colors, and to ask what color I can do. Even my boss being on the phone and hearing the guy talk to me, said he was really rude. As my boss told me white, and a lighter material, the guy had already walked away to help someone who was working on the printer. I’ll remind you, this is my first time here, so after feeling helpless, I decided to just leave. I cannot stress enough that I understand how retail works, but there was absolutely no excuse for the lack of awareness. It was just so unprofessional, and I’ll be avoiding doing business here.

I’ve been coming to my local OfficeMax for many many years. I keep coming back because the people in the copy area are extremely helpful and I always look great with any project that comes from here. The service here is always great including today or Lyndee help me out finding the ever elusive, chalk pens.Thanks for another great experience. In and out so quick and with everything I need !!

We have been using the print center at Office Depot in Walnut Creek for years and they do a fabulous job of printing the majority of our marketing materials at a great price. We are very happy with the quality and turn around time. Shout out to Chris for all his help over the years!

They have poor customer service. No solutions just grumpiness… always. There’s always an issue. I’ve been coming here for a year because it’s around the corner from my home but it’s always stressful to come. Work on your customer service and offer real solutions to questions or ideas. I’ve been coming here for the past year. I need copies and lamination from time to time. I had the worst experience with Evelyn in the copy service. Didn’t want to assist me- insisted I use the “self service” copy machine which I expressed printed POOR quality images. I was happy to drop off my originals and come back later to get my project- she again said I needed to use the self service. Terrible copies at .67 each.Then I waited for lamination- again she went over several reasons why she couldn’t assist me or laminate. Again, She asked I make a copy of my original in terrible quality and then she would be willing to attempt to laminate.Lamination came out terrible- crooked and then to top it off she says I will be charged for asking for her assistance “then and there”.Take your business elsewhere- FedEx/Kinkos where people actually WANT to work and have a good attitude with paying customers. Not coming back.

I was at the Walnut Creek Office Max getting ink cartridges and thought my laptop just went kaput. Its very old, quite a few generations. Dylan (ask for him) helped me pick a new one out, very knowledgeable young man. He builds computers. He also ordered an ink cartridge for me. Since it was less than the store price he looked up each cartridge and gave me the online price. Im very happy with the service I received.

I didnt realize they were still here and have been going to Staples regularly. I saw an online deal and found that I could pick it up in-store and decided to stop back in. I forgot how much I like the layout, the selection, and even the people at this store. I browsed for awhile and found some good stuff. I really like this location. Staples is fine, but I think this will be my go-to now.

So much to choose from. The prices are competitive with Amazon. Great for school supplies or that odd cable you need that minute. They have all the printer inks you need. I was in the middle of a busy day on my computer when my mouse died. I ran over here and quickly got one in a few minutes.

Low quality service.I had a printing job I needed done. First it was You will have to come back at 8 o:clock tomorrow, despite the fact that there were two staff members standing around, so I went away and came back the next day. There goes a day. Why they needed to send me away and make me come back the next day was never explained.When I came back the next day, it was All orders are online or self-serve only. Then he took my memory stick and plugged it in to his computer without asking and started doing something on the screen. So I tried to point out which folder the project was in. I was told he was doing someone elses project, and not mine. I took my memory stick back and he laughed at me.I left. Ill go somewhere else. I dont think Ill be back. Everything they sell is available for less online and is delivered the next day, and if their service sucks there is no reason to come in here.They are basically a 7-11 for office supplies and should be used only in emergencies when you cant wait till the next day.I assume that all orders are online only is because the staff are unable to resist the temptation to pocket cash, and have to be out of the loop on the commercial transaction.They will be gone. You really cant be in a service industry and not provide service. People will find another way to do things, as I have just done. I had a review on here during Covid urging people to continue supporting them, but have deleted it -- I wont miss them when they shut it down.

Store hours posted til 9:00 pm., although when I had a problem in the self serve print dept no one wanted to help, they were busy talking to themselves. I was told the print dept closes at 5:30, but it was not posted anywhere! If you have employee shortage how simple would it be to post a sign, or better yet cross train employees!

Lenda at Print Counter was very helpful with my last-minute print job. Ran through some paper options, printed some samples of what the job would look like. I needed the print job for a memorial service within 4 hours and she had it done and ready even with 8 jobs in queue. She was also able to find an eligible discount to apply, which was a great help to our non-profit club. So grateful for Lendas help. Also appreciated the cashier who greeted me at the entrance and was thoughtful enough to come to the print counter to tell me he notified Lenda, who was in the back and was on her way. She came within 1 minute. Was reluctant to come at first as Ive also had my interactions with the super cranky guy at the counter. Hopefully, Lenda will stay. Shes very knowledgeable and got things done without any fuss.

Every job is perfect!I had a rush job this year, and Chris Beamish was able to fit my project into his busy schedule. Miraculour turnaround time. Avoid this Chain. 3/10/2022 Their website had shown a 200 dollar gaming chair in-stock, it was not. I drove 40 miles each way only to find out it was never in-stock, over 80 miles rounds trip whith high gas prices. The Sales Associate lied, said he will have it delivered in 3 day from the warehouse, it was not. I bought ink and the chair cash $305.00 from my debit card. After 4 days I checked the order with the order tracking it claimed that new delivery date would be April 13, 2022.3/18/2022 two emails first one shown new order for same chair.3/18/2022 seconds later a second email said order canceled. This is where their scam started.When I called they said that the pending order was canceled and no new money out of my account. STRANGE as they already had the $220.00 from 3/10/2022 for the chair and $78.00 for the ink.The call center insisted the pending order was canceled no money was taken(again) from my account. I told them over and over and OVER for MORE THAN an hour that it was an in-store purchase on MARCH 10, 2022 In WALNUT CREEK Where they took over $305.00 out of my Debit Card. Office Max create a new order then canceled to cover the FRAUD by the internet team and in-store salesman. Claiming no ADDITIONAL CHARGES as they are trying to hide the fact of the $305.00 purchase eight days before.AVOID THIS CHAIN, AVOID THE WEB VERSION as they tried to steal 220.00 the cost of the chair with lies as fake promises that the proven funds will be replaced with in 72 business hours. The Call Center said that I have to wait until MARCH 30, 2022 to get my CASH RETURNED from a MARCH 10, 2022 PURCHASE.

During Black Friday sales shopping, the online store let me buy an item that wasnt actually in stock despite claiming that it was in stock at the store. When I went to the store, all employees looked and sounded miserable and one told me that they didnt have the most important item in my order as if that wasnt a problem and didnt propose any alternatives. He said that I wouldnt be charged for it, but I was. Be careful and check your credit card statement if youre ever in a similar situation. Personally, I dont plan on doing business with this company again as it was clear to me that many other peoples orders went partially unfulfilled that day based on which items were in the pickup area. But I guess I shouldnt be surprised that they would bait and switch to get people in their store after seeing the marketing e-mails corporate sends out.

Horrible experience. Went for a computer desk and found one I wanted to buy. Asked for assistance, but only free employee was on the phone. 30 minutes later another employee shows up and and takes the phone. The now free employee starts fiddling with papers, then grabs what looks like a box of printer supplies and walks right past me without any acknowledgement. I ask again for help and am told that someone on the phone wants a price adjustment for an online order and they are trying to figure out if they can do it. I’m told it’s complicated, so “it’s going to be a while” until someone can help me. Never going there again.

Horrible customer serivce. I dropped off a banner request on Friday afternoon and said that i needed it printed out by Saturday night. I called Saturday afternoon to check in on my order and apparently they lost track of my order, something printed wrong, and a bunch of other excuses piled up. In sum, i put them under a time crunch and i understand that, but no one ever called to make me aware that the lazy associate messed up my order in some way. If i had known i would have went to another store asap. I say lazy with respect to the associates abilities. So i asked if they could deliver my banner by the end of the day because i called at 12/1 PM and the store has a before 2pm policy which means that any and all projects submitted before 2pm will be created by the end of the day. So thats obviously false advertising because the second associate also didnt get my banner in time. Safe to say ill never come back and it was indeed a terrible experience. The ladies were both nice people, but being nice doesnt win you good service reviews. Their names were Linda and the other lady was older, had gray hair, nice French tip nails, light skin, light eyes, and she was rather tall for her older age. In sum, the least they could have done is communicated with me about the status of my order. But, they didnt.

I had a phenomenal experience yesterday with Jermone from the tech team. Brought in my computer chair that I had picked up a year ago. I had purchased the protection plan through square and they sent me a replacement part. Unfortunately, I was having a tough time replacing the part. I brought the chair in, along with all the parts and Jermone was able to complete the repair for me. He had a great attitude and exuded professionalism. I just left the store. I went into this office max with the intention of buying hundreds of dollars in office supplies for the physicians practice I manage but left with nothing. The cashier was apathetic as I entered which put me off from the start, I then went to the paper aisle which was a wreck. I found what I thought was a great deal, turns out not only was it damaged and in the wrong location but the correct location didnt even have a price. The manager Jeff (I think) didnt apologize for the inconvenience, offer to help me find a better deal, or even price match or discount my paper purchase. Jeff approached the situation at a snails pace and clearly hates his job. I will not return.

I had a desk lamp that went out after 5 months or so and they wont return it because it isnt in the original box even though I have the receipt. They obviously sell inferior products and they seem to be ok ripping customers off. We will never use officemax again. Dont waste your time here go to STAPLES instead! I was at the office max on Sunday. That was the start of the new sale. The following day I went back with a couple people that wasnt with me on Sunday. When I walked in, the manager, Chris, told me I was not able to buy any of the items from the sale. Because I brought the people in with me on Monday, the manager said they wont get the sale either. I was ok with not getting the sale, I wasnt buying anything anyway, but because I walked in the store with them, they cant buy the sale items. The ad days 3 items per household. Do we need to start showing our IDs with our address on them to buy something?? This was wrong and the people I brought in should not have been penalized because I made them work a little harder the day before.

Went to send a fax, which didnt end up going through. The reason for the low rating is that the employee kept saying to resend it and resend it (no other words) and then ended up charging me $6 for every time i clicked send without saying they were charging each time before hand (and i was following the employees directions on how to send. Technically, that constitutes as a fraudulent scam, but seems this is business as usual.

Big box office suppliesIts a big store with all the usual stuff youd expect. I purchased a Wi-Fi extender here and found that it had sat on the shelf so long that it needed *two* firmware updates. Bottom line, I really dont recommend shopping here unless you are in a big deadline crunch. Amazon generally has better prices. If you have Prime, you get free shipping too.
